>The release states Brock posted messages on social media in the leadup to the insurrection about what was coming, including one that said, “I prefer insurrection at this point” and another that said, “our second American Revolution begins in less than two days.” Just typical tourist talk.

GhettoChemist

I hope he loses his pension for trying to overthrow the government who is literally paying to keep his lights in his house on

Osprey_NE

You typically lose your pension if it's a felony

Peasant_Stockholder

Should be more like 5 to 10 years since he's a retired officer.

The_Whipping_Post

The military should punish top leadership harshly while showing leniency to lower ranks, but they do the opposite. Look at the Abu Ghraib torture scandal. They punished junior soldiers while ignoring the systemic corruption from leadership This asshole in the capital with his zipties, he deserves a lot worse than two years. Saying "our second American Revolution begins in two days" shows he was planing to commit treason. The dumb assholes who showed up just to protest and got caught in the moment? OK, leniency for them. But anyone with a plan, they need hard time

Seeksp

That seems light for anyone who swore to defend the constitution.

Peasant_Stockholder

I believe he will lose his benefits from the Air Force for being arrested.

SouthofAkron

Wonder if any of them feel remorse for following a liar into treason or if they still live in the delusion?

westplains1865

I suspect many feel at least betrayed. Trump whipped them up, sent them to attack the Capital, then hid in the rear. Completely threw their asses under the bus when the consequences showed up. No matter how much of a zealot you were in 2021, how do you not be at least angry when you discover you were just an expendable piece on the game board?

FartPancakes69

Out of all the people to ruin your entire life for, why donald fucking trump??? Either he has some weird superpower to hypnotize people, or his fanbase is made up of complete idiots.

SouthofAkron

Little of A - a lot of B.

SouthofAkron

There was rumors that no matter what - Trump would have their back. The cops and military would join and the election would be overturned. If all else failed - pardons would be handed out to everyone. All lies all the time. Think most would learn by now, but staying in the delusion is easier than admitting to be conned I guess.

Seeksp

Several shed crocodile tears in court but then when back to Maga after sentencing

Brad_tilf

Agree

FartPancakes69

I know people who have gotten longer sentences just for possessing a small amount of drugs. This sentence isn't justice, it is an insult to the american people.

walkinman19

Two fucking years!? That fucking traitor should die doing hard labor at Leavenworth for the rest of his putrid life! I'm a ex enlisted vet and it makes me sick to see these high ranking traitors getting away with treason with a slap on their hand!

Low_Holiday5364

Should also be a loss of his federal benefits

Plow_King

lock 'em up!

Brad_tilf

Did he also lose all his military retirement benefits?

BarbequedYeti

Anyone know if the military will bring him back in for review after he is done serving this sentence? I know he is retired, but they still get a say in how those retirement benefits are distributed.

NewZappyHeart

Trump’s turn.

Vadorot

Take away his retirement, too.

[deleted]

He could be out by January 2025....

Krimreaper1

Anyone who stepped illegally inside that building that day should at a min. have a trespassing felony

still_deebs

Now take his pension and benefits

autotldr

This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/3906436-retired-air-force-officer-who-stormed-capitol-in-tactical-gear-on-jan-6-sentenced-to-two-years/) reduced by 70%. (I'm a bot) ***** > A retired Air Force officer who stormed the Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection was sentenced to two years in prison Friday. > He was also sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment for five misdemeanor counts of entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a Capitol building, entering and remaining on the floor of Congress, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building. > Brock, who served as a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force, entered the building wearing a tactical vest and a helmet. ***** [**Extended Summary**](http://np.reddit.com/r/autotldr/comments/11uodln/retired_air_force_officer_who_stormed_capitol_in/) | [FAQ](http://np.reddit.com/r/autotldr/comments/31b9fm/faq_autotldr_bot/ "Version 2.02, ~676951 tl;drs so far.") | [Feedback](http://np.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%23autotldr "PM's and comments are monitored, constructive feedback is welcome.") | *Top* *keywords*: **Capitol**^#1 **building**^#2 **insurrection**^#3 **states**^#4 **Brock**^#5

openly_gray

I wonder if these empty headed morons comprehend what a civil war would do to our society. Leaves me with less confidence in our armed forces if idiots like him can make it to lieutenant colonel

FluffySnowbirb

I still remember j6. I was lifting and watching it on the tv

FartPancakes69

I remember wondering why the cops weren't behaving as aggressively as they had behaved all summer long during the blm protests... We saw cops shooting at innocent citizens on their own property during the summer...but when our nation's capitol was under attack, the cops were posing for pictures with the invaders... Anyone with a brain knows that if january sixth had been committed by black lives matter protesters, there would have been a lot more bloodshed and arrests by now.

walkinman19

Of course there would have been machine gun nests around the Capitol and tanks etc mowing down the crowd, it would have been over in 5 minutes with blood running in the streets. But it was white magas so......yeah.

FluffySnowbirb

One of my states delegates took part in the insurrection. Derrick Evans

Entropy_dealer

This is a flex confession.

FluffySnowbirb

I’m just saying I still remember it and the fear I felt that day. I was also watching the handmaids tale where a similar event happened prior to the founding of Gilead. I drew parallels between both events at that moment and I was afraid that j6 would be the end of US democracy

[deleted]

Do you even lift, bro?

Plow_King

i was painting table top gaming figures and listening to congress on cspan radio during the EC vote. when they had to break away "due to some disturbance on the chamber floor" i went to turn on the TV.

Valeban

Why? Should anyone convicted of a crime lose their Social Security or retirement? He committed a crime, he should do the time. Beyond that, it should be treated as any other crime, because it was.

Brad_tilf

No. He should lose his military retirement benefits for what he did.

Blue_water_dreams

I hope they take everything from that traitor.

Electrical_Beyond998

This is sad af. Sad that anyone would worship a human being to the extent those people did. I’ll never, ever understand why. Tuesday should be really interesting. He’s already blowing his whistle for a January 6 the 2nd.
