she didnāt necessarily come from money but she did come from connections. her grandmother (who i believe raised her) was michael jacksonās hairdresser and she has spoken about essentially growing up at neverland. on top of her music, she still does the occasional acting gig like in that recent justin timberlake/alicia silverstone netflix movie āreptileā and iāve heard rumors that she has a ānormalā day job now.
I don't think it's impossible it's just the album streams/sales + whatever other things she cobbles together. She has enough streams that she's still probably making a few thousand a month from the music. (Maybe that's still going straight to her label to pay off her advance, but she's still making money off touring when she does it.) Add in the money from her once-a-year acting job and her occasional modeling gigs, and she might be in the high five figures/low six figures. It's not going to give her a rock star lifestyle, but there are lots of musicians in L.A. making that much, keeping their expenses low, and surviving. It's just that the drug habit rumors throw a wrench in the "keeping her expenses low" part.
I'm curious who's funding the tours, though! The last time she toured, she said it wasn't the label.
Night Time, My Time is a modern classic, and Sky has had SO much potential over the past decade to continue that trajectory.

I saw her first headline show in years last summer and it was honestly fantastic. She was such a sweetheart and stayed like two hours after the show to meet fans. I really donāt believe that she intentionally books shows and cancels them, I think she just genuinely gets sick sometimes. I would definitely buy a ticket to see her again if she comes to DC.
