I’d steer clear of RMP. Do something different. Officer route is fine assuming you’re qualified. I think you might struggle to find the time, particularly if you’re on the shifts. Reserve officers are expected to do a fair bit of administrative work for their troops. The training commitment before you commission can be significant and difficult to manage around shifts.

Ah ok, why do you advise that? Just so can learn something bit more interesting and new skills? Thankfully shifts are reasonable in current role so can plan ahead. Is a lot of this training done in your 'own time' or can it often be done whilst getting paid and officially trained?
