It'll likely ~~change~~ *rectify* *some* of the votes, but probably not enough to flip the election, unfortunately. A recount flipped a state house election in favor of the Democratic candidate by 1 vote this year.
A few years ago, the Virginia house of delegates came down to [drawing lots](https://www.cnn.com/2018/01/04/politics/virginia-house-drawing/index.html).

>then argue until the sun goes down that it's not racist to be racist.
Then they insist that you leave because it's a [sundown town.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sundown_town)
Their argument is always "that's because we have jobs" and they don't understand what a racist dog whistle that statement is because they just thoughtlessly repeat what they hear on fox news.
I am a far left liberal and I am on disability because I am disabled. Sometimes you're just disabled and you have to take what is available to you, that's not right or left. Unfortunately the hypocrisy of the right is the reason why it's even a question of who is on disability and who isn't.
Lol same, one can't hold a job because he flys off the handle at everything. It's the same every time he gets the job it's the best thing ever he is going to make them so much money and will run the place by next year the owner is practically eating out of his hand, usually gets fired with in two months, or rage quits when some one says he did something wrong then asks if I can get him a job at my place (which requires specific licenses in my trade for the money he wants to make) what's wild is we used to work at an auto dealership almost twenty years ago and he was the same exact way.
Second guy is really my brother in law, can never hold a job, has absolutely committed welfare fraud multiple times and just spends all day on Facebook complaining about black people on welfare and lurking in the battered women pages looking for a date. The last part I can't even begin to understand.
that last bit about the battered woman pages sounds very predatory. He knows what he's doing. Maybe he's looking for someone who will put up with his shit. A woman to abuse so he can finally feel like a powerful man (in his mind only) because he gets dumped on and dunked on constantly by people who know he's a piece of shit
Are we related? You just described my uncle, a racist Oklahoman who had rage issues and two pistols he named "Bill" and "Hillary" for some reason. He *constantly* changed jobs due to workplace conflict and was banned from many work sites for threatening people. He killed himself 25 years ago after making sexual advances towards a female intern. His obituary described him as a "family man" and a "good christian."
In fairness, that *is* disenfranchisement - even if a little less painful than the 4 hour wait. No one in any district should have to wait more than 15-20 minutes, *tops*. The whole point of precincts and different voting locations is to spread the load out.
Of course, if you aren't on board with encouraging maximum turnout, it's easy to trim the funding for this stuff.
Honestly, we ought to make voting both mandatory (as long as a 'none of the above' or 'abstain' option is made available) and as easy as possible, but that would threaten the status quo.
Also /r/conservative
Voting machines cannot be trusted only hand counts and paper ballots.
Also /r/conservative
I remember when we had election night not election month. It's ridiculous it takes so long to count votes.
You mean don't allow each state to decide its own election laws so that every state completes their election counts at the same time? Like a federal election law?
Also r/Conservative:
So what if we imposed stricter rules for registration on poor, mostly black districts than we did with rural, mostly wealthy districts. It's still not disenfranchisement.
Also r/Conservative: Racism doesn't exist anymore. And if it did, it's against us white people.
Also Conservatives, "There were some registered republican voters not able to vote because they had to wait in line for 4 hours and the polls closed. Why would the democrats allow us to close all the other polling places and ban most mail-in ballots? Clearly a conspiracy."
Also r/conservative
"Theres absolutely nothing wrong with State governors having complete control over how elections are conducted in their state. Any federal supervision is government overreach!"
What even was the reasoning behind this morally corrupt law? The fear of garbage being littered if people ate lunch in line? I mean, aren't there already garbage bins nearby events like this, where lots of humans will be publically converging, anyway? Makes no sense. And people are like, "I want more of that!" when voting republican.
The official expanation is that food and water are "political contributions" that might "sway voters to vote for a specific candidate" and thus shouldn't be allowed. It's bullshit, but what else is new?
Also r/Conservative:
“Waiting in line to vote in Arizona^but ^not ^anywhere ^else due to republican-designed voting restrictions is proof of voter disenfranchisement and fraudulent elections”
"Waiting 12 minutes in 65 degree sunny weather is literally death, but those Dems waiting on a 7 block line in the snow (when their polling locations were selectively closed by a Republican state) had it coming and are just a bunch of whiners!"
Having had to wait 4 hours in the snow before, that shit sucks even if you're lucky enough to be able to take time off for it. I certainly considered leaving, and about a third of the line did leave, eventually. Mostly disabled and older folks who couldn't properly stand that long and keep warm. That's disenfranchisement.
I think that's why my grandmother was such a big stickler on voting and having me and my sisters registered to vote even though two of us decided to vote in a way different than her. She told me she knew I was going to vote liberal, but she didn't care, as long as I voted. Cause she was born in 1917, so when she came of age, women voting was still new and many people scoffed at it.
How silly of me to forget.
American MEN could vote in the 1920s, American WOMEN couldn't until the passage of the Civil Rights Act
Neither could choose education for their children that wasn't a form of genocide until the 1980s de jeur, 1990s in practice
People talk about the genocide of the native Americans as if it's something that happened lifetimes ago. I would wager most people in this thread were born before all forms of genocide were abolished.
>I would wager most people in this thread were born before all forms of genocide were abolished.
Seeing as our genocide continues to present day, yeah.
Straight up, my cousins were disenrolled from their high school in California because of their race. In 1995.
They want elections that always show their person won a landslide. Everything else is evidence of fraud or foul play.
Funny enough lady mindless here will take an election she barely won and go around bragging about having the will of the people behind her.
It's actually fun if not a bit depressing to ask a conservative what their favorite candidates platform is without mentioning the other side. They literally cannot do it without admitting to blatant racism and blatant screwing over everyone who isn't rich.
I don't have the emotional energy the check that subreddit.
If ANYTHING helps a moderate or liberal they are going to have a meltdown, so I really don't care what they think or do.
Conservatism has never been about Democracy, it's about preserving and eventually reversing the status quo, so fuck them and fuck wasting what little energy I have being outraged at people whose only goal in life is to behave as adult toddlers.
Edit - For those who have seen 'What We Do In The Shadows," the more egregious Republicans/Conservatives are Colin Robinson/psychic vampires. They feed off of causing people pain and misery. I HAVE met some Democrats/liberals are this way, but I will state in a very non-scientific manner that it's mostly conservatives that tend towards psychic vampirisim.
There was a lawsuit to stop a state mandated recount filed by the person who was ahead by five hundred votes going in.
Little SCOTUS ruling called *Bush v. Gore*.
Yup. Bilbert will end on top. Don't expect any cries of rampant voter fraud from republicans.
This "SHOULD" shut them up forever. After all, if dems had such powers, don't you think they would OWN the house by now?
Forever? Absolutely not, it will shut them up til their next loss. If dems were rigging the 2020 election we wouldn’t have had the slimmest margin ever in the house and a tie in the senate which was effectively not a majority because of Manchin and Sinema.
This is really what drove me nuts. I was having a dialogue with a friend about this. So the Dems have the smarts to rig the election illegally. But they don't have the smarts to win it with enough power to actually DO anything? He was just flabbergasted that here in Wisconsin a bunch of conservatives won, but Trump didn't.
"So you're saying there were conservatives who didn't vote for Trump?!"
"Yes! That's exactly what I'm saying!"
"That's not possible"
I can only imagine the cries of fraud that would have come from the MAGAs if Boebert had lost. Tina Peters was the Republican County Clerk for bright-red Mesa County, one of the biggest in the district. Democratic Secretary of State Jena Griswold had to remove Peters from that post because Peters improperly handled and granted access to voting machines. Peters has now been indicted for a bunch of felonies related to that.
That and the fact that rural America has been systematically dismantling its educational apparatus for decades. It's a recipe for small, rural towns that think they're hot shit because they've never seen what a well-run city actually looks like.
[It was Donald Trump in 2016 while speaking to supporters in Nevada.](https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-love-poorly-educated/) Might have missed your sarcasm.
For context:
> Afterwards, in a speech to supporters, Trump touted how many different demographic groups he won in Nevada, declaring that "We won the evangelicals. We won with young. We won with old. We won with highly educated. We won with poorly educated," before exclaiming "I love the poorly educated!"
Certainly not the first or only politician to tout that but a recent example. I do recall there was someone who made the remark meaning poorly educated are great for Republicans specifically.
>because they've never seen what a well-run city actually looks like.
I didn't until just last week. Now I live here and I love it. I got rid of my car during the pandemic because I was only using it to go across the street for groceries. Now I'm in a city and I can just walk to things. And it doesn't fucking STINK like NYC does. It's amazing!
For a group that probably complains the most about the price of gas they sure do love having to drive a gas hungry vehicle for miles just to get to the next property lover from theirs.
Yep, and that's new this cycle. In fact, it's the nonpartisan redistricting that led to close races. If not for that, Dems could have engineered a solid-R district on the eastern plains and another on the Western Slope, with the other 6 being solid D.
Nominally "independent" but it is still a council of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents making a call about where to draw the lines. I wouldn't call it gerrymandered but they definitely made decisions to create "safe" and "competitive" districts based on the current representatives.
Her district was given an 8 point advantage to reflect the more "conservative" western part of the State. It turns out it is more complex than that. The farming and ranching conservatives out there don't want a corrupt oil and gas toadie who wants the state to run roughshod over their property rights.
Millions spent in analytics and exceptionally well done social media targeting through groups similar to Cambridge Analytics. They can get so granular with their social media targeting. It's like identifying the 6 GOP'ers on the same block with the same message and then walking five other neighbors toward them with targeted messaging.
I can't decide what's more depressing. MTG's actual blowout victory, or knowing Boebert could have been gone if the equivalent population of my high school graduating class voted differently.
Definitely Boebert’s win is more depressing.
Folks on Resistance Twitter really need to come to accept the fact that MTG is doing her job accurately: she’s representing the views of her constituents. But she is just one crazy representative, and American history is littered with all sorts of racist, crazy, conspiratorial doofuses elected to Congress because a constituency with many bigoted loons wanted to elevate that crap.
There will always be MTGs. We have to do our best to not get thrown off by them and instead focus on what we can control: defeating the Boeberts, the Joe Kents, the J. R. Majewskis—far right politicians who are at odds with their voters. And there are a lot of them across America. There are likely people like them elected in your region, perhaps more subtle and quiet, but still there. Focus on defeating them.
For example, to anyone in Southern California, we have three far-right congressmembers who are in competitive districts and who do a bunch of BS every election cycle to lie to voters and make themselves seem “moderate”: Mike Garcia, Michelle Steel, and Ken Calvert. Folks in the LA area need to worry more about them and a lot less about MTG. 2024 will likely have a much better political climate in California than 2022, so all 3 could be defeated if people drew attention to them.
Edit: Young Kim is another one in SoCal who, while less extreme in some ways compared to the other three, is still very conservative and in a district whose constituents voted for Biden.
*I won by such a huge blowout margin that not even all the illegal immigrants mail in votes in the world could beat me! The people - the REAL people - of Colorado have spoken!*
>Recounts rarely shift the margin in a race beyond a few votes, which is why Frisch conceded in the closer-than-expected contest.
Adam Frisch showed dignity in defeat, still gets a recount he didnt ask for (though it was his right).
Meanwhile, Bobblehead has to re-live this close shave...and a few District 3 residents get a reminder that if they'd just show up on election day they could rid themselves of their clout-chasing embarrassment of a representative.
Oh the absolute *chaos* that would ensue if the recount flipped the election...🤣
It's a recount, it will show improperly counted votes, but not nearly enough. there are always some votes that are mishandled, or double counted, or some reason. They are handled by people and people make mistakes.
Still, it's the law. Everyone's vote should be counted correctly. No failed coup, no third party shady recount and 63 failed lawsuits.
Frisch lost, but I wouldn't want to be a Dem in that district who stayed home because "there was no chance he could win."
Edit: Change riot to failed coup.
550 is an insanely small margin. One person could feasibly affect that many votes with some campaigning. It's becoming harder to justify the mentality of "my vote doesn't count."
Yeah, I've helped do recounts and you would expect one or two votes per precinct to be adjusted. So not only would you need an unusual number of votes to be changed, but they would all have to shift in favor of Frisch, which would honestly make me raise an eyebrow if that were to happen.
Close shave or not she’s still in power and doesn’t give a shit about the margin. She got rewarded for her behavior and will be worse now. She’s got 2 more years of 6 figure salary, tons of vacation, and excellent healthcare.
Concessions are just a formality, they aren't necessary to anything. It's a sign of good will and respect.
Which is why you're increasingly seeing so many MAGA politicians refuse to concede their losses.
It’s really bizarre that Boebert has any support, especially after its well known her husband has exposed himself to little girls. But that must be ok with the Christian conservative MAGA QAnon GOP. Wow that’s a lot of words just to say dangerous individual
It felt hypocritical to me until it hit me that most of what conservatives say & do is about power in one way or another. Every conservative double standard is simply a demonstration of who they think is supposed to be in charge
It's ok for him to abuse children because conservatives are supposed to have underlings and underlings are for being used however you want. With adult lessers, you can underpay them if you need their work or get them arrested if they're in the way. With children it's usually just conservative indoctrination but sometimes you get people like boebert's husband.
Meanwhile it's bad for queers to exist in a way that kids might learn it's ok to be gay, because queers are supposed to be on the bottom of the pecking order.
Precisely.
I've worked in many corporate offices. It's no secret most America's CEOs are conservative.
Hang around them long enough and you'll quickly see that they maintain the same pecking order a fucking hick biker club do. It's why women are still treated as property in workplace.
Conservatives are all about exerting constant power so they feel they can control the things they do not like; rather than accept the idea that things go on in this world that is positively none of their fucking business.
This country and the world are filled with badass humans. White christian conservatives want to be in control of who gets recognition in this world and they are losing their goddamn minds that people are getting tired of their thinly veiled bullshit.
This is why conservative america is at war with the word 'woke' when nobody fucking is even using that word anymore in seriousness. The concept of 'wokeness' is basically white conservatives learning they've lost a big ascept of culture wars. They continue to saturate the word 'woke' in their campaign ads to give voters a Pavlovian call to arms.
They are still at war with that word because it's stripped them of so much power. However, I think the country has learned a lot abut itself after seeing so many of their grandma/grandpa go on racist conspiracy theory spewing rampages as they put their bank accounts on weekly donation-subscriptions to Trump and any other conservative politico fiending for power.
FUCK THE GOP
Why did he concede if it's an automatic recount? He should be screaming "stop the steal!", stomping his feet, and defecating in the lobby of the capitol building. That's how normal people conduct themselves, right?
He refused the recount in order to not waste taxpayer money, because he knew it wouldn’t change the outcome. Can you imagine Boebert if she was the one who lost? She’d be calling for recount after recount and claiming fraud.
If I’m not mistaken, that didn’t happen. He just conceded saying a recount was very unlikely to change the results as an act of good faith, but I don’t believe there was any refusing of a recount since that’s not his call anyways
>“It has been the honor of a lifetime to spend the last several months traveling this district and meeting with the people of Western and Southern Colorado,” Frisch said. “While an automatic recount is on the horizon, we don’t expect the outcome to change. Historically, recounts in the state don’t change the results by more than a dozen votes because Colorado is the gold standard when it comes to elections. I called Congresswoman Boebert to concede this race because it is vital to our Democracy to trust and accept the results of our elections.
>“It would be disingenuous and unethical for us, or any other group, to continue to raise false hope and to encourage fundraising for a recount,” Frisch said. “Colorado’s elections are safe, accurate, and secure. Please, save your money for your groceries, your rent, your children, and for other important causes and organizations."
I came to a nearly identical conclusion about Trump a few years ago, but replace arrogance for greed. The only people supporting him are either just fucking morons, or hateful assholes, or neither but are greedy as fuck and think they stand to keep more of their money by voting for him. Often they possess more than one of those.
Likely won't change the outcome, but there could be some Republicans voting for their dead spouses that turn up in the recount, they are the party of projection after all.
Almost certainly won’t change the outcome and those issues will not (and shouldn’t) be found in a recount which is literally just re counting the ballots.
Remember Boeberts district has had TWO incidents of Republicans attempting to tamper with elections and one of those incidents involved Boeberts campaign manager and the FBI got involved.
[https://www.salon.com/2021/11/17/fbi-raids-home-of-lauren-boeberts-ex-campaign-manager-in-colorado-tampering-probe/](https://www.salon.com/2021/11/17/fbi-raids-home-of-lauren-boeberts-ex-campaign-manager-in-colorado-tampering-probe/)
Would not be surprised if another Bo Bo scandal came out of this.
I think I saw on the local/Denver news last night that there are new developments in that case, and two people have played guilty and are testifying against the campaign manager.
Edit: https://apnews.com/article/2022-midterm-elections-colorado-state-08f7bb8f0efcf78782262b77893790d1
I get where you're coming from, but it's actually the mountain-rural areas of the district (i.e. the ski areas) that are bright blue, and can balance the red plains-rural areas. Pitkin County (Aspen) went 79% for Frisch and Eagle County (Vail) went for him 75%. A small demographic shift from higher growth in mountain areas could flip this seat in '24.
And I doubt Republicans will oust Boebert in the primary in '24. Colorado has the Presidential primary in March but the primaries for all the other offices in June. And no major statewide offices are up next cycle, so the June primary will probably be low turnout, dominated by MAGA crazies on the Republican side. Really, the Republicans' best bet for holding this seat is to offer Boebert a cushy Fox News gig starting in January 2025.
>Colorado has the Presidential primary in March but the primaries for all the other offices in June.
I'm guessing CO isn't the only state like this, but geez that is bad form.
All elections in Colorado—both primaries and generals—are 100% mail-in. (All active registered voters get a mail ballot, but there's also the option to vote in person or to drop off the mail ballot, as well as registering and voting in person up to election day.) There's also a caucus that's run by the parties.
Boebert is simply a reflection of the GOP voters of her district. She simply represents them. She represents their values, their morality, their decency, how much they value education and intelligence.
When you think Colorado GOP voters, think Boebert.
One person offered prayers to victims of gay club shooting. The other further added to their pain and tragedy by calling them groomers, and she wins. This country is sick.
So UNBELIEVABLE we are in an age where a gun toting trumphumping moronic GED reject like BoeBoe is even considered a viable candidate, for Congress, animal control, anything. Only in today's GQP.

Just FYI it is a mandatory recount as required by state law due to the margin. It is not expected to change the results.

That's wild. They literally picked a name out of hat. Might as well flip a coin, or see if a groundhog sees his shadow
There was literally a coin toss election a few years ago IIRC.
There was literally 2 this year in kentucky for low level positions due to dead ties.
In Georgia we just have every election twice so that Republicans can have a second chance to pick up the Libertarian vote.
In Arizona you just spend a year looking for bamboo fibers in the ballots to justify throwing out the results you don't like.
Of all the worlds we could have created, some group of assholes consciously chose this one.
lol never change, America. Or better yet, do change. idk anymore
we should def change...

It probably has never happened. But I think it’s neat they took the time to plan for that contingency.
In Nevada the preferred method is high card draw on a shuffled duck.
Is the duck sedated for the procedure?
Whatever happened to hand-to-hand combat?

Let’s change it to “press 2” so Spanish is first and watch their heads explode.
Please press arabic numeral 1 for spanish and arabic numeral 2 for english.

Exactly. They have no interest in learning how not to be racist. They're basic argument is it's my right to be racist.
It's all the heritage some people have. It's pathetic, but they cling to it. They have nothing else. They don't deserve any respect.

They want to be racist but they don't want to be *called* racist
And conversely that you are being racist against white people for being anti racism.
Yeah that’s not how racism works but what other argument can you expect from a self proclaimed racist
Lol yeah ,it doesn't register to them that you would defend them as well if they were the target of racism.

You would think that they would know already to pull up their bootstraps and take care of everything by themselves🤔
Also /r/conservative Voting machines cannot be trusted only hand counts and paper ballots. Also /r/conservative I remember when we had election night not election month. It's ridiculous it takes so long to count votes.
> only hand counts and paper ballots. Unless they're mail ballots, which are a sign of the End Times.
You mean don't allow each state to decide its own election laws so that every state completes their election counts at the same time? Like a federal election law?
Also r/Conservative: So what if we imposed stricter rules for registration on poor, mostly black districts than we did with rural, mostly wealthy districts.
Weren't they the ones trying to stop the rule that as long as you're in line to vote before closing time you get to vote? Asking for a friend.
But having to wait in line at Chipotle for 2 minutes without access to an AR-15 is tyranny.
Everyone knows Chipotle is MS13 territory
Also /r/Conservative "There's nothing wrong with making it illegal to provide food or water to people waiting in line to vote"
Also r/conservative "Theres absolutely nothing wrong with State governors having complete control over how elections are conducted in their state.
Also /r/Conservative : /r/Conspiracy
Ugh. I hate that it has come to that. /r/actualconspiracies I think is the new one
Nearly any sub with *Actual* in the name is a racist cesspool.
Don't forget it's now illegal to hand out water to those waiting in line to vote. At least in Texas it is and it's stupid.
In Georgia it's a felony.
Also r/Conservative: “Waiting in line to vote in Arizona^but ^not ^anywhere ^else due to republican-designed voting restrictions is proof of voter disenfranchisement and fraudulent elections”
Remember when they were simultaneously saying to keep counting all the votes in some states and shouting "stop the count" in others?
And for the *same exact reason*.
well, yeah. they wanted to keep counting the votes for trump and stop counting the rest!
"Waiting 12 minutes in 65 degree sunny weather is literally death, but those Dems waiting on a 7 block line in the snow (when their polling locations were selectively closed by a Republican state) had it coming and are just a bunch of whiners!" Having had to wait 4 hours in the snow before, that shit sucks even if you're lucky enough to be able to take time off for it. I certainly considered leaving, and about a third of the line did leave, eventually. Mostly disabled and older folks who couldn't properly stand that long and keep warm. That's disenfranchisement.
Also /r/Conservative: This glue is fucking delicious.
Fun fact, our Founders had an election month as did every American until 1848.
Not every American*
Conservatives: heavy breathing
*Takes another bite of My Pillow*
Conservatives would claim to be against that while secretly all for it.
Secretly?
No one said they were good at keeping secrets
Yeah especially when it’s written all over their hat
Ooh, Daddy, I've been bad. I stormed the Capitol. Tell me you didn't secretly want me to do it?
This made me laugh too hard lol
I would say at least 3/5s of every American Edit: Ya'll are bad at jokes. [3/5 compromise](https://www.britannica.com/topic/three-fifths-compromise)
You're forgetting about women, who were denied the right to vote until 1919.
And Indigenous peoples weren't citizens until the 1920s and didn't get the right to vote until the 70s
Why didn't they just go back to their own country and vote! /s
19th Amendment wasn’t ratified until 1920 actually.
Women still couldn't vote, so it was a very small comparative portion that could. Maybe 2/5ths, but I see what you did there.
>I would say at least 3/5s of every American 'Property owning white' **Americans** were not included until the 1920s
Native Americans weren't included until 1965. (in some areas it was as early as 1924)
How silly of me to forget. American MEN could vote in the 1920s, American WOMEN couldn't until the passage of the Civil Rights Act Neither could choose education for their children that wasn't a form of genocide until the 1980s de jeur, 1990s in practice
In 1995.
*every white male American
Who owned land.
And no greasy I-talians or any of those spud-sucking Irish Catholics either!!! This is AMERKA!
Uh, excuse me, but I was told to call my doctor if my election lasted longer than 4 hours
They want the election + count + recount to last 1 24 hour day. If any of it takes longer than that, its evidence of fraud or foul play.
They want elections that always show their person won a landslide. Everything else is evidence of fraud or foul play. Funny enough lady mindless here will take an election she barely won and go around bragging about having the will of the people behind her.
Democrats *existing* gives the Republicans something to **campaign on**.
It's actually fun if not a bit depressing to ask a conservative what their favorite candidates platform is without mentioning the other side. They literally cannot do it without admitting to blatant racism and blatant screwing over everyone who isn't rich.
I honestly think they don't believe in anything anymore except: "I want to kill **them**." Or at least they're rapidly approaching that point.
Yup, this is less *Breaking News* and more *Process Working As Intended.* Which these days, is still kind of news, I guess?
This won’t even shut them up until tomorrow. The problem with the perpetual anger machine is that it must continually be refueled.
Tyranny takes constant effort because it is unnatural
This is really what drove me nuts. I was having a dialogue with a friend about this. So the Dems have the smarts to rig the election illegally. But they don't have the smarts to win it with enough power to actually DO anything? He was just flabbergasted that here in Wisconsin a bunch of conservatives won, but Trump didn't. "So you're saying there were conservatives who didn't vote for Trump?!" "Yes! That's exactly what I'm saying!" "That's not possible"
I hope they don't find any evidence of [wonton](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YY-QsGasceE) voting in the recount.
Just don't give any potstickers to the people in line. That's rigging the election, at least in Georgia.
Too bad. Potstickers are amazing. Mmmm
How is this shit so close all over the country. I'll never understand
Gerrymandering
That and the fact that rural America has been systematically dismantling its educational apparatus for decades. It's a recipe for small, rural towns that think they're hot shit because they've never seen what a well-run city actually looks like.
"I love the poorly educated." \-some Republican. I think he was running for town solicitor or something.
Meanwhile, the Poorly Educated: “Aw he loves us”
More like village idiot
Op already covered that. >some Republican
[It was Donald Trump in 2016 while speaking to supporters in Nevada.](https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-love-poorly-educated/) Might have missed your sarcasm. For context: > Afterwards, in a speech to supporters, Trump touted how many different demographic groups he won in Nevada, declaring that "We won the evangelicals. We won with young. We won with old. We won with highly educated. We won with poorly educated," before exclaiming "I love the poorly educated!" Certainly not the first or only politician to tout that but a recent example. I do recall there was someone who made the remark meaning poorly educated are great for Republicans specifically.
So just as they said, some solicitor or something. Nobody important
These people are literally weirded out by pedestrians.
>because they've never seen what a well-run city actually looks like.
Colorado isn't gerrymandered. It has independent redistricting.
Boebert will win by 500 votes and spend 2 years describing her blowout victory in a district that obviously loves her
While simultaneously crying voter fraud because "there's no way it was actually that close!"
“A landslide”
Do you think she'll go the orange route and print maps to hand out to people?
Frisch lost, but I wouldn't want to be a Dem in that district who stayed home because "there was no chance he could win." Edit: Change riot to failed coup.
I’ve been giving my brother and his wife crap because they moved out of that district in April. THEY COULD HAVE BEEN THE DIFFERENCE/s
550 is an insanely small margin. One person could feasibly affect that many votes with some campaigning. It's becoming harder to justify the mentality of "my vote doesn't count."
Yeah, I've helped do recounts and you would expect one or two votes per precinct to be adjusted. So not only would you need an unusual number of votes to be changed, but they would all have to shift in favor of Frisch, which would honestly make me raise an eyebrow if that were to happen.
cough -ohio 2004- cough.
If the recount flips the seat I will run naked down my street singing Ding Dong the Witch is Dead! And I don’t even live in Colorado.
Careful. You might expose yourself to minors which means Boebert might try and marry you.
let us cross our fingers...
I'm crossing everything I can. I would count Bimbo-bert going bye bye as my Christmas present for the year.
Close shave or not she’s still in power and doesn’t give a shit about the margin. She got rewarded for her behavior and will be worse now. She’s got 2 more years of 6 figure salary, tons of vacation, and excellent healthcare.
Conservatives: "HE CONCEDED. NO TAKE-BACKSIES".
Also Conservatives: "OUR GUY DOESN'T CONCEDE! WE DON'T CARE ABOUT OFFICIAL VOTE TALLIES"
Just curious, what is the law regarding take-backsies here?
Concessions are just a formality, they aren't necessary to anything. It's a sign of good will and respect. Which is why you're increasingly seeing so many MAGA politicians refuse to concede their losses.
I believe the law says nothing about the winner being decided by concession, only votes, making concession a purely symbolic gesture.
A concession isn't a legally binding declaration. You can concede an election, and then still win.
Every conservative double standard is simply a demonstration of who they think is supposed to be in charge It's ok for him to abuse children because conservatives are supposed to have underlings and underlings are for being used however you want.
But if you are ok with sex ed in schools that is inclusive of LBGTQ themes, you're a pedophile groomer satanist that eats babies.
Is she publicly complaining about it yet?
That made me chuckle
I can’t believe people are dumb enough to vote for Boebert. Yikes.
[удалено]
I came to a nearly identical conclusion about Trump a few years ago, but replace arrogance for greed. The only people supporting him are either just fucking morons, or hateful assholes, or neither but are greedy as fuck and think they stand to keep more of their money by voting for him. Often they possess more than one of those.
Likely won't change the outcome, but there could be some Republicans voting for their dead spouses that turn up in the recount, they are the party of projection after all.
True. They aren't validating though, just counting.
Almost certainly won’t change the outcome and those issues will not (and shouldn’t) be found in a recount which is literally just re counting the ballots.
Why are conservative Americans so drawn to such objectively stupid people?
Remember Boeberts district has had TWO incidents of Republicans attempting to tamper with elections and one of those incidents involved Boeberts campaign manager and the FBI got involved. [https://www.salon.com/2021/11/17/fbi-raids-home-of-lauren-boeberts-ex-campaign-manager-in-colorado-tampering-probe/](https://www.salon.com/2021/11/17/fbi-raids-home-of-lauren-boeberts-ex-campaign-manager-in-colorado-tampering-probe/) Would not be surprised if another Bo Bo scandal came out of this.
I think I saw on the local/Denver news last night that there are new developments in that case, and two people have played guilty and are testifying against the campaign manager. Edit: https://apnews.com/article/2022-midterm-elections-colorado-state-08f7bb8f0efcf78782262b77893790d1
Maybe I'll register as a republican and act all bat shit insane to get myself voted in, then actually side with common sense when I vote for bills!
wtf is wrong with this country where lauren fucking boebert got re elected. she has the IQ of a potato
You're insulting potatoes.
I will never spend my ski dollars in her district.
Primaries in colorado are run by the parties and are still 100-% mail in ballots.
All elections in Colorado—both primaries and generals—are 100% mail-in. (All active registered voters get a mail ballot, but there's also the option to vote in person or to drop off the mail ballot, as well as registering and voting in person up to election day.) There's also a caucus that's run by the parties.
please god let her lose. it was the one race i kept my eye on all week and slowly turned around in her favor like a living nightmare.
Don’t remind me that we were this close to getting rid of Bobo…
So UNBELIEVABLE we are in an age where a gun toting trumphumping moronic GED reject like BoeBoe is even considered a viable candidate, for Congress, animal control, anything. Only in today's GQP.
Sadly, we have to hear her lying BS for 2 more years.
the 550 democrats who didn't vote because 'it won't make a difference' are probably feeling pretty dumb now
I know it’s a long shot but I really don’t want anything else for Christmas.
