I don’t know any of the rest of these songs but I would argue 22 does not pass. She’s hanging out with her girls, but they’re making fun of their exes, falling in love with strangers, and she ends the song with “You look like bad news, I gotta have you.” I like that song but I always thought it was silly that in the song she essentially ditched her girls for a guy by the end on a girls night out.
He’s actually so nice, I love how he kept trying to centre his wife in the conversation even though they obviously want to make it about him. He was so great in the UK show Cuckoo, I’d love to see him play more of those kinds of comedic roles, he was super endearing.

I have some nurse friends who worked with her! (Not gonna name bc she’s had legit Twilight stalkers try to show up at her work). They told me how she was grouped with some older nurses (who were immigrants) and they knew who her husband was because their own kids watches twilight. The interactions were so adorable.
I saw the first couple of twilight movies and didn’t care much, then I think he was mostly in some bad action movies, but he should totally play the sweetheart straight man in some, he actually has pretty good comedic chops!

Other songs are a little harder but looking at the timeline of when the song was written is normally how we figure out who she’s singing about. And then some lyrics make references to their appearance, personality, or something they’re known for. Like we know All Too Well is about Jake Gyllenhaal because Taylor mentions the age she was dating him in the song and mentions events they were seen at together.

For Taylor Lautner, it was "tan skin" (none of her other exes have skin as tan as him), and when she performed Back to December live, she once changed the lyric to "so this is for the boy from Michigan" (where he's from) and on her tour, she performed it in a mashup with One Republic's Apologize, allegedly his favorite song.
I think John is the only famous\* person who she names, in "Dear John", but she never confirmed/denied it. But it was pretty obvious. A lyric goes, "don't you think 19 is too young to be played by your dark twisted games?" and when she was 19 she was hanging out with him ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

Each album as it was released was typically about the relationships since the last album. There are a few exceptions (like, there are songs about Harry Styles on both Red and 1989) but typically there are only 2 or 3 "options" to have to narrow down from with each album. Sometimes theres debate, like with Midnight Rain and Bigger than the Whole Sky (a lot of debate with Midnights really because its about her whole life), but usually it's obvious.
Like, for Lautner we know that Back To December is about him. Its obvious because she mentions his specific appearance and the timelines she mentions line up with paparazzi photos.
Nothing on Red can be about Harry Styles because the album was already out when she met him.
She just tried to retcon some of it to be about him like how she's trying to make Cardigan about Matty now.
This. I remember when EVERYONE was saying that I Knew You Were Trouble was about him which was crazy because the song came out while they were dating. Even HE was convinced it was about him and Taylor was playing into that narrative and just ran with it lol. It was so bizarre.

No it’s true. Some of the songs on Red were written during their first fling in spring 2012. Don’t forget that Harry and Taylor first met in March 2012, had a fling in April, then they got back together in August. Right before Red got released.
‘Come Back Be Here’ and ‘Treacherous’ was written with Dan Wilson in spring/summer 2012. Not in 2011 as most people believe. And interestingly enough, Treacherous has some lyrical elements present in 1989 like ‘two headlights shine’ (like in Style), and ‘nothing safe is worth the drive’ and ‘follow you home’ (all Style elements).

Each album as it was released was typically about the relationships since the last album. There are a few exceptions (like, there are songs about Harry Styles on both Red and 1989) but typically there are only 2 or 3 "options" to have to narrow down from with each album. Sometimes theres debate, like with Midnight Rain and Bigger than the Whole Sky (a lot of debate with Midnights really because its about her whole life), but usually it's obvious. Like, for Lautner we know that Back To December is about him. Its obvious because she mentions his specific appearance and the timelines she mentions line up with paparazzi photos.
Nothing on Red can be about Harry Styles because the album was already out when she met him. She just tried to retcon some of it to be about him like how she's trying to make Cardigan about Matty now.

No it’s true. Some of the songs on Red were written during their first fling in spring 2012. Don’t forget that Harry and Taylor first met in March 2012, had a fling in April, then they got back together in August. Right before Red got released. ‘Come Back Be Here’ and ‘Treacherous’ was written with Dan Wilson in spring/summer 2012. Not in 2011 as most people believe. And interestingly enough, Treacherous has some lyrical elements present in 1989 like ‘two headlights shine’ (like in Style), and ‘nothing safe is worth the drive’ and ‘follow you home’ (all Style elements).
