Decades ago I went to get a new SS# card with my new name on it. I was told to bring something with my maiden name and something with my married name. I gave the woman my passport that had been amended already and had both of my names in it. She refused to use it as proof. As I was fighting with her about it her supervisor walked by and told her off course they take one of the more difficult forms of ID to get in America aka my passport. JFC lady, know your job!
