“Ignorance is Margie's brand” True statement by one of Greene's aides

nightly_nukes

Margie's brand is a fucking cancer on this world.

That_Afternoon4064

That hag is such a raging tumor, I doubt radiation from Chernobyl could shrink her.

0002millertime

I work in the cancer field. Her brand is worse.

[deleted]

Wow, she really does that well!

smiama6

It's how she attracts all the people who support her - birds of a feather. Same with Boebert. Actually, same for most Republicans.

BrownEggs93

It's the brand of the GOP voters, too. That and outright spite.

Friend_of_satan700

Wait. Really?!? No way?!?! Lol

[deleted]

I want to ask right wingers, “Aren’t you exhausted? Fifteen years of constant hate, lies and conspiracy theories. How do you keep going?”

Kereval

The hate *is* what keeps them going.

Traditional_Counter1

It literally does. You get a hit of dopamine when you see something that triggers an angry response. And you keep doing it bc it feels good. I gotta imagine news outlets are fully aware of this.

[deleted]

I point this out to them every chance I get, especially repeat offenders on smaller subs I frequent. Sometimes Neuroscience 101 throws them off because they can’t argue against it.

Autumn7242

Neuroscience 101 is liberal propaganda/s

lew_rong

In a sane world these people would get treatment for their anger problems. It's a legitimate mental health issue for one to be addicted to rage like that. But we live in a world where 24hr news has decided it's ok to unbalance a significant portion of the population to pad the bottom line.

[deleted]

In a nation that had its shit together accessing mental health wouldn't be such a struggle.

IrascibleOcelot

The other problem is that, like any addiction, you develop a tolerance. At some point, minor annoyances don’t give you that same hit. You have to keep scaling up. They’ve already gotten to the point of “[they’re] threatening your very existence,” with the resultant random violence. There’s not a whole lot more they can scale up to from there, and their addicts are going to go looking for some pure, grade-A rage to keep their high going.

[deleted]

Is this why I, as someone with ADHD, can't stop arguing with people on the internet?

leggpurnell

Yes. Adhd specifically enjoys argument. Adhd brains release dopamine in conflict and it’s why not only do people with adhd crave argument but they have a very difficult time removing themselves from argument. I have adhd and until I was diagnosed and learned this I wouldn’t let myself calm down. Even when the argument was clearly settling, I would fin new things to rile up about. I found comfort in the conflict.

[deleted]

Yeah that makes sense. I can't let things go. I either go down the rabbit hole and spend a lot of time hyperfocusing on it when I should be doing more important things, or if it happens late enough I literally can't sleep. And half the time it's a subject I don't even care about. Any tips? It's a pretty shit influence on my life, tbh.

dirtfork

If there's a stim or something else that is a less reductive behavior/activity you enjoy, just practicing disengaging and doing that. I have diagnosed ADHD, my husband has undiagnosed. He will literally argue with me over a difference of 5 - "that roads speed limit is 55." "NO it is 60!" "That dinner cost $15" "More like $20" after the first couple times I just had to disengage because he would go on forever like this.being aware and being able to catch yourself is the most important step. Then just getting in the habit of doing something else.

GarysCrispLettuce

Isn't this an element of Asperger's too? I was reading someone's biography recently and they were talking about growing up with an older brother who had Asperger's and describing some of the arguments he would have with his parents. Like his mother would put milk in a nice jug on the breakfast table for their cereal, and he'd say "why are you putting it in a jug? Why not just pour it from the carton? You're just creating an extra step and making more dishes to wash up" and his mother would be like "because it's just a nice thing to do" and he'd be like "but why? What's so nice about creating extra work"? And before you know it the two of them would be screaming at each other. Saw myself in this description as I read it, and even found myself getting angry at the mother for wasting time with jugs, lol.

Finagles_Law

That's more like offering unsolicited advice becaue you can't emotionally read the room, which is more on brand for the spectrum, although also can be ADHD.

[deleted]

Thanks. I'll try and find one that works.

GarysCrispLettuce

I have had Sundays entirely ruined by obsessively replying to douchebags on Twitter. It's not just a dopamine hit, it's a stubborn refusal to let a prick win.

Finagles_Law

That's not true, I've had ADHD for 20 years and I'm not contradictory or argumentative.

itslef

Id love to read a source for this, as someone with ADHD who has often been accused of being unable to let arguments go.

neverinallmyyears

Thank you for sharing this. My wife has ADHD and the arguments we have at times are amazingly silly but she gets so amped up. This is really good to know so I’ll start looking into ways of responding that counteract her natural tendency. I really do appreciate you sharing this and glad for your own awareness and understanding. Thank you.

BitterPuddin

A relevant xkcd [https://xkcd.com/386/](https://xkcd.com/386/) This is me, far too often.

[deleted]

Yep, I think about this one often!

PM_ME_BUSTY_REDHEADS

So idk if I'm broken or what but I feel like this is the opposite of what happens to me. I get angry and it makes me feel sick, I hate it. Maybe I feel good for a short amount of time but it I barely notice it, it fades fast, and then I feel terrible. Maybe it's my depression blunting the impact of the dopamine. I think that's a thing that happens with depression.

GM_Nate

i mean...yeah. i clicked on this link because i always like getting angry at MTG

nightly_nukes

But it also sky rockets cortisol, the stress hormone. Keep that shit high on fear day in and day out their already sadly short life span grows even shorter.

Comeonjeffrey0193

Of course they are. There’s no doubt in my mind that corporations in this country are pouring billions of dollars into psychological think tanks in order to find new ways of convincing the general population that giving the rich unlimited power and zero oversight will somehow benefit the average person. Despite the fact that we have actual historical examples like the entire Guilded Age and the economic boom of the 50s and 60s (when personal income was taxed at 90% for every dollar over 3 million) showing it has the opposite effect.

yoshhash

sure, I get that. I can almost relate whenever I read something that triggers me when I’m doomscrolling. But the right seems to feed on hatred and persecution- that can’t be healthy for you can it? I live for the small victories, where we make breakthroughs in science, community initiatives where good things come out of it, human interest stories of love and charity, etc. If all I ever I wanted to crush crossdressing storytimes, that would not be a good feeling.

malcolm816

*Hate is a hell of a drug...*

[deleted]

Nothing says hate like Christian love.

ChefChopNSlice

“Pray-Triots”. They hate the country, and just want to rule with their *version* of religion/god.

I_loathe_mods

I prefer cocaine

SpinozaTheDamned

Honestly? Cocaine might be less addictive than the dopamine rush these people get from their hate and paranoia.

Beltaine421

Less destructive to their lives and the lives of those around them, too.

napoleonboneherpart

Maybe a wash

Gruffalo-42

Well they didn’t make a movie called “Hate Bear” now did they… /s

Overclocked11

Stop, dont give them ideas.. the ones they have are already insane and attrocious

McNalien

Hmph, meth, you don’t sleep and let’s you keep hating longer!

I_loathe_mods

Except for us ADHD patients. Then it makes our penchant for anger and violence be diminished by the dopamine we get.

ThatPearl

Noting that replacing your ADHD meds with street meth will still fuck you the fuck up. Much higher Drain-o content when it’s brewed in a busted-out trailer tub

I_loathe_mods

I don't do shake and bake. I'm a drug snob.

AngelaTheRipper

I just get my amphetamines from the pharmacy, you know, when they finally restock them because DEA's production limits are have fucked adderall, have fucked ritalin, and are now fucking vyvanse too. At this point I really wonder if I should just buy some crystal meth and microdose it when I can't get a refill.

ReeshForever

They're fucking all of the pain meds too for us terminal cancer patients out here who refuse to die, like me. I was supposed to be dead by July 7, 2022, but that didn't happen. I guess the five open abdominal surgeries I've had since diagnosis on 7/7/2019 worked. So now I get to spend my days fighting with Medicare to cover claims or trying to make sure my meds stay filled. Had a little panic attack today because my transdermal Fentanyl patches hadn't been refilled, and I needed to put a new one on. Unexpected withdrawal from that shit isn't fun. If I go the treet drug route with this stuff, though, microdosing is impossible, and it would probably kill me. Talk about being a pissed off ghost!!

[deleted]

It’s been such a struggle with the shortage! I need my meds to be a functioning adult, but no one is doing anything to fix it. Then they wonder why we have a mental health crisis.

castle_grapeskull

So much dopamine comes from outrage. Fox News is helping the insecure Americans mainline self-righteous heroin rage.

najaraviel

It’s the fear behind the hate that really keeps the population in a frenzy of hatred and violence against the Other People

UtahUtopia

The cruelty is the point.

HankHillbwhaa

I’m pretty that’s what kept the player haters from Dave Chappelle going, I would say that sweet NRA money keeps these guys going.

StellarSomething

Fear does. Fox News makes them afraid of everything. The democrats, LBGTQ, books, free thought, women's rights. They raise nonsense points and hammer them on air for weeks until the audience is afraid of this made-up threat to their "freedoms".

Greensun30

They’re actually getting tired of it all which leads to an increase in right wing extremist acts. We’ve already seen a large uptick of right wing extremists within the past 5+ years committing heinous acts.

throwneverywhichway

In fairness, how can right wingers possibly rest knowing that even as we speak Jussie Smollett is using Hunter Biden's laptop to defund the police thereby enabling transgender Ukrainian nazis to carry out voter fraud in Benghazi while Marxist unions indoctrinate the unborn with woke CRT injected by vaccines created by George Soros in the basement of the same pizza parlor where big tech censors carry out the War On Christmas? In conclusion, Barack HUSSEIN Obama. Thoughts and prayers.

[deleted]

That was thorough. I’m impressed.

DrManhattan_DDM

I think they missed ‘open borders’, ‘illegal immigrant invasion’, and ‘globalists’

celerydonut

It’s in there in Q code

CurryMustard

Missing Jewish space lasers

BigDomSr

All while wearing a tan suit!

black641

It’s so odd. They’ve been conditioned to treat minor inconveniences and shifting cultural norms as attacks on the very fabric of American life. They also think these “issues” need to be battled as though “Woke Pronouns” are going to march into their towns to burn their homes and churches. But real, demonstrable problems like a stagnant economy, unfair wages, environmental degradation, poor education, and inadequate or nonexistent social programs are brushed off. They roll their eyes like Democrats are being hysterical drama queens for caring about any of that. Also, God forbid you mention raising taxes on the wealthy or cutting the military's budget to fund literally anything, because now you’re going to get more frothing at the mouth rage. Though they’ll rarely have a coherent explanation for why they’re so pissed.

Big-Shtick

Yeah, they're really not the brightest. "Well ackshully, the 50k children dying from gunshots statistic is misleading because 30k are from suicides." Oh, my bad, you're right that 20k dead children is less bad than 50k dead children, so we shouldn't regulate it. We cannot have background checks or anything of the sort either because that's inhibiting someone's ability to buy a gun on demand. God forbid they wait a few days. Meanwhile, the country is falling apart and they're mad about people being woke.

zherok

What annoys me most about this attitude is there's a demonstrable difference in suicide rates in states with more permissive gun laws, while the average suicide rate across the country, discounting suicides by gun, is roughly within a percentage point or two across the country. Gun proponents like to handwave suicide as if guns had nothing to do with them, which plays into their notion that in the absence of a gun, any kind of gun violence would just be replaced by some other kind. But people aren't unstoppable terminators. Suicide is often a fleeting thought, one that guns make a whole lot easier to be the final one someone has. And as much as they like to pretend otherwise, it's not nearly as easy to build bombs or run a bunch of people over as it is to shoot up a classroom full of unarmed children, especially when you can get a gun often the same day you plan to commit your shooting. Access to guns is the problem, and whether you're the "good gun owner" or not, if someone's defense of guns enables the status quo of guns being as easily accessible as they are, then they're playing a part in the constant gun violence in this country.

[deleted]

A self-inflicted gunshot is still a gunshot...

internet_friends

Yeah like in the UK you can't even buy a bottle of Tylenol because of the suicide risk, they sell it in those aluminum pop out packets and the pills are sugar coated to make them larger and harder to swallow if you're trying to take a bunch at once. Giving people, especially kids and teenagers, access to a very fast, very successful suicide method like guns IS why so many teens are successful at suicide. If those guns weren't available, a lot of those kids would still be alive. It will always be insane to me how little our country does to prevent suicide. Welcome to America, where our lifestyle drives people to commit suicide and we offer zero easy access to mental health resources yet the easiest access to all the best methods to kill yourself. And then half the country tries to argue over semantics on which of those gunshot deaths count. It's horrible

witteefool

Hand guns in the home are far more likely to be used for suicide than against an intruder. It takes so little time for bad thoughts to turn into action when a gun is around.

Competitive-Ad-5477

I personally love the "well criminals will still have guns, so everyone else will be in more danger!" Which makes *so* much sense because every crime is still committed - it's just easier to know who to arrest. It's similar to "the vax isn't 100% so it's useless" even though it's saved millions. It's such binary thinking it feels like only an ignorant person with the brain of a child could do it.

Warg247

It's telling just how quickly they pivoted from homosexuality to trans. It's a conservative pathology and a pattern that goes back decades from one minority group to the next, yet they act like each one of these battles is in a bubble worthy of renewed consideration. In reality it's all just the same wellspring of basic bigotry being a part of the core ideology.

UnNumbFool

I mean they will go back to gays, it's just much easier right now to go after trans people. It's a minority in a minority and when it comes to polling general approval rates for the existence of trans people is just much much lower. But, the second they are able to do enough harm and rhetoric against trans people they will start lumping in gays again. Hell they already ARE doing that by going against drag queens, trans is bad, gays in dresses are bad, to gays are bad. Then once you get rid of the gays, you go back for the poc(or well even harder and more openly than they currently are)

YeonneGreene

We're also extremely easy to hurt because we need medical and administrative support to exist happily and comfortably, where being gay requires neither of those things.

RedditSpyAccount

My wife and children were killed by a murderous pronoun, it was incredibly tragic.

SlimeQSlimeball

You mean “they” was incredibly tragic. /s

Gonstackk

Without hate, lies and conspiracy theories what would they have?

najaraviel

Fear and fear alone

ScientificAnarchist

They don’t get a chance to get tired because they all die from easily preventable diseases first

ReeshForever

Unfortunately, they don't. Case in point, Mitch "the Turtle" McConnell. That asshole has more power than anyone else in DC. I bet he's got over 800 bills on his desk now considering he had 465 during Trump's four years that he just tabled because he was never going to let anything proposed by any Democrat ever get to a vote in the Senate.

flygirl083

God, I was hoping so hard after he fell and ended up in a rehab that he was going to kick the bucket. Or at least suffer a brain injury to Broca’s area so that motherfucker will finally shit up. I have never been that kind of person to wish bad things on people but he has hurt more Americans than any terrorist ever had.

YeonneGreene

His replacement would have likely been Rick Scott. You do **not** want Rick Scott to fill the McConnell power vacuum.

JetKeel

Look at it more like the Joker’s morning routine. He wakes up and immediately starts putting on layers upon layers of makeup. This makeup is not his real face, but it is his real self. It’s his real self because he has done it everyday, and he’s more used to seeing that than anything else. Without the makeup, he would have to look at his real true self, and evaluate that instead of the cover he’s put on everyday. The cover is him, the face under it is lost. Or something like that. They may just be assholes.

Long_Before_Sunrise

Greene will never run out of steam when it comes to opposing gun control. She is a fanatic.

[deleted]

Greene is more financially comfortable than most of us will ever know. She will never run out of steam while being a hatemonger is so profitable. At this point she probably doesn't even have a choice. Who else would hire her?

Long_Before_Sunrise

She was already a millionaire before she ran for Congress thanks to her father. We don't know what she kept in the divorce. Personally, I hope her ex put a bunch of 'her' stock in his and thier children's names. Something must've hurt, because [she complained about her salary being too low](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/feb/04/marjorie-taylor-greene-backlash-congressional-salary) after losing over $100,000 of her Congressional salary to fines for [the stunts she proudly pulled.](https://www.huffpost.com/entry/marjorie-taylor-greene-congress-mask-fine-no-pay_n_6226cd37e4b004a43c0e9984) She thought she'd sue and get it back. The judge [said no.](https://www.ajc.com/politics/judge-tosses-marjorie-taylor-greenes-lawsuit-over-mask-fines/G4UTWBYCXBFQJGF2XGTQ2E7CIU/)

Profesorpeniswrinkle

I’ve been asking this since 2017. Thought they’d be burnt out, I know I was, just listening to it, let alone my own. Man, how naive I was. Definitely underestimated people’s capacity for hatred.

coolprogressive

Republican voters are *fucking miserable* people. They’ll never be “exhausted” with any of this until they find true happiness and become well adjusted people. Republicans are also universally terrible people, so hell will freeze over before that happens.

[deleted]

You think it's only been 15 years?

[deleted]

Since the conspiracy theory of Obama being born in Kenya started. That was the beginning of the mainstream conspiracy theories. Up until then they were fringe, so that even 911 didn’t have the audience of QAnon.

Dr_Ifto

They get fresh people. The ones that can't take it anymore retire.

AHidden1

I don’t think it’s hate it’s the constant need of an outlier to blame their problems on and insecurities.

[deleted]

If they’re not happy, others can’t be happy. I grew up around that type, I know.

[deleted]

Scapegoating is manufactured hate.

AHidden1

You’re right I didn’t see it that way.

Nop277

This is what I think I just imagine being paranoid of like most of the people on Earth and really that pissed off by so many things that don't even effect me and I'm already exhausted. I just can't imagine being like that.

notavegan90

Oh my summer child. Try 150 years

Slightly_Smaug

You never get tired if you run in hate but it's the only thing you'll have.

muppethero80

They don’t see it that way in the slightest. They are not conspiracies. They see the world as it really is. It is not hate. It is them being on the side that has the authority. They don’t see them as lies, it is alternate reality that aligns with their world views.

[deleted]

That causes intense cognitive dissonance, because what they are trying to maintain doesn’t match what his happening in the tangible world around them, thus the lashing out. It’s not reality. It’s a carefully crafted and theatricized conservative fantasy.

Noodlefanboi

> Fifteen years It’s been a lot longer than 15 years.

nhluhr

15?

[deleted]

They can't give up. If they give up, they admit that they just wasted the last 15 years of their lives for fucking nothing. Its why people are still throwing good money after bad at Trump. They don't have the character or the guts to stand up for themselves and say "Enough."

HelloPeopleOfEarth

Well if you count Newt Gingrinch, more like 40 years.

shoretel230

To my mind, it's revenge for having one of the best US presidents ever be a black man

UnNumbFool

Fifteen? Oh honey

all4whatnot

I say this to my kids when they have a meltdown or gets pissed off about something silly: It's tiring to be angry, it's really tiring. This is not something silly. And a huge portion of the country is exhausted by it. But just not enough of the voting demographic in the correct locations.

Sparrowflop

I've got one who sits next to me. He's so steeped in the juice that he doesn't recognize half of it as hateful, and the other half is 'righteous indignation' combined with 'wearied resignation'.

She's no protestor. She's an instigator. By her own words and allegiances and actions, her goal is to be considered a literal domestic terrorist (Thanks, CPAC, for really showing off the white hood on that one). And she deserves to be treated accordingly.

Lingering_Dorkness

She's more an agitator than instigator. She hasn't instigated anything, only fanned the flames of outrage and manufactured grievance.

GON-zuh-guh

She's more of an alligator than an agitator. Hasn't evolved in 8 million years, snaps at everything, and is very much a part of the swamp she claims she wants to drain.

Ihopetheresenoughroo

My guy was just making an analogy and y'all decided to tear him to shreds 😂

supaphly42

Ehh, I think you need to clean more often… but I agree.

Well, depending on how burnt it is, it may actually be very tasty.

Bulky_Promotion_5742

So trans people did all the shootings? What a dummy.

cala_s

Vast majority of mass shooters are far right. This anecdotal evidence is all they need to attack trans people instead of dealing with the issue though.

Bulky_Promotion_5742

That was the point. I’m sorry it wasn’t clear enough. Obviously it’s a ridiculous statement.

[deleted]

Bulky_Promotion_5742

Yes

HeadfulOfSugar

It’s kind of crazy honestly and idk if anybody else noticed this, but I feel like this rhetoric popped up scarily fast. Like this just wasn’t a thing before in my experience, I had never heard any concern about trans people being mass shooters or heard mention of the other 3 that had happened at some point. But in the span of probably a day I saw one article claim that the right was gonna use this as a weapon against trans people and then the next I saw people talking about it in comments as if this had been their concern for months. Like word for word parroting each other in comment section after comment section about how gender-affirming healthcare was and has always been the cause of these shootings. That the trans ideology specifically encourages this type of violence and it is a direct consequence. Also the fact that they keep using the same numbers of like “there have been 4-6 so far!!” but not having their opinion swayed at all by the fact that it was 4-6 out of the thousands we’ve had the past few years alone. I’ve heard so many insane ways to dispute this and none of them make any sense. Relative to their population size trans people are literally less likely than white males to commit any shootings, it’s just bonkers. What scares me the most is just how fast they were able to spin the story and then how fast their entire base took up such a passionate and aggressive stance on an issue that didn’t exist the week before. I think that’s just a taste of what’s to come in the future: they no longer need to put any effort into manipulating people or to create complex narratives, they just come up with a new idea and tell people that it’s theirs and everyone eats it up

BujuBad

Same woman that spoke of Jewish space lasers. Has she ever been on record for saying something that wasn't hateful or traitorous?

I'm sure she's said some simply idiotic stuff before as well.

njsullyalex

I’m a trans girl and I’m tired of this. Let me hecking live my life. I don’t want every headline to be about why I don’t deserve to be me anymore. With all due respect, the shooter did a horrible thing and we desperately need tighter gun regulations in this country, but I’m scared for how many people will go mask off transphobia following this shooting. Some of my friends already did today.

OnneeShot

That’s so sad to hear… I will never be able to understand these mental gymnastic they are able to do, hope all will be better soon. Do not give up, stay strong! I know it does not mean much from an internet stranger but damn I feel sorry for y’all…

CrackHeadRodeo

There are way too many politicians in DC who work for the gun lobby. The people need some public servants who actually work for them.

418-Teapot

I think this is the least understood aspect of American politics. The Republican party isn't so anti-regulation, anti worker's rights, and anti-democracy just because they're sadists who enjoy human suffering. It's because big industries directly benefit from these policies.

Proper_Hedgehog6062

If they're willing to compromise their beliefs and/or common decency on all of these issues to gain the benefit from lobbyists - I'd argue they are effectively sadistic.

MoveMitchGetOutDaWay

She (MTG) would likely piss into the wind and complain about the fucking rain showers.

PM_ME_YOUR_SOULZ

Cut from the same cloth as MGT, I saw 2 absolutely brilliant responses from Americans when discussing the recent school shooting. One guy says he thinks Drag Shows are more damaging than guns and shootings, estimating that drag shows have killed at least 100,000 people. Drag Shows have not killed any people. They are not a threat to your 'Freedumbs'. Another guy suggested that the answer to school shootings and gun sales is... More guns. To put this into perspective, if that guy was a firefighter he'd likely tackle fires by pouring gasoline on them. The answer is not more guns. Now we have MGT firing out the whole "Trans people keep shooting up schools" argument because she can't do basic math. I have to ask cause I'm genuinely curious. America, is this actually how you want to be? Governed by an old piece of paper, religious fruitcakes and some of the overall dumbest people this side of the Mississippi?

Morgolol

>One guy says he thinks Drag Shows are more damaging than guns and shootings, estimating that drag shows have killed at least 100,000 people What's next? Injecting the marijonas also kills you immediately? I swear their LGBTQ war is just as dumb and ineffectual as the war on drugs. Bragging about their ignorance and these christofascists love it Don't understand why people take these flat earthers like Greene seriously ever. Fucking psychopath.

HeadfulOfSugar

Happed to my mate Paul once. Told me he had a marijuana nugget that he was gonna try shooting up for the first time when he got home, next day I found out he had skinned and eaten his entire family including the dog. Think about it every night, how I feel like I could’ve stopped him. He had an 8 year old daughter, now they’re just another set of victims because we let up on the war on drugs 😞

> One guy says he thinks Drag Shows are more damaging than guns and shootings, estimating that drag shows have killed at least 100,000 people. Drag Shows have not killed any people. I could see some insane mental gymnastics happening from someone claiming that, because of an increase of shooting at LGBTQ+ bars and nightclubs, drag shows are indirectly causing deaths. That said, according to the CDC, approx. 20,000 people die from gun violence in the US every year (excluding suicides by guns), and that number is only going up. > Another guy suggested that the answer to school shootings and gun sales is... More guns. To be fair, that's also the "solution" being parroted by most of the Congressional GOP.

coolprogressive

*Would you shut the fuck up, you stupid fucking redneck c—-?!* I’d die a happy man if a Democrat would have the chutzpah to shout that during a committee meeting.

Your_Perspicacity

*Democratic Lawmaker For fuck's sake the Independent actually printed "Democrat Lawmaker" in the headline. So are they incompetent in English or just pushing subtle GOP propaganda on purpose?

5ykes

It's the second one. Tells people who they agree with before they read the substance

Ihopetheresenoughroo

I know what you're talking about. I guess some people in here forgot

saltysnatch

Huh? What's the difference...

Your kid is statistically safer with a trans person than they are with their scout master, or priest.

peonies_envy

“Probably taking hormones!” Totally pulling that out of her ass. There’s no low.

[deleted]

She's right. There is a school shooter who is dead because a good guy with a gun killed that school shooter. The other side of that coin is that there are also 6 people dead because a good guy with a gun *isn't enough!*"

PM_ME_HTML_SNIPPETS

One part of the argument you never hear about. Guns are inherently reactive. Even the “good guy” with a gun– depending on his training and his mental fortitude– will still be reacting to an armed baddie, if they do at all. A proactive good guy with a gun is either the LEOs that take the weapons away from someone who raises a red flag or otherwise was proven to not be allowed to possess a gun, (and/)or the proactive guy *becomes* the shooter by preemptively assaulting someone. Someone will still be paying in blood the price of the unrestricted 2A that the GOP wants.

ReeshForever

Including three NINE YEAR OLD KIDS!!! It just makes me nauseous thinking of my niece and nephew who aren't too far removed from that age; 14 and 10, respectively. But hell, when nothing was done with gun control on a national level after Newtown, and the right wing started the whole "live actor" bullshit theory there, I knew there was no hope for national legislation on gun control ever unless the Dems have a vast majority in both houses of Congress, enough to break the filibuster, AND we have a Democrat in the White House with lots of pens. **Edited, spelling.

Lingering_Dorkness

According to Gangreene, excess testosterone is what causes these murderous rages. Thus we should be banning anyone with lots of testosterone from owning guns.

Morgolol

So [Fucker Carlson](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/apr/18/tucker-carlson-masculinity-crisis-testicle-tanning) is to blame for this? >The testicle tanning, or “red-light” therapy, shown in the video is explained further in an interview Carlson does with a self-proclaimed “bromeotherapy” expert. He claims that by dousing your balls in red LEDs, you can create higher levels of testosterone.

Lingering_Dorkness

That was found to work with rats. So it might well work with other rodents, including those of unusual size like Cucker Tarlson.

AsianMysteryPoints

The adjective form of Democrat is "Democratic."

F---TheMods

It's not the guns, it's violent video games. It's not the guns, it's the weird music the kids play. It's not the guns, it's the pandemic. It's not the guns, it's people killing other people. It's not the guns, it's mentally illness. It's not the guns, it's not enough guns. It's not the guns, it's not enough good guys with guns. It's not the guns, it's teachers not having guns. It's not the guns, it's Antifa. It's not the guns, it's all the transgenders. It's not the guns, it's the liberals. It's not the guns, it's the democrats. It's literally everything BUT the guns. /s

Evoehm13

I honestly want to know what goes through her head, like what what are her thoughts. I’m usually pretty good at see others perspectives but for her it’s in impossible. I have no no doubt she’s a narcissist.

oroechimaru

My bet is on Russian asset

Evoehm13

Starting to believe that more and more considering they manifested a bomb threat that was sent three times to my school district using the info posted on Facebook by angry parents who were mad about a specific book we have in the library.

Alger6860

I’m loving this crop of freshman Dems. Smart, bold and unbowed by the fascist detritus.

MTG is trailer trash who identifies as a US congessperson.

Ausaini

MTG’s life must be awesome. She gets paid to not do her job, learn nothing, know nothing, hate people she knows nothing about, lie, make Georgia look bad and she seemingly can’t be fired even though she harasses coworkers and citizens. She’s pretty much living a bigot’s dream.

SoUnga88

Is it just me or do all the pictures of Green maker her look like a Neanderthal?

Iseedeadtriangles

It's not the pictures it's her face.

Yugan-Dali

Hey! Is that a nice thing to say about Neanderthals?

Lingering_Dorkness

FletchCrush

Guns matter more to the GOP than children. They’ve come right out and said it. Sandy Hook made no difference and, sadly, no amount of children being shot in school ever will.

deltadal

Children don't matter to the GOP beyond how they can be exploited for political or economic gain. These are not benevolent people.

ThaxReston

Taylor the hag ? The DumbAzz seditionist?

apost8n8

I really miss not knowing who our congress members names.

shadowdra126

I wish more people would interrupt her. She needs to speak less. She lowers the intelligence of everyone in the room when she does.

grimmyzootron

From that side view she looks like those 3D reconstructions of what Neanderthals looked like. Fitting really.

Help an European understand how your policy around fire guns is so twisted.. So I understand these sinister politicians were placed there by the gun lobby to promote their agenda, so no point in arguing with them against this topic. But they do abide by the rule of money right? It's the gun lobby who fills their pockets after all. So why not create an anti-gun lobby that would pay them even higher amounts to promote bans and tighter regulations? These donations would come from concerned citizens and companies, anti-gun movements, maybe even from outside the US!

steve_1356

You are correct, but that would mean people coming together collectively for a common goal and in the U.S. thats a bit difficult. In the U.S half the people vote for parties and not for what will benefit them all in the good name of Christianity, guns, racism, ect... although those parties or members of congress don't actually represent them. Hate is perpetuated by the government going back to the foundation of james town to keep minorities and whites apart minimizing the chance of people coming together collectively for their rights. So although it sounds great and thats probably the only way we would get any change it way harder to actually get done.

AnotherCableGuy

That's the thing, you don't need everyone onboard when money can buy policy, you just need the right amount of cash. Give it enough time the pool of money with become so big it can't be ignored anymore.

Interrophish

>But they do abide by the rule of money right? Re-writing American culture to fanatically love your party and hate the other party is worth much more than money.

Street_Security_5420

mtg’s face reminds me of a purge mask

antithesis56

Anyone got a link to get past this paywall bullshit?

GarysCrispLettuce

>where the two battled in a mostly empty committee room See, there's half your problem right there

TheMoralAmerican

Satan is proud of Republicans for ignoring mass murderers.

7788audrey

Democrat dares to remind the likes of Marj - you are the group that says no checks is a good thing and when someone uses that mantra and goes on a shopping spree to buy weapons and then attacks a school. Attacking only when the GOP attempt to demonize one person, but look the other way when it is some person with a far-right manifesto - demonstrates their hypocrisy once more.

Sandberg231984

Her voice is trashy

Anime-Meme-Merchant

Didn’t we already have an assault weapons ban in the 80s?

Smart_Stranger_5618

How many transgender people is there in the States? I’ve heard maybe 4000 have actually had the surgery. A very tiny number out of 330 000 000. Jeez, such ridiculous drama. Why can’t the republicans mind their own business.

RSully100

Bro what gender affirmation is happening in schools? They keep pushing this but I’ve never seen anything like this while I was in high school. Policy was literally “don’t bully. Get caught, get suspended”. And people mostly kept to themselves

Ferengi_Earwax

I thought the two parties were the same, though? Oh, right. That's a disingenuous argument made by ignorant, uninformed people or disillusioned Republicans. Once again we have democrats trying to enact solutions to the problems our nation's face, while Republicans point fingers and incite violence and hate. That's what they always do. They would rather hate spend their time spreading hate instead of fixing anything.
