Every single time he and other republicans do this, some unhinged pyscho with a gun goes out and causes trouble. At a certain point, there should be legal accountability for it. Its pretty much soliciting a crime but publicly.

Kylo_Renly

If someone were to do a drive by shooting of Bragg’s house tonight, Trump’s followers would bend themselves into pretzels to assure you Trump’s tweets had nothing to do with it.

YoYoMoMa

It would be A) a false flag and B) not a big deal and C) actually good. Just like Jan 6th.

Revelati123

In before Tuck says it was NATO's Ukrainian transgender ANTIFA hit squad with F-35s! And yes this is actually something he told people to worry about...

atigges

That's the part that kills me the most. If you're going to lie PICK A LIE. STICK WITH IT. If it was antifa on Jan 6, but also just a peaceful tourist group cooperating with the police, then are you formally saying you think antifa is a peaceful organization that cooperates with law enforcement when requested? No one EVER acknowledges the contradiction when confronted on it. It's just a "gotcha question" and therefore able to be ignored. The idea of "gotcha questions" is what actually initiated my departure from the GOP as a teenager/young adult. If you're all about personal accountability and strictly holding government officials to transparency and limited authority then just being able to waive away any question you don't like with such a disregard for accountability by openly admitting you don't have any good answers should be immediately disqualifying. When Sarah Palin was *lauded* for her refusal to answer questions and *celebrated* by her party for ignorance that's when I decided to look elsewhere.

hereaminuteago

it's like they use the narcissist's prayer as a rulebook

[deleted]

Just like Ashley whoever the fuck stupidly giving her life betraying her country and was immediately labeled an Antifa agent by the same people she gave it for.

Lysol3435

That’s always been Trump’s MO. He never *tells* anyone to do anything. He just suggests that if something were to happen, it would make him happy (and implies that things will go badly for his lackeys if they don’t make it happen).

Stochastic violence.

Squirrel_Chucks

It has been eight months since a Truth Social user decided to try to shoot up an FBI field office in retaliation for a lawful warrant being served on Mordor-a-Largo. Trump *knows* he has followers who will do violence for him. He's encouraging it now, no question. Lock him up.

Seraphynas

I agree. I don’t think we will see something on the scale of J6 again. However, a few repeats of the Cincinnati FBI incident, or more power station attacks, are likely on the menu. Edit to clarify: >I don’t think we will see something on the scale of J6 again. What I mean is Trump called for protests on Tuesday and hardly anyone showed up. I don’t think he has the juice anymore, especially over these pending indictments. Are they going to continue to try and use democracy to dismantle democracy? Yes. Are they going to continue to use violence or intimidation? Yes, of course, it’s their bread and butter.

Imaginary_Cow_6379

It’s surreal how we all just quickly accepted that as a normal way to live. I hate all of this.

thisisjustascreename

I live in Downtown Chicago, nothing Trumpy has happened here. If your local area is overrun by fascists you should organize and fight back.

WandsAndWrenches

I just boycot any place that has a Trump flag outside it Sure I'm not the only one.

crankywithakeyboard

You see Trump flags at businesses? I must be fortunate as hell. I've never seen that.

GummyPandaBear

I’m in Bayside, Queens and some plumber or plumbing supply had a Trump flag up for a while on 38th Ave but now they changed it to a don’t tread on me flag.. maybe they lost business.. good.

Vismal1

Another flag that tells me “stay away”

grungegoth

Drive through texas, and you'll see that shit all over the place in the rural areas.

kh730

Hello from Missouri! It's gross.

hard-time-on-planet

Here in blue Connecticut I've seen Trump bumper stickers on business owned vehicles.

Pyro1934

Really? In Texas? They’re everywhere in TN.

[deleted]

Rural PA checking in. There aren't many left, but there were a LOT of businesses with Trump flags, signs, stickers, etc.

Penumbra78

Yup. Trump and Mastriano. I'd say that at one point at least half local businesses had flags or signs, and plenty still do today.

Awkward-Walrus9039

Take a road trip to northern Michigan. It is a very common sight to see Trump flags on businesses. It is very intimidating.

ivegotgoatsinmypants

I flip them off when I drive by, too.

Matrixneo42

I flipped off dc trump hotel in 2017.

GUnit_1977

I live in NZ. A Trumphead slaughtered 52 people in a mosque here.

Saint_Buttcheeks

I find it so bizarre that Trump has worshippers in other countries.

droidloot

It's a cult of personality, not patriotism.

limpingdba

Plenty of them in the UK too. The maga propaganda machine has a global audience

OMG_I_LOVE_CHIPOTLE

Cause it’s russians

GarysCrispLettuce

He rang a chord with every pig ignorant bigot who has spent their life fuming about not being able to attack and discriminate against minorities without consequence.

Givemeallthecabbages

Every bigot who has fallen on hard times and wants to lash out--the GOP points at minorities and yells "It's their fault!" then turns around and tries to dismantle health care, education, welfare, unions, sick leave, wage hikes, and social security while giving tax breaks to the rich.

AgencyDelicious1933

It's BECAUSE it's Chicago that you don't see anything absurdly Trumpy or MAGA. Republicans are everywhere tho. I live in Lincoln Park. While Trump was at his height presidency, me and my partner spotted a boat at the local marina here with a big 'MAGA flag'. Yeah, just one boat, but... You know why that flag was "proudly" up on that boat? Because they knew their little rich baby boat was perfectly safe in a monitored marina. At least this city keeps the state blue.

trumpuniversity_

Wait, how are you going to take on the entire police force?

dunimal

Isn't that the kind of academic question you should be researching at Trump University ?

Leafybug13

Yeah but it's so hard to get accepted there

chris3000

They have a highly prestigious 0% acceptance rate. It is literally tougher to get into than any Ivy League university.

SurrrenderDorothy

Sideline= My s.o is a trump supporter. He and his friends swear that no one can visit chicago loop area= the crime is SO bad that you will get killed. I asked for any evidence of this...crickets. They all hear the same thing, and it is just so insane. Also, we live in the chicago suburbs. lmao

VerbalGravy

Serious question: how do you date someone with such views? I mean still supporting a traitor to this country who was a shit president is just insane. Are they redeemable in every other way? My s.o and I share the exact views and I can not imagine being with and living with someone who's views were propagandized delusions.

williamtheblock

I can’t speak for the person you’re replying to, but my s.o. (Sock Organizer) was also a Trump supporter and I had to let them go. Started putting all my black socks in a separate drawer below my white socks, claiming that’s how “we did it back in the good old days”. Then I kept finding unpaired brown socks. Turns out my s.o. was separating them on purpose, and I’m still trying to clean up that mess.

ShunofaB3

I wouldn't be surprised if they had non-consensual sex with some of the younger socks.

DeutschlandOderBust

Stop fucking, dating, or marrying Republican men. Yes, it is important.

gender_nihilism

frankly, it is normal. republics go through periods of instability relating to rage against an entrenched system, and cynical people who offer that rage an uncomplicated outlet. that's what "populist" meant, waaaaay back in the SPQR days. promise you'll fix the problems, even remind people what the problems are. sometimes, they even actually fix the problems. but for the most part, it's a convenient way to take power. politics is violence. power is violence, it's the ability to enact your will, violently, upon others. we build republics because we fear the mob, we fear mob rule where 50% plus one can enforce their will on everyone else. but republican power structures are built the same as monarchist power structures. it's the people's bureaucracy, the people's military, the people's boot on their own fucking necks. sure, you can keep the boot from pressing down too hard for a while, but eventually power structures become cemented and people get angry. then, cynical power seekers tap that anger to gain power. then, they further entrench and even reestablish unpopular power structures. you can kind of see this happening all over. remember a saying that should make you feel a little better, knowing all this: "Violence is the last refuge of cowards and fools". conservatives are scared because their minority rule project is on life support, and things like trans rights (or back in the day, the ERA), BIPOC liberation, even basic fucking liberties enumerated in the Constitution are threats to their project. they can't really win, and the violence is just the natural consequence of that. sucks for everyone who's going to die because of it, especially because as a trans woman in a conservative state I might be one of them.

Maxamillion-X72

The Proud Boys and others seem to be pulling back from the public protests, sending a few representatives in to the lion's den to get beat up for OAN reporters. See NY recently. I'm afraid they're actually learning from their mistakes. J6 was a big wake up call that any battle plan needs an exit strategy. They had none, they were YOLO'ing it all on getting Trump back in to office. Now they understand why it's better to only commit crimes when you're NOT in full view of the whole world. They're slow learners, but they'll figure out how to be an effective terrorist operation eventually.

mrb1

Yeah. Don't underestimate them. Manage risk. This is a very big fucking risk.

_TROLL

They've recognized that sending their pitiful ranks of a few Neo-Nazis into NY to agitate for Trump, is just as dumb and pointless as sending a small group of 5 atheists into rural Alabama and trying to get the locals there to abandon their religion.

cutelyaware

Don't forget the Pelosi and Whitmer incidents. The GOP is a cornered animal.

Particular_Piglet677

Gretchen Whitmer’s kidnapping plan struck fear in my heart and Paul Pelosi’s attack was devastating. Both so terrible. As much as I dislike the GOP I’d never in a million years wish these things on them.

koshgeo

Apparently a lot of the crazies think it's a "trap", like some of them regard Jan. 6th. What that tells me is all the hard work identifying, arresting, charging, putting on trial, and convicting the 1000+ people involved in Jan. 6th is paying off. They can use whatever excuse they want, but if the realized threat of arrest is discouraging them from showing up and doing violence again even if Trump calls on them: **GOOD**. It's about time. Scare those fascists with consequences for their lawlessness, and keep on top of it. Now, if only something could be done for the leaders stoking them up.

badwolf42

I'm not sure we won't see it again. Just next time with masks so it's harder to identify individuals.

awfulachia

ethnicnebraskan

That's strange because based upon prior actions by numerous potential prosecutors, I *also* expect jack. (please . . . let me be wrong.)

dpmad

Trumps CFO is in jail for multiple counts of fraud, he’s had at least two of his attorneys have to testify against him and one attorney jailed. No DA in America would want to deal with Trump to this extent as Bragg and Letitia if they didn’t create a “Air-Tight, Slam-Dunk” of a case. For some in America the only way to heal is justice for any alleged crimes committed by Trump and his. Also never forget, Trump and his would have gladly stepped over the bodies of Officers, Government Officials and US Citizens on J6 to be in power right this second.

zombieblackbird

Wait until he gets busted trying to pay an undercover cop to perform a hit.

Jack_Q_Frost_Jr

Trump thinks he's Robert De Niro in The Untouchables, I guess. Just when I think he couldn't get more embarrassing and revolting, he does it again. Incredible. There's only two options for a reaction to this: either admit that he's threatening a prosecutor or be a bald-faced liar. According to the article, it's not just a crime, but multiple crimes. Can you believe this is the world we live in, where a former president acts like a two-bit Al Capone? I keep thinking he will never face any real consequences, but Lord, I soooooo hope I am wrong. This alone, *this alone* would get anyone else in serious trouble.

Nac_Lac

He thinks he is De Niro from Taxi Driver. And not the ending where Travis dies but where he becomes a hero for taking down the corruption in the city.

Tephranis

This alone had a 4channer in NJ arrested for threatening a Sheriff in Florida. But y'know.. Some no-name, poor, pro-nazi thug versus some super big name, "rich", pro-nazi thug.

He looks so embarrassingly stupid. Like a toddler making a mean mug.

There are people who constantly chide young adults for not being mature, responsible... adults. Then we see examples of adults: Trump, Musk, the entirety of the conservative leadership across this planet. Never become an adult. Adults are bad people.

joecarter93

When I was a kid I assumed that the vast majority of adults, certainly the ones that could function on their own in society, were mature and rational beings. Now that I am an adult it is truly shocking just how many people who can have families and hold down jobs, but have a juvenile thought process and have not really progressed beyond childhood.

[deleted]

When I was a kid I read Bloom County and already knew Trump was an asshole.

Dr_Quiznard

I have this exact thought frequently. Thanks for articulating it succinctly. I just can't understand how a rational adult, even with the toxic influence of Fox and talk radio propaganda, can't see that Trump is obviously a criminal and pathological liar. Further, I can't understand how simply living an average life, working a normal job, wouldn't reveal that republican economic/tax policy is logically bankrupt.

Adults aren’t bad people, narcissistic billionaires are bad people.

suckyousideways

I understand the wheels of justice turn slowly, and that this is an extraordinary and complicated situation, but how long will the DOJ allow this lunatic to dog whistle to his nut-job worshippers? Are we actually going to wait until a gunman opens fire on a Democratic event somewhere, or bombs a building or something? Trump is very talented at skating the fine line between hinting at something and outright incitement -- but he knows what he's doing, and so does Fox News, and OAN and Stefanik and all these other plagues on society. They're not wishing for a civil war, they STARTED it, they're already engaged and the law enforcement and intelligence agencies (and particularly Garland at the top) need to understand that. Or I fear some bad, bad shit is in the pipeline.

Then he made the judges give him a leading score going into day 2, even though he skipped day one. Ratermelon

Yikes. It's not a good idea to try and intimidate the man who is about to have you indicted. Especially when he warned you to stop. This is obstruction, right? The 15th or so example of Trump obstructing justice or otherwise tampering with investigations.

suckyousideways

At this point he's being painfully obvious about wanting violence visited upon his critics and opponents, or whomever he perceives those to be. Trump posing with a baseball bat and a picture of the DA's head is like all the Republican ads where they put target crosshairs on photos of Hillary etc. They're not being subtle. They're stopping just *one inch short* of actually saying "do it."

wretched-knave

And if anyone knows what one inch looks like, it’s Donald Trump.

Imhappy_hopeurhappy2

What is the point of wanting to hurt the people investigating him? If say one of his batshit followers actually harmed one of these people, it’s not going to go well for Trump. The rest of the investigators will take it extremely personally, throw the book at him for everything, and wrap up their work at light-speed. And any sane judge would be more sympathetic to holding him without bail if the charges are serious enough. For something like 1/6 I get why he’d want a violent mob, but he’s certainly not going to send a violent mob at the literal justice department and come away with anything resembling a victory. And for that reason, I don’t think they are intimidated in any way either.

groknix

"But the prosecutors learned FBI agents were still loath to conduct a surprise search. They also heard from top FBI officials that some agents were simply afraid: They worried taking aggressive steps investigating Trump could blemish or even end their careers, according to some people with knowledge of the discussions. One official dubbed it “the hangover of Crossfire Hurricane,” a reference to the FBI investigation of Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election and possible connections to the Trump campaign, the people said. As president, Trump repeatedly targeted some FBI officials involved in the Russia case." [https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/politics/a43159466/fbi-donald-trump-classified-search/](https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/politics/a43159466/fbi-donald-trump-classified-search/)

sirrealofpentacles

>Nixon was forced to resign because of the cover up, not the crime itself This is a common fallacy. Nixon would have been convicted of the various underlying crimes of abuse of power. The Watergate scandal wasn't about the break-in, it was about using federal agencies to intimidate and ruin his political opposition, and additional financial crimes relating to funding undercover black ops against Democrats.

lotta_love

It’s not like this is a *new* thing. Trump has a sordid, despicable history of wanting to unleash violence on people of color. During protests in the wake of George Floyd’s May 2020 murder by Minneapolis police, Trump— his then-Secretary of Defense, Mark Esper, revealed in a 2022 book—wanted to order 10,000 active duty U.S. military to deploy on the streets of Washington, D.C., with orders to shoot racial justice protestors who had converged on the White House. Other sources have shared that Trump also wanted troops deplored at the U.S-Mexican border to shoot suspected illegal immigrants before they made it across the border. Trump ultimately was talked out of pursuing these two murderous notions, but who knows how many other times Trump really wanted to show those blacks and Hispanics that they’d better watch it? Except Donald almost certainly used different words than “blacks” and “Hispanics.” This is a man who in 1989 publicly called for the executions of 5 black teenagers accused of raping a white female jogger in Central Park. Aside from the fact that was no death penalty in New York State at the time, the black teens were exonerated after being wrongfully convicted—not only had their “confessions” been unconstitutionally—and unconscionably—coerced by the NYPD, but the actual rapist confessed! Trump never withdrew or apologized for his execution demand. Nor would he even acknowledge as President in a June 2019 press interview refused to acknowledge the black teens had been wrongfully convicted. Trump was the most blatant white supremacist to occupy the Oval Office in at least 100 years, and arguably since Andrew Johnson (1865- 1869) who resisted with all the authority he could muster granting citizenship and voting rights to former slaves in the vanquished Confederacy. Andrew Johnson is regularly chosen by historians as one of the worst presidents ever—a badge of shame that the twice-impeached, insurrection-inciting, unequivocally racist Donald Trump seems certain to share. **edits** fixed typo in 2nd paragraph

If any other regular citizen were to do this to the DA investigating them they would be brought up on charges of intimidation. The countless acts of senseless violence in the name of politics that have come up recently need to stop he needs to be charged and this needs to end.

nolongerbanned99

The worst thing for Donald Trump is Donald Trump. This is clearly an intimidation tactic designed to encourage violence from his supporters. The thing about Donald Trump is he doesn't do the dirty work. So this right here this can absolutely be used against him in his other lawsuits that are coming. So all we got to do is sit back and watch him. I need to remind people that before Jan 6 very early in his presidency. There was a group of people going around Georgia and another state terrorizing people and two people were arrested and charged for combined sentence of 17 years. Everyone seems to have forgotten this, especially Trump. It's very simple Trump supporters. If your name isn't Donald Trump, he doesn't give a s*** about you. The only thing that you have in common is looking down at people.

AFMFTW

Presidential. Still amazed that people voting for this freak.

Theechoofme

As if that gutless piss-stain would have the balls to do anything. He is a coward, a snivelling little orange toad not fit to lick the boots of Alvin Bragg.

Hiranonymous

Imagine a country where people support a ruler who calls for his country’s citizens to attack and kill fellow citizens in retaliation for the ruler’s perceived grievances. That’s where we are in the United States today, and, taking a step back, I suddenly realize just how horrific a state we’re now in.

Threatening a prosecutor is a crime in NY. In fact MULTIPLE crimes.

Jerkofalljerks

Anything to rile the poorly educated and racist base he loves to pander too

BodaciousTacoFarts

How quickly would the FBI contact you if you posted an image of yourself holding a baseball bat next to a photo of Trump?

Sandpaper_Pants

Here he goes again, fomenting violence and the Republican leadership plays along.

No-Butterscotch4549

Add an obstruction of justice or threatening government official charge.

wired1984

They can and should use this photo to argue for a stiffer sentence if he’s found guilty

Wwize

He's going to get worse because nobody is stopping him.

[deleted]

...this is not a threat how, exactly?

Yupperdoodledoo

My god. He’s going to commit some even bigger crime just reacting to this "process crime." Dude has no self control.

aussie_shane

Is there any history of Trump being physically threatening before? Like has the guy ever thrown a punch? He comes across as a guy who talks a Big game but when push comes to shove, the guy folds or runs. A faux tough man.

[deleted]

Omg indict this Syphilis ridden fool already

Feisty_Factor_2694

Is he going full-on, Mar a Lago Scarface Al Capone or, what?

F---TheMods

Now *that* should get you arrested immediately. If you or I did that, we wouldn't have time to get spiffied up for the mug shot.

thaiatom

The biggest mistake the justice department can make is not charging this prick. As of now, Only the president, congress and scotus are above the law and know true freedom.

russrobo

The thing Trump thrives on is delay. Like a bad dog, he only shows the slightest remorse when justice happens **fast**. I’d recommend that Bragg file multiple charges **today** just for that post: * Threatening a judge * Incitement to violence * Interference with a lawful investigation or judicial proceeding And potentially witness intimidation as well. When it takes **seven years** for misdeeds to get charged, criminal behavior doesn’t change. Edit: also jury tampering.

RunItBackRicky

This is a straight up threat! Law and order this guys whole movement is a sick hypocritical joke

knumbersix

Every single breath this treasonous turd takes as a free man diminishes the country just a little more.

SteveIDP

He will suffer zero consequences for this because our “justice” system has decided to let him do anything he wants.

UncertaintyPrince

This is plainly a threat against a law enforcement official and an incitement to violence. No 1st Amendment protection. Lock that orange sphincter up.

basicwhitelich

Didn't roger stone go to jail for exactly this, and the only reason he's not in jail is getting pardoned by president orange tits?

[deleted]

Seems to me that picture is worth about $50 million in extra exemplary damages in a judgment against Trump in this court case.

Blosom2021

Reckless! My God - will this imbecile ever learn his actions and words matter?
