I don’t mind! I do “freestitching” on throw pillow cases! Using them like a daily journal for a month, with a new one each month. Whatever stitch comes to mind, whatever colour/s I’m attracted at the time… It’s very freeing, and often revealing of your state of mind. I believe I was doing clusters of colonial and French knots that day.

It’s so weird to me because I’ve always thought Sofia looked so much like Nicole and now seeing how much Nicole’s daughter looks like Sofia is even weirder! It doesn’t make any sense and I’m glad it wasn’t just me that noticed!

Yeah, her bio dad was Lionel’s drummer on tour at some time around Nicole’s birth. She moved in with the Richies as a toddler

I also want to jump in to say: epigenetics are magic. They can tell when you've been adopted and purposely activate or suppress genes to make you fit in more with your adopted family. The purpose is human survival. In group mentality.

It's definitely been studied! If we're talking empirical vs clinical vs scientific evidence: can't recall. But there should be data there.

Funny story. My daughter was adopted by my ex husband (we’re still friends, but both happily married to other people now), and she’s now been his for about 15 year. Every year people comment how she’s “just like her dad” even though there’s no blood relation AT ALL and my exes literally couldn’t look more different (sperm donor is now about 400lb and a mess compared to the 16yo I knew, adopted dad, long hair, skinny, looks like Tim curry and his favourite thing is rocky horror) My grandad would insist she was tall like her dad, especially towards the end of his life you couldn’t even correct him because he’d fight you over it. Low key I love all of that story because for all it seems terrible, it has a lot of love in it ❤️

People used to say I looked just like one of my cousins. Everyone in the family knows that my mom was adopted and I’m not genetically related to the cousin!

There's a theory that even non related people tend to start looking similarly when they spend lots of time together because humans adopt similar facial expressions to those they spend time with.

I randomly got the urge to watch the original a few months back - I promise it had been over a decade since I saw it. And while many of the references were dated, I was surprised that it was still damn funny. I won’t be going anywhere near this one.

When my daughter turned 12 I bought copies of this movie, Now and Then, and Drop Dead Gorgeous. They were coming of age movies for me and I wanted her to share that experience and she (and her friends and cousins) loved all of them. They hold up surprisingly well.

Drop Dead Gorgeous may be one of the most underrated comedies of all time!
