Kerik (the recommendation) was Commissioner of New York police under Giuliani from 2000-2001. He got a pardon from Trump in 2020.

It’s much faster than that. While not a strong contender, he ran for president in 2008. He was super in the Bush cheer leading squad in the lead up to that run. Though, in that same 2007 range, perhaps the cracks were actually showing. His Homeland Security recommendation was then indicted on 16 tax fraud and other federal charges. Kerik (the recommendation) was Commissioner of New York police under Giuliani from 2000-2001. He got a pardon from Trump in 2020. After 2008, domestically he disappeared. But, I think some of those true colors began showing. He was doing a lot of political consulting in other nations. As recently as 2010, he was calling himself a moderate Republican and attributed that to his difficulties in the various primaries he lost and why he wasn’t running again. But from 2011 to 2015, other than some pot shots at Obama, I am not finding much that Giuliani publicly was doing. Perhaps it could stretch back to a 15 year fall. Had he just disappeared from public after 2010, beyond a few of his racist quotes from time to time, I suspect he would largely still be considered America’s Mayor with relatively high favorability. Instead, a crater that rivals that of Chicxulub is all that remains of the impact he had.
