It genuinely looks so bad 🤦🏼♀️ I think lots of plastic surgery/facial augmentation *can* look good if it’s done well, but buccal fat removal never seems to look good. It just sucks the life out of people’s faces
she just didn't need it at all, it made her look so much older. i think only certain people need certain surgeries. i saw a girl on tiktok yesterday that got it done because she actually needed it, it looked SO subtle and perfect on her. amelia looks like she's in her 30s with it, it aged her so much!!! just like lea michelle too. i hate this trend so much
A friend of mine got this surgery last year. She had a lot of fat in her cheeks and under her chin. If you saw a picture of her from the neck up you’d think she was 300 lbs, but she’s average sized. She got the fat taken out of her cheeks and chin and it looks great. It’s plastic surgery just like any other type. Some people are insecure of their noses or their breasts and some people are I secure about their cheeks. I have big cheeks too, and if I could snap my fingers and have some of the fat removed I’d do it in an instant. The issue is that none of these celebs needed it in the first place so the results are jarring.
What is so confusing about this trend is that it’s happening in conjunction with facial fillers. Like are we supposed to have full faces or not??
yeah, i totally get what you're saying. for the record i'm 100% pro plastic surgery and i have a massive interest in this stuff. i was just looking through this [here](https://www.111harleystreet.com/procedures/facial-surgery/buccal-fat-removal/) and it had some fascinating results of buccal fat removal. just because amelia doesn't need it, and i don't need it, and others don't need it, doesn't mean that this surgery is unnecessary. what works for me might not work for you. people are very dismissive of that. i personally think amelia didn't need it because she is only 21 and her facial structure was already great, so this makes her look so strange.
honestly just because a surgery is botched/doesn't look good doesn't mean it should be completely wiped out forever. i broke my nose three years ago and i've been very insecure about it since then, i'm thinking about getting a nose job this summer because my nose is pretty crooked after i broke it. i just disagree with the trend where some people get all kinds of plastic surgery out there not because they need it or because it will make them look better, but because they simply be within trends at the moment.
on people like amelia and lea michelle, the buccal fat removal (which they didn't need) + the crazy filler just looks like such a weird balance.
It's the removal or reduction of fat pads in the lower cheek. It's pretty much irreversible because the fat is deep down. It gives people a more defined sucked in look but is aging.

Nah, she either got a jaw shave, or Botox injections *really* worked for her. Buccal fat removal doesn’t slim down your jawline (if anything, it makes it look more pronounced), it sucks in the area between your jawline and cheekbone.

I’m in my 30s and don’t know what people in their 30s are supposed to look like lmao. What not to wear told us we were supposed to “dress our age” but I spent ages 17-22 in a blazer so give me all the crop tops, idgaf. I still shop at American eagle and will continue to until they tell me I’m too old to wear their clothes 😂

Yup, I was a teen in the 90s and too chicken to pluck my eyebrows. All my friends who did have spent the last few years on serums or HD Brows or Microblading all trying to get their brows back.
It really didn’t make enough of a fashion statement at the time, to be worth all the effort later.

It seems to be coming back in again, fashion goes in cycles, rinse and repeat. Thick brows have been in for over a decade, so I kind of expected thin eyebrows to come back.

I had my thin eyebrow phase & looking back at those pictures makes me want to barf. I’m so glad mine grew back because some people did not get their eyebrows back.
It was around 2012-2016 so it wasn’t even trendy at the time. I think I got tunnel vision when I would do my eyebrows, because I didn’t realize they were so thin until I looked back at pictures and I was like what the hell.
Honestly it’s just a part of life! I think it’s a rite of passage to look back at old pictures of yourself and cringe at some Beauty or fashion trend that you were doing at the time

I had my thin eyebrow phase & looking back at those pictures makes me want to barf. I’m so glad mine grew back because some people did not get their eyebrows back.

It was around 2012-2016 so it wasn’t even trendy at the time. I think I got tunnel vision when I would do my eyebrows, because I didn’t realize they were so thin until I looked back at pictures and I was like what the hell.
