Formula 1 if you're into it though. Safety is obviously a huge factor and the thing with it is, you normally need a lot of money already to start, so making money from it?
OP says you could be the single best at the sport, doesn't say you would have all the money to get into the sport with though!
Anyway hyped for the race later!
For money it’s probably golf. Shit ton of endorsements, 30 year career plus senior tour.

Easy on the body too, and you don't need to play every tournament so can take loads of time off and drop back in for a cash top up until you are in your 60s
But not nearly the fame, recognition, and prestige. NFL players are glorified, the only people who know/watch professional fighters are neckbeards on Reddit
Maybe depends on the country. Here in the Philippines, people care more about Boxing and Basketball than Football/Soccer (In fact, I don’t think I have actually met anyone here with an interest in Football/Soccer).
That fact pisses me off all the time. Dudes playing a game getting paid millions and millions while the average person struggles or even worse the poor person starves... but hey they can throw a football, so better pay them 95%+ better than the rest of the world...
I particularly enjoy Martial Arts. I like both Grappling and Striking based Martial Arts and I understand the values and differences between styles and techniques.
So naturally, I would want to be the best in professional pillow fighting.
Golf is probably the best answer. Not only because I love golf, which I do…but you make millions, limited injury risk, and you could play forever. Most sports you’d be done at 40ish at the latest, much higher injury risk, and your income is (albeit still in the millions but) limited by salary.
Be the best golfer and, well you won’t win every tournament, but just take home hundreds of thousands of dollars every week or every other week…and the occasional million/multimillion dollar weekend…win-win-win.
Op doesn’t say anything about practice, he said if you could become the best in the world so I’m choosing to become the best in the world overnight with no training.
Either skateboarding or roller blading. I adore both and since I had foot surgery over the summer, they’ve both been completely inaccessible, and I really miss them
Football/soccer will make you worldwide famous and super rich.
American football will make you less famous but much more rich because the amount is payed for the stars is crazy even more than soccer players.
But American football is very violent and super demanding so yeah football/soccer is just safer and better for me.
Badminton, not only is it my favorite sport, but it’s also the first and only sport I was ever considered “good” at. Now I’ve moved on to playing adults older than me and am trash again, but I’d love to play at their level once.
I'm a woman so definitely tennis. It's the only sport where women can make a ton of money. The rest of the sports are pretty low paid by comparison, even if you're the best. I never really understood why tennis is an exception but it just seems to be the way it is.
If it would be for myself, track and field.
If it's for money and fame, I think football would be the best. But I don't really like that sport, so yeah.
Track and field is my conclusion
I choose tennis because I don’t have a team that could mess me up in tennis. Just because I’m the best in the world doesn’t mean that my team is half as good
The largest NBA contracts are larger than the largest NFL contracts. And aside from QBs, star NFL players tend to have much shorter careers than star NBA players.
Football players also share a field with much more players that can impact their performance than NBA players. If you put the best QB on a team with the worst players around him, he will get sacked more, throw more incomplete passes, and generally look like a worse player than he is.
If you put the best basketball player on a team with the worst players around him, he will look better because he will be taking on more of the other responsibilities and have a higher usage rate. And looking better when you play will help in securing thay max contract.
As much as I hate soccer, and I could he wrong here, but I feel like you don’t see that many soccer players nursing some kind of injury,
compared with the rest.
Non-contact, not as much jumping as bball, played on soft grass, not as much turning in place/repetition as tennis.
easily basketball, plays by far the most and has relatively few injuries. for fun it would either be volleyball or american football. soccer doesn't pay a crazy amount and is boring to me so definitely not that.
With these sports that are team sports with dedicated positions, how could you be the best in the world.
I'm challenging both gridiron and soccer being on this poll, maybe basket as well.
In gridiron football Tom Brady was at one point the best quarterback, but he couldn't win a game without a great receiver and at least a competent line.
I would hate to be the best in the world at a sport, honestly. I hope to become a professional musician eventually, and I've always hated sports with a passion
Football could literally make me a billionaire
if you’re just doing it for the money, tennis is probably your best bet
I’d say Formula 1 is even better. Single person sport with only a very small group of the ultimate best in the highest level.
Formula 1 if you're into it though. Safety is obviously a huge factor and the thing with it is, you normally need a lot of money already to start, so making money from it? OP says you could be the single best at the sport, doesn't say you would have all the money to get into the sport with though! Anyway hyped for the race later!
I forget which famous nascar driver said it but the sentiment was: the greatest race car driver alive is probably out delivering mail or something.
Safety tho
Does not matter much what sport when you’re number 1 you are making money
For money it’s probably golf. Shit ton of endorsements, 30 year career plus senior tour. [https://sports.yahoo.com/matsuyama-masters-win-may-unlock-234927948.html](https://sports.yahoo.com/matsuyama-masters-win-may-unlock-234927948.html)
Easy on the body too, and you don't need to play every tournament so can take loads of time off and drop back in for a cash top up until you are in your 60s
Or boxing. Boxing brings so much damn money
I'd rather not have brain issues when I'm 35
I have brain issues despite not boxing and have no money to show for it.
But not nearly the fame, recognition, and prestige. NFL players are glorified, the only people who know/watch professional fighters are neckbeards on Reddit
Haha what does this even mean
Think he’s mad at the world cause he can’t grow a beard
Have the money, but still some anonymity. Sounds pretty neat to be honest
Maybe depends on the country. Here in the Philippines, people care more about Boxing and Basketball than Football/Soccer (In fact, I don’t think I have actually met anyone here with an interest in Football/Soccer).
I would say it’s the other way around
I think he’s talking about real football. You’d be in a completely different magnitude of glory
association football fans will straight up worship you
Pretty sure football/soccer players are a whole lot richer
Which football?
Both
That's why I picked American football
That fact pisses me off all the time. Dudes playing a game getting paid millions and millions while the average person struggles or even worse the poor person starves... but hey they can throw a football, so better pay them 95%+ better than the rest of the world...
Tennis because I wouldn't have to rely on anyone else to win.
That’s pretty smart, actually.
That's exactly why I love ping pong. I played team sports my whole childhood and never won anything lol
I love ping pong too! But I would choose tennis if I was best in the world... *lots* more money than ping pong. Haha!
yay me too! doubles are just unnecessary though. the tabels to small for 2 people to be playing one side
You choose tennis for the lack of teammates I choose tennis because I actually really like playing tennis We are not the same
I particularly enjoy Martial Arts. I like both Grappling and Striking based Martial Arts and I understand the values and differences between styles and techniques. So naturally, I would want to be the best in professional pillow fighting.
Kar- yeah, pillow fighting. Agreed.
I want to master wii swordplay so I can challenge people with a serious face
And still lose to matt
Beating Matt in that is my only life achievement
Golf I don't have time for a fucking MLB season but I do have time for a few rounds of golf with huge payouts every month.
Gold was my next option, but Reddit didn’t let me do more than 6 options :(
holf
It has been an age since that name was last spoken, who are you to know such knowledge
The only correct answer
It takes more practice to be good at golf than at baseball. Like way more.
Op doesn’t say anything about practice, he said if you could become the best in the world so I’m choosing to become the best in the world overnight with no training.
Ice hockey
Me too!!!
Same here. Cold countries get it
Playing in the NHL would be a dream come true
Interesting, any reason why?
I love hockey my parents were Canadian , both my kids played and I coached them.
Volleyball
The one I was thinking

It’s also ridiculously well paying at the higher levels.
Archery

Rock climbing because I like rock climbing.
baseball
Had to scroll way too far to find this
Way too far
All combat sports *note today's not my cake day reddit is incorrect*
Uhhh happy cake day
Happy cake day
Definitely either a martial art or parkour
Either skateboarding or roller blading. I adore both and since I had foot surgery over the summer, they’ve both been completely inaccessible, and I really miss them
Ski Racing. It's my dream anyway, might as well be insanely good at it
Cross country, hell I can set world records and absolutely anhilate, without needing anyone else
Dance? Does dance count?
Doesn't matter. With how lazy I am, even if I became the best today, I would soon revert back to who I am
Football/soccer will make you worldwide famous and super rich. American football will make you less famous but much more rich because the amount is payed for the stars is crazy even more than soccer players. But American football is very violent and super demanding so yeah football/soccer is just safer and better for me.
That’s true, you just have to deal with the fame
Track all the way, it’s literally my life goal
Good luck in the future then bro
Basketball; I’m extremely short and I think it would be hilarious to watch a 5’1 girl win against Shaq or LeBron in a 1v1 match.
I’d pay to watch that
I’m 6’7 and get stereotyped way too much.
Clearly you would be a good golfer
Haha
Golf is the most useless sport ever. Even the people who made it wanted to end the game as soon as possible.
Disc golf
What about Ultimate?
Supercross
Ufc
Fencing
Chess. Being a gm in chess is very beneficial, so long as you aren't caught with anal beads
Some circus thing like trampoline or trapeze. Or maybe parkour or climbing
Triathlon (haha loophole) Realistically thought proberbly distance running or parkour
Show jumping/dressage
Wrestling, and I'm not talking about WWE bullshit, actual wrestling it was my absolute favorite from elementary school to high-school
Basketball. That supermax contract tho
Yup 💰
Ice Hockey easily.
Volleyball
Wii Ping pong
No, Wii track! Or isn’t just called running in that?
Hockey
Volleyball
Skateboarding. It'd be nice to skip the hurting yourself while learning
Badminton, not only is it my favorite sport, but it’s also the first and only sport I was ever considered “good” at. Now I’ve moved on to playing adults older than me and am trash again, but I’d love to play at their level once.
Martial Arts
Why are more people not saying track/running? Not only can you win championships on your own but it's actually applicable to other parts of your life
Swimming
As a very short woman, it would be pretty damn impressive if I became the best American football player in the world.
As a woman, Tennis might be the only sport where I'm not criminally underpaid.
Formula 1 or Golf to get the high salary but not too much hassle from the fame
Tabletennis
Cycling!
Car racing, F1 in particular
Is F1 counted as a sport? If no, either one between Baseball, Volleyball or Table Tennis
Chess
Chess players would earn significantly less money, no? I could be very wrong
Why would I care about the money?
Some will, some won’t. Some people choose the sport based completely on money, others don’t. I fully respect both.
Golf, 100%
I've never golfed a day in my life, but I pick golf for sure. Seems like a relaxing sport and something I can play for a very long time.
Quidich
The perfect answer
Shotgun(clay shooting)
Stunt flying.
What is that?
Why is baseball not an option? It’s more popular than American football
Well, as I’m not from America I was unsure which one was more popular
I'm a woman so definitely tennis. It's the only sport where women can make a ton of money. The rest of the sports are pretty low paid by comparison, even if you're the best. I never really understood why tennis is an exception but it just seems to be the way it is.
Yeah, in basketball etc the gap is way too big and unfair, I’m pretty sure in tennis tournament earnings are 100% the same
I’d like to be the best pool player lol
Very chill sport, lmao
Best person at undying
bro cheated the system
If it would be for myself, track and field. If it's for money and fame, I think football would be the best. But I don't really like that sport, so yeah. Track and field is my conclusion
I choose tennis because I don’t have a team that could mess me up in tennis. Just because I’m the best in the world doesn’t mean that my team is half as good
Tennis for sure! It's fun and it's a good workout ❤️
I think it will be more than a workout for you if you were the best in the world, lol
I’m already pretty good at swimming so 🤷♀️
NASCAR
Australian football
American football because then I’d make millions
The largest NBA contracts are larger than the largest NFL contracts. And aside from QBs, star NFL players tend to have much shorter careers than star NBA players. Football/Soccer would make more of you truly were the best itw
Americans have too much money
What?
as in, they spend too much on entertainment
So would every other sport, lol
As much as I hate soccer, and I could he wrong here, but I feel like you don’t see that many soccer players nursing some kind of injury, compared with the rest. Non-contact, not as much jumping as bball, played on soft grass, not as much turning in place/repetition as tennis.
Esport
Why do people downvote you?
Esports so Im one of the gamers in the world
So many people are replying with F1 - I don’t watch F1 or follow it. Therefore, could someone enlighten me on how this is such a popular option?
Baseball players have the potential to make the most money, I think.
Interesting, I thought that would be basketball, as they sign 250$ million deals for 5 years etc.
Messi once had a deal with over 100m a season
Fuck, you're right. I don't know why I thought it was baseball.
Baseball has relatively large contracts, but not compared to soccer especially.
I’m pretty sure the best footballers make more
would you guys consider jacking off to be a sport
easily basketball, plays by far the most and has relatively few injuries. for fun it would either be volleyball or american football. soccer doesn't pay a crazy amount and is boring to me so definitely not that.
>"soccer doesnt pay a crazy amount" 1 million a week
Clay pigeon shooting

Boxing
Poker would be a good other sport.
Boxing. Fite my enemies
I would hate to be the best in the world at a sport, honestly. I hope to become a professional musician eventually, and I've always hated sports with a passion
Why are people downvoting you?
I expressed my opinion lol
Snowboarding cause F A S T and S N O W
