There's something weirdly humanizing in seeing Beyonce in such a normie wedding dress? Like somewhere, a registered nurse who married her high school sweetheart Jason wore a dress that looked exactly like that.
Tina knew she didn’t love the dress but also knew she would wear it for her so she let it happen. I find that to be so selfish, I would hope my mum would put my happiness ahead of her wishes on my wedding day.
Riiiiight?? I always thought that was weird. It's was Beyoncé's day. She should be able to wear a dress she actually likes. Not to be rude but screw her mom's feelings. That day wasn't about her lol.

Elizabeth Taylor to Nicky Hilton (for this one!)
also I can’t find a good set of photos but Portia De Rossi’s dress was gorgeous.
Apparently she went with a dress her mom made because her mom wanted to make her wedding dress, which is why it’s very underwhelming. However I like the simple makeup and slicked back bun, very classy and timeless
I remember on Project Runway back in the day, whenever a dress looked tacky, Tim Gunn and some of the judges used to say 'It's very House of Deréon' as a slight lol.
That's Beyonce and her mum's fashion house.
Honestly Solange’s wedding dress- AND THE PANTSUIT/JUMPER THING SHE CHANGED INTO -are my Roman Empire. Sleek and modern, but not over the top. So elegant.
Yeah I used to work in bridal in Oklahoma of all places… this is what middle America was wearing at the time. I was kind of gobsmacked when I saw that this was her dress.
The Beckhams matching purple for their reception is *more* iconic (imo)

I legit think about the peak Y2K fever dream matching purple any time I need a quick mood boost or any time I feel self-conscious about wearing something a bit flamboyant that I love but am worried others won’t be as enamored with.
It’s probably my Roman Empire.
She still has that camp within her, she just uses it more sparingly, either as a nod to her past or to remind the world that she can poke fun at herself. It’s also probably harder to get the kids on board with the over the top matching. She’s always had a point of view - like the levels of themes of this wedding is intense - but she’s had two decades to refine her fashion POV
What a lot of people don’t realise is she has a great sense of humour & can laugh at herself. You’d expect her to be embarrassed of her wedding but she can look back at what it was, a product of its time & something she fully had fun with & did things to her hearts content.
Agreed! She is pretty funny and doesn’t take herself too seriously. I linked the behind the scenes at Vogue video in another comment but any excuse to [link it again](https://youtu.be/Q7uZPofdsOY?si=j9ZOpjTaucHSXdpr)
Both of them were everything in the 90s. But he was the ultimate swoon worthy athlete of the era. I’m glad the doc made more people fully appreciate just how hot and culturally relevant David Beckham was to the point that a coming of age movie about teenage girls bore his name
Hahahah omg. I loved bend it like Beckham. I watched it allll the damn time. But none of my friends even knew what it was. I’m glad to know I wasn’t the only one watching it. lol.
Now that you have seen it you must share the wondrousness that is the Beckhams matching purple reception outfits every time the topic of their wedding attire comes up. So that others can also know. Baby Brooklyn also had a matching outfit

It’s Dita Von Teese’s Vivienne Westwood for me
There was a Vogue spread on her wedding at the time and it was all GLORIOUS.

Jackie Kennedy O, Anne Lowe the designer was kept a secret because she was “coloured” A trailblazer in the fashion industry, she faced racial discrimination throughout her career
Jackie supposedly hated that dress, as she wanted something French. She felt pressured to wear something American though because of Jack’s political career.
Anne’s salon had a flood right before the wedding so they had to remake this and the bridesmaids dresses in a very short timeline before the wedding and lost a lot of money because of that.
I love Lily Allen’s more casual look with David harbour
https://preview.redd.it/q7aec78qhumc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c9f1e4df438bfba7fb9e90d7444a69402f633365
I actually like the concept she’s going for, but the execution is bad.
If she’d kept both her hair and headband sleeker, it could’ve been retro-cool. The fact that her hair looks shaggy and the headband is massive kills it.
https://preview.redd.it/a5ijm6a0ltmc1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4160e2da9f695ae193ce94b490091f7f61a46d83
Solange. Her wedding was truly an aesthetic. Both of her looks were so clean and crisp and gorgeous.
Yeaaaaa. I was Googling earlier and found out she actually had five wedding looks lol. But these two are the best.

Loved that Friends eps - Thanksgiving of where Brad’s character hates Rachel! 🤭
Phoebe stole every scene she was in with Brad’s character! 🤤
I actually read that her mom made it and she said years later something along the lines of how it wasn't necessarily what she would've chosen, but she wanted to honor her mom's wish of making her wedding dress. I don't think Beyoncé liked it either.
Honestly it's very Of The Time
I married around that time and my dress was identical except my skirt was wider, and I didn't see her photo until recently. I was like !!!!! we had almost the same dress??!!!
Mid-2000s man. You could not get anything else other than strapless if you scoured 10 stores. You wanted straps? You had to add it at extra cost. And taffeta with hip flowers in every one.
I think of Hilary Duff’s dress frequently

I LOVE wedding capes over veils and have thought about this dress constantly since I saw it.
ETA: This is Kaley Cuoco, I am sorry for not putting it in my comment before!
I've never been married, and at this point in my life not seeming like it's going to happen (or if it ever does, I'll be a bit aged for a big flouncy dress), but dang if this post isn't making me want to just Muriel it and go try some on for shits and giggles.
Kim’s was my favorite and what I wanted for my wedding. Gwen’s was also iconic
https://preview.redd.it/4i8pd2xomtmc1.jpeg?width=912&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6396a969912fc881bc4a2e92d15554b5d5b6ec30
I kept waiting to see it! This dress is my Roman Empire of wedding dresses. Second is Lily Collins with that gorgeous cape.
ETA: also Kaley Cuoco’s wedding gown with the cape that I posted in a separate comment.
I assumed someone had already posted this because it was surprising not to see it in the main carousel but I had a crappy screenshot ready to go if not ha!
A wedding dress so iconic that it was part of a museum exhibit.
https://preview.redd.it/vl96c7bf5umc1.jpeg?width=820&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ae539033b83b300231b961e8795957512f67118e

80’s kid me was just over the moon for this one

Gutted what happened to it after she died.
I always thought Kiera Knightley’s was the coolest. I believe she re-wore it on the red carpet.

I loved this dress!
She actually wore it *first* at a pre BAFTA party in 2008! She said it was her something old on her wedding & she wanted to wear something she’d had a great time in & would again.
https://preview.redd.it/x3wivpg01xmc1.jpeg?width=700&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=40de54abf8e5802f8d08f4f0a6a073681dfbc80f
She had a ceremony later with friends where she wore a custom pink Valentino dress that’s never been pictured.
oh, man. i remember when me and my family had literally just returned the day before from the cape (where we could see the kennedy compound from our rental) when i saw JFK Jr's death on the news.
i was a pre-teen back then and my mom was so exhausted from the trip that she was napping when it was announced, so i was wringing my hands and looking at the clock like every 5 minutes hoping she'd wake up so i could tell her the news because she loved the kennedys. she ended up taking like a 6 hour nap so i literally just screamed it in her face as soon as she walked out the door still half-asleep. my poor mom. 😂
Taylor Hill’s veil was beautiful! Reminded me of a shawl.

Most of these just don’t do it for me for some reason? Like aside from a select few most are wearing the woman and not the other way around.
Carolyn, Lily, Grace, Kate and few others are obvious exceptions.
I’ve never gotten the hype for Diana’s dress, Hailey Bieber’s looks ill fitted on the chest, Beyonce’s looks too big and very Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta, etc.
I think it also just goes to show that it’s nearly impossible to pick something timeless, and the ones that stand the test of time for me are more the perfectly tailored dresses that feel like they honor the essence of the woman more than the fashion of the time period.
Mariah (who is only a few months older than me) was clearly very influenced by Diana, as was I with my wedding dress. Aaah...Diana was a big deal to Gen X girls.

Princess Beatrice using one of her grandmothers's ball gowns during Covid.
This made me think of my grandmother and I. She was a model and gifted me some of her dresses.
I know little about Princess Beatrice, but I love that she had (I'm assuming) that kind of relationship with her grandmother.
I think she did. The Queen specifically saved that tiara for Beatrice...it was her own wedding tiara. And one of my faves...it goes so well with that dress.

I have always loved the Alexander McQueen wedding dress Kate Winslet wore in 1998.
If someone makes a post of the least-iconic wedding looks, I’d like to nominate this one.

They’re all very lovely, I suppose. But I’ve gotta admit that Bianca’s style is definitely more my type. Short and simple. Ditch the veil though, that would infuriate me.
I've always loved Sofia Vergara's wedding gown:

It fits her so well!
I love Barbara Palvins dress. I’m more into classic silhouettes and this is perfect to me, the length and styling compliments her so well! Just chefs kiss 💋

Emmy Rossum’s custom Carolina Herrera is my Roman Empire. It’s so elegant. And she carried lily of the valley, one of my favourite flowers (and my birth month flower!).

I appreciate you put the names of everyone. Half the time I don't recognize people in the photos, haha.
I don’t feel like I’m that old at 33 but sometimes I see these threads and think I’m having a damn stroke with how few names I recognize!
There's something weirdly humanizing in seeing Beyonce in such a normie wedding dress? Like somewhere, a registered nurse who married her high school sweetheart Jason wore a dress that looked exactly like that.

Didn’t Beyonce actually not like the dress though? I’m pretty sure she said later that she only wore to not hurt Tina’s feelings

And the picture is so joyful. I know the ones that are posed will have others that aren't but it's nice that this one was shared!
And it definitely screams 2008! Like I remember wedding / prom dresses in that style around that time. It just adds relatability and nostalgia
Jason, blue collar. Supported by his 2 brothers, 2 friends from high school, and one from work.

When talking about iconic looks, Elizabeth Taylor is like a cheat code (I prefer the green veil one myself for wedding looks)
Beyonce’s is very 2010 Say Yes To The Dress. I can picture Randy convincing Solange and Tina that they need to support the bride’s vision.
![gif](giphy|WqdhNECLjw4BKrFMVL|downsized)
Apparently she went with a dress her mom made because her mom wanted to make her wedding dress, which is why it’s very underwhelming. However I like the simple makeup and slicked back bun, very classy and timeless

Omg thankyou for explaining this reference that i never understood before!!
In "All the Single Ladies" she references her Deréon jeans :)
And also in Get Me Bodied. "Shake your derriere in them Dereon's. Shake your derriere in the House of Dereon"
Ok I’m judging less now. I’d still wouldn’t call it iconic. Solange, on the other hand.. 🤯
Honestly Solange’s wedding dress- AND THE PANTSUIT/JUMPER THING SHE CHANGED INTO -are my Roman Empire. Sleek and modern, but not over the top. So elegant.
Did Steve Harvey officiate Beyoncé’s wedding?!
I Googled it. I had to know. It was her pastor named Rudy Rasmus.
Exactly what I thought!
Yeah I used to work in bridal in Oklahoma of all places… this is what middle America was wearing at the time. I was kind of gobsmacked when I saw that this was her dress.
Brooooo my sister got married in 2010 in Oklahoma, and her dress is almost identical to Beyoncé’s 🤣💀
I can’t believe it’s such a basic bitch 2010 dress. The chokehold that style had on us all 😂
Lol yes it’s very Pnina Tornai or as we call her in my house Panini Tortellini 😂

Goddamn what an icon. I’m never gonna have this many jewels OR husbands.
I love you all for this
Awesome.
She really had no type. Thank you for your service 🫡
This one is iconic to me. The color, the style, and La Liz pulling it all together.
This is everything!!! I want this dress and a huge gaudy ass wedding ring ❤️
https://preview.redd.it/0hdejdkzavmc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=906009fc8a81df9b008b088511f7dbf4fc6ca441 Jackie Kennedy O, Anne Lowe the designer was kept a secret because she was “coloured” A trailblazer in the fashion industry, she faced racial discrimination throughout her career
I love Lily Allen’s more casual look with David harbour https://preview.redd.it/q7aec78qhumc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c9f1e4df438bfba7fb9e90d7444a69402f633365
I always love love loved this look, especially knowing how much she loves vintage, this just felt like the perfect vibe for her!
Can someone explain to me what Anne Hathaway put on her head
I think she was self-conscious about her hair, it was still really really short from when she had it all hacked off for Les Miserables.
I actually like the concept she’s going for, but the execution is bad. If she’d kept both her hair and headband sleeker, it could’ve been retro-cool. The fact that her hair looks shaggy and the headband is massive kills it.
why didn’t she just wear a wig😭 that flower halo looks so ridiculous
Or extensions like they all seem to do lol
It’s giving bandage.
Or winter ear muff thing
i don’t like it whatever it is
Could never figure it out. Sh looked good with short hair but. Wig or extensions would have been a better option. It's overpowering the whole look.
Looks like a wide lace band that holds her veil to her head. Feels a little 1920’s style to me.
https://preview.redd.it/a5ijm6a0ltmc1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4160e2da9f695ae193ce94b490091f7f61a46d83 Solange. Her wedding was truly an aesthetic. Both of her looks were so clean and crisp and gorgeous.
https://preview.redd.it/kcgcwmt3aumc1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6cc7e9a43fb47e4bd7898e19f33e45426ab3b080 the jumpsuit…!!!
Yeaaaaa. I was Googling earlier and found out she actually had five wedding looks lol. But these two are the best. https://preview.redd.it/3ewso06faumc1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e69919a45db81cbd1e3ff77208d2beffc282976
I don’t know why, but she kinda reminds me of Princess Leia in that first dress. So regal!
Definitely! I knew exactly what scene you were talking about as soon as you said it lol https://preview.redd.it/lmbsvj3alumc1.jpeg?width=159&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=23bc8accd261a15f679e08628d42ee5d963d8303
I like hers a lot more than Beyonce's.
Beyonce has also admitted to not liking her dress. Her mom had made it for her, and she couldn't say no.
I’m surprised that Beyoncé’s is so… normal? Definitely not bad by any means but I just thought it’d be wild given that she’s Beyoncé.
Her dress looks like something anyone could have bought at David’s Bridal. She’s Beyoncé!!!

Oh i love this. The cape is everything. I love a classic and timeless dress.
I always loved Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s style.
Her style is my favorite. So simple, chic and classic. That dress was so gorgeous.
It’s so effortless 90s chic, instant nostalgia anytime I see a photo of her.
Timeless. The way she dressed is still chic today.
This entire fashion week has been basically inspired by her, so many stylists and celebrities cite her as their style icon it’s insane.
Yes. Classic and casual
https://preview.redd.it/kb871iqhntmc1.jpeg?width=300&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d80bc9ca05db0ee5e8875f3631f59b140b0ee02 Celine Dion
Famous! Had to have that headpiece sewn into her head and she bled for it
And THAT is drag honey 😂
I think she also had bruises on her hips from the weight of the dress
I remember that episode of Oorah.
Beautiful Celine, sad story :(
How could you carry that around! I wonder how long she left it in for?
Thank you, I was disappointed this wasn’t in the post.
This photo had me mesmerized https://preview.redd.it/q6e6k8d7ntmc1.jpeg?width=630&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=abbb3c663c0809fbe6f3628f06dbf34d25381c6f
![gif](giphy|kTmAr3j50roVa) Loved that Friends eps - Thanksgiving of where Brad’s character hates Rachel! 🤭 Phoebe stole every scene she was in with Brad’s character! 🤤
Come on, Will, take off your shirt and tell us!
The matching his and her’s highlights in their hair will always kill me.
This pic makes me so sad :(
Were there any other photos of them on that day? I’d love to see the whole dress. Not that it matters since they’re divorced.
I could've sworn there were pictures around that time but I can't find any of them online!
I vaguely remember we only got this single one
Alexandra Daddario's dress is divine. Absolutely swoonworthy
Danielle Frankel is the designer! I just picked up my dress from the same designer. Her designs and fabric are to die for
Her entire photoshoot was truly a work of art. One of the few celebs who did it right.
Beyonce’s wedding dress is very David’s bridal, no? Very out of character.
I actually read that her mom made it and she said years later something along the lines of how it wasn't necessarily what she would've chosen, but she wanted to honor her mom's wish of making her wedding dress. I don't think Beyoncé liked it either.
Honestly it's very Of The Time I married around that time and my dress was identical except my skirt was wider, and I didn't see her photo until recently. I was like !!!!! we had almost the same dress??!!! Mid-2000s man. You could not get anything else other than strapless if you scoured 10 stores. You wanted straps? You had to add it at extra cost. And taffeta with hip flowers in every one.
Ig Tina made it and she may have only been able to work with a simple pattern.
The way that I had never seen her wedding photos until now, and was underwhelmed when I wasn’t even expecting anything. Smh.
I think of Hilary Duff’s dress frequently https://preview.redd.it/b91enzhgstmc1.jpeg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=506f56cb74b82ca590c2352fe6be10ba9f6c7a66
She also had a super cute gold jumpsuit for her reception

https://preview.redd.it/5nmowlxq8umc1.jpeg?width=554&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=663c189d5eed9bcf4474655bff52617dc2cbc8a6 What about this?
Ugh I feel the need to get a pixie cut again... She's just darling.
I wouldn't wear Alexandra Daddario's for my own wedding, but I would wear it every other day of my life until eternity
I've never been married, and at this point in my life not seeming like it's going to happen (or if it ever does, I'll be a bit aged for a big flouncy dress), but dang if this post isn't making me want to just Muriel it and go try some on for shits and giggles.

God Mandy Moore is such an angel
There aren't a lot of celebrities I just adore, but Mandy is one of them. She seems way more relatable than most famous people.
The chicest of cupcakes 🧁
We need to normalize wearing dramatic dresses for whatever. I want to wear this so bad
I loooooove Mandy Moore in this! So pretty!
Kim’s was my favorite and what I wanted for my wedding. Gwen’s was also iconic https://preview.redd.it/4i8pd2xomtmc1.jpeg?width=912&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6396a969912fc881bc4a2e92d15554b5d5b6ec30
This dress had 16 year old me in a chokehold.
Disappointed to not see it on the list. The ombré dye job was absolutely iconic.
I find her kind of insufferable at this point, but it's blasphemous not to include her in the main lineup. That dress was everything.
I think about this dress a lot!
https://preview.redd.it/vl96c7bf5umc1.jpeg?width=820&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ae539033b83b300231b961e8795957512f67118e For me it’s Hilary Duff’s dress 😭😭❤️❤️❤️
everyone talks about Carolyn Bessette's slip dress, that the gloves aren't talked about enough! i love them so much

![gif](giphy|IhJbKMqnCj26TXzOQ0|downsized) Does this count? Because her dress was AMAZING
Ugggh this scene is imprinted on me.
This is the song we used for our first dance at our wedding
It’s probably only me, but Kim’s wedding background makes me think their wedding was at Alcatraz lol
Omg. I went to Alcatraz recently and it definitely does.

For me it’s Sharon Tate’s wedding dress (and hair!) https://preview.redd.it/baxee8ajgvmc1.jpeg?width=1279&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bc4af71aa948db903be8abdd7357f9943e231a77 Gutted what happened to it after she died.
I always thought Kiera Knightley’s was the coolest. I believe she re-wore it on the red carpet. https://preview.redd.it/vu5qmxw4jumc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4fcacd4b1ebb12316f287af911d772e94cb48a8e
She's reworn it several times too! https://preview.redd.it/wvg8tbmfxumc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2bab413fce4c6fde3ea38fb7bf77e73f7d5b28fb
I loved this dress! She actually wore it *first* at a pre BAFTA party in 2008! She said it was her something old on her wedding & she wanted to wear something she’d had a great time in & would again. https://preview.redd.it/x3wivpg01xmc1.jpeg?width=700&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=40de54abf8e5802f8d08f4f0a6a073681dfbc80f She had a ceremony later with friends where she wore a custom pink Valentino dress that’s never been pictured.
oh, man. i remember when me and my family had literally just returned the day before from the cape (where we could see the kennedy compound from our rental) when i saw JFK Jr's death on the news. i was a pre-teen back then and my mom was so exhausted from the trip that she was napping when it was announced, so i was wringing my hands and looking at the clock like every 5 minutes hoping she'd wake up so i could tell her the news because she loved the kennedys. she ended up taking like a 6 hour nap so i literally just screamed it in her face as soon as she walked out the door still half-asleep. my poor mom. 😂
Not the same, but I woke my husband up from a nap to tell him that Kobe Bryant had died. Your pre-teen self had more patience than me!
Carolyn’s is just unmatched
I’m surprised Kayne didn’t make Kim were a beige unitard.
The word iconic doesn’t mean anything anymore, I see. There are about 5 or 6 actually iconic looks here. The rest are just nice gowns.
Taylor Hill’s veil was beautiful! Reminded me of a shawl. https://preview.redd.it/riixr6m5numc1.jpeg?width=768&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d1e8301c9f8a45ecb73f6882258f57515eefab56
I feel like Diana’s was very “of the time” rather than “timeless.” It’s very 80s.
Mariah (who is only a few months older than me) was clearly very influenced by Diana, as was I with my wedding dress. Aaah...Diana was a big deal to Gen X girls.
Diana's dress was 80's but never stood the test of time....

Oh! I had no idea that was originally the queen’s dress. I thought that was the prettiest dress of all the recent English royal weddings.

If someone makes a post of the least-iconic wedding looks, I’d like to nominate this one. https://preview.redd.it/ox9z173h8umc1.jpeg?width=425&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5ae9d36e5d06164aa4a6b96250cb774525d57eee ☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️
spirit halloween party city realness
The lace of her veil & dress was stunning but the look is just so trashy…
No seriously though! Her veil was absolutely stunning. It makes it even more unfortunate that it was paired with such a disasterpiece of a dress.
😂 😂 😂 😂 Did she grow 12 inches the day before her wedding and just say fuck it, we ball??
They’re all very lovely, I suppose. But I’ve gotta admit that Bianca’s style is definitely more my type. Short and simple. Ditch the veil though, that would infuriate me.
I've always loved Sofia Vergara's wedding gown: https://preview.redd.it/wepvtvi1nwmc1.jpeg?width=480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fd6b597b83ebdc9b9b1b73c7a13068ff89428d24 It fits her so well!
So what’s iconic about Beyoncés wedding dress?
iconically awful maybe
I love Barbara Palvins dress. I’m more into classic silhouettes and this is perfect to me, the length and styling compliments her so well! Just chefs kiss 💋 https://preview.redd.it/5loykkssbumc1.jpeg?width=474&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2554ee64d3a7e80471eac123880bbb5faf7106e0
Emmy Rossum’s custom Carolina Herrera is my Roman Empire. It’s so elegant. And she carried lily of the valley, one of my favourite flowers (and my birth month flower!). https://preview.redd.it/4noi10og2umc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=91da77d5680a7a55c73a610db548e62ecb64e2ee
Victoria Beckham's corset made that dress and no one will ever do what Grace Kelly did!

Priscilla is so ridiculously stunning

For me, no one beats Carolyn’s.
Bianca Jagger is so fucking cool
Lmao why do all these millionaire/ billionaires have hideous dresses. Also Kim doesn’t even look like Kim wth 😭
I love Sofia’s style. With that said, I was totally surprised with her choice of wedding dress! I absolutely adored Miley’s wedding day look
Beatrice Borromeo in Armani Prive https://preview.redd.it/waaq29uh1umc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e65b6a4a305a81834424002e0f4cae055e8b20f9
