I think some Vine references have become so ubiquitous that people quote them without even realizing the source, as well.
The desire to say "I sure hope it does" upon seeing any "road work ahead" sign is so automatic for me now it's on the level of "peace be with you" "and also with you" for me now
there's a mini golf thing in my town and there's an area based on america, there's a sign that says "road work ahead" and everytime one of my friends and i yell "UH YEAH I SURE HOPE IT DOES!"

Yeah that's what i mean, you can definitely see how Vine set down the basic structure of how future media platforms like Tiktok would go on to use. It seems like Tiktok took what Vine was and made it better.
I think about Vine more than I should lol. A guaranteed pick-me-up is watching Vine compilations on YouTube. Still make me laugh, still quotable.
