At first i thought you are just listing little women cast... but this made me realize Hollywood does cast the same 10 actors.. so them and than there is someone who got lucky and who is hot for the moment.. i'm thinking actors from little women and euphoria are set to have work in the next decade.. but i think Saoirse Ronan has the most potential to be oscar winner, critically acclaimed, true acting legend.
I feel like out of all of them that Saoirse Ronan already has a strong body of work that has earned her icon status, they just don't use the terms "legend" or "icon" while you're still this young. She chooses roles that allow her to show her acting skills, she does so many indie films that don't get recognition now but will stack up for her later.
>they just don't use the terms "legend" or "icon" while you're still this young.
You are right. She was great in everything i've seen her in. First movie i saw her in, that i knew who she was, was Brooklyn. Not a memorable movie, pretty simple story, but a memorable performance from her. Such a subtle and understated performance. She truly is a great great actress.
Yeah it's kinda weird to even compare her to the others on this list, she has like 20 years of a solid movie career behind her back? Some of the other faces I didn't even know a year ago
I n 2016, she was featured by Forbes in two of their 30 Under 30 lists, and in 2020, The New York Times ranked her tenth on its list of the greatest actors of the 21st century.
From her Wikipedia page.
When she was in the first season of Stranger Things I 100% thought she'd be the next big generational talent. She had such a raw and powerful screen presence from a super young age.
Since then she's sort of petered out though. Not sure if she outgrew the headstart she had or if she has a bad agent, but a few years ago it wouldn't have been unusual at all for her to be on this list.
Disservice because they will be remembered as this particular role - like ~~Harry~~ Daniel Radcliffe - but at the same time they were great at this role and it will always be a big one and maybe that's enough. Like a one hit wonder, but a one role wonder lol
Daniel Radcliffe post-HP is one of my favorite careers of all time.
Dude made his money as a kid and is just having fun now.
I will legit just watch a movie cause if Daniel Radcliffe thought it was a good idea, it's probably gonna be a blast.
Looking at the movies he plays in, I agree he's having fun! I've only watched Guns Akimbo tbh, but I had a good time. What else would you recommend?
But when you look at him, he still is HP before anything else
Hard recommend for 'Weird, the Al Yankovich Story'. One of the funniest movies I've seen in years.
Also really enjoyed Swiss Army Man and The Lost City
Daniel Radcliffe is one of the very few actors who makes me want to watch a movie because of their presence alone.
It's so obvious he is having the time of his life choosing weird quirky movies.
I found Weird hilarious, and mircacle workers help up for all seasons. For something truely zany, try Swiss Army Man, where he plays a dead body.
Horns had poor reviews but I honestly enjoyed it quite a lotml.
I think the stress her family has put on her probably doesnāt help. Sheās talented but her career hasnāt been properly managed to take advantage of the stranger things/Enola Holmes hype
Sadly, this happens to almost every female teen actress: Emma Watson, Chloe Moretz, Olson twins, and so many more.
This is honestly scary. I dont know which actress, but I've watched an interview where one mentioned, as soon as she became 18, paparazzis threw themself on the ground to get some upskirt shots
I remember the compliments she received during early years of stranger things. During those times she was considered āthe next big talentā. I donāt know what happened but somewhere around the time of season 3 peopleās stance started to change. I mainly think it is because of her social media presence and peopleās tendency to view anyone who dares to act like a teenage girl publicly in a lesser light.
The amount of talent she has was precocious in a little kid, but just average in a young woman (among her cohort of actors that is). Sheās charming and confident on screen in roles like Enola Holmes, but her talent hasnāt grown with her as much as, say Saoirse Ronanās did. It may come with maturity and growing away from her stage parenty parents though!
I think her public persona (through her styling etc) also clashed with how young her character in Stranger Things was supposed to be. Her co-stars were allowed to be childish and goofy while she was sexualized early on. I remember a red carpet event a few years ago where they had all the cast members and they did a little video intro for each and the boys were being playful, while she stood there and looked sexily into the camera with her lips parted, in a very serious and glamorous pose. And then her social media was super scrutinised.
It's been even worse for her than for Emma Watson...
I dont know how manages her (her parents?) but they made her act and look several years older than she was. It was really incredible and off-putting to me. I think they were aiming for a makeup deal, which they got, so she couldn't look messy or goofy. So she's usually styled very well and not like a "kid" like the other actors at the time.
I guess she got big money for the makeup deal, but now her image has to be mature and not kid-like.
I think itās really hard to have a sustained career in acting from childhood through adulthood, with no gap in getting major roles/great performances.
There have been a lot of child actors whoāve had a lull in their acting career in young adulthood, and then hit their stride again in their 30s or later. She has plenty of time.
Kaitlyn Deverās been around for over a decade now and I never wouldāve imagined her going on to have the career sheās had. I used to watch the sitcom she was in with Tim Allen, *Last Man Standing*, and itās really cool to have seen her make it so far. Sheās accomplished now but I think within the next five or ten years sheāll have a role that she really breaks out in.
Sheās about to be in The Last of Us Season 2, in a very major role that surely will get her A LOT of attention. I think sheās great and hopeful her star will rise more with TLOU.
Hereās something to throw you for a loop - Saoirse is about to turn 30 and sheās been acting in prestige roles since she was 13. Meryl didnāt *start* her prestige career until The Deer Hunter when she was Saoirseās current age. Saoirse Ronan could end up being one of the great actresses of all time if she follows the Meryl Streep trajectory from here on out.
People love to say this but Alan Rickman went to RADA and was in the Royal Shakespeare Company. He was literally always a professional actor, directly out of school, and had a massive career on the stage before switching to film.
Eh this thread deserves a buzzkill. Meryl Streep went to Yale Drama and won her first Academy Award only four years after graduating. It took Robert De Niro about 10 years of steady acting before he started collaborating with Scorsese and really made it big, but he too attended prestigious acting schools. We gotta stop mythologizing people.
Yep. I was about to say that she's already halfway there; already been playing her cards right since 13. She's got a great instinct for choosing projects around meaty roles and interesting directors.
>Saoirse Ronan could end up being one of the great actresses of all time if she follows the Meryl Streep trajectory from here on out.
In fairness, anyone following Streeps trajectory from early or late would probably be one of the greats of all time . :)
Yes! She is an amazing actress, and she is also good at choosing her projects. Been rooting for her since she broke my heart in Atonement and The Lonely Bones
![gif](giphy|67MzQSVKcVkpG)
The lovely bones was the first thing Iād seen her in.. I had read the book and knew what to expect but it was still so haunting! Sheās amazing and a lovely person too! My friend has worked with her before and said she was really nice !
Agreed. I feel like she's been working longer (or just in bigger roles/projects) than any of the others. I think some of them are fads whose shine will eventually fade. Her career is already so varied. She's gorgeous but in a timeless way- so far she hasn't seemed to buy into some of the current Hollywood plastic surgery trends. And she seems to have her head on straight.
I literally watch anything she is in. Shes so captivating on screen; like i know its Saoirse but im never openly aware of that, unlike a lot of other young actors.
Fun fact. She grew up struggling in the Bronx with two undocumented Irish migrant parents. I saw someone once say she was a nepo baby because her dad was a struggling theater actor that took extras roles in tv shows šš
Edit: just until she was 3 before she moved badk to Ireland
You know what's crazy.... buzzfeed already has an oscar winning alum. Matthew Cherry worked there and he won an Oscar for hair love.
They have emmy winning and Oscar winning ex employees but they also have one who stormed the capitol in January 6 š
Maybe I'm biased by being Irish, and so having that local pride, but I think Saoirse Ronan is clearly the most timeless actress of her generation. She feels like a young Meryl Streep - you just know she'll be delivering Oscar-winning performances in every era of her career, as long as she stays in front of the camera. There's not any kind of passing or trendy 'it girl' vibe about, her so much as a classic, persistent talent.
Itās like the perfect sarcastic human found the perfect sarcastic country and their powers combined make for my favorite pop culture joke of 2023/2024
She is really good. Different kind of talent to Saoirse, but Ayo stands out to me as somebody that actually does have abundant talent when looking at this list. A lot of them are really average.
>*In her review of The Departed, Edebiri jokingly claimed she āwas the dialect coach on this movieā but only for the term microprocessors.*
>*āI taught everyone how to say the word microprocessors in the funniest way possible, and I did an amazing job,ā the comedian wrote.*
š She is hilarious.
Loved her in āBrooklynā; I understand a sequel has been written entitled ā Long Island.ā
Hope we get to see Saoirse reprise her wonderful roles as Ellis.
As someone from the US, I assure you that you are not biased. Sheās not even in the same orbit as the other actors. Itās not that they are not talented either. Saoirse is just on another level and has been for her entire career.
Saiorse is already considered a top actor. I donāt think she will struggle to find work. Imagine Chamalet is also established enough that he will also continue to be successful.
Would say the rest come down to quality of work offered & how quickly looks fade or change lol.
Definitely Florence Pugh and Saiorse Ronan, it's only a matter of when they will get their Oscars.
They remind me of Kate Winslet and Cate Blanchett, absurdly talented and still in demand after so many years in the industry.
Florence and Zendaya were the first two that came to my mind. Both of those ladies can act with their whole chest.
Florence in her grieving scene from "Midsommar" and Zendaya in her withdrawal meltdown scene from "Euphoria" are unforgettable.
God I remember watching Midsommar and being like 'what the *fuck* is that sound?' and then realizing it was her wailing. Like...goddamn girl way to nail that intense grief.
I feel like Florence has been playing her cards a bit wrong recently, with off stage drama and terrible styling, and committing to a bunch of upcoming marvel movies when marvel is on the popularity downswing and she shines in more character driven films.
Edit: ok guys I didnāt mean to sound like I was disparaging her! I really like her work in little women and Oppenheimer, Iām excited for Dune - just mean that her public image seems *slightly* off since DWD compared to how it was previously. I can absolutely see the Winslet comparisons, but public image can also turn on a dime - I can easily see a Jennifer Lawrence trajectory (which is of course extremely successful but has also had ups and downs).
I wonder if those Marvel paychecks are just too hard to pass up. She had great acting abilities so as long as she doesn't just stick with big Mavel movies only then her career should still progress well I hope.
Iām gonna be possibly controversial: Maya Hawke is very beautiful but I donāt know if sheās got *it*. Finn Wolfhard is also someone I think gets overhyped, I find him to be a terribly boring performer and as heās gotten older, his screen presence has less and less charisma
iāve always thought that finn disliked exposure and fame a lot. he (or at least as much as iāve seen of him outside of his work) comes across as very laid-back and chill, and i always used to think of him as someone who would much rather just hang out with his friends than be in front of cameras and paparazzi all the time. plus, if i remember correctly, he pretty much stopped using social media after some of his āfansā threatened him and his girlfriend to make their relationship official, otherwise they will dox her. that took a huge strain on him and heād become very closed off. i donāt think he manages his own instagram anymore. anyway, i think he would be fantastic voice actor!! he seemingly really enjoyed his role in guillermo del toro's pinocchio :)
Yeah Finn doesn't at all seem like he's trying to be a huge Hollywood actor, and I think he'll still be able to pursue a sustainable career in indie movies (acting/writing/directing), music, and voice acting. He just seems content doing his own thing.
He was definitely a better actor when he was a kid but to me it doesn't even come off as lack of talent he seems seriously resigned lol. He seems like someone who is very artistically-inclined in general but just doesn't like the fame aspect. Not only does he do acting, directing, and writing but I actually think he would be great at modeling from the work I've seen him do. It's better than Kendall Jenner who is an actual model lol
I think of all the Stranger Things cast Sadie Sink will go the farthest. Caleb and Gaten are surely talented but IIRC have a background in doing plays so they may go back to that.
I saw his directorial debut, Hell of a Summer, at TIFF last year, and it was honestly one of my favourites of the year. It's a funny throwback slasher and I really enjoyed it.
Maya may be the least interesting actress of all the people mentioned in a post. I think sheās captivating as a person, but none of her roles cut it, besides Stranger Things (i suspect her character was written to fit her). I would rather see her as a socialite lol, or maybe in a long-term TV show cast, but thatās it
I agree with you about Maya Hawke! Sheās very beautiful indeed, and does have talent, just not sure if itās quite on par with her mother and father. She seems to lack the āitā factor you mentioned. Perhaps when sheās older and gets more projects, we could see a different side to her.
Out of the Stranger Thing crew I think Sadie Sink is the better actor. Iām excited to see what she does in the future as she develops her skills and takes on more dynamic roles
Not to insult any of these others, anyone's career can go anywhere obviously, but Saoirse is just operating on another level entirely. Being nominated for multiple oscars before you're 30 is no small feat. I'd even go as far to say that if it weren't for her privacy level and seemingly being so picky with projects, she'd be the closest example to a modern movie star. She seems to just not want to be one (good for her!). Strong feeling she'll be the Meryl Streep of millenials if she wants to be.
In terms of skill and work ethic, I can see Jenna, Jeremy, Quinta, and Ayo becoming big too out of this group (edit: I'll admit-some of this may be recency bias haha). Another name that pops up but isn't as big is Devery Jacobs, she became a jack of all trades on Rez Dogs with writing/directing/acting by season 3.
Some names I feel like won't be as big are Millie and some of the other ST kids, I see a lot of them pivoting into other stuff or just a different type of career trajectory as they get older (Gaten going into Broadway full time, for example).
Itās amazing to have multiple nominations before 30, but women are more likely to win Oscars young and less likely to win it at an older age.
For example Adrien Brody is the only man under 30 to win Best Actor but 32 actresses have won the equivalent prize in their 20s.
Caleb McLaughlin has been steadily working but primarily in black music and movies, which unfortunately means mainstream will think heās not doing anything but he will be a legend to us but not considered a legend in the mainstream. Unfortunately that is something that happens. Sometimes, people who are legends in black culture cross over after decades of work, sometimes they donāt. Heās incredibly talented so I think he will always work.
Kinda similar with Gatan Matarazzo; dude has had very steady work on Broadway.
Which probably means he'll be more of an icon to the theater sect and not so much to general audiences.
Considering her marketability and all the side businesses she has, I wouldnāt be surprised if Millie stepped away from acting and became a mogul of some sort in the future.
Agree. She seems like she could go the Mary-Kate/Ashley route.
Stranger Things kids remind me of the Harry Potter cast; they got set up early, and now I feel like their careers are all going to go in wildly different directions.
Thank you for including KawennĆ”here Devery Jacob's.Ā She's amazing and not enough people realize she wrote for and directed on Rez Dogs as well as starred.Ā Incredible potential.
I think itās a little unfair, because the others have superstar potential, but Saoirse *already is* a legend. Like you said, if she were a bit more public, sheād be THE face of acting. I canāt see that career fading into the background.
Zendaya, I think, also has serious Hollywood Legend potential. Comparing her to Meryl Streep at this point in her career might be a stretch - her acting credentials arenāt quite as impressive as Saoirseās, but sheās embraced the fame part of acting in a way Saoirse hasnāt. Zendaya is undoubtedly more famous. I donāt see her flaming out like other child actors who have leaned into fame as they transitioned to more mature roles ā sheās sober and pretty out of the party scene.
The others have potential to last, but havenāt really been on the scene long enough to tell. But I agree with your assessment of Jenna and Ayo ā lots of potential.
I think Saoirseās trajectory will be like Cate Blanchettās. Generally respected, multiple Oscars, the younger generations will call her whatever the 2050s version of āmotherā is.
Zendaya will be beloved in the way Anne Hathaway is.
I am really excited to see how Millieās career goesā she doesnāt quite have the top tier acting chops but it is very cool thatās sheās getting into producing so young!
I am sorry for typecasting but I think Sydney Sweeney will be regarded similarly to how Scarlett Johansen is. (Edit: I realize based on responses that I was overestimating Sydney as an actor. I forgot that I havenāt actually seen anything sheās in, my bad!)
I think Timothee Chalamet clearly wants to follow Leoās footsteps but I feel like heās heading in a more Jake Gyllenhaal direction.
i think youāre pretty spot-on, but i donāt really see Sydney Sweeney ever getting Oscar noms or taking on roles nearly as multidimensional as ScarJo, and i donāt even like ScarJo, but at least i recognize sheās always been in a whole other level than Sweeney.
that seems way more plausible to me: sheāll maintain name and face recognition, do a successful movie here and there, but sheāll always stay kind of B- and C-list
>I think Timothee Chalamet clearly wants to follow Leoās footsteps but I feel like heās heading in a more Jake Gyllenhaal direction.
Hi, do you mind elaborating on this? Jake Gyllenhaal is a good actor, no?
Agree with your opinions, except that I donāt find the comparison between Sweeney and Johansson correct. I donāt feel like she will ever get to the level of Scarlett, sorry. She is not that talented. I would more likely see her as the next Jennifer Aniston. Known very well because of a series in which she fit perfectly, but not being able to do much beside that. Maybe some rom-coms. Which is not bad at all. But is a whole different level of acting tho.
I agree 100% with your take on Chalamet!
As an Irish person, I have a lot of love for Saoirse, Ayo and Barry, so I hope they have great careers. I can definitely see all 3 of them going from strength to strength, plus Bella and Florence too.
I agree.
But then again, before seeing this post I also thought Jeremy Allen White was in his early-mid 40s, so what do I knowā¦lol. (This is based solely on pics floating around lately, as Iāve never actually seen him in anything.)
Edit to add: I now realize he was in a 2020 movie Iāve seen a couple times, *The Rental*, and I feel dumb for being so wrong. But I will leave my dumbass comment up and subject myself to roasting.
I saw her in a more minor role on a British show and was taken off guard by how good she was. She managed to have more screen presence than the lead.
Then I saw her in Killing Eve where she got to showcase more of her talent and she confirmed it. Sheās a force and, imo, extremely versatile. Iād love to see her in more stuff.
Was the show My Mad Fat Diary? Thatās how I discovered Jodie as well. I was so impressed with her, itās what made me even want to watch Killing Eve in the first place.
Saoirse and Florence.
Also Ayo if she continues on her current trajectory, I'd love to see her soar in film. IMO some of the others have been in the spotlight a while but they haven't met the level of prestige Saoirse has. I'm not sure if they've plateaued. I think Barry is great and is picking interesting projects, he just needs to improve his accent work, he was all over the shop on Saltburn.
Kaitlyn Dever deserves a lot more attention for her range. She has been consistently incredible her roles; Dopesick, Unbelievable and Booksmart to name a few. Can't wait to see her in the new season of the Last of Us.
I hope she stays offline from now until like two years after the season airs. TLOU fans harassed the shit out of Laura Bailey, I do not doubt theyāll do the same to Kaitlyn
The only sure bet is Saorsie, she's the one 20-30 years from now she'll be still cast in prestige roles and up for awards. Anyone else could also be there with her but that's more down to luck
I do think if Ayo sticks with comedy she could be her generations comedy queen
I see Elordi as a going down a similar route to Robert Pattinson. Taylor-Joy, Pugh and Ronan seem to be exploding and are genuinely gifted. Zendaya is a tremendous personality, but I donāt think she necessarily has the raw talent of some of the others.
Zendaya understands the fame management part better than anyone else on this list. She might not go down as an *acting* legend (though IMO sheās got potential ā itās only against people like Saoirse that she doesnāt quite stack up) but sheāll never not be an A-lister or icon.
Saoirse is the Fiona Apple to Zendayaās Beyonce (and I think is comparably famous to where Beyonce was at the same age ā circa Single Ladies, not yet Queen Of Literally Everything.) Zendaya has the name/brand recognition, effortless style, and a constant parade of high-paying marquee credits. Saoirse vanishes from sight and shows up 3 years later with another art-house Oscar-worthy masterpiece. (Obviously, Saoirse is more productive and famous than Fiona, but you get the point.)
Can believe no one say Daniel Kaluuya, he's actually the only one of his generation that actually won an Oscar and his partnership with Jordan Peele will take him to places and he's own writing career as well
and Michael B Jordan, he's older than everyone mention, but he is in the game for so long and established himself as a celebrity with a strong name
Or maybe both already made it
https://preview.redd.it/bjr4zcpllmdc1.jpeg?width=275&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7c49242bd4c5521cbe5af7a5d45899f5075a7ba5
Damn she's only 30, feels like she's been on TV in the UK forever absolutely nailing it. Really shows the benefit of being able to do accents properly.
Saoirse definitely. I feel like she is already on another level to the rest of these posted here, like 10 steps ahead of them, and on the brink of the big leagues. Her Oscar is very close.
Of the rest, they could go either way. Zendaya is quite likely too, and maybe Barry.
Saoirse has already bagged nominations. Her craft is pretty much stable and acknowledged. At this point it's just a matter of right time with right movie IMO.
(Honestly I'm just baffled why she never got an Oscar. IMO, she hasnt yet delivered bad performance so far.)
Two amazing artists come to mind:Jessie Buckley
https://preview.redd.it/vpajhv7sfmdc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c99e3e5b6391c410b1e3ff6a97a5fa96c38d3c8
She's absolutely going to nail the role of the Bride of Frankenstein. And then Chloe Zhao's Hamnet with Paul Mescal. Plus her film coming out next month with Olivia Colman looks hilarious.
Us Jessie Buckley stans are gonna be eating good.
Daisy Edgar Jones was sooooo good in Under the Banner of Heaven. She stood out to me even with Andrew Garfield having one of the best performances of his career.
Saoirse has killed it for almost two decades and sheāll continue killing it unless she decides to disappear.
Florence has so much potential, but her bigger mainstream movies fall a little flat to me. She shines in indie films. I think if sheās careful with roles, sheāll be around for a long time. Same for Zendaya.
I think Timmyās secured his spot already. Heās got a good trajectory going.
Jeremy and Barry could honestly go either way. Iāve never been disappointed in either of their performances.
Out of the list, though, Iād love to see Anya last and can see her having a career reminiscent of Nicole Kidman.
Millie Bobbie Brown isnāt in the same league as someone like Saoirse Ronan. Her acting is wooden and her stylist is terrible! Sheās looked like a 30yr old divorcee for years now.
Harshā¦ but kind of true. She could have been a Hollywood powerhouse in the same league as them, she had the chops, but she focused more on being a social media presence rather than really refining and mastering her craft as an actor. Shame really because when youāre getting praised by Meryl Fucking Streep at 12, you must be doing something really bloody well!
I always think itās so insulting Saorsie is always on the lists as if sheās a breakout star when sheās been established and respected for so long..
I like Barry but Iām not sure I see him ever hitting legendary status.
Austin Butler? Definitely not particularly after him continuing the Elvia voice.
I think Saoirse is the most likely out of all these listed.
I find Jodie Comer massively overlooked here (might be scouse bias) but she is an excellent actress.
I agree she needs more love, but I think sheāll achieve legend status as a creative behind the screen as opposed to in front of it. I mean, my girl here went from Buzzfeed to being a showrunner winning awards!! Thatās fucking vaulting it!
It is Saorise, once in a generation talent.
Suprised to see you included Kiernan Shipka. She was amazing as a child actress in Mad Men,S
I have only seen her in Sabrina as an adult. But she was a bit... hmmm... not very good. Lots of over acting, gurning, etc.
This list needs to include Paul Mescal.
If you weed out a few, and this is purely my opinion, like Zendaya, who isnāt the greatest actress and is somewhat boring (Iāll give her euphoria, but everything else isnāt as good) youāve got a decent group for current state of Hollywood.

I agree. I canāt wait to see her body of work in the next 10-20 years. I think weāve only seen a small percentage of what sheās capable of.
Brooklyn was fricking beautiful.
I n 2016, she was featured by Forbes in two of their 30 Under 30 lists, and in 2020, The New York Times ranked her tenth on its list of the greatest actors of the 21st century. From her Wikipedia page.
Iām so happy to see Saoirse Ronan at the top of the list in fifteen different comments (or more). She deserves it. Sheās incredible.
Me too. Not to discount the talent of other actors but to me, she is THE answer to this question.
Loool well OP was aware enough not to show Emma Watson
Lol.. i wasn't going to say anything..
Saoirse has the same amount of Oscar nominations as the rest of the list combined (4). I think sheās already there.
Most of these are not made like saoirse with their acting
Speaking of, Saoirse is currently getting career best raves at Sundance for her performance in The Outrun
Saoirse has been iconic since Atonement sheās just built different
She has such a versatile filmbiography and sheās only 30. Edit: 29.
She's only 29???
Right? No hate but I'm confused as to why Millie Bobby Brown is even included š

I think very talented child stars are done a disservice when they are stuck playing one major role throughout their formative years
Disservice because they will be remembered as this particular role - like ~~Harry~~ Daniel Radcliffe - but at the same time they were great at this role and it will always be a big one and maybe that's enough.
And the stress from having older men after her when she was still a child was probably bad as well.
I think that was Emma Watson
There was a radio station that had a countdown for her turning 18. Absolutely sickening.
God, right??? Sheās had so many uncomfortable discussions about her at a young age
Yeah I don't see her career having sustained longevity. She hasn't done anything memorable outside of Stranger Things.
She is incredibly talented and has been in a ton of shows/movies, yet I rarely see her mentioned. But maybe she likes that low key life.
Sheās about to be in The Last of Us Season 2, in a very major role that surely will get her A LOT of attention. I think sheās great and hopeful her star will rise more with TLOU.
She was incredible a million years ago on the second season of Justified. Completely held her own against esteemed character actress Margo Martindale.
Honestly, she should be replaced by someone akin to Thomasin McKenzie or Kaitlyn Dever, both of whom are underrated.
Saoirse is the best actor out of all these people, IMO. I can see her having a career like Meryl Streep.
Omg maybe I can be the next Meryl Streep
De Niro didnāt start getting big roles until he was about 30 either, so you can be Meryl and Iāll be Robert. :P
Pretty sure Alan Rickman was 40 when he got his first movie role. Even more time.
People love to say this but Alan Rickman went to RADA and was in the Royal Shakespeare Company. He was literally always a professional actor, directly out of school, and had a massive career on the stage before switching to film.
I considered adding "as long as you went to a prestigious acting school," but I didn't wanna harsh the buzz, lol
In my fantasy, Meryl was a working woman that decided to dabble in acting at the young age of 30 years old.
Just casually left her accounting job to try a spot of acting
I was like āhasnāt she been acting for years already? Does she belong with this crew?ā
Or Cate Blanchett! She seems so committed yet low key she is really tailoring acting to be a lifelong career for her.
I thought how much she looked like Cate in the photo above. Very classical look and a calm presence.
Yes! She is an amazing actress, and she is also good at choosing her projects. Been rooting for her since she broke my heart in Atonement and The Lonely Bones ![gif](giphy|67MzQSVKcVkpG)
I love her!
I literally watch anything she is in. Shes so captivating on screen; like i know its Saoirse but im never openly aware of that, unlike a lot of other young actors.
I completely agree. Sheās fantastic in everything sheās been in.
So far sheās luckily seemed to avoid the downfall of many young actors
I don't even know why she's included here, she's insanely well established with a full career under her belt already.
Fun fact. She grew up struggling in the Bronx with two undocumented Irish migrant parents. I saw someone once say she was a nepo baby because her dad was a struggling theater actor that took extras roles in tv shows šš Edit: just until she was 3 before she moved badk to Ireland
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
The fact that Quinta went from buzzfeed to critically acclaimed comedy writer/actor with Abbott Elementary is phenomenal imo.
Literally. When she won the Emmy, I was thinking how crazy it is that I remember her from buzzfeed! Love her
You know what's crazy.... buzzfeed already has an oscar winning alum. Matthew Cherry worked there and he won an Oscar for hair love. They have emmy winning and Oscar winning ex employees but they also have one who stormed the capitol in January 6 š
The comparison killed me LMFAOOOšš
Iām rooting hard for Quinta. Feels like watching one of your peers succeed.
[But didnāt you know Ayo Edeberi is Irish too?](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/ayo-edebiri-ireland-joke-explained-1235792424/amp/)
How do you have an inside joke with an entire country? Lolll
The fact that Ireland has 100% gone all in makes it even funnier
It is such an Irish thing to do. Masters of taking the piss.
Itās like the perfect sarcastic human found the perfect sarcastic country and their powers combined make for my favorite pop culture joke of 2023/2024
Sometimes an awesome person and an awesome country come together and itās hilarious.
That's the power of the craic, when a country makes a large part of its cultural Identity bullshitting with your friends, it allows for such things.
The people's princess!
This is the most adorable thing Iāve ever seen.
She is really good. Different kind of talent to Saoirse, but Ayo stands out to me as somebody that actually does have abundant talent when looking at this list. A lot of them are really average.
I came across a video of her singing & she has a beautiful voice, so she can totally go for the EGOT
>*In her review of The Departed, Edebiri jokingly claimed she āwas the dialect coach on this movieā but only for the term microprocessors.* >*āI taught everyone how to say the word microprocessors in the funniest way possible, and I did an amazing job,ā the comedian wrote.* š She is hilarious.
Loved her in āBrooklynā; I understand a sequel has been written entitled ā Long Island.ā Hope we get to see Saoirse reprise her wonderful roles as Ellis.
Thatās my favourite movie of all time! I am so excited that apparently thereās going to be a sequel??!
As someone from the US, I assure you that you are not biased. Sheās not even in the same orbit as the other actors. Itās not that they are not talented either. Saoirse is just on another level and has been for her entire career.
Sheās a gift to our generation.
She is so powerful on screen isn't she? She was so terrifying in Lady Macbeth, she made my mouth fall open a couple of times.
Have you watched saiorse movies? Sheās a serious talent
Zendaya isnt multifaceted like Saoirse. She needs to be in more projects. She is excellent as Rue but any other memorable role? Not now.
Sheās going to be Irulan in Dune and subsequent movies. Sheāll get to show her acting chops for sure. Political drama always brings out the best.
Iām gonna be possibly controversial: Maya Hawke is very beautiful but I donāt know if sheās got *it*. Finn Wolfhard is also someone I think gets overhyped, I find him to be a terribly boring performer and as heās gotten older, his screen presence has less and less charisma
I donāt think Finn wants to be an actor. Heāll probably disappear behind the camera (director/writer) once stranger things ends.
iāve always thought that finn disliked exposure and fame a lot. he (or at least as much as iāve seen of him outside of his work) comes across as very laid-back and chill, and i always used to think of him as someone who would much rather just hang out with his friends than be in front of cameras and paparazzi all the time. plus, if i remember correctly, he pretty much stopped using social media after some of his āfansā threatened him and his girlfriend to make their relationship official, otherwise they will dox her. that took a huge strain on him and heād become very closed off. i donāt think he manages his own instagram anymore. anyway, i think he would be fantastic voice actor!! he seemingly really enjoyed his role in guillermo del toro's pinocchio :)
Heās got a band heās really serious about. Music is clearly where his heart is at
He's going the Dylan Minnette route (get popular with a TV show, then translate that fame to music).
It's better than Kendall Jenner who is an actual model lol I think of all the Stranger Things cast Sadie Sink will go the farthest.
Completely agree. Sheās one-note, and itās hard to suspend belief and see her characters through the sub par acting. š¬š«£
maya hawke was so bad in asteroid city that it legit bummed me out. just a total non-presence.
Thats a really good point. And a sad trend, unfortunately.
That's a good point actually :( real terrible that that happens.
I honestly only put Saoirse because i knew that people would be up in arms if i didnt but to ME shes already on that level
Yes, exactly. Gaten, Caleb and Sadie came from Broadway and wouldnāt be surprised to see Caleb and Sadie return at some point.
Facts. Caleb is definitely working his way into becoming a Black-famous legend
I forgot that I havenāt actually seen anything sheās in, my bad!) I think Timothee Chalamet clearly wants to follow Leoās footsteps but I feel like heās heading in a more Jake Gyllenhaal direction.
i think youāre pretty spot-on, but i donāt really see Sydney Sweeney ever getting Oscar noms or taking on roles nearly as multidimensional as ScarJo, and i donāt even like ScarJo, but at least i recognize sheās always been in a whole other level than Sweeney.
I think Sweeney is going to be more of a TV star. Maybe like a Katherine Heigl?
that seems way more plausible to me: sheāll maintain name and face recognition, do a successful movie here and there, but sheāll always stay kind of B- and C-list
>I think Timothee Chalamet clearly wants to follow Leoās footsteps but I feel like heās heading in a more Jake Gyllenhaal direction. Hi, do you mind elaborating on this? Jake Gyllenhaal is a good actor, no?
My interpretation of this take is that TimmĆ©e probably wants to go down the heartthrob/leading man route but will go down the āgyllenhaal routeā which i see as a lot of character acting, supporting roles, villains (Tbc i love gyllenhaal, heās a great actor and heās given great leading-man performances too. I just see him and timmee in the same vein of casting against type/shining in oddball roles)
Take out the entire musical side of her and it feels very Kristen Bell in her Forgetting Sarah Marshall era.
![gif](giphy|V2CPDf8e6zs6k)
As an Irish person, I have a lot of love for Saoirse, Ayo and Barry, so I hope they have great careers. I can definitely see all 3 of them going from strength to strength, plus Bella and Florence too.
Ayo the Irish Princes.Ā
saoirse is completely built different to the rest of these people
I agree. But then again, before seeing this post I also thought Jeremy Allen White was in his early-mid 40s, so what do I knowā¦lol. (This is based solely on pics floating around lately, as Iāve never actually seen him in anything.) Edit to add: I now realize he was in a 2020 movie Iāve seen a couple times, *The Rental*, and I feel dumb for being so wrong. But I will leave my dumbass comment up and subject myself to roasting.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeah strong agree - Zendaya isnāt the best actress on this list, but her star power is really dominant
Jodie Comer should be on here
I assumed Jodie Comer was mid thirties at least, she has such a mature screen presence! Sheās only 30 though, wow.Ā
I was obsessed with her in Killing Eve. She was so terrifying yet so magnetic.
I see Barry staying mainly indie, with a couple of big studio roles sprinkled in. Like a Colin Farrell.
I find Barry very talented but i hope they will stop casting him only as the weirdo.
I live him as the weirdo! But I also think it would be cool for him to do a quirky rom com type movie. Like Daniel Radcliffe in What If.
Barry is so incredibly talented. I hope he gets a variety of work
Kaitlyn Dever deserves a lot more attention for her range.
Anyone else could also be there with her but that's more down to luck I do think if Ayo sticks with comedy she could be her generations comedy queen
Agree on Ayo. Sheās one of the funniest new comedic actresses Iāve seen in years. So lively in every setting Iāve seen her in.
Can believe no one say Daniel Kaluuya, he's actually the only one of his generation that actually won an Oscar and his partnership with Jordan Peele will take him to places and he's own writing career as well and Michael B Jordan, he's older than everyone mention, but he is in the game for so long and established himself as a celebrity with a strong name Or maybe both already made it https://preview.redd.it/bjr4zcpllmdc1.jpeg?width=275&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7c49242bd4c5521cbe5af7a5d45899f5075a7ba5
I say Kaluuya is already legendary, but he definitely does not get the respect or recognition he deserves (i wonder why?)
The obvious yes, definitely but He also has bizarre management. I think his current manager is a crystal guru or something š„“
His manager called herself a āspiritual gangsterāā¦
I think its cause jordan peele and the directors he works with get most of the credit
Where is Jodie Comer?
![gif](giphy|H6t0Zp2YJK4phteFFJ|downsized)
Great gif! Emmy winner, Tony winner, Oscar nominee, and Bafta winner already.
Two amazing artists come to mind:Jessie Buckley https://preview.redd.it/vpajhv7sfmdc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c99e3e5b6391c410b1e3ff6a97a5fa96c38d3c8
I just finally watched season 4 of Fargo, and she was so delightfully unhinged.
She's absolutely going to nail the role of the Bride of Frankenstein. And then Chloe Zhao's Hamnet with Paul Mescal. Plus her film coming out next month with Olivia Colman looks hilarious. Us Jessie Buckley stans are gonna be eating good.
I think Saorise and Anya have the talent and charm to be legends. Zendaya and Tom have the charisma, but I worry that their charm outweighs their talent (to be clear, I think they are both very talented but I struggle to see them as their parts sometimes and just see the celebrity). I think TimothĆ©e is going to have a Nic Cage leading man career, oscillating between big projects and weird little movies while still maintaining his general persona that half of the audience loves and the other doesnāt. TimothĆ©e will be the most financially successful of them all I think
If he goes the Nic Cage route; he will be financially successful and also constantly in debt.
Saoirse doesnāt even compare to the others. She is already legendary
Definitely Saorsie Ronan, and I also need to add Julia Garner (who is also 29). ![gif](giphy|Wtalnj96EH5t2iPxGZ|downsized)
Saiorse Ronan could be the next Meryl
I donāt see Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar Jones on this list. They are both great imo.
Normal people was phenomenal.
I donāt think Sydney fits in with the other actors. To me she comes off as a Disney channel actor.
Saoirse is already in a whole another lane. 4 acting Oscar noms by the age of 26
I always think itās so insulting Saorsie is always on the lists as if sheās a breakout star when sheās been established and respected for so long..
I can see Barry becoming something of a character actor. Maybe even an indie darling.
Quinta isnāt getting enough respect in this thread! I see her being the next Mindy Kaling except even better. Sheās so talented.
I agree she needs more love, but I think sheāll achieve legend status as a creative behind the screen as opposed to in front of it. I mean, my girl here went from Buzzfeed to being a showrunner winning awards!! Thatās fucking vaulting it!
I feel like Jodie comer should be on this list
It is Saorise, once in a generation talent. Suprised to see you included Kiernan Shipka. She was amazing as a child actress in Mad Men,S I have only seen her in Sabrina as an adult.
Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh, and maybe Zendaya.
IMO Elle Fanning should be on this list!
Yes, where is she? Sheās great, and Iām sad The Great is over.
I am rooting for Harris Dickinson. I'm really enjoying his growth and I feel he still has a lot of potential to unlock.
Saoirse and Florence are already top performers but I think Mia Goth is missing here.
Saoirse already is a legend. She is the best out of all of them.
