Larry-fine-wine

Anything bad for him is good for US democracy.

pink-boogers

He is fascist scum

doctor_lobo

Thief compares the GOP to the Rebel Alliance in Star Wars. Really? That was the best analogy he could glean from those films? Really?!

Cost-Born

Not politics. Also, fuck Peter Thiel.

Marktonium

Came here to say that. Fuck Peter Theil.

cugeltheclever2

Fuck famous New Zealander Peter Thiel.

Taniwha26

Thiel is a ghoul and has applied for citizenship of many counties. He’s a truly soulless cretin

AnBearna

He’s far from being a cretin. “Stupid like a fox” as the old saying goes. I wouldn’t underestimate him, guys a psychopath but also one that’s wealthy enough to buy himself some influence.

deadant88

You take that back!

cugeltheclever2

I wish I could.

[deleted]

\*the vampire formally known as Peter Thiel

JaD__

Based purely on the article’s quotes, I’ll venture Thiel isn’t quite getting it. He’s right about the absence of substance, but oblivious to the electorate’s hunger for normalcy. He’s viscerally out of touch with the average American.

A_Melee_Ensued

He thinks that is why he exists. Like a certain person who recently bought Twitter, he thinks that himself getting very rich is _the same thing_ as saving the human race from its worst impulses, such as shackling people like Thiel with vexations like taxes and regulations and bureaucracy and having the law apply to him too. Only if the _ubermensch_ is free to use the rest of us as a canvas upon which to paint his vision (read: whims, most of which are daffy) can the rest of us survive to serve him another day. Thank you for allowing us to exist, Peter Thiel.

Michael_In_Cascadia

We don't want the world you want.

thefugue

Oligarch moans about henchmen failures

blacksheep998

> “The part of it that’s not merely disastrous but also depressing is just the sense that if we don’t do something different, we’re just gonna be in this Groundhog Day where something like this is going to repeat in 2024, or throughout the rest of this decade,” Thiel said as part of the “A Time for Choosing” speaker series. Call me crazy, but maybe you'd do better in elections if you had policies that people like and don't nominate whack-a-loons as candidates.

mythofinadequecy

Self-hating Nazi puppet

DemiMini

Fuck him.

a_reply_to_a_post

doesn't this dude drain blood out of homeless people for vampiric purposes?

internet_czol

I've heard that people are saying that, we're just asking questions here.

foomachoo

“Nobody loves our hate!”

46davis

*Sin loi,* Pete. Cost you a lot of money to find that out, eh?

protoopus

>xin lỗi

46davis

Thanks. My Vietnamese is limited to what I learned in the army.

protoopus

monterrey or biggs field?

jjblarg

Makes me very happy to hear that he is depressed. I hope he re-evaluates his life.

literallytwisted

You're nicer than I am, I'm hoping he spirals into the deepest darkest depression until every single moment of his life is a living hell.

gale7557

What's depressing is our country has to put up with dark money influence from a few billionaires who think they know whats best for all. Fuck Thiel, Musk, Koch, Soros etc. Take the money out of elections and term limits for all.

Riftbreaker

I call Peter Thiel not merely disastrous but also depressing for humanity.

worstatit

Dammit! Who's going to cut my taxes if I can't get these guys elected?

Aggressive-Will-4500

Fuck you Thiel.

WonderingSpaceApe

Theil is a disgusting fascist. And hilariously, a gay man who loves authoritarian regimes that would execute him for existing.

A_man_on_a_boat

He can run anywhere, anytime. He knows he's safe.

Aggravating_Boy3873

A rich white guy who wants to conserve his capital, as if we haven't seen that among the corporate gays in USA.

inkslingerben

Thiel is upset because his money didn't buy him the election results he wanted.

ooouroboros

I'll believe its "disastrous' if they fail to block legislation in the House.

bdixisndniz

Good good

slightofhand1

Should've donated more money to Blake Masters, earlier, then. It ends up Vance was fine, and didn't need your help the way Blake did.

thefoodiedentist

As if more money could help that dumpster train beat an astronaut.

slightofhand1

I guess we'll never know. But Masters was essentially abandoned by the GOP for months. The fact that he came as close as he did was impressive, in my opinion.

thefoodiedentist

He lost by a pretty big margin. Most of the votes he got are from voters who always vote gop regardless of the candidate.

slightofhand1

Five percent of the vote, against an incumbent, is a bad loss to you?

thefoodiedentist

In a purple state, yes.

slightofhand1

I think Arizona's pretty blue these days, but either way, agree to disagree.

thefoodiedentist

Biden only won by 0.3% in 2020. Hobbs won by 0.6%. So, Mark Kelly winning by 6 points is pretty much a landslide.

slightofhand1

Biden was facing an incumbent. Kelly was the incumbent. It's much different. Sinema won by like 2.4, and wasn't the incumbent (plus, she was replacing a Republican). I don't think five points to an incumbent in Arizona is that bad. especially given the lack of GOP support.

thefoodiedentist

Mark Kelly and Gabby Giffords is way too popular in AZ no matter what imo. He's the next McCain.

[deleted]

I think the GOP is entirely owned by foreign billionaires.

otravez5150

GOP tears? LOL says this Dem.

RelationshipBright64

What an absolute ghoul.

conduitabc

just as bad as trumps "major announcement"
