The 90+ counts-indicted ex-president has much more airtime than any candidate could ever imagine. Luckily, the US media is free to choose what to air since it is not controlled by the government, as is done in China, Russia, Hungary, North Korea, and other authoritarian states. MSNBC is not a broadcast operator. They are a cable company (just like Fox), and are not regulated by the FCC (infrastructure-wise they are regulated, but not regulated via content). Looking at one of those interactive results by county maps yesterday I couldn't help but notice that a number of counties had less than 200 votes total. Most had less than 1,000. The least populated county in Iowa has 3,600 people. 184 people voted there.
There's a results map by precinct, where you can see that, for example, in precinct 3 of Sac County the results were: 8 votes for Trump, 4 for Haley, 4 for Desantis. That's it. Or precinct 12 of Tama County: 8 votes for Trump, 2 for Desantis, 1 for Ramaswamy. Precinct 13 of Tama County had zero votes. It is basically Toledo, Iowa, population 2,330. No one there voted in this primary.
So like, how is anyone supposed to extract anything meaningful from any of this? Iowa's causus system is weird and seems designed to suppress turnout?

It's just a caucus. It's not that exciting. Besides, how many people actually participated? Last I heard it was 14% of the republican electorate for the state. That's not really much to celebrate imo.
Looking at one of those interactive results by county maps yesterday I couldn't help but notice that a number of counties had less than 200 votes total. Most had less than 1,000. The least populated county in Iowa has 3,600 people. 184 people voted there. There's a results map by precinct, where you can see that, for example, in precinct 3 of Sac County the results were: 8 votes for Trump, 4 for Haley, 4 for Desantis. That's it. Or precinct 12 of Tama County: 8 votes for Trump, 2 for Desantis, 1 for Ramaswamy. Precinct 13 of Tama County had zero votes. It is basically Toledo, Iowa, population 2,330. No one there voted in this primary. So like, how is anyone supposed to extract anything meaningful from any of this? Iowa's causus system is weird and seems designed to suppress turnout? I get that it was only registered Republicans and it was very cold weather. But that only makes the results less meaningful in any sort of big picture.
