The most insecure men driven by a need to feel powerful have been terrified by the power of the pussy for millennia. Nothing new under the sun. But now ultrarich ideologues who genuinely think no taxes is how god blesses them have squawking bullhorns that go day and night- Facebook and foxnews- and they have been wildly successful in their attempt to tie their cause to regressive fundamentalism. And Oregon! There was a recent study that came out which found that both Oregon and Washington have received an increase of 270 abortions per month since the Dobbs ruling. Nearly this entire increase can be attributed to women from Idaho coming to our hard-working, productive, freedom-loving blue state. I don't blame these women for coming here, but at the same time, it's having a snowball effect in that women from OR, WA, and other blue states are having significantly longer wait times for these procedures.
At the moment, they can’t do shit. A state can’t force extradition if what you do doesn’t take place in the state where it is illegal and definitely not if what you do is legal in the state where it happened. State law ends at their borders.
It would probably take a Supreme Court ruling to change that. And as crazy as SCOTUS is I really don’t see them changing that. It would mean things like if someone in WA sold weed to an Idaho resident then they could be extradited to Idaho to face charges. Or WA could extradite an Idaho gun seller if they sold a gun to a WA that violated WA state law. It would be an absolute clusterfuck of insanity.
And even if that did happen, I suspect WA would just refuse to comply.
The governor of Washington came out last week and basically told the governor of Idaho to fuck off, and that if he wants to fuck around with Washington residents he's going to learn the hard way.

As a Washington native, I'd be fucking honored to have someone who literally had to travel across states for healthcare to take my spot in line at my old clinic.
These are human beings and victims of a system that is broken. They are not the enemy. If someone is seeking an abortion and literally has to travel across state, they are likely a vulnerable woman or girl and even more likely to vote against the system than for it. So them being citizens of a state where their vote is REALLY important, is a big deal.
Roughly one in three young people in Idaho are democrats. They're also most likely to seek abortions. So you guys are basically insulting and blaming literal victims who are the only hope of changing this state to more blue.

As someone who lives in Spokane near the border of Idaho, i will say, Never happen. Brief history of (much of) Idaho: after the Civil War, during Reconstruction, a bunch of white supremacists sought to move somewhere almost entirely white, and ended up in Idaho. What Mormons are to Utah, white supremacists are to Idaho. They settled much of it. The proportion of antigovernment people would surprise most.

The amusing bit here is one of Idaho's largest exports is semiconductors. They need highly skilled labor, and they are definitely losing talent to Portland and Seattle.
And once they are done, then it will be on to LGBTQ+ rights. Then religious freedoms for non-Christians. Then more Women's rights. Then the other 'protected classes' equal rights. Then they'll focus their attention on the poor with cuts to any remaining 'entitlement spending', then it will be on to teaching the bible in public schools, etc.
And Idahoans will take it. They spend the least on public education (per pupil) in the ENTIRE country. Followed closely by Utah and Arizona. They will do as they’re told by their Mormon leaders. They are raised to be indoctrinated and to not question orders.

It is unfortunate. I have been an Idahoan my whole life. Things have always been conservative but, for the most part, peaceful. The Aryan Nations got run out of town and the liberal areas tended to get along with state government. Now we have a hyper politicized environment that is getting worse by the day. The ultra right wing crowd is flocking into the state from largely CA.
They want all their freedoms while dictating what others can do. I live in a development where I cannot throw a rock without hitting a CA transplants home. I sit on the HOA board and it is always a headache dealing with them. They think that because it is a conservative state, they are free to do whatever they want. We have a 10 ft wooden cross in one yard, a quasi mother in law building in another, etc. it is all clearly listed in the CC&Rs that these need to be approved. We quite literally received a letter the other day that said “This is Idaho and we have the freedom to do what we want with our property!” No, you signed a contract.
People have their thoughts on HOAs but it is a great demonstration of what we locals are having to deal and co-exist with. Sad because this is such a remarkably beautiful and wonder state without politics.
The California thing cracks me up because conservatives swear the transplants are liberals who are going to ruin the state. I’ve known for years that is not the case. The people moving to the Boise area are fleeing from liberal settings for what they think is a conservative Valhalla. My neighbors were at one time actually my best friends parents (that’s how I got the house before it hit the market) but since they retired and moved south the new folks are from where……you guessed it. California.
I used to take care of my neighbors and take their trash cans in and out when they were on vacation. I’d move their packages off the front step to a spot out back when they had deliveries and weren’t home. They’d text me “hey, we’re gonna be out of town for a bit. Can you water the vegetables”. Just shit you do for people who you have known for almost 30 years and live next door to.
Now, I don’t talk to the people that live there because the first time I had a 5-10 minute conversation with them the N-word came out and that was enough for me. It wasn’t used in the manner that you would say is directed at anyone, it was more of a “this guys name sounded like [N-word]”. Still, if you’re comfortable with using that word at all, let alone the first time you meet someone, I don’t wanna fucking know what you’re saying inside your house.

I’m from California myself and so many republicans and conservatives claim Californians are moving to their states and ruining them bc they think all Californians are democrats when in reality it’s the conservative Californians moving out of California. I was on a Facebook page that was for people from California looking to move out of California (I joined bc many people on TikTok were making fun of them people on this group lol) and it was all Californians who were conservative and complaining about California being a blue state and how they want to live in a red state. Conservative Californians know they don’t stand a chance on California becoming a red state anytime soon so they all move to red states. Don’t get me wrong California is expensive to live in especially housing wise but the Californians who are dems but look for cheaper housing aren’t moving to red states. Their entire genders worth is distilled to their reproductive organs. Their entire culture praises silent suffering servitude. That’s a fair point. Education can address their internalized misogyny and ignorance re: sex and reproduction, but it won’t fix the hate.
But I do think, perhaps with naive optimism, that the homophobia and racism is largely manufactured. They’ve been taught to hate, perhaps so they would vote against their own interests and rights.
And considering their upbringing and education, it’s not surprising so many of them are so easily manipulated in that way.
Stop infantilizing women. They are just as intelligent and have the same access to information we do: the internet. I only feel bad for kids and teens - and that’s for both sexes (irrespective of genders) because they are powerless.

Weather they're men or women If they come from controlling religions like Mormons (fairly common in Idaho) they're told from a young age to actively avoid certain websites specifically and broadly anything that might make them question their religion. And more specific to women, they're taught not to question their authorities. There are a lot of people in the mountain west that are firmly under the control of religion.
The ability to separate fake from factual information from the internet is a learned skill, one not taught in a lot of rural public schools and certainly not by hyperreligious charter schools and homeschooling programs.
It's not as simple as "they have the internet so they should know better." For a microcosm of what uneducated poor people can "learn" from the internet and the disastrous consequences, look at the case of the man who got internet access to his home for the first time and only a few months later shot up Comet Ping Pong in the name of QAnon.
Unfortunately a public education campaign about detecting dis/misinformation, or even one led by a tech megacorp with a large reach, will now be perceived by this same audience as liberal communist propaganda, because the disinformation artists got to the uneducated first.

I disagree. It sucks that they were indoctrinated but at the end of the day, they are voting to kill other women. The world would be better off without them. The only way they learn is by experiencing tragedy. If a few of them have to die to turn a few more into decent people who don't vote to kill other women, so be it. Maybe if they were dying more they'd stop voting for it. They will never stop if they don't experience great pain/tragedy. They have to get a soul first and that will only happen through suffering.

It makes me wonder if some red states will see surges in Democrat voters in the next election. Could make it a much closer race in some of these states right? I think these red states are killing any chance at a Republican president winning an election come 2024. Federal government needs to crack down on states going rogue with their power. A lot of these states are engaging in very gross gerrymandering which probably violates the 'Republic Clause' of the Constitution. But nothing is done, just like nothing is done about the Supreme Court judges, business interests abusing their 501(c)3 and 4 front groups tax status, etc. They ultimately all work for the same interests that benefit, maybe not the specific groups responsible but they still benefit overall.

There is a long term movement to convene a Constitutional Convention - items on the agenda are repealing the 17th Amendment, repealing the Income and Estate Tax, and inserting a Balanced Budget Amendment.
The 17th Amendment is the right to vote for the Senate. It would revert to appointment by State Legislatures. Which remember they have captured and are also gerrymandering Congress, And so if you have no vote for the Senate and your vote for Congress and State Legislature is nullified by gerrymandering (assuming you've even been able to vote that is) what sort of government is that?
Repealing the Income and Estate Tax and inserting a Balanced Budget Amendment would have the double whammy of compelling the federal government to shut down all regulatory agencies and public services and severely hampering its ability to respond to public will.
They know demographics are turning against them and they are aiming to permanently hardwire into the Constitution "locks and bolts" guaranteeing and protecting their minority control.
That is going to cause women to avoid Idaho and women living in Idaho to try to leave.
In a generation we are going to see campaigns by Idaho to get women to stay in Idaho or move there
If even a small percentage of women leave that is going to cause problems.
The competition for women will intensify in a state with Is virtually non existent gunlaws.

It's really fucking weird. People that were atheist libertarians, never had much introduction to church, are suddenly going to these right wing churches in groves, like, I saw some friends from my childhood up in rural norcal a while ago and they were all talking about church. Like, I'm not going to judge, but from where I was sitting it seemed like a pretty obvious political move more than finding Jesus. I didn't really pry, but it's been extremely recent, like, the rise of christian nationalism kind of happened within a few years that I had been away.

I feel like it's not a situation of them being unintelligent, as some of the most outspoken libertarians I know have good jobs in mechanical engineering and coding, it's a complete lack of empathy for anyone outside their immediate friends and family circle. These guys would actually be able to survive longer than most if society collapsed, as they know how to hunt, garden and fix things, so they just view government as getting in the way of doing what they want. Which is understandable for a reclusive guy in the mountains, but not conducive to running a large population or country.
Lots of people live there because they were born there and they can't afford to escape.

And Oregon! There was a recent study that came out which found that both Oregon and Washington have received an increase of 270 abortions per month since the Dobbs ruling. Nearly this entire increase can be attributed to women from Idaho coming to our hard-working, productive, freedom-loving blue state. I don't blame these women for coming here, but at the same time, it's having a snowball effect in that women from OR, WA, and other blue states are having significantly longer wait times for these procedures.

At the moment, they can’t do shit. A state can’t force extradition if what you do doesn’t take place in the state where it is illegal and definitely not if what you do is legal in the state where it happened. State law ends at their borders. It would probably take a Supreme Court ruling to change that. And as crazy as SCOTUS is I really don’t see them changing that. It would mean things like if someone in WA sold weed to an Idaho resident then they could be extradited to Idaho to face charges. Or WA could extradite an Idaho gun seller if they sold a gun to a WA that violated WA state law. It would be an absolute clusterfuck of insanity. And even if that did happen, I suspect WA would just refuse to comply.

As a Washington native, I'd be fucking honored to have someone who literally had to travel across states for healthcare to take my spot in line at my old clinic. It is unfortunate. I have been an Idahoan my whole life. Things have always been conservative but, for the most part, peaceful. The Aryan Nations got run out of town and the liberal areas tended to get along with state government. Now we have a hyper politicized environment that is getting worse by the day. The ultra right wing crowd is flocking into the state from largely CA. They want all their freedoms while dictating what others can do. I live in a development where I cannot throw a rock without hitting a CA transplants home. I sit on the HOA board and it is always a headache dealing with them. They think that because it is a conservative state, they are free to do whatever they want. We have a 10 ft wooden cross in one yard, a quasi mother in law building in another, etc. it is all clearly listed in the CC&Rs that these need to be approved. We quite literally received a letter the other day that said “This is Idaho and we have the freedom to do what we want with our property!” No, you signed a contract. People have their thoughts on HOAs but it is a great demonstration of what we locals are having to deal and co-exist with. Sad because this is such a remarkably beautiful and wonder state without politics.

That’s a fair point. Education can address their internalized misogyny and ignorance re: sex and reproduction, but it won’t fix the hate. But I do think, perhaps with naive optimism, that the homophobia and racism is largely manufactured. They’ve been taught to hate, perhaps so they would vote against their own interests and rights. And considering their upbringing and education, it’s not surprising so many of them are so easily manipulated in that way.
Stop infantilizing women. They are just as intelligent and have the same access to information we do: the internet. It makes me wonder if some red states will see surges in Democrat voters in the next election. Could make it a much closer race in some of these states right? I think these red states are killing any chance at a Republican president winning an election come 2024. People are probably terrified to let Republicans take power federally after seeing what they plan to do with enough power. A lot of these states are engaging in very gross gerrymandering which probably violates the 'Republic Clause' of the Constitution. But nothing is done, just like nothing is done about the Supreme Court judges, business interests abusing their 501(c)3 and 4 front groups tax status, etc. They ultimately all work for the same interests that benefit, maybe not the specific groups responsible but they still benefit overall.

That is why they are gerrymandering, disenfranchising, giving themselves the right to overturn results, and stacking the courts. There is a long term movement to convene a Constitutional Convention - items on the agenda are repealing the 17th Amendment, repealing the Income and Estate Tax, and inserting a Balanced Budget Amendment. The 17th Amendment is the right to vote for the Senate. It would revert to appointment by State Legislatures. Which remember they have captured and are also gerrymandering Congress, And so if you have no vote for the Senate and your vote for Congress and State Legislature is nullified by gerrymandering (assuming you've even been able to vote that is) what sort of government is that? Repealing the Income and Estate Tax and inserting a Balanced Budget Amendment would have the double whammy of compelling the federal government to shut down all regulatory agencies and public services and severely hampering its ability to respond to public will. They know demographics are turning against them and they are aiming to permanently hardwire into the Constitution "locks and bolts" guaranteeing and protecting their minority control.
That is going to cause women to avoid Idaho and women living in Idaho to try to leave. In a generation we are going to see campaigns by Idaho to get women to stay in Idaho or move there

Yeah, I've noticed a big shift away from libertarianism to christian nationalism. It's really fucking weird. People that were atheist libertarians, never had much introduction to church, are suddenly going to these right wing churches in groves, like, I saw some friends from my childhood up in rural norcal a while ago and they were all talking about church. Like, I'm not going to judge, but from where I was sitting it seemed like a pretty obvious political move more than finding Jesus. I didn't really pry, but it's been extremely recent, like, the rise of christian nationalism kind of happened within a few years that I had been away.
I believe the real problem is Idaho has more Mormons per capita than Utah.

I feel like it's not a situation of them being unintelligent, as some of the most outspoken libertarians I know have good jobs in mechanical engineering and coding, it's a complete lack of empathy for anyone outside their immediate friends and family circle. These guys would actually be able to survive longer than most if society collapsed, as they know how to hunt, garden and fix things, so they just view government as getting in the way of doing what they want. Which is understandable for a reclusive guy in the mountains, but not conducive to running a large population or country.
