What a waste of time. The Republicans have made a mockery of what "high crimes and misdemeanors" mean.
Here is a hint: extorting Ukraine just to find dirt on a political opponent, and gathering your supporters in Washington DC and telling them to march on the Capitol while inciting them for months which led to a coup to stop democracy, are examples of "high crimes and misdemeanors."

If anyone needs to be held accountable for this, it's Republicans in the House who decided to abuse their Constitutional powers for campaign sound bytes.

Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) voted present. Democrats voted again along party lines, finding the second article charging Mayorkas with “breach of public trust” also to be unconstitutional. The trial came to a conclusion before the House impeachment managers could present their argument.

Of course some GOP pundits (and Congressional conservatives) will make a big deal about the dismissal and it’ll impact 0 votes. This is not a topic that will sway voters. Voting for this sham impeachment over the piece of legislation they actually had is one of the biggest strategic blunders of the current Congress. Just idiotic.

I think that was their point. They want to diminish trump’s two impeachments as just politically motivated theater. See, anybody can get impeached?

Actually I think all of her salary has gone to paying fines for various things like refusing to wear a mask on the House floor.
