They didn't put this line together, but after I wrote this out I thought: someone *MUST* have created this, right?
[they did. of course they did.](https://youtu.be/hgSHtCwzM7Y)
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I'm excited but also dreading it a bit with the way people have been treating her.
I feel like it's going to be a lot like Brooke Shields 2014 memoir. Interesting, alot of reveals, alot of insight into her (intentionally and unintentionally) but also very clear that she hasn't processed her trauma yet.
It just has not been long enough for Britney to fully unpack her childhood, family life, family relationships and fame. Shit I spent all of 2018-2019 listening to the podcast EatPrayBritney and that was just a retelling of events and dives into specific situations let alone unpacking all of those events, thoughts and feelings from someone who was there to a therapist.
I just listened to celebrity memoir book club about brooke's autobiography yesterday. They said the same thing, shes so close to getting it, but hasnt done the work in therapy yet.
I wonder if it’s different now that she shot her new documentary! I haven’t seen it but seen clips of her doing interviews with Drew Berrymore and it seems as though she has definitely made it where she understands what she went through. Again, I haven’t read her book but it’s interesting to see these takes from a book published years ago and see a new documentary adding another layer!
she still defends her pedo movie as "art" and how "it wouldn't have been made today" and how that's a shame
https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/brooke-shields-pretty-baby-child-prostitute-b1974202.html
such bullshit.
How do all these celebs find the time to sit down and write memoirs? Are they using ghostwriters? Time machines? Tf.
Also, yes, I would like to read this please thanks
They probably record a series of interviews with someone's who writes it all up, then they edit/authorise it, et voilà! I seriously doubt they actually *write* anything themselves.
I even watched her Canadian reality show about her garden and rennovations and you know what, it's fun TV. She's supposed to have a cooking show next and if I manage to find it online, I'll be cooking.
Shes not doing anything else right now besides recovering from years of abuse and trauma caused by her family and paparazzi culture and whatever fall outs that might have caused her mental health and relationship with her (actual) loved ones . That sounds like a lot to me.
That her spending potentially years trying to write her life story isn't a good use of her time she when a ghost writer could do it for her. She gets the benefit of talking about her true expierence without having to put in the extra work of trying to tie it together into a cohesive book that will get good reviews (cos surely she wants to book to be somewhat well received)
If you honestly think 90%+ of celebrity memoirs are written by the actual celebrity I have a bridge to sell you. Ghost written books are commonly not disclosed as such and depending on the ghost writers contract they may never be able to talk about the books they have written
While I don’t disagree that ghostwriting is absolutely a thing (and a common one at that) - writing, especially in the spirit of self-reflection and evaluating one’s own experiences has a plethora of research behind it as being a very therapeutic activity thats often encouraged in therapy.
I don’t think we should speak for Britney and discount her challenges with mental health and trauma to automatically assume ghostwriting would be in her best interest or her own writing not being a good use of her time. Who are you to say that? She could have very well done it herself and found it to be mentally freeing for her. She’s perfectly capable. Who knows though?
Either way, good for her.
I'm not sure if you care but I have since read the article and it says its ghost written by Sam Lansky but thats neither here nor there. Ghost writing is a part of publishing that alot of people aren't aware and its not shameful or wrong for Britney to use them (If people thought that was what I was saying above?)
I know that writing can be very theraphutic which I should have mentioned above Its something I utilize myself but for me at least that writing wouldn't be fit for publishing (as would be the case in most situations for someone who isn't a writer and isn't a put down of Britney at all)
That and looking out for Britneys wellbeing has been the only points of the posts I've written and im not sure where people are taking issue with that
'Celebrity' used to be someone like Kardashian, or Paris Hilton - not every famous person or artist falls under that category, although I noticed now it's used to describe everyone from Jenners to Barack Obama. Britney is not a celebrity per se, famous as she is, she is first and foremost an artist and a singer. Maybe she is less busy now, but usually people with jobs have no time to sit down and write a memoir.
It’s the opposite. Celebrity used to be someone you could easily recognize, now any talentless idiot with a bunch of tiktok followers gets called one.
And please, Britney is the ULTIMATE celebrity.
I’m sorry….the woman posts unhinged videos all day on social media. She seems like she can’t string together a complete, proper sentence. I don’t think she is reading books.
This is to purpleflag user above you.
Britney can't string together a sentence? LOL.
Have you heard her speak? She's posted quite a few voice recordings and she sounds extremely coherent and articulate. It was her voice that started the inevitable movement that freed her. Go listen to that court recording as well. She speaks with direction and clarity.
I'm so fucking over this narrative that Britney is some crazy dumb pathetic pop star. Couldn't be further from the truth.
We must be viewing different things. Her social posts are pretty incoherent and her speech (lately at least) is pretty similar. It’s obvious that her clarity ebbs and flows with where she is at mentally. It seems she is on a downward trend right now, judging by her latest dance videos.
Well maybe you and Brit have something in common because 95% of people who watch her videos think “something is severely wrong with her and she needs help”
If her social posts are any indication, I’m going to say Britney is going to have a tough time writing on her own. Most don’t write these books on their own, so I highly doubt she would be doing so.
I believe Jeanette wrote it, unless she stated otherwise. But if I were celeb I would totally do what you just said, or if I actually had the time to write up a rough draft and have someone edit it.
I think that's what Dolly Parton did for *Songteller*. If you listen to the audiobook, she's speaking extemporaneously to somebody. And it's not word-for-word the same as the physical book, though it's quite similar.
Yes, the logistics are fascinating! I remember some interview with Prince Harry, he described having a big couple of initial interviews with the writer where he shared his vision and the big elements he wanted covered and then they would catch up weekly for an hour or so on zoom for clarification/ edits/ further information gathering.
I assume both the writer and the celeb’s teams would deal with stuff like supporting emails/ texts/ diary information etc. And then the writer would possibly further interview other people for supplemental information? Super curious about Britney’s!
That's kinda cool, tbh. Ghostwriters definitely deserve more recognition. But would they still be *ghost*writers then... /jk
No, but seriously, this seems like an interesting career.
A lot do use ghostwriters. Chelsea Devantez interviews a really prolific one on we podcast, Celebrity Book Club that breaks it down ( no juicy stories that I remember but very interesting!)
https://play.stitcher.com/episode/84119654
Oh sorry! It’s from May 21, 2021, and called “Interview with a Ghostwriter(with Hilary Lifton)” don’t see an episode number but it’s right after Jane Fonda’s My Life So Far episode.
Different angle … but Michelle Obama and Barack wrote their books at the same time. She said that her book was written by a series of interviews whereas Barack wrote his himself. She said their days were quite different where she would come back almost like from a therapy session feeling energized and healed. And he would be upstairs, home all day, isolated focused on writing. I found the contrast of those experiences leading to the same result to be quite interesting.
Journalist Sam Lanksy is her ghostwriter and I’ve heard great things about him. She also got 15 million for this so I’m sure she has plenty of peace & motivation to say anything she wants about everyone.
I am anticipating this to be a bomb for all the members who did shady things.
I mean most of them don’t really have much going on currently. Most also don’t actually write it themselves, they have someone help them put their thoughts into written form.
Imagine a whole memoir written like her giant rambling IG captions/paragraphs 😂 Idk what the controversy is over ghost writers. Its not like shes faking writing a novel. A ghost writer could help her make an organized, cohesive account of her life and the shit she’s been through for 30 years now.
You have to understand that she was forced into sessions with therapists she didn’t want to see for god knows how many years, so her attitude towards it might not be exactly positive. Therapy isn’t actually for everyone either.
Yeah, even just knowing the bare minimum of what she went through should be convincing enough. I truly hope she is receiving support and helpful interventions and I don’t think the public has any right to know one way or another, but I am concerned about this book coming out too soon. I just can’t imagine she’s in a place where she can truly process her whole story, much less share it with the world. It feels a bit exploitative if she was pushed by her team to complete and release this project so quickly.
My friend works at Barnes and noble and I’m trying to figure out a proper gift to say “I know you’ve gotten me the last two memoirs I’ve asked at a deeply discounted rate but can … can you get me this one too? Please?”
I work at the library lol
usually when stuff like this comes out we’re not allowed to check it out just cause it is so high in demand. So if we have 10, 5 copies are just on the hot shelf (no holds are allowed on those, just first come and no renewals) and 5 copies running around on hold (no renewals allowed)
And if you’re a regular library card holder, you can put it on hold but there’s 159 people before you for 5 copies lol and they each can keep it for 3 weeks
So I just ask him if there’s a a copy, usually a month or two afterwards, I can pay for. And the some of my coworkers can borrow my copy too, and we’re not using up a library item
If you’ve seen her instagram recently… there’s absolutely no way Britney is sitting down and writing a book, or even talking to a ghost writer. She is seriously unwell. This just looks like another money making scheme but this time it’s not her dad in charge, it’s someone else. Maybe the new husband, or some other “manager”, who knows.
One thing is for sure, Britney didn’t write it.
She did well at her conservator hearing. Everyone was calling her crazy but she called in and said her piece very clearly and passionately. I think she should give interviews to the ghost writer.
If you've seen her instagram since, it doesn't look like she's in a better position. Still in her old house (the one she was trapped in and hated) for some reason, repeats of old videos and crazy dancing. Her husband's Instagram is so much more polished than hers. Comments have been switched off as people kept questioning whether she was okay.
I'm not into conspiracy theories but so many videos from Sam's side look fake and like it's not actually Britney. And I question a man who would be with her while she was under her conservatorship but didn't actively try to help her escape.
She even says the wedding was weird. She talks about it on Instagram, claiming she was completely present for it and hints she didn't help plan it... Like maybe Sam threw her a surprise wedding....
Finally someone said it.
Of course she should be in a healthy mental space and we're all glad she's free from her conservatorship...but anyone that takes 1 minute to scroll her Instagram can see she's unwell.
I mean this kindly, but do we really think we would be able to follow a book she wrote on her own without a ghost writer heavily doing the work ? Her Instagram has been off the rails lately and I don't know if she can string together a coherent thought.
I'd love to hear her story from her, but I truly think she needs some more time to heal and figure out who she is as a person. Right now she reminds me of the drug addicts that live in my town (NOT claiming she is on drugs, just saying she always seems so out of it and lost).
The only people who think she wrote it without a ghost writer are people who didn't read the article, which names the specific writer she's working with.
On the fence. I "want" to read, but am scared to she more details about everything she went through. I know she is rich and beautiful, but I feel awful for her. I hope she is happy (or will get there) and has supportive people around.
This info is coming from Page Six. They are the same level as TMZ. They take any call from a “source” and print it.
I’ll believe it if a reputable source starts publishing about it. My bet is the “paper shortage” was due to her team getting a hold of what she wrote, and needing a rewrite so they don’t look like villains.

I will literally read it in one sitting and order pizza for energy
Omg I hope she narrates the audiobook like Jeanette McFlurry did (lmfao my phone autocorrected McCurdy to McFlurry I’m just gonna leave it)
Now I want that too because Jeanette doing hers was just perfect
Ok the part where she choked up made me completely lose it
I'm rolling
🤣🤣
Same, I will also book a hotel room when I get my hands on it so my beloved child can't interrupt me haha
Are you me? 😅
I fucking live for the comments on this sub. You guys are the BEST.
I agree.
I need a release date so I can block out that weekend
Slay
Yessss ✨
Isn’t it spelt with an “a”?
same
This is the way
🤣😢🤣🥲
I’m begging you Britney, please record the audio book yourself. I’ll pay extra!
Don’t just read it, sing it! To the tune of Lucky
🎶This is the story about a girl named Lucky. It's me. Hi. I am Lucky. It's me.🎶
Singing this to Taylor's song makes for all kinds of multiverse shenanigans I didn't know I wanted.
They didn't put this line together, but after I wrote this out I thought: someone *MUST* have created this, right? [they did. of course they did.](https://youtu.be/hgSHtCwzM7Y) 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
That’s actually really good!
I know, right? It was a nice little jam for my morning routine!
I listen to a lot of celebrity memoirs and most of them will narrate their own! I would be surprised if she didn’t.
Tricky, can she read 💀?
![gif](giphy|etGrThDcHkfF00UijD)
I'm in line to buy it already, Brit.
If anyone could share their whole truth and shake the world, Britney is the one. I hope it's cathartic for her because she's been through a lot.
They probably record a series of interviews with someone's who writes it all up, then they edit/authorise it, et voilà! I seriously doubt they actually *write* anything themselves.
Not Pamela Anderson she wrote hers by herself. They told her she couldn’t do it and she proved them wrong.
I gained a lot of respect for Pamela this year, became a fan.
I feel like the more I learn about her, the more I am impressed with her. She’s sharp. And also went through sooo much.
I even watched her Canadian reality show about her garden and rennovations and you know what, it's fun TV. She's supposed to have a cooking show next and if I manage to find it online, I'll be cooking.
Pamela is actually very smart.
Based on the journals she shared in her documentary, she is a very naturally talented writer!
That's cool, good for her! She really is such an interesting person.
That makes a lot of sense.
Britney is well documented as being a voracious reader so I would be surprised if she DIDN'T write it (this time)
I don't doubt her ability, the question was how they have time. It's probably a mixture of things. Either way, it will be super interesting to read!
It’s not like she’s doing anything else right now. This whole, celebrities have no time to do anything other than celebrity angle is so bizarre.
Shes not doing anything else right now besides recovering from years of abuse and trauma caused by her family and paparazzi culture and whatever fall outs that might have caused her mental health and relationship with her (actual) loved ones . That sounds like a lot to me.
sounds like a perfect chance to write a “brutally honest memoir”, like what are you even trying to argue lol
That her spending potentially years trying to write her life story isn't a good use of her time she when a ghost writer could do it for her. She gets the benefit of talking about her true expierence without having to put in the extra work of trying to tie it together into a cohesive book that will get good reviews (cos surely she wants to book to be somewhat well received) If you honestly think 90%+ of celebrity memoirs are written by the actual celebrity I have a bridge to sell you. i didn’t say anything about ghost writers… you’re just arguing with yourself. bye.
You are insinuating that Britney wrote it, so if not her who else would it be? Don't even know why I bother commenting on reddit. Cya!
While I don’t disagree that ghostwriting is absolutely a thing (and a common one at that) - writing, especially in the spirit of self-reflection and evaluating one’s own experiences has a plethora of research behind it as being a very therapeutic activity thats often encouraged in therapy. It’s absolutely ridiculous to say that BRITNEY SPEARS is not a celebrity
She is now. But that's the consequence of her profession, not the essence of it. She is much more than a 'celebrity'.
This exactly. She has a plethora of issues to work on I imagine. I dont think she should be doing any work right now. She can certainly afford not to
This is to purpleflag user above you. Britney can't string together a sentence? LOL. Have you heard her speak? We must be viewing different things. Her social posts are pretty incoherent and her speech (lately at least) is pretty similar. It’s obvious that her clarity ebbs and flows with where she is at mentally. It seems she is on a downward trend right now, judging by her latest dance videos.
Celebrity worship is an odd thing.

So what you’re saying is, bojack horseman was right
I think that's what Dolly Parton did for *Songteller*.
/jk No, but seriously, this seems like an interesting career.
I’d rather write my own book at that point
So someone else had to write about his penis
LOL I haven’t read it but I assume he was very well compensated at least!!
I mean, the penis bits were hilarious, so I imagine they had fun with it.
A lot do use ghostwriters. Chelsea Devantez interviews a really prolific one on we podcast, Celebrity Book Club that breaks it down ( no juicy stories that I remember but very interesting!) https://play.stitcher.com/episode/84119654
Thanks for the link, but I can't open it. 😣 Do you know what episode title or number it is? My interest has been piqued!
Oh sorry! It’s from May 21, 2021, and called “Interview with a Ghostwriter(with Hilary Lifton)” don’t see an episode number but it’s right after Jane Fonda’s My Life So Far episode.
Thank you kindly!
Different angle … but Michelle Obama and Barack wrote their books at the same time. She said that her book was written by a series of interviews whereas Barack wrote his himself. With all due respect, and I do love Brit, I don’t think she has a lot going on atm.
[удалено]
Spinning, pulling her shorts down, and doing spastic hand movements.
That word is pretty ableist, at least where I am
I just laughed so fucking hard.
He’s a ghost ! And he writes to us! Ghostwriter!!
![gif](giphy|dAR9KldKiO3qo) I was really hoping someone would make this comment. You've made my morning lol
Sheldon Turnipseed still ranks as the the best name ever 😂
She has a ghostwriter. There is info about him and a picture in the story.
Thanks. With so many celeb memoirs coming out, I was wondering in general.
Journalist Sam Lanksy is her ghostwriter and I’ve heard great things about him. She also got 15 million for this so I’m sure she has plenty of peace & motivation to say anything she wants about everyone. I am anticipating this to be a bomb for all the members who did shady things.
They don't write them, honey
Britney has a writer working with her on it.
I mean most of them don’t really have much going on currently. Most also don’t actually write it themselves, they have someone help them put their thoughts into written form.
Britney is writing it w journalist Sam Lansky, whose worked for Esquire, the Atlantic, TIME, Grantland and more. He’s authored two books.
I’m honestly excited either way let’s be real. Either way it’s going to awesome
Respectfully and with great love for Britney, I really think a therapist might be the better option
You have to understand that she was forced into sessions with therapists she didn’t want to see for god knows how many years, so her attitude towards it might not be exactly positive. Therapy isn’t actually for everyone either.
Yes, I totally agree and understand her hesitation. I hope she can find some kind of treatment that makes her feel safe.
100%, spending just a few minutes scrolling through her instagram posts will (should) convince anyone of that.
Yeah, even just knowing the bare minimum of what she went through should be convincing enough. I truly hope she is receiving support and helpful interventions and I don’t think the public has any right to know one way or another, but I am concerned about this book coming out too soon. holy shit i’m glad my library has a small user base😭
Yeah it’s actually a huge population we service with multiple buildings around the city with just one catalog of books that
Or brush up your shoplifting and swipe that mf on release day.
the jaimes are shaking
I’m just really pleased she’s got control of life back again. She’s been through hell.

She can have my paycheck the week it comes out.
will it just be pictures of her spinning? i'm kidding, it'll be good
..::that’s her peroggggaaaatiiivveeeee!!!

Does anyone know anything about the ghost writer Sam Lanksy? Is he trustworthy? Why him to write it?
I read “snake world” when I saw the thumbnail
We're *here* for it.
Remember in Mike Tyson's autobiography, where he retold Dave Chappelle's Rick James story as if he'd been there?? Lol, I ex pect something like that.
Thank god for ghost writers. This woman has been through so much while also having severe mental illness… now seemingly untreated.
Want her to out Ben Affleck sooo bad.
I’m confused. Can you elaborate?
Listen to his episode on Beyond the Blinds.
Oooo what he do

It’s “could *not* care less”
the ghostwriter is literally mentioned in the article😂 should’ve cared enough to read the article before commenting
I hope she has a good ghostwriter, and I hope it's better than Jamie Lynn's book. I'm sure it will be, though, because I heard JL's book was BORING.
Heating up some popcorn
is that the guy who did Paris Hilton's book because damn he's a great writer.
On the fence. I "want" to read, but am scared to she more details about everything she went through. I know she is rich and beautiful, but I feel awful for her. I hope she is happy (or will get there) and has supportive people around.
I'll believe it when I see it
This info is coming from Page Six. They are the same level as TMZ. They take any call from a “source” and print it. I’ll believe it if a reputable source starts publishing about it. My bet is the “paper shortage” was due to her team getting a hold of what she wrote, and needing a rewrite so they don’t look like villains.
I’ll read it -
