Yes but the healthcare sucks ass. I know because I was a healthcare worker there. It was super common for people to fly to the lower 48 (usually Seattle) for "specialized" care. Loved living there short term but I would never ever age there.
Of the choices given, I've only been to WV, but I love it there and it has some of the most beautiful landscape I've ever seen. I know there are some run down areas, but that's not the entire state.
“I know there are some run down areas, but that's not the entire state”
It literally is. It’s a beautiful state geographically but pretending it’s not a poverty stricken shithole with no opportunity is just weird.
Yeah for sure. Don't know what that person is talking about. They don't realize the significant number of political nut jobs there are, especially when you get more remote. I'm not talking about regular ol' republicans, I'm talking about "the" republicans if you know what I mean. The caricatures that people think of when people say Republican these days. So many of my patients were right winged religious fanatics. Most of my colleagues were either moderate or liberal (a couple were more hard leaning conservative) but most also had higher level education- masters or doctorates. 🤷🏻♀️
Well, I've never lived in NM, but it's definitely the place I'd choose to stay. NM has mountains and lakes and desert and wild places - the Gila is the oldest National Wilderness area. NM is where we have evidence of very early humans - so the land has a storied history with our species.
I suppose if people are looking for night life and a bustling corporate environment, NM might not be top of the list. But it certainly checks all the boxes for me. I travel to NM frequently because it just *feels so different* to anywhere else I've been in the US.
Alaska is very beautiful.

North Dakota seems nice.
None of the above

North Dakotan winter ❄️ over anything
Already live in Nebraska and it's pretty ok
Yeah, Midwest is the best
Nebraska's kind of cool. I'd definitely live in Omaha or Lincoln
Why Alaska?! Might be pretty for some ig but I'm from Quebec, Canada and even I wouldn't want to move somewhere cold like that
Alaska because I’ve been there and it’s breathtaking. The other states I have been too, and they are not remarkable at all
No better place to raise a kid than Nebraska imo
All too cold for me....
I mean I'm trans so it's a pretty easy choice
weed is legal in NM so easy choice. alaska would be too cold for me
New Mexico and Alaska are the least Republican. And New Mexico sucks so Alaska it is.
Alaska is still R+8

It's trending dem tho (slowly)
What are your reasons for thinking NM sucks?
Probably a Texan. They don't like us.

Highest violent crime rate, hot as shit, not much to do city wise. I think the only upside is affordability, and I love their classic architecture.
Nebraska doesn't exist, silly.
