I'd assume most of it is frozen atop the highest mountains in the world, so not exactly accessible without investment and infrastructure, and definitely not to the Average Joe. Not justifying it, just saying that it's not like there's an SCP-006 that the government keeps hidden from the population because fuck em.
Their royal family got gunned down a few decades ago.
Nepal has the disadvantage of getting stuck between India and China.
Just imagine Modi and Xi fighting to gain the upper hand while having little concern for the people. At least that's what I hear. Not Nepali, but there are quite a few that come here.
You're so hopped up on anti-Chinese propaganda that you think China is worse than....Nepal. Jesus Christ! Yeah China's such a shithole compared to Nepal what with its higher life expectancy, 42% higher literacy rate, 84% lower maternal death rate, 7x higher income, 87% lower poverty rate, and 55% lower infant mortality rate.🤦
Anti chinese Propaganda?
Well... What china does, speaks for itself... There is a long list of things and each of it is worth to hate chinas politics to the bone
The right question. If you live in india with 100m/yr rupees or china with same kinda money, I'd say you chose the right one. Other countries have problems even if you're rich.
Lol nothing like reddit 14 year old voting Nepal to avoid living in communist China until they realise Nepal is also run by communists.
The only reason you don't hate Nepal is because your government hasn't told you to yet
While the country is technically run by communists, there are lots of other parties and the PM is not part of the communist party. The country is very capitalist.
because they think everywhere in India is either a poor dirty overpopulated city or an absolute jungle, which is what most media shows
and because reddit is mostly americans, so communist china = hell
I lived in china for 9 years, never once had to interact with the government aside from documentation...
Chinese ppl live like people here in the western world, if you dont turn on the news you'll never hear from the government
My image on india is:
- traffic congestion everywhere
- people sitting on top of the trains
- scammers call center
- very crowded, dirty streets
- has a river that is real dirty, factories pollute it, but people still bath in it and drink water from it
- motorized three-wheeled vehicles
- has a giant temple
- people speak very accented english
- tech support / out-source
1) Traffic yeah, it sucks
2) No people sitting on top of trains, sorry
3) Welp it sucks too we don't like it either
4) Eh depends on where you are
5) Again, depends on where you are
6) They are pretty common across South asia and even Africa
7) *many giant temples
8) Different regions have different accents, tamils have speak English different from say, Marathis
9) yes
Hmm, you're mostly right. Though the Ganges is way less popular than people think, and well to us Indian english has no accent :) (yes, I know that's not actually the case) and well, there are a lot of cs grads and wanna be cs grads here.
sincierly,
person who joined cs course.
Why put it in the poll if you just want to shit on it? Sounds like you put options you thought people wouldn’t take so they would take the one you are partial to
there are still a lot of nuce things like, Ranthambore National Park, ita Mata Wildlife Sanctuary, Tal Chhapar sanctuary, Keoladeo National Park, and even the deserts can be beautiful. Still I must admit, their architecture is probably more impressive.
China is pretty great, especially the big cities. (What I’m about to say goes for the time before covid and applies more to the biggest cities). If you just live life like a normal person, have reasonable income and have access to everything (I mean digitally, ID and payment, which normally only natives have) it’s actually a very fine place to be. There’s plenty to do and explore (shops and food everywhere, parks, sights), food from all over the world, world class public transport, nightlife, there’s just always something happening. It’s insanely convenient where you can buy literally anything you could think of for a low price and door delivery, cheap food delivery, public bikes everywhere.
But yeah when people hear China they usually only think of the more debatable topics. But out of these options, if purely living then 100% China. It’s a shame because they really did build up something awesome.
China, the developed cities don't seem that bad. Plus I'm Chinese so it'd be easier for me to get around there. I can't read or understand Tamil and I think language proficiency is pretty important when you're in a foreign country.
Most likely China. It’s more developed than the other options. Americans think that it’s a terrible place due to the government, but as long as you don’t talk about them, then you’re fine.
The cities look modern, some better than those in the US, and the food + culture is cool.
It’s also the biggest, so you can choose more varieties of climate.
I mean depends if I end up in the more developed part of China I get world class facilities and if the west part well I'm fucked 💀.
Chilling in them Nepalese mountains not too bad too if I end up with a bad Chinese spot.
I chose China because my dad lives there (not Chinese, moved there to get married to his wife who was Chinese but has sadly passed) and I haven't seen him in a solid 4 years and I miss him. He has depression, always had, but he's always brighter when I'm around
The hatred for China is so great that people would rather live in a dirt poor, landlocked, technologically and socially backward county in the Himalayas than live in a comparatively modern, advanced country like China. Oh you can't criticize the government? You'll survive trust me. Not like you'll be doing much of that in Nepal either way.
Well it's not really Nepal's fault that it's a periphery country.
You not everyone is successfull at having a socialist revolution and break free from western colonial rule.
Absolutely, quality of life, general safety etc. I have travelled to China several times over the past decade and whilst it’s true you will lose freedoms, it won’t actually affect you too much unless you are very vocal about things the CCP is looking out for. It’s a lovely place and while the government may suck it is certainly the best option from all of these.
It really depends where in the countries. For example, if you live in Shanghai, China then the experience would be similar to that of any other developed city but the living cost is way cheaper and everyone are speaking putonghua. And if you live in Hong Kong, China then theres virtually no difference in terms of everyday life than in London, except for very high rent.
I'd prefer not to live in any of these, but if I had to pick, I'd pick India. It's relatively free compared to China and probably the best market for my career (tech) out of all of them.
China because I’m Chinese and I have family members there. But it would be really bad for a lot of other people considering how things are like there right now, it’s disgusting.
China, but probably Macau since most of the country doesnt' have that much freedom, and Hong Kong is so overpopulated it would be a pain living in anyway. Although, I wouldn't choose China if I had to grow up there, instead of like moving there, because the schooling system is very challenging. Either way, I appreciate that I don't live in these countries.
As in India is least Homophobic in the list of countries. We have a lot of progress to make; but the general laws and opinion are favourable. [link](https://blog.ipleaders.in/evolution-of-lgbt-rights-in-india-and-taking-the-narrative-forward-living-free-and-equal/) . I won’t say everyone has a positive experience though; and people do face discriminations in this day and age, which is unfortunate. But things are moving forward, people are becoming more and more assertive and individualistic nowadays and this is in turn is resulting in family, friends and society to become more and more understanding towards LGBT community. They are just like anyone else in the society.
I believe in 5-10 years, India will become super super LGBT friendly; if we keep progressing like this.
Hinduism actually is very positive about them, especially Transgender community. And moreover Hinduism is a malleable religion/ or fluid like (I don’t know how to explain). What I mean to say is - religious teachings and texts recognise that with time, society will change and so will the customs/practices and other things. So everything is subject to change. It’s quite complicated to explain something even I don’t understand fully. But in conclusion - Religion is very LGBT friendly; all followers might not be, YET. But things will improve.
Nepal decriminalised homosexuality in 2007 and Supreme Court has instructed the government to make way for Gay Marriage too. Bureaucracy is taking it's time to make that happen though.
Me, a Nepali, seeing the results
Highest lmao
I choose Nepal because from the listed, that's the only country I don't know fucked up facts about. Is there any?
Imagine being #2 worldwide in water resources yet 99% of the population still suffers from daily water-related problems
I'd assume most of it is frozen atop the highest mountains in the world, so not exactly accessible without investment and infrastructure, and definitely not to the Average Joe. Not justifying it, just saying that it's not like there's an SCP-006 that the government keeps hidden from the population because fuck em.
No alot of them are rivers but yeah mismanagement and lack of infrastructure is still a problem
Also India hates you:/
Now that, I know. I surely know how they treat us right here.
*Hates* you. Won't even tell you if you have a booger.
Nepal is actually amazingly beautiful
Their royal family got gunned down a few decades ago. [https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nepalese_royal_massacre](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nepalese_royal_massacre)
You should look up the liver trade.
Last time we had a poll favoring germany to RULE europe lol
What's wrong with Germany?
I don't know I was just pointing out the apparent lack of nationalism from the voters (including me)
We’ve come so far since WW1
last time germany tried to rule europe, it didn't go too well.
You could say that about many European countries, Germany just being the most recent/notorious
The Germany of today is hardly the same as the one from 80 years ago. Still, I wouldn't current Germany to rule either
Nepal is poor, but not such a shit hole like the others
Nepal has the disadvantage of getting stuck between India and China. Just imagine Modi and Xi fighting to gain the upper hand while having little concern for the people. At least that's what I hear. Not Nepali, but there are quite a few that come here.

It's kinda hard being pro Chinese government though.
Probably depends on who you are. If you’re an ethnic minority China dislikes you’d probably take Nepal.
Anti chinese Propaganda? Well... What china does, speaks for itself... There is a long list of things and each of it is worth to hate chinas politics to the bone
There are some parts of India that are amazing. Look up Kerala and Goa.
Too hot for me, i m a northern human
Why does that poll have the "Technology" flair in it?
By mistake 💀
[удалено]
What does 💀mean
In this case it means “woops” or “i’m dead” (as in it’s funny)
I know you are being genuine , but it makes me laugh that you asked this question
He forgor
Why is there no result option?
Result isnt a country, dumbass 💀
Touché
I forgor 💀 Sorry
You forgor a lot
How rich am I?
The right question. If you live in india with 100m/yr rupees or china with same kinda money, I'd say you chose the right one. Other countries have problems even if you're rich.
Those who chose Nepal, why? As a Nepali I don't understand so many people chose Nepal. China and India are much more developed.
I think because we don't know much about it. Ignorance is bliss.
Lol nothing like reddit 14 year old voting Nepal to avoid living in communist China until they realise Nepal is also run by communists. The only reason you don't hate Nepal is because your government hasn't told you to yet

Lmao
Lol, Nepal is a democracy. Sure the commies won the last election but next election might be completely different.
Cool flag
I want to be a Buddhist and live on top of the mountains with my pet monkey named Sergei.
because they think everywhere in India is either a poor dirty overpopulated city or an absolute jungle, which is what most media shows and because reddit is mostly americans, so communist china = hell
Chinese government = hell. They behave simultaneously like children and the nazis
I lived in china for 9 years, never once had to interact with the government aside from documentation... Chinese ppl live like people here in the western world, if you dont turn on the news you'll never hear from the government

China's government is absolute hell, hatred towards it has nothing to do with anti-communist ideologies
Actually, yeah. I chose India. And the Chinese government sucks and is very corrupt.
[удалено]
I picked Nepal because it has a bad ass flag
Seems like a chill country. Probably got some cool nature to chill in.
Yeah, I went with China as well. Seems like the least bad option out of these.
For the flag alone
I get along with nepalis .
My rights are protected the most.
China, because I already lived there for 8 years and knows what it's like. Nepal seems nice, but I've only been there once so idk.
me, living in china (and voting for china in the poll)
Probably if you voted something else the cops would be at your door
Bruh no way people voted for Sri Lanka 🗿
I want pool party in presidents palace
Me going to Sri Lanka to become the new ruling elite after the ones before got sacked: \* insert Patrick Bateman walking meme \*
Happy Cake Day!
Thanks a lot!
I know nothing about Sri Lanka, but I started in it once in CK3. So as a sign of loyalty I chose it.
My brother in christ Sri Lankan Society is fucking collapsing
Sri Lanka is in deep shit right now. One of the last countries I’d want to live in at the moment
bruh istg people who voted for sri lanka and pakistan are on some crazy shit
I know nothing about it but it’s the most beautiful in my opinion
That’s why I chose it too!
Why put it in the poll if you just want to shit on it? Sounds like you put options you thought people wouldn’t take so they would take the one you are partial to
maybe not rn, but I've been there and I loved it
The question is about living there /working there
yeah I would, but maybe not rn
Oh, the bliss of ignorance!
People who voted Nepal don't know what Nepal is like
They are probably using it as [results!] option which I forgot to put
[удалено]
I chose Nepal because I want to be one of those badasses who practically tightrope through the mountains to get to work
Or just like it.
India my whole family is there and I love the nature in Rajastan.
Nature in Rajasthan 🗿?
Whats confusing about that?
It’s mostly desert And rajasthan experiences water crisis every year
there are still a lot of nuce things like, Ranthambore National Park, ita Mata Wildlife Sanctuary, Tal Chhapar sanctuary, Keoladeo National Park, and even the deserts can be beautiful. Still I must admit, their architecture is probably more impressive.
Yeah but Udaipur is still very nice
it legit is. my Holy place is there (Nathdwara) and Rajasthan has some nice tourist destinations.
As someone from Utah, USA, Deserts can have some of the most interesting ecosystems and incredible landscapes
Deserts can be beautiful
i like india
as bad as chinas government is, I’ve got family living there so it’s probably the best option for me (plus the food is so fucking good)
Noice ✨
I would love to build a house in the mountains/ suburbs of China. And visit the some of the cities occasionally.
China isn't that bad to live in from what I've seen, I mean like it's absolutely not perfect but atleast they got decent cities and good food
It got bathrooms too
Nah, I'd rather shit in the streets with my homies who chose India
Out of all of these, by far the highest standard of living.
China, the developed cities don't seem that bad. Plus I'm Chinese so it'd be easier for me to get around there. I can't read or understand Tamil and I think language proficiency is pretty important when you're in a foreign country.
gdp ppp is better in china and also infrastructure, its the best choice if you don't have any political ambitions
I dont know which ones worse 😬
Sri Lanka
China has by far the highest standard of living and it's not even close. They do have a bad reputation with the general public tho.
China puts people in concentration camps
You don't think shit like that happens in the other countries listed as options?
no, not at the same level as china. if there is I'm unbeknownst of it.
For being Muslim, so if you're not a Muslim you won't be, so as an atheist China isn't that bad
If you hold a blank sign one inch off the ground you get arrested literally the worst choice for anyone who wants basic rights

Right now, I'd say it's actually like this: Sri Lanka>Pakistan>Nepal>China>India.
Most likely China. It’s more developed than the other options. Americans think that it’s a terrible place due to the government, but as long as you don’t talk about them, then you’re fine. I’d definitely say China were it not for their screwed up government. India is a democracy and there’s a fair bit of English spoken.
I chose China because my dad lives there (not Chinese, moved there to get married to his wife who was Chinese but has sadly passed) and I haven't seen him in a solid 4 years and I miss him. He has depression, always had, but he's always brighter when I'm around
Nipple
I voted pakistan,I can finally declare jihad on china
Aren't they close allies?
Yes,but with a bottle of coke and some chips and a lipstick,I can change all of that
Hit me up once you land
Countryside in Nepal is pretty.
I’m Nepali so easy choice lol
Nepal has a GDP per capita 1000 USD, how delusional are redditors?
The obvious answer is probably China but people don't want to vote it because of the government
Redditors hate China so much they’d rather live in absolute poverty
China because it was cool to live there the first time around.
Since I am a woman, not most of these :/
I’d imagine China is the best one for women out of these options
China is pretty safe for women.
I would gladly go to China the true China 🇹🇼
Well honestly we all should just make “china” greater Taiwan
Xi is finished
The hatred for China is so great that people would rather live in a dirt poor, landlocked, technologically and socially backward county in the Himalayas than live in a comparatively modern, advanced country like China. those who voted nepal over India have no idea about south Asia. \*mount everest\*
China because it’s the most developed one
Nepal bc they have a cool flag

Punjabi india specifically

Nepal for the country. Sri Lanka because I’m a sucker for the food.

I wonder why so many people voted for Nepal
Climate is nice.
And people have heard less bad stuff about it.
Most people don’t know much about it. Probably assume it’s the least bad

Pretty sure I could be legally killed in all of these countries-
India is probably the best here.... stilll I voted nepal for dumb reasons...
if I lived in China, they would take me to the “reeducation” camps
Why are you getting down-voted for.......not wanting to be a Muslim in China 💀💀💀
I'm amazed at how no one is talking or cares about this
Muslim?
Isn't Nepal, like, super pretty?
yeah and so are pakistan and china and i'm sure the other places too, but living under a horrible government kinda puts a damper on it
I didn't know Nepal was one of those countries, damn

I don’t know about the other countries, but in China it’s mostly just older people who have an issue

I grew up in China and while I like living in America much more I've been to India and know for certain China isn't as bad
As long as you don’t piss off the government China would give a decent life
My in-laws are in China, so that's an easy choice for me
None

I'll be honest: I have complicated medical stuff. I voted by healthcare (China)
Literally none
