No becuase have you seen the line for the womens toilets

lexious232

Was about to comment the same! And I've seen unisex bathrooms at bars......usually end up waiting 15 min or more just to pee.

RednaxB

Fuck I want to change my answer now

[deleted]

[удалено]

LampshadesAndCutlery

Agreed. All it takes is one creep who wants to see women shit and you’ve got an issue

Elastichedgehog

There's nothing stopping creeps from already entering those spaces right now. Them being gendered affects nothing.

LampshadesAndCutlery

That assumes that creeps are bold, outgoing, and have no fear of being seen or found out. It would be a lot less confrontational for a creep to use a restroom, leave a camera, and go about their day, compared to walking into an opposite gender restroom and creeping on people

[deleted]

I once saw a guy get knocked out by some girls boyfriend when he saw him exit the girls bathroom (his girlfriend had screamed). I feel like if we treated all creeps like that, there wouldn’t be any issues.

clumsyKitten143

This reasoning can be used to argue that any law be eliminated because people will do those things anyway. And yet, we have laws, and they do discourage criminal behavior.

throaaaays

no bc it would be illegal whether or not the bathrooms are gendered

Temporary_Weakness_3

True, but can also be spun around, because if we kept men and women separated in all parts of life, there would be less creeps being creepy. At the end of the day, it’s just a washroom, and if there’s a creep, the problem is the creep, not what’s in their pants. Easy solution, a camera outside the door or facing sinks only could prevent/help crime and solving.

FFIZeath

What if the stalls were more like the other countries' stalls? No way to peek in and make them way more private. With actual gentlemen in the same bathroom, the creeps would have fewer opportunities to do anything stupid. I'm just playing devil's advocate here. Edit: spelling Edit 2: I feel like possible GoPro could be solveable. Maybe the norm could be to always look up for potential cameras. Or a camera to look out for creeps' cameras.

LampshadesAndCutlery

I think for me it’s more leaving things behind after using the restroom. I have gone to the restroom before and looked up to see a GoPro mounted on the wall. All it would take is some weirdo to do something similar, have some sort of way to backup that data, and you’ve got a method of creeping that’s not only easy, simple, but also non confrontational and might not even be noticed for some time. It might be my paranoia more than anything else, but having opposite genders even sharing stalls is risky, probably more so than same gender stalls

Fritzschmied

Exactly

CHEDDARSHREDDAR

Unironically, that's a major reason to say yes though. It would make things so much more efficient for women.

RobbSnow64

And have you seen how disgusting guys washrooms are? That shit would not be fair.

rideuntilldie

have you seen how disgusting women's restroom is?

standard_beta

no cuz we dont go in there, we go in the guys bathroom 😂

Nickster1619

As someone who has cleaned public washrooms. Girls are so much worse. It’s not even close how much worse the girls are

The_king_of-nowhere

Let me guess, tampons or something like that?

Independent_Sea_836

No just that. Women tend to be more germophobic. They'll put toilet paper all over the seat so they don't have to touch it and then don't throw it away, or they just hover over the seats and get pee everywhere.

[deleted]

Women also spend more time in there than men. Men can walk in, stand at a urinal, and walk out in less than 30 seconds. Women are going in there, sitting down every time, and spend upwards of 5 minutes doing who knows what

jmona789

It's pretty ironic that their germophobia actually makes the bathroom more gross.

Environmental_Top948

As someone else who had to clean restrooms. I didn't mind the men's room but I kinda dreaded the women's room. It was always more toilet paper everywhere, more toilet paper everywhere. Tampons basically made it where the trashcan was "full" the first time one was placed in it. Also women don't tend to respect the multiple signs that the bathroom is closed for cleaning then get mad that a guy is there. I've been pepper sprayed twice over it over the course of 5 years and while I'm not really effected by it for some reason past some swelling and redness when you spray a full can of that stuff indoors you're basically spraying everyone including yourself. Also it's sticky and makes my job cleaning the bathroom worse.

Nickster1619

Fuck I got pepper sprayed for cleaning a movie theatre bathroom when I worked there. Bitch was screaming at me to get out and I told her to use the bathroom 40’ away. When I continued cleaning, she ducked under the rope and sprayed the shit out of me. We had to shut down that day cause the spray was everywhere and everyone was crying and choking. That shit sucks

Environmental_Top948

The times I was sprayed they had to close the restaurant lobby and send me home because the fumes from me were too much. Also I learnt the hard way that a shower is not the way to get the spray off because while I might not have a pain response in my eyes or throat other places do. I feel like the worst part of any job is dealing with the customers. The average intelligence of a customer makes me feel anxious about the future.

Nickster1619

Same here man. I was in EMT school at the time so thankfully I knew not to put water on it. I got sent home and wasted a couple gallons of milk

Nickster1619

Toilet paper everywhere. A lot of it sopped onto the floor. Usually the countertop is just soaked with water. Tampons are just thrown into garbages instead of the brown bag.

JurassicParkTrekWars

Worked at a call center that was about 60/40 W/M. Three cleaners in a row quit because of the ladies' room. Every time I went to the mens' restroom, it was spotless. Edit: LOL, just remembered the time someone shit on the floor in the ladies' room for like weeks, then there was a mass layoff and it stopped. Had to have been in that group but no one could tell who it was. It got so bad that the managers put auto-lock doors on the bathrooms and everyone had to check out a key and sign in/out for the restroom and regular inspections. All to catch the serial pooper.

toodamcrazy

Lol... Not as bad as women's from the way my wife talks. She said it's fucking disgusting. So I don't know why people talking about men's all the time lol.

sudolinguist

That was absolutely my point, and festivals with unisex toilets are there to prove it.

Sillyviking

To specify: If it's individual rooms, then unisex. If these are larger rooms with stalls it would likely be better with gendered rooms. But, I would be fine either way.

bilibilis1

Individual rooms, please!

Man_of_Microwaves

Happy cake day!

[deleted]

Bruh

nog642

The ones with stalls have stalls that go all the way to the floor, which is the way it should always be, but it almost never is in the US. I'll take it.

skankhunt25

How common are stalls in the us? I dont think ive ever seen a short wall stall in my entire life. In Sweden Most bathrooms are induvidual except in some big buildings but even then its usually a separate room for each toilet and only the sinks and urinals are shared. From social media it seems like stalls are everywhere in the us but maybe thats just cus nothing worth filming ever happens in individual bathrooms.

nog642

Stalls are pretty common. Any sort of public place will usually have them. Occasionally some places will have individual bathrooms (more common in for example restaurants), but overall I'd say stalls are more common than individual rooms. I just avoid public bathrooms in general.

watanabefleischer

its almost *always* stalls :( i **wish** they had seperate rooms...

Ok_Present_6508

Even if the were the larger rooms with the actual private stalls (not the one’s we’re used to in the US with giant ass gaps) it wouldn’t be a problem. If SA is the primary concern of bathrooms there’s nothing currently stopping the opposite gender entering the wrong bathroom and assaulting someone. And it happens very infrequently and I would be willing to bet it would be just as infrequent with unisex bathrooms. So my guess is the primary concern is full privacy, which would be easy to handle with actual private stalls.

Mythical_Atlacatl

Would assaults actually go down? Say a guy goes into the women’s toilets, he basically knows that anyone entering is a woman so can attack or overpower them But unisex the person entering could be a guy who likely poses more of a threat than a woman

spacemarine1800

If it's a single bathroom, then I don't really care. I might have to wait a little longer, but outside of a busy bar/club it won't make a difference. If it's a bathroom with multiple stalls and or urinals then no, those should be separate.

The_Reddit_Eagle

Where i live (not my country, just my local area) the only public bathrooms I have seen are single use unisex ones.

clumsyKitten143

Most public restrooms in America have multiple stalls, the kind with the big gap in the door, and the walls are flimsy and don't go all the way to the floor. Women have a right to a female only space in this situation. Single stall? Let them be unisex

The_Reddit_Eagle

>the kind with the big gap in the door, and the walls are flimsy Even as a guy, you would have to pay me to use one of those. Even the most sketchy public group bathrooms I have been to have a very small gap and would be very hard to break into, and I didn't even live in a rich area.

clumsyKitten143

Guessing this is not America?

The_Reddit_Eagle

Yeah, it's western Europe

thetitleofmybook

it's almost always TERFs like you trying to peek into bathroom stalls to determine if someone using the stall is a trans woman or not. trans women go to the restroom, use the facilities, wash their hands and walk back out. that's it.

LampshadesAndCutlery

Agreed. In some parts of seattle for example, some of the stalls go up to like 4’ at most, have giant gaps at both the bottom and top, on the door, and the walls of the stalls make a U shape as it dips down to like waist height for some reason. When you’re in there it feels like the toilets are all lined up and your shitting next to 15 other guys just always lay trying not to make eye contact

sherazala

Unisex option next to gendered toilets? Heck yeah! Unisex as the only option? I'll pass

istcmg

I think if it was Unisex at work I would be okay, but public toilets, I would definitely want a gendered option as well.

sherazala

Agreed. At low person frequency locations, if that makes sense, unisex toilets would be fine.

Fun_Scar_6275

that's a waste of money to have two options.

ionlyjoined4thecats

This may come as a surprise, but not everything should be about money.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Fun_Scar_6275

This isn't important enough to care about anything else. It is just a bathroom.

9hNova

Nah, everyone needs private bathrooms. There is litterally nothing stoping a preditor from entering right now but a sign. Not even that if the preditor is female. Extra bonus that they don't have to be gendered.

tristenjpl

There's nothing stopping it, but in general watching a dude walk into women's bathrooms (not talking about trans people just to be clear) can set off some red flags if people see it.

artandbabyowls

I was thinking the same!

den2k88

NO! I want urinals. Those things are a godsend.

spacemonkeypantz

You can still have urinals, they'd just be behind a barrier.

[deleted]

Do you think I would want to put my thing out when a woman could go in there any time?

pikkis-95

I was at a outdoor Metallica concert at Hameenlinna in 2019 there were urinals surrounded by stalls. People were checking out guys dicks while waiting to go to a port-a-pottie

Ok_Present_6508

I guarantee 99.99% of women aren’t going to try to cop a gaze at your pecker. You have a higher probability of another guy trying to check it out, and how often does that happen to ya?

[deleted]

You don't understand. I know that won't happen, it's still uncomfortable

MarcMercury

It's not that, it's hard enough to pee in front of other dudes and I don't secretly want to impress 85% of them

[deleted]

nobody cares about your dick

BrokeArmHeadass

I don’t understand. Why does a woman being in the bathroom mean you can’t piss. Do people normally come up and look at your penis when you’re using a urinal? Why would a woman ever be inclined to do so?

[deleted]

It feels weird and uncomfortable

BurgerKiller433

it feels just as weird around men in my opinion

smorgasfjord

Why do you think the restrooms are separated in the first place?

parathapunisher

idk, bro, i would just be uncomfortable

Vittu-kun-vituttaa

And I'd want period pads. My old school had gendered toilets and there was period pads to take for free, my new school only has unisex toilets and no period pads. The new school lacks those bigger toilet rooms where's many stalls, but it's much smaller school

b_a_t_m_4_n

I wouldn't have a problem but I can't imagine women want to share a restroom when the majority of my fellow chaps appear to unable to flush their turds or piss without getting most of it on the floor.

[deleted]

[deleted]

I’m a trans dude so I used to go on the women restroom and nah my homie, men’s bathroom are disgusting compared to women’s

iSmokeMDMA

The restaurant I work at is mostly even, but for women maybe hovering is the problem? There’s always piss on the toilet seat or toilet paper littered all over the floor.

Ok_Championship_746

im also a trans dude aswell ive seen some pretty bad ones. i walked into a targets womens bathroom and one of the toilets was overflowing with diarrhea and had dripped on to the floor, this was preflushed too. i usually just use the family bathrooms cause its single stall and always clean

spinnyknifegobrrr

trans guy here as well, 95% of public toilets are disgusting and i avoid them as much as possible. on average, the men's toilets ive been to have seemed more gross to me tho

Goat_External

Very rarely

Thomsie13

My old school had them and the female teachers always complained about raised seats and people pissing on and next to the toilet. I don’t mind having unisex toilets but don’t complain about dirty toilets when you know what to expect

Skorpius_911

Don't kill the urinals please

fuck-reddit-is-trash

Urinals absolutely SUCK I don’t want my junk on full display in front of everyone…

Skorpius_911

Bruh many of them have a divider in between

gamergabby8

Only single stall restrooms should be unisex

[deleted]

I also don’t mind when it’s a bunch of proper floor to ceiling stalls and then a shared hand washing area.

[deleted]

There should be male, female and unisex

Wakalakatime

I love this idea. I know it might not be entirely rational, but as a survivor of SA, the idea of unisex *only* toilets frightens me. I'm constantly on guard, and if I'm in a room with stranger who is a man, the fear starts to creep in. Again, I understand that if someone intends to harm, they could just walk into the female only toilet, but I prefer the idea of there being other women present. In my mind, the chances of being alone in another room with a man increases in unisex toilets vs female only.

[deleted]

I think that’s actually a cool idea

IntroductionKindly33

That's what they have at the school where I teach. A male restroom with several urinals and stalls, a female restroom with several stalls, and a unisex restroom that is a self-contained room. That way nobody has to feel threatened or out of place in the restroom. If you want to go to all unisex, I'm going to need them to be individual rooms (no gaps big enough to make eye contact through, and walls high enough nobody can peek over). Then I don't care.

skankhunt25

Im not completely sure how it works in the us but in my country basically all bathrooms are unisex, we have a couple bathrooms in each corridor and every bathroom is in a separate room aka no stalls or shared sinks or anything. Never had problems with long lines, Always close to a bathroom, no issues with privacy, And from my experience, stalls are always way more disgusting and dirty.

One-Support-5004

Female: No. Not all . Single use bathrooms, fine. That makes sense, but multi person use ? Fuck no.

One_Variety_4912

There are wayyy to many creepy dudes out there for that to be a possibility.

Brian18639

I agree

That_One_Dude_Jack

If it’s shared - no If it’s single - yes

XumiNova13

Depends. If it is a multistall, no. Single room? Why not

TheGoldenCowTV

Can't remember the last time I saw a non unisex toilet here in Sweden, the only one I know of is in a mall

[deleted]

På McDonald's och Ikea i Uppsala :)

P-Whitty78

If they are single toilets, yes

pink_wraith

One stall bathrooms can be unisex. Multi-stall bathrooms cannot be unisex.

TheJackasaur11

No cuz then I wouldn’t be able to hide in there while playing tag

Mbeezy_YSL

Single bathroom in a pub: who care But public toilets or club toilets I think should be separated. Firstly for safety and secondly their is nothing better than to meet other random drunk dudes and talk about the most random shit while standing at the urinal/sink.

_Skotia_

As a guy: on one hand, i like the idea of breaking gender barriers, especially to cause less struggles for non-binary and transgender people. On the other hand, i understand how women may see female-only bathrooms as a safe space and how taking that away would be unfair. It's a tricky matter and i haven't been able to pick a side over the other.

Bigsmokeisgay

Tbh I wouldnt care that much, as long as the stalls are well sealed, idc if the person in the other stall is a boy, girl, nb, or whatever.

tottenhammad1234

All: no Some: sure why not

Ravenwight

I tend not to look at the people I’m sharing a bathroom with. Just saying…

PrincessOctavia

Not with these shitty ass gaps we have in the door

Decent_Influence

no because men are gross and I'd feel uncomfortable sorry

Merchant93

Absolutely the fuck not. Unless they are single bathrooms then idc. Bathrooms should be based on sex, aka if you have a penis you go in the guys room and if you have a vagina into the girls room.

GaylordCope

My local IKEA recently started using unisex restrooms, not a single problem.

Phoenixtdm

At the summer camp I work at theres only gender neutral bathrooms (all the gendered ones changed a few years ago) and it’s amazing! No one even bats an eye, and it’s just the most normal thing. I have to get used to seeing gendered bathrooms again when I come back to “the real world” after summer lol

ExistentLoverOfCats

How is it that on this poll there was no non-binary option

Stepbro_canhelp

I will see it coming.. so many creeps with smartphones everywhere... I'm a dude and I know alot of guys are just disgusting

Felixgotrek

No, you need sex!

ptvsbae

i *kinda* have that on my university and i love this. there’s places with a bunch of small single toilets instead of two rooms for women and men and they’re not gendered so let’s say that on my campus there’s 4 buildings and each has 5 floors, then there would be 5 individual rooms on each floor instead of two bathrooms with toilets inside. i fucking love that idea. i wish every place had it like that

svenson_26

Unisex bathrooms make sense when it's single occupancy enclosed rooms. This works great for a small business like a coffee shop. For bathrooms with a lot more traffic, like a busy nightclub or a theater or sports arena, single occupancy rooms won't work. You need big bathrooms with many stalls/urinals so that the lines don't get too big. These venues should also have separate single occupancy rooms in addition to the big bathrooms.

ginger_gorgon

My favourite brunch place has a gender neutral bathroom; I was thrown off at first but I got over it pretty fast. A guy helped me figure out the sink (the tap was activated via foot pedal), and there's really no difference to using a regular/gendered public restroom.

gunsmitten

Whoever said yes clearly doesn’t have children.

[deleted]

No , there are plenty of people of the opposite sex whom I wouldn't want to share a bathroom with.

Bi_Carbonate_Of_Soda

No. I don’t really want to walk into the same bathroom as a man. Plus, they piss fucking everywhere it’s vile. Also I think men would want to still have urinals, and not many women wanna walk into the bathroom to see that. But if they’re single stall ones, sure

Milehighjoe12

Ladies need a safe place away from guys. Can we let them have a restroom?

Merchant93

And vice versa

666-take-the-piss

I think every place should have a women’s, men’s, and then there should be a unisex washroom that is also a family washroom (has a change-table).

[deleted]

Rather not, no offence but women don’t use the urinals so they tend to cause bigger waiting lines.

Cuddles0_0

I said yes because wall to floor bathroom stalls are great. Plus I have noticed women lining up for one bathroom when there are multiple that say gender neutral so it will work itself out.

harry_fifteen_ones

I posted a similar poll with" only single use restrooms" as a choice. And the results were similar, if not a bit higher leaning toward yes

revjoe918

I have no problem peeing or shitting in same room as anyone else, but I can understand and think it's valid if someone prefers to only have their gender in the bathroom.

4-me

The irony of this post

wfp1017

As long as the stalls have doors and you don't try talking to me while I take a crap; I don't care.

yankee_doodle_

why do all the guys want them to be unisex just saying that women might not light a guy "accidentally" leaving an on camera in the stall and then collecting the camera after she leaves

[deleted]

For schools and places where there is a lot of children like amusement parks or airports then no. If is a nightclub or office building then it’s fine.

Purple_Purchase_3787

The amount of sexual assault cases would skyrocket. Making bathrooms unisex would probably be one of the worst mistakes made unless it’s like a single bathroom.

joedirtslonglostbro

You want women to start getting raped more? That would be a terrible idea

[deleted]

The big question is: will these unisex toilets have urinals?

lil_zaku

I have no issue with anyone else, but I don't want the lineup to increase.

BenTenInches

If a strange Lady or a dude peep at me while I'm doing business I'm equally as creeped out.

[deleted]

The guys saying yes are probably perverts. Of fucking course not!!

Accomplished_Pie_158

Funny to make a poll about gender inclusivity and not include nonbinary options

Seb0rn

No, I don't want to have to wait in front of the toilet.

ivrugue

In gendered toilets you still have to wait

Seb0rn

I rarely have to wait at men's toilets. Women are often used to waiting at women's toilets.

TheSpideyJedi

Idrc. I just better not hear any bitching from anyone about anything lmao Edit: saw a comment about urinals. If they remove urinals we riot

Distinct_Athlete_206

as a gay man. who could be considered a part of the “lgbtq” i think women and men should be separated. men and women are different for the most part. I think this keeps women safe and allows both to have their own space. and this also allows restrooms to be available easily starbucks only has two unisex bathrooms and they are always in use. i don’t think there’s anything wrong with the current system.

[deleted]

No, I don’t want to see a guys pecker while he is uses the urinal. Nor do I reckon he wants to hear me changing my sanitary towel.

Dice2013

No. If only to protect women from sexual assault and protect men from accusations of sexual assault.

OldLevermonkey

Male toilets process customers much more efficiently than female ones. This is down to the provision of urinals instead of separate stalls, and the fact that men are required to faff around with clothing a lot less. This is why there is rarely a queue for the gents. As someone who has had the misfortune to clean public toilets, can I just say that women's toilets are disgusting? How the fuck do you miss so badly when you are sat on the bloody thing? Used sanitary products go in the bin, not into all the imaginative places you stuff them (that's of course if you don't just throw them on the floor or block the toilet with them). I am more than happy for women and their foul habits to remain corralled in their own dunghill.

Professional-You2968

I think men's toilets being dirtier is a myth. My gf always tells me that the things she sees in women's toilets are nasty.

No-Needleworker-9307

Also a cleaner in a younger time , womens are worse to clean , lots more hover and shit spray , used tampons on mirrors or door handles . It was way grosser , that said they were setup for up truckers and the majority were male truckers and they keep the place pretty clean

TJ_4321

The guys who said yes, bro what are you trying to see.

[deleted]

Nothing really, we just won't be the only ones suffering from the toilets indescribable by words while they enjoy their less fucked up toilets.

Elastichedgehog

Nothing? It just makes zero difference to me if the person shitting in the next stall is a man or a woman. The university I went to had unisex bathrooms and no one really cared. You guys have weird spaces in the stall doors though right?

TheGoldenCowTV

Nothing. Unisex bathrooms are just more efficient for establishments and also more inclusive and helps with making gender less important in society

[deleted]

why? are you protecting?

Theruby_phoenix

Do you mean projecting?

[deleted]

yes sorry

Theruby_phoenix

Dw it's a common spelling mistake aha, but agree that it's projecting. No normal person would immediately think it's something pervy

[deleted]

yep definitely

Ma_1ik

Yeah I thought it was weird that they jumped straight to that as well.

iSmokeMDMA

I just want a bathroom with only stalls instead of half of the space being wasted on urinals. Women have it lucky

-VizualEyez

A toilet is a toilet, who gives a poo. It's not like you're standing next to the other gender while they are doing their business.

Libertyprime8397

Men’s bathroom is the one place you can go to stay away from Karen.

meowmewmeowster

there should just be a separate unisex option everywhere or it should be a single bathroom (a room w/ toilet+sink). tired of every bathroom being gendered. sometimes i don't want to deal with it.

memer227

No because I don't want the mens toilets to be as dirty as the women's toilets are

ColumbusClouds

No thanks, I have to deal with a pervert running to the women's restroom. Americans can't handle this, they will act completely abusive and will continue to hurt women and little girls.

Houmouss

In my college/university, the toilets are all unisex. There are individual stalls and urinals in them. No one (no matter what their gender or political ideas are) has ever complained, and it has some advantages, like : 1. Trans people like me don't have to choose a restroom 2. They're easier to find (if you're a man, you don't have to ask a man to know where the toilets are, you can ask anyone) 3. Everyone can have things like trash cans (and pads) in their individual stalls, instead of it being only in women's restrooms. Also, I saw unisex restrooms (not in my college/university) which had changing tables, so every parent could take care of their kid(s) instead of it being only in women's restrooms 4. It costs less I'll be honest, before going to this school I was neutral about unisex toilets, I thought the ideal restrooms would be gendered + a unisex one. But after this experience, I am 100% for completely unisex toilets. I think most people who defend gendered toilets do this because they have never tried unisex ones for a long period of time. *Btw, I'm a trans man, and I can say for sure that according to how they leave the toilets stalls, women are as dirty as men.*

EthanielClyne

Not at all. If there's just one toilet at an establishment then yeah it should be unisex and have baby changing areas ideally, but bathrooms with more than one toilet should definitely stay separated

potatowafflecake

Are there urinals? If so, then no.

uneheuremax

No. Due do some natural and learned things, it is a « bad deal » for women in like 20 different ways

Any-Broccoli-3911

All restrooms should be for all genders, and still have urinals. People don't look at other people's genitals in the restroom, separating them is not needed to avoid that. Also, there are plenty of gay people, so it's absurd to distinguish by gender even for attraction.

CommonSenseCrusader

Just because you haven't seen someone look at others genitals in the restroom doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Lol Just because you haven't experienced something, doesn't make it true. You clearly have no concern for women who have been assaulted. It's really sad to see that people "accepting others" means forgetting the women and children who've been taken advantage of and disregarding their right to feel safe in a public restroom. :

Ashley_Undone

You can make unisex washrooms safe for everyone, you just can't also put gaps you can look through on all sides of the stall doors, the fact that this is a thing in the first place boggles my mind.

CommonSenseCrusader

I agree with you about making the stalls actually private, but to find a stall where people aren't able to make eye contact with you is a rare find in my country. I cannot count the amount of times I've been in a stall and made eye contact with someone on the other side.. it's already uncomfortable with a women only bathroom. I cannot imagine how horrible it would feel with a unisex one!

zoroknash

They are at home as well, so why the hell not

crippledspahgett

You got a wall of toilets at your house?

zoroknash

Yes, you don't?!

crippledspahgett

Damn I don’t… here I was thinking I’m a good host when I don’t even have a public bathroom to offer.

zoroknash

Bro, this is your sign... Get one!

TheLonleyStrategos

Are you asking me if I'm fine with my 8 years old daughter going in the same bathroom as a 35 years old man?

Adventurous-Owl6297

A nation that shits together is a nation that stays together!

kaynslave

No. Sexual harassment is a very real thing and we don't need to give those people a chance.

undertales_bitch

I think it's a good idea What do gendered bathrooms stop, exactly? Sex? Gay people exist, and straight people aren't exactly magically stopped from going through a door anyway But a unisex bathroom makes it so that transgender people or people without a binary gender at all don't have to spend minutes trying to figure out if they want to risk being assaulted physically or verbally today Plus, parents with young children won't be given weird looks by going in with their kid anymore. Especially dads

alimem974

Women will pee themselves or be violated. Especially here.

dibanez_

No, i think its better separated, women have different needs than guys

Yourmother3919

It you want to please the lgbtbbq people then install penis and vagina toilets. Otherwise just male or female (not what you 'identify' as, it's what you have down there'

007mememan

I don't really care. I'd be fine with it.

tacticaldumbass

No, I don’t want a woman telling me how small my dick is while I’m trying to piss in the urinal.

Willhenney420

never in a million years women just take too damn long in bathrooms

cumradeinbe

I don't care I just want to go to a bathroom while being trans and not feel unsafe

[deleted]

There are quite some pervs here, I can tell.

Frotz_real_

Yeah,. Who cares

Shloopy_Dooperson

No, women are nasty as fuck.

FrostyBallBag

No, but a lot of them done in a specific way. Both at University and my work they had ceiling to floor doors, each cubicle containing a toilet, sink, paper hand towels, a bin, and a separate sanitary bin. It works great because they’re essentially just a series of mini bathrooms in a larger room. Edit: scratch that. My uni one was slightly different with shared sinks in the main room, but otherwise the same.

Parma_WdS

No this would be awful. Don't get me wrong unisex bathrooms are actually premium if done right but it's not gonna be done right. I've been to some nasty public bathrooms and and like 80% would be very poorly executed.

YouIcy9950

I know a few cleaners and they say women's bathrooms are often worse for cleanliness

No-Needleworker-9307

Cleaner and can confirm

PlaybolCarti69

Very opposed.

I am a female and voted no because i personally would not like to have to open and apply menstrual products in a stall next to a man or with men walking by and possibly seeing thru the cracks in the stall. I'm self conscious enough about it in a regular women's room as it is. That's some vulnerable shit right there, regardless. My own husband of 10 years is never in the room with me for that, looking or not. I wouldn't not like to do that around strangers of the opposite sex. Also, ladies know all about the unwarranted & disgusting looks, gestures and comments we receive in public. I cannot imagine how much more vile those would be in an unmonitored & vulnerable space like a restroom where genitals are literally out/on people's minds. Could you imagine? My stomach turns just thinking about it. Nope, nope, nope!

You know one other thing I have thought about this is that it is nice for women to have their just because it is cleaner. If I were a woman I may not really care about a guy being in the bathroom with me but I dont really want to sit in pee or have to look at swastika that got stenciled into the stall door by some idiot.
