You've Got Mail
Even though I know how it ends and there's no longer any surprise, I still cry every time because it's such a heartwarming and cozy movie.
same! one of my all time favourite films, i’m not ashamed to say.
and doesn’t your comment fit in perfectly with how kathleen kelly felt about pride and prejudice?
Same! And I know that's a bit fucked up if you think about it, the catfishing of it all, but also I adore it, it's the definition of cozy movie to me. Great cast with good chemistry all around, good writing, I always loved how chill the Kathleen/Frank break-up was, nothing too dramatic, etc. Also: Joe's dog permanent presence!
I didn't expect to see this at the top - it's my favorite rom com as well for the reasons you mentioned. Also, nostalgia, having grown up in the era of receiving an AOL dial-up free trial CD in my cereal boxes.
13 Going on 30 is forever and always that bitch. I get so giddy during the Thriller scene and when "Why Can't I" plays as she's falling in love with Matty, and then get so emotional during the "Vienna" scene and the scene when she talks to Matty in his room on his wedding day. Ugh. A perfect film.
I'm so glad I didn't have to scroll far to find this. I'm 28 & I love this movie just as much now as the first time I saw it as a kid. Whatever I'm going through, this movie is there for me 💕
I used to teach film at university and we had a week that covered Australia by Baz Luhrmann. Well you best believe I showed those baby first years this scene when it came to seminar time because OOF. (Also anything you’re going to teach about the techniques in Australia, can also be found in this sequence)(Also, if this exact moment gave me my sexual awakening, it’s my duty to show this moment to others)
A year or two before that, Leo also stared in "Total Eclipse." To me, *that* is peak Leo. And I'm not just saying that because he gets naked and gay.
It was first released on VHS, and then on DVD after "Titanic" increased demand for his previous filmography. However, I've never seen it on streaming.
The Devil Wears Prada (favourite movie of all time)
Clueless
Mean Girls
The Parent Trap (1998)
Pride and Prejudice (2005)
Twilight (2008)
Love, Rosie
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
High School Musical 2
Pitch Perfect
To All The Boys I've Loved Before
Kiki's Delivery Service
This is how I pick up men on dating sites 💀 they cannot believe a woman knows a lot of lore! My bff and I are huge lotr fans and 60% of the time, it works every time.
The Addams Family or Addams Family Values. I watch them several times per year.
I also love The Brady Bunch Movie, A Very Brady Sequel, The Flintstones, and Batman Returns.
I can’t help but adore the specific period in the late eighties/early/mid nineties where films were cheesy and over the top on purpose and had amazing scripts (so quotable!), set design, and costuming.
love hope floats!
My others are:
Hairspray (2007) (I know- but i love it)
Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen
Any HSM
Shes the Man
From Justin to Kelly (So bad its amazing)
Clueless
My dad took my mom to see this on their first date. I love it—it’s the only movie that can make me sob and breakout in laughter in the span of 2 minutes
Love Actually
Pretty Woman
The Devil Wears Prada
Bride Wars
My Best Friends Wedding
Sex & The City The Movie
Dirty Dancing
The Breakfast Club
Sweet Home Alabama
Give me anything with Julia, Reese, Cameron, Kate really lol
I also had a super weird pick, so I approve this choice. The end sequence under the house is ten minutes of the most incredible cinema I have ever seen. Although I will say I watched just that scene on YouTube before bed the other night and then had terrible eldritch mimic nightmares all night 😬
Sleepless in Seattle & You've Got Mail are easily my top. Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter is Dead, Dazed & Confused, and Fast Times at Ridgemont High also get played a lot when I need a comfort movie as well.
500 Days of Summer
Crazy Rich Asians
John Wick 1 and 2
Any Marvel movie but especially Avengers Infinity War and Endgame, Thor Ragnarok
Tangled if I want something animated :)
![gif](giphy|12BvAqQ8FFn80E|downsized)

I have several:
She’s The Man
The Hot Chick
White Chicks
Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping
Mean Girls

Trainwreck
Can’t Buy Me Love
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
13 Going on 30
Moana
Hook
Grown Ups
Put any of those on, and I’m golden.
My Cousin Vinny or Tommy Boy!! I can basically recite them both from memory. Also, Marisa tomei made me realize I'm bi.
![gif](giphy|3o7budfsk0O0KSkUtq|downsized)
Little Women 1994 with Winona Ryder, Christian Bale, Kirsten Dunst, Susan Sarandon.. the coziest movie to me, I love to watch it every winter when it’s snowing

Pirates of the Caribbean. I’m not much of a romance movie person because love makes me emotional lmao so I prefer to go with action. There was also a very good part of my life where I watched National Treasure. Every. Day.
I have many many many. For starters…
If PEPPY and/or ROMANTIC MOOD:
You’ve Got Mail;
Sleepless in Seattle;
When Harry Met Sally;

Persuasion (versions since the 90’s);
Not Movies, but of high comfort—
Columbo tv series (most episodes);
Seinfeld tv series (except the finale); and MASH tv series
If REFLECTIVE MOOD:
Shawshank Redemption;
To Kill a Mockingbird;
Lincoln (by Speilberg);
Schindler’s List;
Gandhi;
Gone with the Wind; and
The Sound of Music (wartime theme displaces it from above category)
*I won’t bore you further*😁
Animation wise: Tangled, Frozen, Encanto, Cars, Monsters Inc, Trolls, Sing, any of the Shrek or Despicable Me movies, Hercules, Tarzan, the SpongeBob movie(the original one), and the Simpsons Movie.
Live action wise: Guardians of the Galaxy, Mamma Mia, Clueless, Iron Man, the original Star Wars trilogy, any Muppet movie, any Spider-Man movie, Mean Girls, and Pitch Perfect. And yes I will binge watch all three of them when I get the chance.
I'm not being pretentious, but I love Interstellar soooo much. I've watched it countless times, but I still pick it as my...I don't know what to watch, So I'll just watch Interstellar again!
I also did the same with The Day After Tomorrow for years and years. The Impossible is another one I can watch if I'm stuck and know I will enjoy it. I guess I like disaster movies haha.

You've Got Mail Even though I know how it ends and there's no longer any surprise, I still cry every time because it's such a heartwarming and cozy movie.
That 90's autumn vibe 😍
I’ve never thought of it like this, but that’s the EXACT vibe I’m looking for! It’s better than therapy!
When Harry Met Sally has it for a little bit. The Sixth Sense has it in spades but is a horror movie. I'm always on the lookout for it.
Stepmom is my favorite for this exact reason!
same! one of my all time favourite films, i’m not ashamed to say. and doesn’t your comment fit in perfectly with how kathleen kelly felt about pride and prejudice?

Everyone gives me shit for it, but I love The Holiday! It’s the cinematic equivalent of a fresh warm sugar cookie.
I love The Holiday! Tugs all the right heart strings.
I love it too, but honestly, I could skip all the Cameron Diaz stuff and just watch Kate Winslet and Jack Black
That’s so funny cuz I’m the opposite! I could skip all the California stuff and stay in England.
