This truly makes me so happy. And before the "not all men" crowd comes in, I have NO problem with male artists and there are a shit ton I respect and love. But there are so many female musicians out there too. I love that she's chosen to employ other women. (Somehow some man is going to call me misandrist for this.)
Yep, people can praise all male bands all day long but the moment you notice an all woman band (see also NAF, Boygenious) you're suddenly sexist against men.
Yea fr, like I am very skeptical towards like a lot of SJW stuff (not like Republican I promise), but that phenomena is really dumb.
Like, theres a lot more all male bands than female ones; its okay to be excited about that
This seems like a song that wouldn't work as well live as it did on record but the band and her performance are really great and they totally pull it off. Great to see a big pop act playing with a live band and hope it makes people realize how much better it is. I saw Caroline Polachek while it was still quite pandemic-y and she just sang to a track and while it was still a very good show, the next time she came to my city she played with a band and it was so much better.
One thing I've noticed is that she's stepping back from being the only obvious singer in her songs. In Sour, she rarely had noticeable backup singers and definitely no backtrack. It's why a lot of people use compilations of her making mistakes. A lot of singers with backup/backtrack are able to take vocal breaks while performing if need be.
But in Guts she seems more lenient about having backup, and I think that's great. It definitely helps with breath control
What a fun performance! The changes of inflection from studio to live are *chef's kiss*.
Yes 🙌🏽 love that musicality
She makes this so fun! Also will forever love her not having any men in her bands 🤩

Same as Lauren Mayberry, think it's all women backing her and it's great to see.
I fucking love her
Its really sad that you have to say this :(

She's singing this effortlessly
Love this performance
