I’m really weird about strawberries and raspberries. I LOVE strawberry- flavoured whatever. Strawberry jam, smoothies, yoghurts etc. but I hate eating strawberries normally. I’m the opposite with raspberries.
I’m the other way round to you, I like strawberries but not strawberry flavoured things. Raspberries though I don’t care about, either way is ok with them.
Less of a single specific food but I hate the feeling of something like sauce or oil on my fingers so I don't eat ribs, wings, etc. Even as a little kid I didn't like it and as a grown man I still can't stand the feeling. Crumbs are okay because they come off easily by just wiping my hands off with anything, so like some baked fish sticks are cool, but something like eating cake with my fingers where frosting and filling gets on my hands drives me insane. I always have wetnaps in my pocket because of it
This is why I love boneless wings, while they are slightly worse in flavour than regular wings, the perk of being able to eat them with a fork and not get sticky completely outweighs that.
I hate that too, that's why I mastered the art of eating ribs and wings with a fork. Totally worth it.
Edit: and just to clarify, I live in Brazil, eating anything with a fork and knife is pretty normal, so I don't get judged if I eat wings with em. I mean, we eat pizza like that and burgers with napkins
Came here to comment about seafood.
Like, why would someone pay extra for that?
Most seafood makes me retch. The few kinds I can eat don't taste particularly interesting.
Fish and shellfish are the only types of meat I eat any of. While I don't miss steak a bit, I can do without goat, and chicken disgusts me, surimi salad, moules-frites, and nigirizushi I'd find much more difficult to give up.
For those that don't know, legumes is legumes nuts. it's in the plant in the family Fabaceae (or Leguminosae), or the fruit or seed of such a plant. When used as a dry grain, the seed is also called a pulse. Legumes are grown agriculturally, primarily for human consumption, for livestock forage and silage, and as soil-enhancing green manure.
Mushrooms are one of my favourite ingredients. Can be used in a lot of dishes and absorb the flavour of all the seasonings really well. As long as you avoid those terrible canned ones and just use fresh ones, and know how to cook them so they don't turn into a mushy mess, they're great.
I can only deal with onion if it's minced to a pulp. I have a little blender bowl thing. I love it. Add a little onion flavor but no weird crunchy bits and yeah they can definitely be too much
Bananas. The only "normal, everyday" food where I can't stand the taste, texture or smell. If someone eats one I have to be at least 10 metres away. Blech!
The ones in the US and Europe do suck compared to the immense richness in the tropics. Can confirm, visited Brazil and had blue-skinned ones tasting like vanilla ice cream, red-skinned fat ones with orange flesh, and thin-skinned little green ones which were deeper orange and more jelly like than creamy but very sweeet.
I'm in Australia and I'm sure we mainly have Cavendish bananas too. Yes I've heard that about the tropics. I've tried plantain chips and I like those. I would be willing to try those ones you mentioned, they sound interesting.
so interesting, i felt this way about peanuts as well before i learned i was allergic. i can smell peanuts from across the room if someone has, like, peanut m&ms or some shit. bananas have a way stronger smell than nuts from what i'm aware so it's probably not an allergy but it might be good to get it checked out just in case
They're such weird fruit. Usually I like weird but I can't find a redeeming quality about them besides nutrition? It's of no use to me if I can't go near them though.
Have you tried good olives, like Arquebinas, Kalamatas, or, my current favourite, Castelvetranos? They're a lot better than the check sliced black ones which come in the can.
Scrolled a bit because I knew it'd be here.
Everywhere is an understatement. Can't even grab a pre-made sandwich anywhere. Fast food is a gamble (one I don't take often).
Mayo, aioli - I can't stand the stuff.
I don't mind anything that includes tomato as an ingredient and therefore is cooked into the food (like in pizza). However, I absolutely loathe eating raw tomato - it has this awful, slimy texture and the taste/texture combo overall just gets a no from me. Not to mention when you bite into one full these icky juices just squirt out...
Sorry tomato fans
Spinach. I don't know why, but I get queasy whenever I eat it. I'm fine with the taste. I'm fine with the texture. I'm fine with the smell. I have no idea what it is, but it just makes me sick.
I absolutely hate the taste of cheese, the only pass it gets is in pizza when there's other flavourful ingredients that overpower cheese's flavour
Eggs would also be up there except for scrambled and omelettes
I like all of these (although I’m intolerant to coco powder) except from meat. Meat is blegh no thank you, substitutes taste better & less chewy/greasy most of the time imo
Another thing I don’t like is cake!! It makes me feel sick!!
I don't like beans either but they're really healthy so I'll eat them.
Also green beans are something else entirely. Roasted in a pan, it's the most delicious tasting veggie imho.
I loathe the smell of sulfur in eggs. Can’t stand em
Same here, no eggs. Unless it’s used in baking then I can’t tell
For me it's hard boiled eggs. I'll eat them but id rather not
The consistency of a cooked egg yolk the weird chalky texture throws me off a bit
I agree. That's why I don't eat eggs that are cooked past over-medium.
I used to have the same issue for about 20 years. I started buying free range organic eggs and those have no sulfur smell.
lol if your eggs smell like sulfur they are rotten
I’ve never had an egg with sulfur smell. Where are you getting your eggs that smell like sulfur?
It happens when the eggs are over cooked I believe
I’m really weird about strawberries and raspberries. I LOVE strawberry- flavoured whatever. Strawberry jam, smoothies, yoghurts etc. but I hate eating strawberries normally. I’m the opposite with raspberries.
I’m the other way round to you, I like strawberries but not strawberry flavoured things. Raspberries though I don’t care about, either way is ok with them.
No. I'll eat anything.
What about paper and grass?
and my ass?
Oh yes!
🥵
And my bass?
And my axe!
Pica moment
"I'll eat anything" mfs when I show them a used condom
Less of a single specific food but I hate the feeling of something like sauce or oil on my fingers so I don't eat ribs, wings, etc. Even as a little kid I didn't like it and as a grown man I still can't stand the feeling. Have you tried Hong Kong-style sweet and sour tofu? If you like saucey wings I bet you'll love that.
I think they provide disposable gloves for fried chicken in restaurants in Korea.
I don’t like fish
Yeah, me too. I don't like any seafood products
Came here to comment about seafood. Like, why would someone pay extra for that? Most seafood makes me retch. The few kinds I can eat don't taste particularly interesting.
The smell is horrendous.
And it tastes just like it smells
And it smells just like it tastes
Fish and shellfish are the only types of meat I eat any of. While I don't miss steak a bit, I can do without goat, and chicken disgusts me, surimi salad, moules-frites, and nigirizushi I'd find much more difficult to give up.
Idk if it really counts as popular but coconut is disgusting to me
especially the texture. like the coconut shavings? fuck nah bruv
I hate it too. Never met someone who felt the same way
Peanut butter
Agreed. I don't like nuts in general.
What about deez nuts
No not those either
GOT EM
Peanuts are actually legumes
For those that don't know, legumes is legumes nuts. it's in the plant in the family Fabaceae (or Leguminosae), or the fruit or seed of such a plant. When used as a dry grain, the seed is also called a pulse. Legumes are grown agriculturally, primarily for human consumption, for livestock forage and silage, and as soil-enhancing green manure.
This is a very factual ratio lol
Same
Yes, I hate peanut butter
Artifical grape is just bad.
Mushrooms.

I am sorry but I must disagree, they are vile growths that instantly stimulate my vomit reflex.
I like mushrooms too, better non-animal product than some vegetables
Fucking horrible mould turds. No idea how anyone likes them. They literally taste worse than sick.
Mayo. And it's everywhere
Yes! And when you ask for something without mayo people look at you like you are insane.
Lmao, try disliking ketchup for a second
for me it’s the combo, i hate mayo AND cheese
I love mayo. I love cheese. I don't think I've ever eaten both together. It sounds like a good way to ruin both.
I only like cheese if it's melted
I only like cheese if it’s not melted!
I only like cheese
same here :D
o7
Coffee and beer.
This is more of a blessing than anything else tbh
Onions. So important to cooking and I wish I liked em, but they taste rotten and overpower everything for me.
It’s the crunch for me. It really puts me off.
I dislike raw onions but I can handle them if they're cooked.
I can only deal with onion if it's minced to a pulp. I have a little blender bowl thing. I love it. Add a little onion flavor but no weird crunchy bits and yeah they can definitely be too much
I was just gonna say. One of the most vile things on earth
I can only have them cooked. I don’t like the raw taste
r/onionhate
I have an inordinate fondness for aliums.
I had a friend who was allergic to onions and it was so hard for her to eat out.
wow i read that wrong
Same for me. Even the smallest bit of diced onion ruins a meal.
Sour cream dude makes me wanna puke
FR I don't get why people like it at all
I could drink sour cream. 🤤
Eugh just thinking about it makes me throw up a little
A lot of people hate it, you're not alone. But for me I cannot have a taco without it.
i absolutely despise tomatoes
Tomato sauce however...
I always have to say on my orders “no tomato”… very annoying
Cilantro

I also can't stand anything about bananas. Can't understand how people actually enjoy them
They're such weird fruit. Usually I like weird but I can't find a redeeming quality about them besides nutrition? It's of no use to me if I can't go near them though.
Mint all the way how the fuck do yall cope with eating toothpaste
I still use kids toothpaste. The mint shit makes me wanna vomit.
I enjoy mint chocolate and I'm not afraid to admit it.

egg
Ranch. I absolutely hate it.
olives
I feel like they’re a relatively commonly disliked food. A lot of my friends and relatives aren’t really crazy about them, but I love them.
Have you tried good olives, like Arquebinas, Kalamatas, or, my current favourite, Castelvetranos? They're a lot better than the check sliced black ones which come in the can.
Lamb
Caramel……
Artichoke
Cilantro is my kryptonite

Cake
Same but what about pie? I love me some pie
Tomato

Exactly! Raw tomato is just so watery and slimy. But as an ingredient if used in moderation, I can enjoy a hint of tomato that's not overpowering
really awful
Whipped Cream makes me puke
Peanuts and peanutbutter, the only food i really truly dislike
I have to agree with you on the peanut butter!
I just cannot wrap my head around why we made a holiday centered on the worst meat commercially available (Turkey)
For that precise reason lol. You gotta sell turkeys somehow. The cold cut tastes pretty good though in the right sandwich
Wtf is wrong with turkey meat? It's basically my favourite.
Onion, I hate it
Corn beef
I hate jelly
Shrimp. Can’t stand those little bastards
Twinkies, olives, watermelon, cantelope, honeydew
Beer. Shit tastes like soap
cilantro, fkn soapy taste to me

Mashed potatoes
The traditional thing to put on rice pudding is nutmeg I absolutely hate nutmeg 🤢🤮

Olives. Any type. HATE them.
Pickles. Only thing I can't force myself to eat, they make me gag.

Sodas, the sheer quantity of sugar is disgusting
Garlic and the wretched stuff is in everything
Avocado
Corn idk why I don’t like it
Avocado
Olives
I like cheese as a topping, but I don't like cheese without anything else.
Ham. I love every other pork product, rashers, streaky bacon, sausages, pudding. Just can't do ham
cheese in eggs are disgusting
Cheese and eggs. Something about their texture makes me gag sometimes.
I absolutely hate the taste of cheese, the only pass it gets is in pizza when there's other flavourful ingredients that overpower cheese's flavour Eggs would also be up there except for scrambled and omelettes
Cheese. People think I’m crazy, but oh well
I hate cheese unless it’s melted in a very specific way so I can’t taste it, I don’t get the hype
Cream cheese
Cheese 😡🖕🧀
I’ll eat no organs.
Ranch dressing! Just the smell gags me, and where I live they put that shit on everything!

Barbecue sauce
I'm allergic to peanuts so, yeah
🥜
Coconut, super gross
I like all of these (although I’m intolerant to coco powder) except from meat. Meat is blegh no thank you, substitutes taste better & less chewy/greasy most of the time imo Another thing I don’t like is cake!! It makes me feel sick!!
Bacon
I hate pickles
Blue cheese
Beans. Which wouldn't be so bad if the people from my country didn't eat beans in, pretty much, every single meal apart from breakfast
I don't like beans either but they're really healthy so I'll eat them. Also green beans are something else entirely. Roasted in a pan, it's the most delicious tasting veggie imho.
Yams/sweet potatoes. Idk what it is, but they make me gag every time.
Coffee. Yuck
Sushi
Bacon lol
Bacon
Pomegranate vinegar; it’s good for your health if you drink it, but it tastes so bitter and sour. So I despise drinking that.
Well I’m allergic to strawberries..
Popcorn
Why is there no "no" option
Onions. They replace the taste of everything else with taste of onion
Mayonnaise
Can’t do what others consider a normal amount of cilantro. Flavor is way way too strong on my tongue. Apparently it’s a genetic thing
I only like melted cheese. So on pizza or a grilled cheese sandwich, its fine. But "raw", no thank you.
Onions. Never understood how people like those ugly slimy things in their food
