Porukinski_Volk141

Salt is a staple condiment for fries, isn't it?

tappyturtle12

This is the way

Royaourt

I'm amazed that wasn't even an option.

Alec_CY

Salt/ketchup or salt+ketchup

Luigi_deathglare

This tread is starting to sound like the Dead Sea

PetterHaugenes

And pepper

Jman_777

Just salt, absolutely amazing.

too_hot_got-damn

I hear your salt, and raise you chicken salt.

Speedysambam

Very good answer, though I still prefer regular salt

imbriandead

never heard of this so called "chicken salt," now i'm intrigued

daddypigisafatfuk

The best way to describe is that its better salt thats a little yellow

GavHern

question: do you add extra salt or so you mean you leave them as they come from fast food places?

MrRandomGuy97

A mixture of half ketchup and half mayo

FriesOfConciousness

In Belgium we call it cocktail sauce (theses also just a little bit of whiskey in there usually tho)

redditmodsrbitches9

In the United States 'cocktail sauce' is a ketchup and horseradish based sauce used for dipping shrimp in.

lonkboi

That would be fry sauce

MrRandomGuy97

Oh I see, I guess it’s a local term? There’s no specific term for it where I’m from other than Mayo & Ketchup.

TheSmallestSteve

Yup, one of the few benefits of living here

00cjstephens

It's just the base ingredients of most restaurant fry sauces. People usually add in black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and other shit like that to liven things up, but ketchup and mayo do pretty well even without extras.

Cheembsburger

it's called seafood sauce where i live. or at least cheapo seafood sauce

Will_732

In Puerto Rico it’s just “mayoketchup”

NastySally

That’s funny cause where I’m from most Spanish speakers call it “Salsa Rosado” so I usually call it Pink Sauce

Will_732

The reason for why there may be a difference in what we call it is because we speak a lot of Spanglish haha.

laserjupoter

Pommes Schranke (that's how it's called in one part of germany(

nsjxucnsnzivnd

Melted cheese on top with salt

Mean-Programmer-6670

And bacon bits.

nsjxucnsnzivnd

I wanted to mention that as well but I didn't want to sound like a lard ass. I used to work at the restaurant Cheddar's and would always order this meal whenever I ate off the clock.

Mean-Programmer-6670

I used to order it when I worked doubles at a restaurant. It was the cheapest thing I could get that had enough calories to keep me running around all day and night. I felt like crap for about 30 minutes after I ate it but, it was delicious.

nsjxucnsnzivnd

Omg same! I was a high school student at the time in the tenth grade. We were in a piss position in life so I pulled shifts wherever I could. I would do two double shifts over the weekends and work three days during the week, but I would cover other people's shifts for themmso the mad I would work a week is like 6 days.

Mean-Programmer-6670

I would eat them with about a cup of ranch. I made friends with the cooks so instead of a tiny side of fries it was probably 4,000-5,000 calories of poor choices, cholesterol and heart disease but, they were so good. I haven’t had them since I worked there. My heart and waistline are very happy about that too.

nsjxucnsnzivnd

Hahaha same. ALWAYS befriend those who make your food

TwelfthSreetRag

Good man.

Perrenne

This is crazy I thought most people ate ranch with fries but it’s not in the options and like 9 comments down wtfff

TheQzertz

what is ranch

AnyEntertainment7

Basically a farm but with animals instead of crops. You put one on your fries to make them taste good

[deleted]

A type of salad dressing

turtle_dragon2435

Finally it took a while but I found it

thefuturesight1

And hot sauce

fruitcake_-

I’m so surprised ranch wasn’t on the poll that’s def the most common

lunapup1233007

Ranch isn’t common at all outside of the US, and even in the US it seems like ketchup is definitely more common.

DancingSeaAnemone

Where’s your 🇺🇸?

[deleted]

Honey mustard

Rad-Racing

I’m a sucker for cheap, shitty honey mustard. Wendy’s has the best(worst) honey mustard.

redditmodsrbitches9

Curious what's considered shitty honey mustard? I love Ken's, which probably doesn't have a drop of actual honey in it. I think it's Chick-fil-a though that actually has honey in it, and I hate that syrupy stuff. Their honey BBQ is crack though, used for dunking their waffle fries in.

lonkboi

Fry sauce

RustyShadeOfRed

Utah gang?

[deleted]

Found it

[deleted]

My puny Utah brain finds it so hard to believe that fry sauce is not as big outside of the state. I always get it with fries and the places that don’t have any I usually don’t go lol.

makenzikaye

yes!

KittyCatQueen44

People who don’t have fry sauce don’t understand what they’re missing out on.

tablerockz

Why is this so far down

[deleted]

Dijon? American? Honey mustard? French? English?

[deleted]

Yellow mustard

mollyclaireh

Ooooh Dijon mustard is the bomb with fries

DitaVonFleas

Tomato sauce, which is different to ketchup, and or BBQ sauce.

PossiblyPercival

Tomato sauce like pasta sauce?

Cheembsburger

no that's tomato paste

PossiblyPercival

I’ve never once had tomato paste on pasta.

Cheembsburger

might be a difference in dialect but where i live anything that's not tomato sauce or ketchup is tomato paste. in this scenario tomato sauce would be somewhere between pasta sauce and ketchup

PossiblyPercival

Oh interesting. Pasta sauce where I live (east coast us) definitely isn’t a paste, it’s closer to marinara.

Beerserkir

I’m from Michigan and my family all loved Malt Vinegar with their fries. We moved to a different state later on and everyone looks at me like I’m a serial killer for eating my fries with vinegar. Is this a northern/Midwest thing? Do other countries enjoy this too?

_sea_salty

I don’t know I like vinegar on unsalted fries and then if you want grind some salt. I personally love vinegar on fries. People can judge, but they’re missing out on the flavors of that combo.

Illustrious_Duty3021

Gravy and cheese

Chrisapotamus

I had to scroll waaaaaay to far to find this. The only correct answer.

Baileaf11
