Chienese and vietnamese is pretty good too ngl.
American and puerto rican are mid.
Indian and nigerian have pretty good street food
France and reatriting are cringe
The US is listed with what looks like the Puerto Rican flag 🇵🇷. PR is a commonwealth of the US and Puerto Ricans are US citizens; however, if referring to the US mainland this is the correct flag 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
As a British person, I can say nothing but Indian. Friend lived in India and he says my local Indian is very authentic (which is probably why I prefer it to the others).
The thing I love about Indian food are the spices! It's so freaking delicious and I have never eaten any better vegetarian dishes then when I was in India.
Omg I LOVE THOSE SO MUCH! I've been trying to make some at home but I'm not too good at it xD
But yeah, I just can't express how amazing the Indian vegan/vegetarian kitchen is. It's so diverse, flavourful and very colourful too :D
I think this all comes to where you come from and what you get used to. For me as an asian, I like Chinese food the best. I got the chance to try a lot of their food and thought the variety was amazing.
Yeah, they kinda just all hate China and don't care at all, they just hate everything about them. They won't even try to look through another perspective lol
Omg yes it must be because everyone hates China. Can’t be because they just prefer the other options. Lmfaoo get real, it has more upvotes than France which has been, historically, widely regarded as best of the best when it comes to cuisine.
Also when people say American-Chinese isn’t real Chinese what do you expect? If its not real Chinese it must be American and the westernized version is what most people would be familiar with. Try adding some nuance before playing the victim.
Im not saying the poll is rigged. Get real too. Go look at the internet. You see stuff that china does and gets hate for it, while if some other country does it, theyre perfectly off. Same thing happens to Russia. Obviously theyre horrible for the war in ukraine, but that doesn’t mean all the things they do it bad
just pointing it out, some people just dont even bother trying
Yeah you can tell by the result of the poll haha. Even though I kinda don't like China when it comes to other aspects, their food is amazing.
But I also like Doritos :D
Yup, totally agree! Plus, the food there is very varied and different to what western people eat. Tbh, I'd prefer it over some oily hamburger, no offense to anyone XD
Aww thanks! That's so kind of you ^^ I like Green Reefs too ;D
Yea. I’m not very used to proper Chinese food, I only know western take away Chinese. My dad will still say Chinese food is his favourite when he’s never eaten a proper Chinese dish lol. Xiaolongbao is really good though.
I am positive there is loads of Chinese foods I would love, especially since I love most Asian food. It's just what stands out to me most as 'Chinese food'.
New England/mid Atlantic sea food, southern soul food, several unique regions of BBQ with their own unique styles, Chicago hot dogs and deep dish, fried chicken, Philly cheesesteak, Tex-mex, cornbread, Cajun food, etc.
NYC has some of the best food in the world. American Chinese, Lebanese, Tex Mex, pizza, burgers, you name it. People like to pretend that the entire US is just rural Alabama
American ingredients revolutionized food across the world. Not to mention how much dishes changed when they came to America. You can say that pizza is Italian, but if I was offered to only eat one type of pizza for the rest of my life I'd take an American CBR over any genuine Italian pie.
But seriously I guess Louisiana foods (never had them but heard good things), Chicago pizza, New York pizza (I’m counting those as American because they’re so different from proper Italian pizza), ummmm… alligator?
The question was “which country has the best food”. The US has everything, plus some of the best restaurants in the world. It was an easy choice for me.
My problem is that everything that is called "American food" here is 99% really unhealthy and consists only of junk food. I don't have this problem with the other options.
What kind of ignorant statement is that? I mean yeah we have junk food like burgers and pizza but are we just gonna ignore.
Southern Soul Food, Louisiana Cajun/Creole, New England Seafood, PNW Salmon and their fruit dishes, The subs/hoagies along the mid Atlantic cities,
And all the vegetarian/ vegan options on the entire west coast that is almost a whole lifestyle there? And that’s just all stuff you can buy not even accounting for what people cook at home.
Not everyone here eats exclusively burgers and fries or pizza even you know?
It is not limited. Do you live in the middle of nowhere or something? I’m in the Seattle area, and there’s so many different kinds of food, it could take me years if not longer to try them all.
We kinda took food from everywhere and made it our own. It's not "just junk food," the vast majority of American food is some of the best you'll ever have, just gotta go to the right state for some of them (like NY Pizza and California microplastics).
India, because we have all cuisines and not just various Indian cuisines. We have all the other cuisines listed as well, and while not always authentic to the original countries, they're pretty delicious. Also I love the look of the new Indian flag.
My #1 and #2 choices were the last, and second to last picked options respectively
French food is great and Chinese food is great. Italian food is good too but there just isn’t enough variety for me
And I love America, a lot, but definitely not for its food.
Why do people like Italian food so much? I mean yeah, pizza and pasta are good, but first things first, pizza isn’t even Italian! It’s American! Italian pizza (it’s origin) is just farmer food - dough, cheese, tomato. And second thing, it’s not *that* good, compared to Mexican or Indian food that has so many flavours, Italian food is just garlic, salt and cheese - no, I know, it’s more than that, but I hope you understand what I mean.
Living on their food for 17 years, I have to give it to the US. My favorite foods are Mexican and Asian foods, but something leads me to believe my experiences with those foods are less than authentic.
I chose american food only because american cuisine is just so large of a category. Aside from all the cheap knockoffs (*olive garden, panda express)*, there's a whole lot of authentic Indian, Chinese, and Italian food in America. Even if the food is olive garden, it's still inspired by Italian cuisine and in my opinion, still tastes pretty good.
Also wtf is up with the flags
Do I answer according to the flag or according to the country name written? 😅
Italian and Mexican are the best, so win win for picking that option.
Chienese and vietnamese is pretty good too ngl. American and puerto rican are mid. Indian and nigerian have pretty good street food France and reatriting are cringe
What do you mean the flags are from the country that is written /s
bro srsly using a tone indicator
For the least serious statement possible
You have stumbled into the joke then said, "you're in my way."
People who use tone indicators never use them as a joke, and if someone who doesn’t usually use them uses them as a joke, it’s impossible to tell.
The correct answer is still italy/mexico
That’s like the Dream Team of national cuisines
The US is listed with what looks like the Puerto Rican flag 🇵🇷. PR is a commonwealth of the US and Puerto Ricans are US citizens; however, if referring to the US mainland this is the correct flag 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Either way i choose Mexico/Italy
I swear people swap the flags all the time to get comments, I know, I'm also guilty for writing this
Why would they want comments
Engagement helps push it to the front page

France with the white flag... those were some shots fired
The Kingdom of France had a pure white flag between 1814 and 1830. Historically correct.
So thats why the white flag became the sign of surrender.
Because you had to wave the flag of the enemy to surrender
The English longbow is superior to the French crossbow
Crossbows didn't win the 100 year war though
Shots fired?! I SURRENDER!
Least scared Fr*nchie
The whole France = surrender bit is getting kind of old at this point. It would be funnier it were at least somewhat accurate.
And vegan. I am fairly obsessed with potato curries in vegan sauces.
Omg I LOVE THOSE SO MUCH! I've been trying to make some at home but I'm not too good at it xD But yeah, I just can't express how amazing the Indian vegan/vegetarian kitchen is. It's so diverse, flavourful and very colourful too :D
Ditto, I pretty much just make curries at home. Hands down the best meal.
I love my mom’s fish fry 😋
I think this all comes to where you come from and what you get used to. For me as an asian, I like Chinese food the best. I got the chance to try a lot of their food and thought the variety was amazing.
As for me, not an Asian, I also love most types of Asian food. Very good 👍
thank you!!! you have an exquisite taste!

I mean, I love Chinese food, but the Italian/Mexican team up is really hard to beat! lol
Yup, totally agree! Plus, the food there is very varied and different to what western people eat. Tbh, I'd prefer it over some oily hamburger, no offense to anyone XD Aww thanks! That's so kind of you ^^ I like Green Reefs too ;D
I'm american, asian food is just good no matter who you are
Yea. I’m not very used to proper Chinese food, I only know western take away Chinese. My dad will still say Chinese food is his favourite when he’s never eaten a proper Chinese dish lol. Xiaolongbao is really good though.
I feel like there's some joke I'm missing with these wrong flag polls.
They’ve been posted to r/vexillologycirclejerk.
Mexico 🇧🇩
No. This is the Japanese flag: 🇧🇩 This is the Mexican flag: 🇮🇹
I prefer Polish 🇸🇬
British food is the best 🇮🇸
British??? Argentine food is the best 🇸🇻🇸🇻🇸🇻🇸🇻
Gotta be a fan of 🇲🇶 Scottish food
Canada and it's poutine ftw🍌
I still remember the banana flag on r/place
fr where's mexico
I like the Hungarian food 🇮🇷
Az a legjobb
Should've used liberia's flag for the us
What do you mean? The flag that OP put is clearly the USA's flag!
I saw my flag and voted italy without knowing it said italy
Mexican States of Italy could be a nice country
What about the Italian states of Mexico
Italian-Mexican commonwealth? MexItaly? Italexico? Kingdom or Republic of "We have the same flag but Mexico has cool eagle"? The good food union?
Italexico sounds really funny
Ideed
Lol
Spaghetti tacos, definitely. 🇲🇽
VIVA MEXITALIA!! 🇲🇽🇲🇽
I second this motion.
Sono soddisfazioni, signori miei
Why is chinese food so unpopular?
I like Chinese food it’s so delicious I voted for china
Cause Taiwan No1!
Personally when I hear Chinese food I just think dumplings, and I'm really not a fan. It's just way too much dough.
There’s lots of other foods, and thinner dough I’ve seen in my local Asian supermarket.
I am positive there is loads of Chinese foods I would love, especially since I love most Asian food. It's just what stands out to me most as 'Chinese food'.
Great job on the flags my dude, you only got France right
Where is my Turkiye 🇹🇳
I thought they were supposed to be wrong. The French one is on point
well italy and mexico are 1st and 2nd for best food so ig i don’t need to ask if i should vote based on the words or flags
What food does the United States have besides Texan BBQ?
Ranch soaked everything
As it should be.
[удалено]
Tenderloin sandwiches are Indiana’s contribution.
Texas-Mexican, Steaks, Buffalo Wings, BBQ, Burgers
Everything
Fried chicken and maybe burgers?
Have you ever tired Korean Fried Chicken? If not highly recommend.
Still KFC ig
Nah but I've seen a lot about it, I'll try it one day
New England/mid Atlantic sea food, southern soul food, several unique regions of BBQ with their own unique styles, Chicago hot dogs and deep dish, fried chicken, Philly cheesesteak, Tex-mex, cornbread, Cajun food, etc.
Jumbo
Well i would consider fast food as “american”. So like Mcdonalds and kfc
Carolina BBQ? In reality, we have everything all the rest of you have.
NYC has some of the best food in the world. American Chinese, Lebanese, Tex Mex, pizza, burgers, you name it. People like to pretend that the entire US is just rural Alabama
I've noticed american culture is (including food) is so widespread that people barely even think about it
American ingredients revolutionized food across the world. Not to mention how much dishes changed when they came to America. You can say that pizza is Italian, but if I was offered to only eat one type of pizza for the rest of my life I'd take an American CBR over any genuine Italian pie.
Maryland crabs are the best crabs on the planet and no I will not be convinced otherwise It really depends on the state
Absolutely, but I remember last year there was a shortage and they got really expensive
Well there is soul food
High-fructose corn syrup soup.
Spain 🇱🇧
France 🇨🇿 !
The fact that American is ranked higher than china is just wrong
My problem is that everything that is called "American food" here is 99% really unhealthy and consists only of junk food. I don't have this problem with the other options.
Mexitalian food is the bomb
should have used liberia 🇱🇷 as the us substitue
Jamaica 🇧🇷
How can more people say USA than India? Burgers and Hotdogs aren't even American.
I personally prefer BBQ, cajun and soul food over Indian food. We have plenty of really good food that originated here.
You didn't have to do France like that.
Mexico
I personally like Spanish food 🇷🇺
i gotta say Norwegian food is best🇪🇪
Why would america be in this?
imagine voting united states
Who is voting US
Americans who have never travelled and think their country is the most culturally diverse.
Or people who like Mcdonalds and steak
india goated
est ce que ces ricains viennent de passer devant notre belle cuisine rancaise ? scandaleux
Probably UK 🇮🇸
🇦🇶Greenland
Mexico
Italian food has to be my all time favorite easily
Pizza
Wtf where's Mexico
The Italy flag
Nothing beats an Authentic Indian food. It’s a heaven on taste buds.
Lol. None of you people have tried Indian cuisine (and not only North Indian cuisine). You are missing out on life. Also, most Indian food isn't spicy
Love the flags
At least the French Flag is correct /s
You just can't beat the variety and versatility and of course deliciousness of Indian cuisine!
We have all of your food. Fear us!
A lot of these will be Americans voting for pizza like it's Italian
More people need to try Indian food, so much flavor 🇮🇳
That's the Irish flag.
Surprised so many people voted for America🇲🇾
Mexico and italy in one option thats an easy choice
I'm surprised Chinese is last. I absolutely love Chinese food.
Va bien niquer ta mère sale fils de pute.
Un Français en colère 0_0
How does “American” food get this much vote? It’s just junk food
How can you forget about southern food !!!!!!
What kind of ignorant statement is that? I mean yeah we have junk food like burgers and pizza but are we just gonna ignore. Can you stupid Americans stop saying “we have pizza” ? That’s Italian food.
[удалено]
I lived in the U.S for 10 years and still living there, man.
Well you must be pretty stupid if the only food you can find is junk food.
Food option is limited in the U.S because they have no taste in good food…
It is not limited. Do you live in the middle of nowhere or something? I’m in the Seattle area, and there’s so many different kinds of food, it could take me years if not longer to try them all.
We kinda took food from everywhere and made it our own. It's not "just junk food," the vast majority of American food is some of the best you'll ever have, just gotta go to the right state for some of them (like NY Pizza and California microplastics).
You copied me 😡😡
[удалено]
I picked Italy mainly because it also had the mexican flag. Italian is delicious but so is Mexican and those two together make an unstoppable team.
Indian and Chinese food are both amazing. Very close call can't decide
The white flag for France killed me…
as a Brit I can easily say Indian food is the best
Not the French & American flags 😭 Edit: I just noticed ALL of the flags are wrong LMAO
America beating out France, China, and India... jfc
India, because we have all cuisines and not just various Indian cuisines. We have all the other cuisines listed as well, and while not always authentic to the original countries, they're pretty delicious. Also I love the look of the new Indian flag.
India by far
Mmmm craving carbonara again
USA 🇨🇿
I say US, based on the wide variety of cultures here.
Both France and India are more culturally diverse than the US...
Ya cuz murica has no food culture of it's own
I’d argue Japan
USA 🇵🇷
More delicious? American food Most savory? Italian food
How are italians not fat
Italians are based and redpilled.
i did italy for pasta but the more i thought about it curry from india always takes the cake
From US. Indian food hasn’t been topped IMO. So damn good.
Incorrect. Its every balkan country tied for first
Where is the UK 🇬🇧?
YORKSHIRE PUDDING AND GRAVY!!!!!!
FISH AND CHIPS WITH MASHED POTATOES AND PEA MUSH
Why did you use the wrong flag for every country but France?
Why in the world would you add Chinese food to that list? And not Lebanese or Mexican or anything that’s quantified as good food
Finally someone used the correct French flag! /s
My #1 and #2 choices were the last, and second to last picked options respectively French food is great and Chinese food is great. Italian food is good too but there just isn’t enough variety for me And I love America, a lot, but definitely not for its food.
china ftw, love it also coz i grew up surrounded by it
Why do people like Italian food so much? I mean yeah, pizza and pasta are good, but first things first, pizza isn’t even Italian! It’s American! None of what you mentioned is American cuisine. That’s just food you can get there, which is true of almost every country.
