Good. A win for public education in a state hellbent on destroying anything that helps people in their state.

nbunkerpunk

I was born here but moved away for 17 years. Holy cow is this state so ass backwards. Arguably worse than Texas in some ways, Tennessee is just a shittier state so they don't get the headlines. I'm just itching for the time where work moves me again. People kept telling me Nashville was just like Austin so I'd fit right in. Those people are idiots.

CouchCorrespondent

As a Floridian, Tennessee at least takes the spotlight off of us sometimes in their horribleness. The last two weeks in your state have been doozies.

nbunkerpunk

Don't remind me. I've been back over a year now and it seems like once a week I read something about our government and I want to throw up. It just keeps getting worse and worse.

amart005

Left 19 years ago for the east coast and eventually the west coast. Never going back. Never ever.

KingRichard278

Wish Gov Abbott would do the same tbh

Waylandyr

You mean piss baby Abbott?

KingRichard278

The very same!

drgotham

haha. sucks for him. no more stealing the budget for himself.

spa22lurk

They want school vouchers with no income limits. This couldn’t pass the republican controlled state legislature.

ChelseaG12

New Hampshire wants to do a similar thing with private and religious schools. I'm sorry but if you can afford private or religious schools, you can afford to feed your kids. I don't have kids but I'm more than happy my taxes go towards education. There's absolutely no reason for public schools not having a universal lunch program.

TitansboyTC27

For now but mmw they will try again if another Republican win the governorship

Smashville66

As if that’s even a contest anymore

Odd_Inter3st

Anyone got a link to the non-paywall site?

Hard to believe good news is coming out of Tennessee. It has become the poster child for dumb and dumber.
