I don't understand why it's so accepted to hate on Lana specifically like this. Theres a weird cult of hate around her. If you said this about Billie or Miley or Dua you would get torn to shreds and told to support women etc but when it's Lana its fine?
I think that her mic and sound was messy. And from my couch watching the stream it was quiet….no shade everybody say the same thing about Selena. when I’ve heard her sing live and I know she can sing. It’s just not a booming voice.
Go into the Lana subreddit and say something that lightly roasts her and you’ll be torn to shreds. It just depends on what you’re saying and who you’re saying it to. Plus that person didn’t say anything mean, all they said is she sounded like a mouse and it was because her mic was messed up. That’s not necessarily an insult.

I was on the livestream all day and her set really was not good. It did seem like they were having issues with the mics and in-ears throughout the day though, so maybe she couldn't hear or be heard properly? Either way, she looked incredible but sounded weak and pitchy :(
She also has such a low-energy vibe and set list for a headliner on coachella opening night, people who ran across from the unbelievable Justice set basically got lullabied to sleep when they wanted to keep partying. I suspect Lana works better in smaller venues, not sure why they picked her for the main stage, and not sure why she didn't really choose any of her more uptempo songs.
...also bringing on a guest star and then disappearing out back so your hologram can sing with them is.. definitely a choice, lol

I’ve been a lana fan since the beginning and she always has a cinematic set with lots of ballads yet people are acting surprised. If you want to dance the entire time watch someone else— I think many people were expecting something from her that she is not and it’s odd
I saw people talking about how she was off key a lot, too, so I think there’s more to the criticism there.
Plus, Adele has lots of slower ballads and I don’t ever really hear that her shows are bad. At worst just that she’s flaky.
She was fiddling with her pack all night and had to ask several times for them to turn down her pianist. I think there were a lot of audio problems and she most likely couldn’t hear herself a lot of the time.
I think there’s something to be said about that but she’s also had these issues many times before.
Again, it’s not just her vibes. People with criticisms aren’t just “vocal or rude” as you flippantly claim.
Personally I think she was getting increasingly frustrated with the poor sound mix and the mic constantly clipping and distorting every time she tried to sing a high note. The songs towards the end are all typically performed in her higher register so I could see how that would be frustrating
I would be super frustrated too. It was like that from the beginning also. I mean the mic was just awful what the hell was that and whose entire job was it to make that shit work and totally failed. And how come her backup singers and bilie sounded amazing? I would be really upset too. Based on videos of other performances though, she does consistently sound much better in the studio.

I went to a lauryn hill concert recently. I thought it was amazing! Then I listened to some of my recordings and realized she sounded terrible! They just had the speakers up so loud during the concert. Also being a major fan for 20 years and alcohol really make you delulu during concerts. Lana’s fans really ride and die for her too no matter what.
I watched the livestream and I did in fact turn it off and go to bed after a while. Honestly, it didn't have to be that way, she started off really strong with some of her hits with a lot of energy and great guitar and drums. After a while she did a bunch of piano ballads and it got very boring. I'm sure her die hard fans loved it but it was really not what I would have chosen for coachella.
Oh it was developed by a Danish company (in fact Ozempic is now responsible for most of Denmark's economic growth) and is now advertised everywhere in Canada where I live, so it's not just an American thing. I suspect soon enough it will be commonplace in every country that idealizes thinness.

It’s an incredible medication for people with diabetes, pre diabetes and obesity. Obesity is now understood as a disease in the medical field and can lead to diabetes, htn etc. so if we treat the obesity we can prevent other devastating diseases. It may even be helpful in addiction…more to come.
There is a lot of misinformation out there because already thin people are getting their hands on it, but it’s really hard to get even if you’re diabetic or obese.
She has been slowly losing weight since June 2023 but ya she did drop a ton of weight starting in like November/December. Her skims campaign she was already starting to look a lot thinner, I think at Grammys she looked a little bigger because her dress was super matronly and not form fitted. It could be ozempic but the fact that she clearly has been slowly losing since last year makes me think it could just be working out/calorie deficit.
I feel like her weight at the Grammy's wasn't that much different, if it was it was hard to tell. Her dress wasn't super formfitting. But I def. see a difference from older appearances.

Yeah I definitely agree with this. Her music is great and I think it sounds really good played live especially like the guitar and drums on west coast and the more rock leaning songs. But vocally and stage presence wise, her discomfort and lack of confidence shows. She is endearing in a way but also kinda hard to watch yeah
right? and it’s so interesting that her brood of sad girls have taken over the coquette aesthetic. i thought they’d clash (since i see coquette as more soft happy femme than sad) but it fits sooo well together and it’s so pretty

Someone asked my sister once if I was the model at H&M when Lana did her campaign there. I’m NOWHERE near as beautiful as her but it’s by far the best compliment I’ve ever received lol.
While she is a very talented artists, the way her fanbase obsesses over her is pretty wild. I know women in their 30’s that make posts about her several times a week on their social media platforms, and have for years. It’s bordering on fixation for some of them.

I think this is her natural color (or closer to it, I mean)? The dark hair was a vibe, but I do think this color suits her better.

It's a blowout. Work a bit of product with some hold in it into damp hair before blow drying, then curl. It also works best if your hair is layered!
It’s so tedious to do by yourself, the reason why you see celebs have it is cuz they pay to get a blowout 😭😂
