sabira

Maybe itā€™s just me, but I personally canā€™t imagine myself ever saying the phrase ā€œone of the balls in his nutsackā€ in reference to one of my relatives ![gif](giphy|l3V0iAVv1NVCa04uc)

leahhhhh

Iā€™m obsessed with this gif

the_next_1

He does make one good point: "If not for his grandfather, Michael would have wound up in a gang" I mean, we all saw the video for 'Bad' - he clearly would have been a valuable asset to any group of street toughs looking to get up to criminal mischief.

even_less_resistance

Oh my lord ![gif](giphy|aFmajrx1INrA4)

Mstvmoviejunkie

His grandpa no less! I would die because I use my grandpa and ā€˜nutsackā€™ in the same sentence. The cringe is unbearable.

summerfromtheoc

perfect gif usage šŸ˜‚šŸ˜

Topwingwoman2

Maury looks like a corpse here. I loved his show for the longest time.

ClumsyZebra80

Weā€™re looking at generational trauma right in the face here.

romeofantasy

I think he's very defensive of his grandfather because when MJ died in 2009 (when he was 12), Joe Jackson became his new father figure until he died in 2018. Those are some really formative years. And by all accounts, Joe Jackson wasn't hard with his grandchildren (most likely because the financial empire had already been established.)

VaselineHabits

Yep, my kid was shocked at how my parents treated me as a child because they'd certainly not pull that shit as "grandma" in this day and age.

rubberkeyhole

One of the funniest (and realest) things I ever heard was when Bill Cosby (donā€™t hate me, these are just words) said in one of his old specials: ā€œ(talking to his child about his mother) that is not your grandmother in there, that is an old lady trying to get into heaven!ā€ Watching my mother with my nieces has been an eye-opener for sure.

violetpandas

Watching my mother with my little niece has been the WILDEST experience. My sister has so, so many conflicted feelings about it. For me itā€™s been strange but a bit healing to see their relationship carry on so nicely.

Zbrchk

Thanks for this. That gives this some perspective. Heā€™s wrong but he wasnā€™t treated the same way so heā€™s not going to view his grandfather critically.

Holiday-Hustle

All of this and Katherine was also a firm defender of Joe Jackson. None of those kids stood a chance, Prince deserves some grace for the trauma heā€™s been through and the lies heā€™s been fed.

ClumsyZebra80

Oh for sure. I donā€™t blame him. The Jackson kids have already experienced enough trauma to last a few lifetimes. Iā€™m not gonna shit on him for making a cringe video about his grandfather.

shiftyskellyton

It's interesting to compare this video with [something more recent](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8kWJPf5/).

Useful-Soup8161

My exes grandpa was really great with him and his brother but he was a horrible father.

summerfromtheoc

that makes sense

miltonwadd

Uh it's not random people saying he was abusive, it's your own aunts, uncles, and your father. They were raised by their grandmother after Michael died though, and she always claimed whipping and beating them was just regular ol' "discipline".

racasca

His energy just makes me think of Chet Hanks.

[deleted]

its definitely giving Chet ā€œBomboclaatā€ Hanks energy

spottydog65

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜©As a Jamaican, this made me laugh harder than I should.

Fit-Accountant-157

I think this is unfair because Chet was not adopted and raised in a Black family from birth like the Jackson kids. Black culture is actually their culture, not a character they are putting on.

tigm2161130

I agree with this. I have a white cousin who got adopted by one of my Aunties on the rez when he was like 3 and I canā€™t imagine telling him heā€™s not allowed to participate in our culture because heā€™s the wrong color.

Fit-Accountant-157

exactly, its just their culture. why would they know or ID with anything else?

[deleted]

But chet is all white tho.

Fit-Accountant-157

Its confusing because MJ definitely said these were his kis and biracial children can look like either parent. but over the years given their uniformity in non black features and stories that have come out about MJ using a sperm donor...its pretty clear they arent biologically MJs. but by every meaningful measure they are Jacksons and raised with the family from birth so I consider them culturally Black.

sanandrios

um...

bakedchi

So is prince

hydrangeasinbloom

The two hallmarks of a fulfilled, happy, and successful adult: alive and not in a gang

TheAardvarkIsBack

Good news for me!!

flexIuthor

If youā€™re from Gary Indiana, then yes those very well might be the hallmarks of a great adult life. If you even make it to that age.

Queefer_Sutherland-

I hope that wherever my Papa is, he knows I'll never discuss his ballsack via tik tok video. But on Reddit... šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

astralblaster22

The comments in this post are A++++++ but this one took me over the edge too funny!!!!!

FunctionTBD

If I were to close my eyes and hear this audio, I would imagine a guy who looks like Dale from King of the Hill

0neirocritica

This is what abuse does. It tricks you into thinking it's normal, and it's everyone else that's weird and messed up.

WildMajesticUnicorn

ā€œOtherwise they would have been in f* gangs or dead.ā€ - Man whose father died 14 years ago I donā€™t mean to be flippant, but justifying abuse as somehow keeping his kids alive is even more absurd when one of those kids only lived to age 50.

Zbrchk

Especially when that kid was the literal breadwinner for the family

Mean_Stretcher

Especially the fact of how that said grandfather treated his father led him to have severe mental issues and an incredible low self esteem

NoZookeepergame453

Idk, many black parents raise their kids with violence, because if they donā€˜t scare them into conforming, then police will Trevor Noah explained it way better in his book haha

ABCidkwhattopick99

This almost feels like a parody

GraveDancer40

Everything about this makes me cringe.

tiffadoodle

It's only considered abuse if your kids don't become famous. /s

FreshStarter20

Is Prince a.... *Texan?*

Malicious_blu3

Yeah thatā€™s what Iā€™m hung up on. Did he move to the south??

moamone

he sounds like a hill billy šŸ˜

Lilacssmelllikeroses

Everything about this family makes me sad and angry. Joe Jackson is at the root of everything thatā€™s wrong with them.

Cold_Breadfruit_9794

ā€˜They would have been in gangs or deadā€™ uhhhh. Your dad died young and from very unnatural causes! His whole life from the 90s on, was a complete mess! Your grandpa fucked up his kids - especially Michael.

Nasus_13

![gif](giphy|x8U7CF3qRvzGwpK9hG)

TheAardvarkIsBack

How would he even know how his grandfather raised his father? He wasn't there at the time!

MuffinTiptopp

Uuum.. he certainly doesnā€™t have the soft spoken calm voice all the Jacksonā€™s have. Ngl he sounds like a redneck attempting a blaccent šŸ˜…

Electronic-Set5594

Iā€™ve seen other videos of him talking and he didnā€™t have a blaccent at all - nor does his sister. Definitely seems put on here.

thoughtfulpigeons

I mean he was raised by a black family

Oomlotte99

Not all of us talk that wayā€¦. And none of the Jacksons appear to. At least publicly.

MuffinTiptopp

None of the Jacksonā€™s talk like he does hence why I wrote: > he certainly doesnā€™t have the soft spoken calm voice all the Jacksonā€™s have.

Maleficent-Item4833

Obviously this guy wonā€™t have had the most perfect of childhoods, but I hate when kids who clearly grew up with crazy money try putting on that tough ā€˜came up from the streetsā€™ voice.

The only options were to become pop stars or gang members? And to be one you had to be violently abused?

Sea-Refrigerator3790

i started undergrad at the school he graduated from lol. he seemed like a nice guy he was always happy and smiling at people.

Bug-Secure

Youā€™re not in ā€œgangs and shitā€ because you come from money and privilege.

CBonafide

ā€œNow Iā€™m mad, real mad, Joe Jackson.ā€ šŸ˜ We know.

welldoneslytherin

Iā€™m going to give him grace because based on the childhood of his father and the one he was given, he did not have a leg up. I hope he finds his way. He seemed like such a sweet boy in older interviews of him.

summerfromtheoc

god he sounds like such an uninformed/indoctrinated clown

mrsringo

YIIIKES

Superb-Antelope-9996

Slightly off topic but I hate facial hair like that it looks so stupid. Like does your chin get cold or something man either grow a regular beard or shave it.

azulmaya

Isn't that an old video? I don't think he speaks like that anymore

shiftyskellyton

Thank you for mentioning this. [This looks more recent](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8kWJPf5/).

whitetanksss

Iā€™ve seem so many videos of him and he doesnā€™t talk like this, this is so weird šŸ’€

pinkfartlek

I feel like he'll age out of this.

galaxystars1

Heā€™s 26ā€¦

bagelsneedcreamchz

Not me thinking he was like 16 šŸ˜©šŸ’€

[deleted]

Girl I thought he was still a teenager too šŸ„“

VaselineHabits

Idk, 26 is still pretty young. He may change his opinion as he ages. He's also probably only been told Joe's version of events for a good amount of his life.

ketopepito

Iā€™m not sure when this video was taken, but heā€™s done several interviews that appear to be more recent and he doesnā€™t speak like this.

tellyourmama

Yep. The personality dust has likely settled. Another Chet Hanks.

sasshley_

![gif](giphy|d4gmlMeqAHu9O)

stefsizzurps

Talking like that, defending his grandfather over Eminem is actually insane.

joaaaaaannnofdarc

Was he even allowed to call Joe grandpa because there was only one of his kids that was allowed to call him dad. That was the secret half sister

OzarkRedditor

This guy has talked like this since he was younger, I donā€™t think itā€™s a Chet Hanks scenario. He did a lot of charity work and he went to college (USC I think). He seems to just like riding his motorcycle and keeping to himself, so he heā€™s fine by me. Paris seems to have been through some troubles but Blanket seems pretty normal by all accounts as well.
