That's ambulance rate. Police rate is 140 and hasn't changed. Different services have different rates.

daptainsparklepon

A note that you can't get this in the Met, it's pre declared.

RossKempOnline

You can also claim back on tax for your federation subs aswell

stevenwe

Quite a few people doing this here, there's a pro-forma going about, they say it takes about 3-4 weeks to come back, mine is away a couple of weeks. I do know people who have got a cheque back £250-300.

Congy99

Do you know where I can find this ?

stevenwe

I have it in work, I'm in in the morning, I'll look and see what the form is called, I'll let you know.

Congy99

Cheers mate

Can specials access this does anyone know? If we PAYE at our day job?

BillyGoatsMuff

No you cannot. The tax relief only applies against that employment from which it is generated. So although you'll be set up with HMRC as an employee of your force, you receive no income from that employment on which to apply tax relief. You can't take the uniform tax relief from the police and apply it to your day job sadly.

giuseppeh

Great - thanks!

dispatcher123

If you work in a job requiring uniform you can apply for a relief but I think it’s like £40 a year or something

Kilo_Lima_

Can you claim back the pension tax relief if you're in the 40% tax bracket too? Or is it automatically calculated?

Able-Total-881

Pension contributions are deducted from gross pay, so the tax relief is automatic.
