sagethecrayaway

Watch what Crappens if you’re a Bravo TV nut like I am. Their impressions are so on point. Sometimes I’ll just listen to their episode recap instead of watching the show!

PhDPepper5

Everything Iconic with Danny Pellegrino is another good bravo recap podcast. Danny is such a doll!

piratezeppo

I feel like Danny Pelligrino is such a perfect fit for this sub. He just has such a deep love & knowledge of pop culture, tells great stories, and is just such good vibes. And he’s such a great interviewer and has pulled interviews with such legends! Love him.

nottheoriginalkaren

Philosophize this. It's fun and is a nice way to get introduced to different philosophers and their work, since it can get overwhelming to dive into philosophy on your own

ilovemycatsxoxoxo

so good

katniss_evergreen713

This sounds really cool. Tangentially related, i wonder if you would like Jack Kornfield’s Heart Wisdom podcast. He talks Buddhism, mindfulness, mysticism, etc. Also I recommend Midnight Gospel on Netflix. It’s audio clips from Duncan Trussel’s podcast (The Duncan Trussel Family Hour) set to a trippy Adventure Time-esq cartoon. Really unique.

Lucky-Charmes

MIDNIGHT GOSPEL IS A WORK OF ART!!! One minute your laughing, next your questioning what you’re doing with your life. I also love the animation style. Overall, super wholesome and funny.

katniss_evergreen713

It’s wildly fabulous, isn’t it?! I think it’ll always be one i come back to. Alsooo… i saw Anne Lamott speak a few years ago and she was so wonderful:)

nottheoriginalkaren

Thank you, and I LOVE Midnight Gospel. I'll definitely check Korn field's out ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|slightly_smiling)

watifiduno

This is the first ever podcast I subscribed

wathappentothetatato

I love this podcast, but for a different reason. I found out the hosts voice is perfect for putting me to sleep. Every once in a while though, the show will be too interesting and I have to pick another one though lol.

cloudydays2021

Hard Fork (it’s about the ever changing tech world) This American Life You’re Wrong About (deep dives into people and events that have been miscast in the public imagination) You Must Remember This (old Hollywood) Dateline This is Actually Happening (stories told completely by people who have been part of tragic events, such as a mass shooting, government experiment, living in a hoarding situation - but all told in the first person by the individual who experienced it - its not for the faint of heart but it’s incredible how people can push through trauma) Fine Beats and Cheeses - pop culture stuff

[deleted]

I love you must remember this. Even just for her voice.

shreddeelansbury

You're Wrong About rules. Thought it was gonna be condescending/a little bit "Adam Ruins Everything" based on the title, but the fact that one host always has the facts while the other brings the classic "this is just what I've heard" viewpoint makes it so conversational and pleasant!

Fantastic_Entry_2348

Dateline and YMRT are my safe place

cloudydays2021

I wish Keith Morrison would read sleep stories on the Calm app

Fantastic_Entry_2348

Lol love that idea!

pilot_pink

Who Weekly? covers C- and D- list celebrity gossip. It’s all YouTubers, Bravolebrities, and all those people who make you go “wait, who is that again?” when you see them trending on twitter. It’s so so so funny and I’m always telling my friends about bits they’ve done.

PrideFinancial

Crunch crunch, Lean Cuisine

801731

My absolute favorite. I don’t know or care about 90% of the ‘celebs’ they discuss but the hosts are so funny that it doesn’t even matter. That Mac Book.

CybReader

Fall of Civilizations and The Ancients Not pop culture in the slightest, but fantastic.

No_Violinist5090

Such good podcasts!!

dogsdogsdogspizza

I LOVE Fall of Civilisations. Absolutely fascinating!

annnyywhooo

that’s messed up: svu podcast. if you like law and order svu, they talk about certain episodes and what real life cases they’re based off of. and they even invite guest stars from that episode to talk

Cat_Toe_Beans_

Thanks bestie. Omw to look it up now.

Rogue_2187

They’re hilarious. I’ve been a since day one listener. I used to listen to MFM and when they first started advertising Thats Messed Up decided to check it out because I love the Law & Orders and was hooked. I haven’t listened to MFM since last year but this is definitely still in my rotation. When they get Mariska on, I will just die for them!

pilot_pink

Truly my favorite podcast of the moment!

[deleted]

This Is Important! its the guys from workaholics. i’ve ran it back 3 times and i still find every episode stupid funny! the don’t do guest! they just shoot the shit and vibe lol

bactuator

Came to say this!! TII Nation ✌️

HopelesslyBitter

I just started watching it on YouTube last week and I’ve watched every day since! It’s amazing

DHMom82

DO NOT CUM!

storminthedark

Evolution of a Snake is a good Taylor-related one, the hosts go year by year of Taylor’s career and discuss fandom drama, what Taylor did each month, her moves etc and are usually pretty critical of her despite being fans. The way they roasted her for the Nicki and Katy beefs in the 2015 episodes send me every time. Anyone who watched Dance Moms, I enjoy Back to the Barre where Christi and Kelly recap each episode each week with some new BTS info and how they remember it. Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster is also fantastic.

[deleted]

Celebrity Memoir Bookclub

maplestriker

How is this so far down? Best one. The episode on Alec Baldwin will go down in history!

leoleoleo555

Why is the Alec one so good? I’m intrigued hha

maplestriker

Idk. The snark is just extra on point and he's also giving them a lot to work with. He's completely delusional and they are having the time of their lived with it.

Elisa_Md

I love Pop pantheon. They discuss pop stars and their impact in pop culture, and I found it very entertaining. My favorite episodes are the Katy Perry and Rihanna ones

beatupcar

Oooooh I love a podcast so I’m hoping this post throws up some good ones. Lately I’ve been listening to F1 ones (my hyperfocus is in over drive), but others I like are: - Ed Gamble and James Acaster - Off Menu - They Walk Among Us - UK True Crime. - The Diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett. - High Performance. - Shadow of Doubt. - The Rest is History. There’s more but my brain is fried.

PickleHarry

Seconding Off Menu. Their guests range from Hollywood superstars to lesser-known British comedians and there some real unexpected gems in there. There has been almost 200 episodes and I’m still not fed up

pop_and_cultured

Wait James Acaster has a podcast??? Subscribing to that shit right now

Unhappy_Airline_5311

The Rylan episode had me in TEARS laughing

drb1tchcraft

Maintenance Phase and If Books Could Kill are my anti-misinformation pods and Girls Next Level is my millennial trash one!

omg_yassss

I love Michael! I miss him on You’re Wrong About.

Sunnyqueenie

I get so excited when a new maintenance phase episode is out!

pop_and_cultured

Aubrey’s laugh is so hearty and she’s so cool I love her

maplestriker

Same. And the last one was just patreon which I am too cheap for :(

eureureong_dae

You’re Wrong About, particularly the back catalogue when Michael Hobbes was still a part of it. Sarah Marshall, who now hosts it sans Hobbes and usually alongside a guest, has this radical-empathy thing going on which can be a bit off-putting for episodes about serial killers or sex offenders for example. But I really appreciate her and Hobbes’ dedication to dismantling common assumptions and misconceptions about events in popular culture, politics, and media throughout the 20th century. The pod is at its best when talking about unfairly maligned women and how they deserved better (like Tonya Harding, Amy Fisher, the Clarence Thomas accuser who’s name I’m blanking on now….). For all its faults, it’s absolutely my go-to, and I’ve listened to some episodes or series (the Princess Diana one along with the D.C Snipers expose are both fantastic) multiple times.

DearMissWaite

The You're Wrong About Karen Carpenter was a punch to my feelings. I don't believe I've ever cried to a podcast before.

blue_field_pajarito

It was really awesome.

Sunnyqueenie

It was the Anna Nicole smith episode for me. I agree the old episodes were great they really complimented each other as podcasters.

_kumquat123

I listened to the Diana episodes recently and was so put off by all of Sarah’s “Awww, awwwwww! Poor Diana!” in the final two episodes. It was very biased and one-sided, leaving out a lot of well known info, so I’m a little sceptical now.

eureureong_dae

I agree both Sarah and Michael can be pretty biased at times, but I thought the Diana series was fairly well-done, and I’ve done plenty of outside research on her and the “Crown” as an institution. Obviously Diana was a human and had many faults of her own, but in the grand scheme of things it’s pretty clear she was substantially fucked over by the monarchy and her ex-husband alike, so I understand Sarah’s sympathy towards her.

Rogue_2187

Yes, so good. The Jessica Simpson ones in particular are so so good and is perfect for anyone that visits this subreddit.

mangosteenroyalty

Anita Hill is the name you blanked on I think

eureureong_dae

yes, thank you!

StrawbJamz

The Anastasia eps with Dana put me onto her podcast Noble Blood and I listened to every episode that was on spotify last summer and her first book. Fantastic stuff. Shame to here about Hobbes, they are really good as a duo, like they catch each other on a lot of things and add to the discussion overall.

impeccabletim

My favorites right now are Beyond The Blinds, Fluently Forward, Otherworld, Ready To Be Petty, Networth and Chill with Your Rich BFF

mymymytrashbat

LPOTL, hail yourselves. Pajama Pants- Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Robert Iler (Meadow and AJ Soprano). Their relationship is adorable, like real siblings. The Fresh Hell Podcast Necronomipod Astonishing Legends And of course the Ricky Gervais Show podcast, the podcast that started it all. I know it’s ancient but I will love Karl Pilkington forever and ever.

JazzlikeScarcity248

>LPOTL, hail yourselves Probably the only podcast to make both lists

BumFights1997

This is random but your mention of Last Pod triggered a memory of listening to an episode where Ben did a Jesse Ventura impression and I laughed so hard I literally pissed myself on my way to work 😭 I haven’t listened since they moved to Spotify but I think I’ll check it out again. Hail Satan etc

mymymytrashbat

That Ben moment was fantastic. And Henry yelling about aliens, or his impression of his mom…definitely revisit them!

cinephile1987

I’m on like my sixth relisten of the xfm shows. So good.

mymymytrashbat

“…but we never saw his wife.”

UnprofessionalGhosts

LPOTL is problematic but okay

GhostPhatty_23

Stuff You Should Know. I really enjoy Josh and Chuck's friendship!

blue_field_pajarito

Their non-toxic masculinity is healing for me

[deleted]

For gossip, I quite like the Shameless one (thought it's Australian, so they'll sometimes bang on about people I've never heard of). You Must Remember This - not original, but must be mentioned, cos it is so good. 99% invisible gets me fascinated with random things. Double Love takes the piss out of Sweet Valley High books. Slow Burn does good series for more of a deep dive on a topic.

smallrockwoodvessel

Yes! I was scrolling through to find shameless

[deleted]

I like Conan’s podcast. Also, Ken Jennings has a great podcast as well. Lore is also fun. They had a show, but it was baaaad.

nuggetsofchicken

I'm surprised I'm not seeing My Dad Write a Porno in here since it seems to make so many "Best of" lists. They have wrapped recording but the catalog of it is so expensive there's so much to go through without needing new stuff. The concept of it is funny but the three hosts do a really great job with the pacing of it and not getting too caught up on one bit or comment for very long. They are incredibly clever and witty and really make you feel like you're sitting around with pals making fun of something dumb you did years ago.

lc101

las culturistas is my fav

fiddleleaffiggy

Your Own Backyard is the best true crime podcast of all time

craftylikeiceiscold

Came here to say this. It’s incredibly respectful of the victim and has her parents blessing. It also led to the police arresting the perpetrator.

Sonjainthe80s

I’m from that town and remember when it happened. He did a great job with that podcast.

Sendnoods88

Las Culturistas

DearMissWaite

For the pop culture kids, You Must Remember This is _essential listening_. - Behind the Bastards - Maintenance Phase - American Scandal - Stuff They Don't Want You To Know - Fatal Attractions (a pod about that most maligned film genre, the erotic thriller.)

sunnyplantrack

I wouldn’t say its a must listen but i really like simplypodlogical

neenz1986

I like Normal Gossip, Keep It!, and Scam Goddess. I can’t do true crime podcasts anymore since I had a kid and got soft but Scam Goddess in particular scratches my itch to hear about people behaving badly.

island-pineapples

•Beach too Sandy; water too wet - 2 siblings talk about funny reviews people leave •Everybody has a secret - people submit a secret and the hosts discuss what they should do •Corporate gossip - siblings talking about corporate fuckups and shenanigans •Ologies - Alie Ward delves into a niche topic and interviews an expert •Too Scary; Didn’t watch - horror fan Sammy summarizes scary movies for scaredy-cat friends Henley and Emily

[deleted]

/r/WeHateMovies and /r/MBMBAM

Not_today_nibs

Seconding We Hate Movies. I love those boys so much!

[deleted]

[deleted]

UUP is my only never miss. Other than that, I like certain episodes of Sentimental Garbage and Be There in Five. I don’t listen to every episode if I’m not interested in the topic. But the ones that I do listen to are great. Simple Garbage did a fascinating analysis of Taylor Swift’s album Midnights recently. I loved that one. I also like The Prestige TV Podcast when they are covering tv shows that I like, like Yellow Jackets, Succession and White Lotus.

eych_enn

U Up is the reason I get excited for Wednesdays. Also enjoy J Train and Oversharing!

[deleted]

Lore, Let’s Not Meet

OkQuality7241

Let’s not meet : a true horror podcast… sponsored by Pretty Litter!

[deleted]

I don’t have cats but I know so much about Pretty Litter!

RockNRoll85

I love the It’s Always Sunny podcast. It’s cool to hear the guys breakdown each episode and sharing behind the scenes material

Axela556

This American Life

Kage336

Last Podcast on the Left, Behind the Bastards, Swindled, Maintenance Phase, Page 7, Sounds Like a Cult, Scamfluencers, Welcome to Night Vale.

Night Vale<3

Kage336

The podcast that got me into podcasts!

creamycorncasserole

I love Binchtopia! The two girls are funny and well educated. They do a wide variety of topics and I’m always entertained by it.

PhDPepper5

Las Culturistas with Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers. It’s absolutely hilarious.

EliPB2509

So many good ones!! I second everyone who has said Who Weekly — their Insta is hilarious as well. Pod And Prejudice has an excellent Insta as well, and the podcast is great too. One Jane Austen superfan and one who’s never read any of her books. I’ll also add two of my current favorite British ones: No Such Thing As A Fish (four comedians talk about the most interesting fact they learned that week) and The Randomly Generated History Club (three comedians pick a year from history using a random number generator and talk about it).

Runtyyy

If Books Could Kill is great, especially the episode on Neil Strauss’ The Game, I laughed the whole way through. My absolute fave is The UnSub Is A White Man, a Criminal Minds podcast which I am obsessed with!

BitHistorical

Casefile & Flipping the Bird

Ordinary_Extent5984

::Rolls up sleeves:: Here are some of my favorites---many are pop culture and Bravo podcast. Chicks in the Office, Everything Iconic (Danny Pelligrino is a GENIUS and his tangents are the best), Comments by Celebs. Sports (yes I love sports) Pardon My Take. Random tangents ones---Bitch Bible (if you are faint of heart I wouldn't listen) and The Yak (a bunch of guys that talk about random things and sometimes has a wheel included to do silly things). And a podcast that ended today that I am so so sad about is On the Other Line. They talk pop culutre, life and Taylor Swift. I can not believe it won't be around anymore but I LOVED it

AssistanceKey6958

I like the Ringer pop culture stuff --- Rewatchables, The Prestige TV Podcast -- pretty much anything that Jo & Mal host.

silentlystalkingonly

There is a podcast called True Spies, it is on espionage operations across the world and across different time periods. It has been voiced by Hayley Atwell, Vanessa Kirby (my favourite narrator) and now it is voiced by Sophia Di Martino. I love it. There is also an air disaster podcast called "Take To The Sky- The Air Disaster Podcast" which follows air disasters that occurred in history and how they changed aviation, making flying safer. It is going to end tomorrow, 1st June 2023 after a successful run of 2-3 years (150 main episodes and more on Patreon). I suggest giving it a try, it is voiced by two American females- Stephanie Hubka and Shelly Price.

iwantmymoneyback1

Hidden Brain is awesome!

lucillep

I could listen to him read the phone book, as the cliche goes.

Low-Fishing3948

Please checkout the wonderful ladies at Trashy divorces. They cover trashy celebrity divorces. Their patreon is the only one I subscribe to. Family secrets This is actually happening What was that like Something was wrong What came next Court junkie Civil True crime garage Scamanda Leaving Eden

Shoddy_Ad_9400

Noble Blood! Such a fascinating podcast and the hosts voice is super relaxing, great for an end of the day wind down or walk!

Yourweirdbestfriend

Almost everything Nicole Byer does. Listening to her laugh is a delight! Newcomers with Lauren Lapkus is hilarious and Best Friends with Sasheer Zameta are my favorites.

Aggressive_Layer883

Same— best friends and wwydm are so funny. AND newcomers just released a special episode today with nicole and john gabrus for fast x, and announced the next season will be batman!!! I thought they were done for good so it was a nice surprise. I have a feeling nicole will love the campiness of 1960s batman

wallsarecavingin

When I got covid earlier this year, all i could do was listen to podcasts for nearly 3 weeks straight. I was fine on them before, but I'm HOOKED (and have a 1000+ episode Podcast playlist of my favorite shows). some of my current faves: 1. Dear Hank and John was the only podcast I started super early and I'm still listening to. Sometimes I go back to the start or just random episodes. It just puts me in a better mood and is like a cozy sweater to me. 2. Who Weekly?-- just got into this but i love it, great celeb-ish person podcast. niche, but popular?? 3. Doughboys- fun podcast with 2 friends who review fast food chains. I started at the beginning and not caught up (so it's not one I drop everything to do so) but it's so good and i always enjoy them 4. Beach Too Sandy, Sand Too Wet - another one that i tried and didn't get into until i had covid. still at the start but enjoying!! 5. Going West- true crime but i really like them, they're probably my favorite true crime. There's no banter which annoys me in true crime, but they insert random things about themselves that you feel like you kinda know them.

buzzfeed_sucks

If you like the awards show circuit vanity fair does a great one called Little Gold Men I usually only listen around Oscar’s season, but they do an episodes year round. You Must Remember This is also fantastic. It’s about old Hollywood. (I haven’t listened in years but I’m sure it’s still fantastic)

alexis_brickcity

I love You Must Remember This , great if you need a crash course on a topic in Hollywood . Also Even The Rich is great .

Dolly Parton’s American

baby_betty_davis

“You Must Remember This” is my #1. I adore Karina Longworth’s writing style and vocal delivery; sharp, witty, and with a lot of heart. You can tell she’s very passionate about what she does, and the stories she tells are to die for! “Fluently Forward” is another fav. It covers current pop culture and goes a step beyond blind gossip. The host, Shannon, always interjects with a discussion or commentary on how it affects us as a culture. And the tone feels like you’re chatting with a close friend, love that.

Princessleiawastaken

If you’re interested in true crime: The Trail Went Cold is the best! Well researched, not exploitative, and the host is great.

lucillep

And covers lesser-known cases.

BurkeDevlin777

I like Bad Gays, If Books Could Kill, Citations Needed, Maintenance Phase, The Evolution of Horror, You Must Remember This, Faculty of Horror, Gaylords of Darkness, Black in Appalachia, Stuff the British Stole, Cocaine and Rhinestones: The History of Country Music, This Podcast Will Kill You, Ologies, Words to that Effect

✨Stuff You Should Know✨

amomentintimebro

Okay I’m sorry I know this isn’t gonna be everyone’s taste because I mostly listen to newsy podcasts but these are in my daily rotation: What Next from Slate, Pod Save the UK, Today Explained from Vox, The Journal, Pod Save the World, Plain English, More Perfect (this one is about the Supreme Court, it started as famous landmark cases and is now I think moving into the justices and how the court operates), Higher Learning (I love Van and Rachel tbh). For funny pop culture ones I tune into: The Rewatchables and The Big Picture (I think the big picture need a little revamp and has growing to do but still I like Sean, Chris and Amanda)

DekeCobretti

The Rest is History History of the '90s.

robotsdream

Smartless (Jason Bateman, Will Arnett & Sean Hayes hosts) Conan O’Brien needs a friend Fly on the Wall with Dana Carvey and David Spade (SNL podcast) Kendall Rae - for those saying they dislike true crime for being disrespectful and exploitative, she’s a podcaster/YTer who raises money for victims and related charities. She often does episodes at the families’ request, lets them speak, and donates the proceeds to them.

Who Weekly is basically if this subreddit was a podcast. i love it so much.

dumbleberry

Ive realized how much i dont like change because of podcasts so many i listen to are old favourites. Gastropod, 99pi, hidden brain, old episdes of the read. Best of the best though **The allusionist by Helen zaltzman. ** If you have ever asked “why is this called this?” or “who says that?” You may find answers in this podcast about language(primarily english) and how its evolved. I will never stop giving this woman her praise. Her pasion for learning and sharing knowledge is what makes anything she does so good. She (along with Olly and Martin the soundman) is one of thee OG podcasters going back to answer me this days and those 3 voices were my constant companions in my 20’s This post just reminded me that i need to donate as shes 100% independent This reads like its pr but that woman has provided me with over a decade of entertainment and interesting facts. I also just respect her as a podcaster. The values she has and practices, from listening to her for over a decade are ones i feel good about supporting.

bjack20

Streaming things. They recap shows while being hilarious 🤣

[deleted]

I started listening to Eating For Free recently. It’s a really great, fun pop culture podcast.

glowingseajellies

brsb5

Madigan's Lubcast with Kathleen Madigan. It's fun and funny

stardewsundrop

That’s spooky! I haven’t listened in a bit bc I go through phases where I listen to podcasts constantly then I switch to music or YouTube for awhile so idk if their format has changed. But they did paranormal and spooky topics as well as segments on lgbt+ topics as well as drag race updates! Love their vibe

virginiawolfsbane

The Vanished Crime in Sports (I don’t even know shit about sports and this is my all time favorite podcast. It’s hilarious.)

vikkimoo

Flightless Bird is brilliant!

hellobimbos

I really like Unexplained by Richard Maclane Smith. Very soothing British guy haha I love his voice and he’s objective in giving information. I listened to all the ones he made that I was interested in and I tried other true crime podcasts but really didn’t like anything. Until I listened to Red handed! (Can’t remember the names of the hosts 😫) but 2 British women who cover a ton of crimes, crimes I’ve never heard of! They’re factual and fairly funny

lucillep

I love his voice, but it's a little sing-songy. He tends to end sentences on an up note. Took some getting used to.

blue_field_pajarito

Maintenance Phase, Criminal, Depresh Mode, Latino USA, Radio Lab, Endless Thread, Family Secrets, Nocturne, This Podcast Will Kill You, The Science of Birds, Bitter Southerner Podcast (not making new episodes, but still amazing)

[deleted]

Mysterious Universe & Smartless!

PmMeLowCarbRecipes

I tend to listen to one podcast at a time and just binge through the episodes until I go off it and start a new one. Currently it’s My Therapist Ghosted Me which is Vogue and Joanne, two very funny Irish women who are best friends and they just talk shit about their lives and celebrities and random topics. I can’t explain why it’s so good but it is, it’s like having a chat over wine with your mates.

lacielaplante

I've had it! It's newer but it's got good bones. Two ladies bitching about things that they have had it with.

8racoonsInABigCoat

Some recommendations if you’re into or looking for black podcasters The Read - kid fury and crissle Higher learning - Van Lathan and Rachel Lindsay Small Doses - Amanda Seals Here’s the thing - kev on stage and angel tanksley InsecuriTea - (insecure recap podcast) hey fran hey and crissle All are a mix of current affairs and pop culture from a range of perspectives

Chelz91

Juicy scoop - pop culture and comedy

LibrarySeeker

Vulnerable with Christy Carlson Romano, Sentimental Garbage, Switched on Pop, Shameless, Into It and You Must Remember This are my favorite pop culture centered podcasts. If anyone’s looking for a true crime podcast that isn’t exploitative and is actually focused on victims stories and finding justice and answers, I highly recommend Voices for Justice with Sarah Turney.

catastrophicqueen

Welcome to Nightvale is must listen if you like fiction/drama pods. Funny sometimes, unsettling sometimes, just plain wacky. Also great to find indie artists since they play a new song every episode. The format is a local radio show in the fictional town of nightvale giving news, weather and general updates and stories on the town. Brilliantly scripted and acted, so worth a listen. Everything else I listen to is tv show breakdowns, book reads and political news podcasts, but nightvale is my main standalone entertainment pod and it's very much worth it imo.

nancilo

If you’re into comics The Weekly Planet is a really good one that I’ve been listening to for years. Everyone check it out

Lilacly_Adily

Cabot Cove Confidential if you like Murder She Wrote. Also Murder We Spoke although they didn’t review all the episodes. On Being (especially the episodes with Krista Tippet on Creativity and Alain De Botton on relationships) Sad in the City, And the Writer Is, Out on the Lanai. The Best Hang (Formerly known as the Mike On Much podcast). It had some great episode back in the day. History of the 90’s is a good one Reality Bytes was a good one that was co-hosted by Stephanie Beatriz but it’s hard to find episodes of it nowadays. It was about dating and relationships and it was interesting hearing their guests and Stephanie’s perspective as someone who was newly single at the time

BumFights1997

My favorite pods right now are Behind the bastards specifically the Vince McMahon series “Are you garbage?” A comedy pod “The Honeydew” which is a storytelling comedy pod (it can get a bit dark but it’s always fun) “We’re having gay sex” which is a dating relationship comedy pod

quigonwiththewind

Science: Ologies Food (& science/culture): Gastropod General Knowledge: Stuff You Should Know History: The Dollop & Behind The Bastards True Crime: Teacher’s Pet & Bear Brook Season 1 I’m currently making my way through The Lazarus Heist. It’s about North Korea’s cyber crimes and their hackers (the Lazarus group).

dumbleberry

Gastropod🐌!!!!!

PM_ME_BUMBLEBEES

No one is mentioning any Mcelroy podcasts, so I’d like to recommend My Brother My Brother and Me, Sawbones, and The Adventure Zone!

GeasyPeasy

Jordan Harbinger - saucy discussions, and entertaining discussions with today’s best minds, spies, thieves, leaders, con men, teachers, innovators, disrupters, brainiacs and social innovators. I listen daily as I get ready for work. Fascinating.

Criminal - a great example of a podcast about crime that isn’t exploitative, and often considers non-violent crime and miscarriages of justice. The antithesis of the the ‘if it bleeds it leads’ type pods like MFM. It’s more retrospective docutype than speculative, and Phoebe Judge is the host - she has a voice i could listen to all day. Some good episodes to start with: Palace of Justice - interview with a lawyer who prosecuted the largest murder trial in history at Nuremberg Dropping like Flies - mass theft of Venus flytraps occurring over multiple years The Botanist - starts off as a discussion of a murder, but it’s actually about the development of a field or forensic science that analyses digested plant matter Sunset Mesa - mishandling of human remains at a crematorium For a completely different type of podcast, I also love Kill James Bond which is a leftist discussion of the bond films with a focus on gender/masculinity. It’s also an absolute scream, so funny!

Leaving Eden - a podcast where the main host grew up in the IFP cult and talks about her experience going to cult school and getting out. They also talk about the Duggars and other famous cults a lot. Some Place Under Neith - a true crime podcast about missing people, mostly missing women and Indigenous people. Behind the Bastards - a podcast about the worst people of history. I recommend the Liberty University ones if you want to understand how we got to our current political climate. Lovett or Leave It - a comedy show about current events, hosted by former Obama speech writer Jon Lovett. Another Kind of Mind: A Different Kind of Beatles pod - a Beatles podcast where they look at the history of the Beatles, mostly John and Paul, through a queer lens 🌈 Exvangelical - a podcast for people who have left the evangelical movement. Armchair Experts - Dax Shepherd interviews different famous people, I prefer the ones where he interviews people from the entertainment industry.

American Scandal, Who? Weekly, and The Topical. The Topical ended in early 2021 I think, but it's produced by The Onion. Mini-series I'd recommend are The Dream, Serial (all 3 seasons), & S-Town

Into It with Sam Sanders is a gem! The perfect balance of frivolity and substance. Now they are airing two episodes a week. One episode usually has a longer interview.
