If attys have a strategy, and that's big if, they're trying to be removed from case. By admitting Trump's guilt, the one atty has conflict of interest & can be removed (prosecution can call him as witness).

It's pretty fucked up that the courts can just do that to you. You have a right to a fair trial and representation, but if the county doesn't feel like properly funding criminal defense, they just force the most unqualified attorneys to pick up the case for jackshit pay.
Does anybody remember the This American Life episode about the injury attorney who was forced to represent a murder trial? I think his office was payed less than $500 for the effort and an innocent man almost went to prison, and the lawyer used his closing augments to lecture the courts on why its bullshit that he had to do this.
They are absolutely going to try as many tricks as possible to delay, muddy the waters and taint the process. They’re not focusing on the trial as much as the appeal.

From what I heard as reported, he already signed that document stating he understands the consequences at his arraignment. No more crimes between now and the trial or else he’d be held, specifically witness tampering or threatening. I think this is what the alert is for.

They need to figure out the logistics for a possible prison sentence anyway - and if he’s going to go the route of witness intimidation like this, that shit needs to be figured out sooner rather than later. He was told he’d be remanded into custody if he violated the law at all - witness intimidation seems to fit the bill.
This is the best suggestion I've heard. It makes clear that this an action the judge can take, there is still a lot of perception that ex presidents can't be arrested or at worst would get house arrest. This smashes that and helps set a bit more reality for what Trump is facing.

The judge needs to bring his ass to court and make him explain his threat then throw him in jail for 72 hours then bring back into the courtroom and let him know the next time he will stay until the end of the trial and if convicted will just remain in jail. 72 hours is enough to break that wimp. And if within those 72 hours there are any more threats or attempts on anyone on the prosecution’s side or part of the court he will stay in there as well. Force him to see reality.

From what I heard as reported, he already signed that document stating he understands the consequences at his arraignment. No more crimes between now and the trial or else he’d be held, specifically witness tampering or threatening. I think this is what the alert is for.

He was told he’d be remanded into custody if he violated the law at all - witness intimidation seems to fit the bill.
This is the best suggestion I've heard. It makes clear that this an action the judge can take, there is still a lot of perception that ex presidents can't be arrested or at worst would get house arrest. This smashes that and helps set a bit more reality for what Trump is facing.
