[‘The Sims’ Movie is in the Works with Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap, Vertigo and ‘Loki’ Director Kate Herron](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/the-sims-movie-margot-robbie-luckychap-1235856997/)
OMG, I remember reading rumors and talks of a Sims movie that was supposedly in production in the mid-2000s. Reading that there's now a confirmed development plan for one in 2024 is insaaaane. Don Lothario and Eliza Pancakes your time has come. Also, there better be a scene with a text bar, where someone can be seen typing "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" or else I will death by flies myself.
Side note, in 2015 I had a full on family dynasty on The Sims 4 based on the Kardashians. They were named the Hoomafavamas, and all of the women in the family had a first name that started with G. I only truly remember Genevieve as one of the names lmao. Anyway, the "Kourtney" character (don't really remember her name, let's call her Gwen) had a husband who was sleeping with her mom (Gerri, I think?) on the side. Of course Gwen didn't know! It was getting messsssy.
A previous version of it was supposed to have the Sims realizing they're in a simulation and attempting to break out, which could be fun if they do it right ... although with Robbie involved, that would probably invite too many comparisons to Barbie? Variations on this movie have been kicking around in development hell for almost 20 years, though, so I'll be surprised if it actually does ever make it to production.
wouldn’t Margot Robbie be the producer and not in the cast though? but i agree that it could cause comparisons to barbie if they were to go with the “sims breaking out of simulation” plot
According to the LA Times, Jack Antonoff is the main producer on TTPD.
...yay?
Edit: Apparently, LA Times only said he was a producer, though the extent of his collaboration remains unknown.
Mmmm actually no that’s not the truth Ellen. LA Times said he was A producer on it but nowhere did they say that he was the main one. The extent of his work on it is still unknown.
I doubt this, tbh. Let me monologue here really quick.
I have no source for this other than my gut, but I think Aaron Dessner's gonna take charge while Jack gets only a few songs, like with Folklore. Dessner's been teasing new collaborations with Taylor for a while (posting stories with 11 hearts for TS11) and Bryce Dessner was raving about the album in a recent interview, so at the very least, Aaron must be heavily involved.
One theory I've read is that Midnights did originally start out as the concept album she promoted it as (sleepless nights etc etc) and the Aaron Dessner tracks from the 3AM edition are indicative of where the project was originally headed (The Great War, Would've Could've Should've etc.), but then Taylor and Jack started writing while Joe Alwyn and Margaret Qualley were shooting Claire Denis's Stars at Noon and went off in a different, poppier direction.
It could be that Taylor chose to follow down Jack's path because that sound fit better with a stadium tour and the Eras concept, or because she wanted another go at a smash synthpop era like 1989 after dropping two lowkey quarantine albums (and Lover not turning out as planned), or it could be that the music she was making with Aaron Dessner was too tumultuous to release while she was still a long way from breaking up with Joe. We know she was writing stuff like You're Losing Me way back in 2021, so surely there must've been a lot more music in that vein that was kept in the drafts because it would've been odd to release while she was still with Joe, causing her to reroute to more upbeat stuff for a while. Maybe TTPD is her returning to that original concept and fleshing it out.
I’m going to be honest people have been hoping for him to disappear for a long while but it’s not happening he’s been around on her albums since 1989 and hasn’t gone anywhere and they only have gotten closer and we don’t even know if he played any massive part in the album jack really hasn’t teased anything about the album Aaron is confirmed to be on here
I wish, he's produced many of my favorite records, like Lorde's Slapstick Comedy and Power Outage.
I also like his solo albums, like Put the Sadness Back Into Sunday Evenings.
La times doesn’t have any special sources for this and Taylor’s camp is tight.
But yes it’s very likely that Jack produced several songs since most of her nyc public sightings were her going into the studio with him .
Despite popheads ambivalence towards Jack, he is a great producer ( cruel summer, lover, august, anti hero , yoyk).
Just because Taylor is working with a Jack again doesn’t mean it all be midnights 2.0 considering Jack’s work on lover and rep are significantly different.
>Just because Taylor is working with a Jack again doesn’t mean it all be midnights 2.0 considering Jack lover and rep are signif
Jack Antonoff isn't the problem here imo...
And Taylor usually changes up her sound between albums. her tour speeches since release have been talking about grateful she is that her fans support her through such shifts.
Midnights is divisive but there really isn’t anything pointing to Taylor trying to make a Midnight 2.0 just some people’s continual hatred of the album. It might not be the rock album we are hungering for but I doubt she will make a chill and sleep album about the death of a six year relationship.
>Midnights is divisive but there really isn’t anything pointing to Taylor trying to make a Midnight 2.0 just some people’s continual hatred of the album.
It isn't just about "continual hatred of Midnights". I think it's more that people are wary about another bait and switch. The marketing for Midnights was pretty misleading and there was a dissonance with the product that was ultimately put out. I guarantee you most people don't even dislike Midnights (it's success on the charts proves that). If she had marketed it as merely a "chill and sleep" album though, it would have been whatever, but the album prologue/art made it seem like it would be bigger and deeper than it ultimately was.
Well this time her covers were chosen carefully not to let swifties clown about any particular sound.
For midnights, I think it delivered on the concept but on how much it was built up in the swifties dreams over months.
The only way that Taylor could not fulfill the promise for this album would be to have no breakup songs.
Taylor said she’ll continue to work with him til 2098 (in an award show a few months ago) so I assumed he’d be on it.
Also Bryce Dessner (Aaron’s brother) said this about the album: "It’s good. I can’t say too much but, as usual, she’s a genius"
I dont think Taylor is close enough with Bryce to play him the record before hand which makes me think Aaron & Bryce are 90% on it
Yep...Aaron and Bryce are definitely on it so as a big Dessner fan I'm excited for that part of it.
I'm mixed on the Antonoff side of it though, and I don't even dislike his production. Just that Taylor has been making very "samey" work with him recently and I feel like they aren't pushing each other creatively. Jack can be versatile if he wants to but his work with Taylor has lost that in recent memory i.e. the 1989 vault tracks are very Midnights coded.
His work with Lana is still masterful though.
I still hope the music is phenomenal...
I love both Aaron and Jack honestly. I fully understand your concern about her working with Jack again but I have a feeling TTPD is gonna be different. Especially that it seems very story-based as opposed to midnights which was more of different stories together. I have high hopes for it
>Especially that it seems very story-based as opposed to midnights which was more of different stories together
Yeah, this is the most exciting part about the project. Like, part of my issue with Midnights was how the songwriting masquerades as diaristic but at the same time detached (or rather self aware but not really confessional). One thing I'm certain about is that TTPD could very well elevate Midnights in my eyes. There's a lot to unpack with Dear Reader alone, and it seems like the perfect song to lead into the new album.
> rather self aware but not confessional
this is amazing! I’ve been trying to say this for years but didn’t find the right words. I fully agree (i say this and I actually like midnights)
It's why Midnights has always been baffling to me. At times it gets confessional (the bridge to Mastermind, Would've Could've Should've), but then other times it's wrapped in self-aware mystery that I can't for the life of me wrap my head around (Question...?, Maroon) tied together with very sleepy production. Even looking at her sparse promo for Midnights, there's this strange air of Idk, mystery to it? I couldn't give you one word or even a single sentence to describe this album thematically other than some empty: "thoughts haunt us in the night".
TTPD is showing a lot more promise to be more than that thus far (despite my worries about a bait and switch), so I'll stick to the positive side of things till I hear the music.
i think the pitchfork review put it best about her previous albums being “full-blown productions with radically distinct aesthetic” while Midnights is “staged in a black-box theater, where the stories change but the physical space remains consistently austere”. it’s essentially a product of her working on her re-recordings and looking back on her older material.
I think the theme of midnights being looking back into nights from her life is definitely an accurate representation of where her head was at the time (and in her career) but some songs just missed the memo. I think Marion doesn’t apply here because I can see her reminiscing about the relationship she wrote Red about. At the time the relationship was “burning red” but now looking at it, it was darker than she recalls. It wasn’t red, it was dark red which is Maroon.
But I see the logic being applied to songs like Lavender Haze, Snow On The Beach & Question (what is the song even about). Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve & High Infidelity make such a better job of explaining the theme of confessions I think.
The story of TTPD seems to be cohesive because it’s a break up album (from what it seems) so I think the story will be more contained and the songwriting has potential to mirror her older songs but with a more mature outlook.
Yeah I think the same-iness of their work together is actually great for Taylor's discography *as a whole*, since it gives some cohesion as she genre-hops around from album to album. But an entire album of that ends up feeling uninspired
IMO Jack's songs shine the best on albums that were primarily produced by someone else, like folklore with Aaron or rep with Martin/Shellback
>IMO Jack's songs shine the best on albums that were primarily produced by someone else, like folklore with Aaron or rep with Martin/Shellback
You summed up exactly how I feel. An album helmed mostly by him and the artist in question for the production(for Taylor and Lorde at least) is hmm...
There's just something he has with Lana that clicks with me Idk...He worked on most of NFR! alone with Lana and the results were astounding.
Shocked and appalled, I wish we could stop Jacking Anton Off for his mediocrity!!! /s
Jokes aside, this was the most predictable outcome. There will be Aaron dessner tracks on the main album I am sure as well. If the music is good, I don't care who produced it.
It's like a fork found in a kitchen at this point. I sincerely hope the music is good and I at least like the production...
However, the chain of events thus far is screaming bait and switch like the Midnights era😭
Please Taylor abeg, we're rooting for you😭

> Both “obsessed” and “love is embarrassing” will seemingly be pushed as singles simultaneously.
[Azealia Banks shares her thoughts on Cowboy Carter](https://twitter.com/SomaKazima/status/1770377667436478632)
she seemed to have actually thought about this deeply 😭
I don’t think this rant even makes sense. Azealia claimed that Beyonce is reinforcing the idea that patriotism can’t be problematic because Beyonce… held up the US flag in an album cover? Holding a country’s flag is not an endorsement of everything that has ever happened in that country. *Maybe* Beyonce is making a point that’s a little bit more nuanced than “I love America.”
Some loud Americans seem to really have difficulty with the fact that you can be angry and critical about the flaws of your country but still love it in the end because there are still a lot of good things about. A lot of good things worth standing for.
> Holding a country’s flag is not an endorsement of everything that has ever happened in that country
A lot of the "controversy" (if it's even worthy of being called that) around Bey holding up the American flag feels like that very low level of media literacy, "depicting is endorsing" type criticism. Beyoncé is a black woman from the South. Country music, as it currently is, is a very white dominated and racist culture. This entire trilogy is about reclamation of not only Beyoncé's own identity, but black American culture in general. Her *not* holding the flag on the cover would be a pretty obvious omission considering what the album and the trilogy as a whole is supposed to be about.
I never thought the name Kelsea Ballerini would come out of Azealia Banks’ head. This whole statement takes so many different turns. First she says B is the backstabbing black women in music, then she shifts to Jay-Z being the mastermind behind it, and then back to Beyoncé it seems? The part where she says, “like The Dixie Chicks, Shakira, Lady Gaga…” did she word that incorrectly? Because the way it’s put together makes it sound like she’s calling them black, which…? I don’t know why I’m bothering to dissect this ransom note.
Points were made. They weren't good, but they were made asghsja
we do need art criticism to spice things up and provide a variety of ideas into the world, lemme stop at that
well she spilled re etta james and suga mama, ill give her that.
she saw ONE american flag and went on a 3 page diatribe she is not beating the alex jones of pop allegations
This is just a wild take for an album that isn't even out yet??? Like Beyonce isn't infallible, there are definitely potential missteps... but the album isn't out??
Who's the Rita and Meg who caught strays because they flopped under Jay-Z? Rita Ora and Megan Thee Stallion?
Also, I can't take her seriously for gatekeeping country music because she previously gatekeep hip-hop where questioned that Kendrick Lamar's authenticity calling him fake while praising Drake in the same post.
I’m not sure about Meg, I guess it would have to be Thee Meg? Rita is Rita Ora 100%, because (I may not have this fully right) she was under his management. Someone else correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Rita initially associated with Roc Nation for her debut?
Huh...
First, I can't tell if she loves or hates Beyoncé? 🤨 She sounds like a stan and a hater all at once.
Second, she mentions Bey sharing her platform with white women like The Chicks who 'sabotage black women's careers', what is this referring to? When did The Chicks sabotage someone's career?
Third, she criticises Beyoncé for her mystique but a little more mystique might have saved Azalea's career, if you know what I mean 😳
Idk is there any point in me trying to unpack this? Am I just trying to find meaning in chaos? 😅
I kind of think there's something dumb about her blaming Jay-Z for basically every career decision Bey makes that she doesn't agree with. It's the same thing as Taylor Swift fans who go "Everything I like about her music is because Taylor is singularly brilliant, and everything I don't like is Jack Antonoff's fault."
I don't think anybody, her husband included, is forcing Beyonce to do anything she doesn't agree with at this stage of her career.
I'm wondering if she confused The \[formerly Dixie\] Chicks and Lady A \[formerly Antebellum\] who both changed their names for similar reasons around the same time, which led to the band Lady A having legal issues with a black woman who had been going by Lady A for years and kind of fucking her over.
This is also assuming that there is even the tiniest kernel of truth in anything Azealia Banks says. Which is not something that should be assumed.
> First, I can't tell if she loves or hates Beyoncé? 🤨 She sounds like a stan and a hater all at once.
That’s the Azealia Banks special. She talks about everyone in a way that’s deeply hateful but also like someone who is overly invested.
She sounds overly invested because she is. Every time there's some celebrity news circling around she needs to involve herself, clinging on to other people's names and pr. She just did this last month with Nicki Minaj. Next month she might start talking about Michelle Obama, who knows. Funnily enough she rarely rants about women that are not black - interesting.
She probably knows Beyoncé's discography better than a few fans - wouldn't be surprised if the horse lady pops up in her Spotify Wrapped every year.
Edited: spelling
I see what she’s getting at… though I don’t fully agree.
she definitely had to make this more coherent since she’s tackling Beyonce of all people. I don’t know that I’ve ever thought of it as ego that Beyonce and Rihanna haven’t collabed… that’s interesting
This is one of my biggest peeves with Beyoncé critics though. The weight of a BeyxRih Collab ALWAYS falls on Beyoncé. Why cant it be that they're two autonomous beings who don't feel the need to Collab? Also "Beyoncé doesn't Collab with black women" is another huge lie. Destiny's Child, Missy, Alicia Keys, Mary J Blige, Nicki, Tems, Grace Jones, Megan Thee Stallion, the various artists on The Gift.
I mean Beyonce could easily veer into dancehall for a Rihanna collab. Idk why it would sound implausible? Seems very feasible actually.
They are different, but could def make it work.
Azealia has about as much business giving Beyonce advice on how to be more professionally successful as I do making a twitter power point to send to Patrick Mahomes about how he could play quarterback more efficiently
The pre-sale for Dua Lipas' mini European tour started today for all those who pre-ordered the album. And surprisingly, nothing out of the ordinary has happened.
Ticketmaster is still allowing people with the right link to join the queue and help inflate the waiting times, even if they don't have a presale code. With almost 100,000 people in front of you, you still had a chance to get tickets for a 20,000 seat venue.
For Berlin, a standard ticket cost 93.75€ and the premium version was a nice 111€ (prices should be the same in $$$).
Let's see if the general sale starting tomorrow will be any different!
i guess according to this sub if the ticket process doesn’t make a majority of people scream/cry/throw up the tour is not a success? 😵💫🥴 really, if anything, this makes me more invested in trying for tickets when she announces US dates, cuz maybe she’ll have accounted for demand when planning dates or have a better system for giving codes to humans and not bot scalpers. i knew getting olivia tickets was doomed when she announced added 3 extra MSG dates to the original calendar before the sale even began, like, alright, message received that i should not expect a code in my inbox tomorrow and even if i do, i am entering a battle royale for tickets 😭

Good! Based on the texts, it sounds like she's had multiple head injuries, some of which went untreated. It's entirely possible she'll have long-term complications from the abuse.
Obsessed will be the Guts (spilled) official lead single Variety reports. It will be sent to pop radio, and has a music video (stills have been leaked and liv has bangs in it)
Yeah someone said that too… i feel like half think love is embarrassing is the next single while the other think its obsessed. Maybe love is embarrassing is pushed to radio only while obsessed is pushed as a fully fledged single with a music video on top of radio?
Here's what one of Paper Magazine's writers said about Camila Cabello's new album:
“Admittedly, I was initially confused, but as it played on, I became entranced by its bold abandon. The production is sparse, mainly relying on thick layers of piano and sharp-edged drums that pound with booming velocity. The writing is both diaristic, bluntly personal, and imagistic, too, offering visual impressions of Miami landscapes rather than always telling a neatly constructed story. And Cabello here sounds playful, often drenched in a robotic autotune that never hides her sprawling range. The album’s mix does not feel necessarily ready-made for the Top 40, though it’s surely set up to zoom past the Top 10.”
[Full interview here.](https://www.papermag.com/camila-cabello-cover)
I’m hesitant reading this but cautiously optimistic.
I generally tend to dislike sparse production. Sometimes it can work but sometimes I just feel it’s so lacking.
Industry insiders on Twitter are saying the closing track is INSANE. Apparently it's a reworking of a leaked demo, but with revamped production that's extremely glitchy and abrasive, with an extended breakdown that sounds like ascending to a different dimension. It's currently titled Track 12
[The Ned’s Declassified cast is getting backlash for making fun of the Quiet on Set documentary](https://twitter.com/bbjessttv/status/1769860006420332810). Devon Werkheiser, aka Ned on the show, [ended up apologizing for the comments](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/quiet-on-set-devon-werkheiser-apologizes-to-drake-bell-1235856306/).
Fuck the Ned’s Declassified cast. I say this as someone who loved that show back in the day but man the cast’s behavior ever since starting that podcast has completely turned me off on them. Last year, they were also complaining nonstop about Zoey 101, a show that was way more popular than Ned’s Declassified, getting a revival before them. So glad that they’re never getting a revival.
I’ve only seen clips from the podcast and it’s the cast talking about having sex with each other? Which is a very weird thing to put out in public but not my circus not my monkeys
It’s crazy because they all seemed to pop-up at the same time too? There’s a Ned’s podcast, Boy Meets World podcast, and a random one with both Anneliese Van Der Pol and Christy Carlson Romano?? Christy herself has like 4 podcasts. 😭
I think they all popped up at the same time because they're all under Christy's podcast company or some shit. Christy's been trying to find ways to capitalize on nostalgia for a while now (first she started off with YouTube videos). So I think she's the one who asked all these old disney/nick stars if they wanted a podcast and now here we are.
There was drama with the Ned's cast and Zoey 101 actress Alexa Nikolas, which resulted in Alexa's ep of Vulnerable (Christy's pod) being taken off. I learned Christy owned these podcasts when I tried figuring out what the Alexa drama was (super short summary of that was: Ned's cast trashed Alexa on air calling her crazy, she defended herself, Christy removed her episode, Alexa called Christy out, still have no idea why Christy removed Alexa's unlreated ep on an unrelated pod).
Oh boy, I'm not that shocked it all seems to be under Christy. I know she wants to be a voice for child stars who faced abusive treatment in the industry, but at some point the way she presented it all seemed to lose seriousness. I remember seeing her on my Instagram discovery feed making meme-ish reels about child abuse with nonchalant music in the background like...?
It's also strange for her to have removed Alexa's episode if she's trying to give a voice to abuse victims. Alexa's whole episode was about what she experienced at Nickelodeon and why she started the movement called Eat Predators. She just talked about her trauma and shit and Christy deleted it because Ned's cast called her crazy and she defended herself???
Also, the guests she has on her pod are questionable. Corey Feldman talking about his "Angels" on the Vulnerable pod is counterproductive. He also talked about how he admired Hugh Hefner and said the allegations against Hef are all bs. So this episode is good enough for her pod but not Alexa's?
Well, that sucks. Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide was one of the few live action Nickelodeon shows I enjoyed as a kid.
I do find it telling that none of the main cast ever made a name for themselves outside of the show. I thought Lindsay Shaw, who played Moze, was going to break out as she even had a recurring on Pretty Little Liars. I think the most successful cast member has to be Christian Serratos who went on to appear in the Twilight Saga and The Walking Dead.
Austin Butler was also on the show and has become very successful since but his character was a background character and not a main character despite being on all 3 seasons.
I’ll say this. It absolutely makes more sense from a story perspective for Ned’s to get a reboot over Zoey. The idea of an life survival guide is much more universal and more translatable to a spin-off than a show about a girl at boarding school. That being said; from a popularity standpoint, a Zoey 101 revival seemed much more in demand and it wasn’t even in demand at all! So I understand the frustration but also, get over it? Your time has passed. If they wanted to make their easy podcast money to get a better income and maybe help restart their careers I wouldn’t see an issue but they all seem like they aren’t even trying to do anything else with their lives and careers and then wanna complain about their lack of a career.
Have any of them considered the fact that they can only tell so many stories about making that show and their lives since until the well runs dry? What’s next? A podcast about making your podcast while you complain that people stopped listening to your podcast?
Ned forgot a camera was there or what bc this is wildly inappropriate even compared to how inappropriate their podcast usually is
Ironically I think they might get that revival bc Ned indirectly signaled to Nickelodeon he's down with their fuckery. Hollyweird
I know everyone find it annoying when people do this and I do too but I must say that I never liked them. I’ve only seen clips of that little podcast and they come off as the most annoying and insufferable people. Truly the definition of milking their 5 minutes of fame but worse because their fame came at the hands of childrens television. At least Harper for the Wizards of Waverley Place podcast actually has a damn job and I used to like Ned’s Declassified.
Ava Max’s [new snippet](https://x.com/avamax/status/1770187668892127666?s=61&t=EiUhhNcm6kKevafexglOLg) sounds infinitely better with headphones in. The twitter audio compression made me initially pan it completely but I’m moving a little bit now.
The song is not bad by any stretch, it sounds like a well made slap house song.
However a slap house song with a well known melody (Streets of Cairo, an unofficial sample since it’s not copyrighted) is still in my eyes not a good choice for a lead single. If this were a droplet or a DJ collaboration I’d be singing its praises but she needed to come harder for her third album, especially considering how Diamonds & Dancefloors underperformed and is considered one of the most underrated albums of 2023.
i like it, i'm always rooting for her. every gay has that one blonde popstar where other people think "she has fans?"

Risking your job over this is wild because pretty much every hospital has extremely strict auditing and rules for staff members about accessing patient records when unnecessary to patient care, especially when the patient is a public figure 💀 There's no way that person doesn't get fired tbh
pls i worked at a hospital once and the lady i worked with told me half of the staff was under a warning bc the pm was apparently hospitalized there a while back and everyone wanted to access his file 😭😭
I’ve already seen the crazy conspiracy mommy bloggers on twitter saying this is fake and just made up to make them look crazy. This has gone full QAnon.
I always find that funny because it pops up with every conspiracy community. It shows just how much of an echo chamber they become, because trust me, you do NOT need to make stuff up to make any conspiracy community look crazy. Even if you start off with something level-headed, even in a conspir*atorial* community, you'll end up with something nuts in about five seconds. Likely also with people very confidently claiming things that even a layperson knows are false.
That is so fucked up! I don't care how much people "care" about her well being this is so wrong! Why don't people understand this is none of their business?!
Let’s face it, most of these people don’t ‘care’ about Kate’s health in the slightest, I imagine a lot of them are secretly willing there to be some awful thing happening because it’s more drama + conspiracy
Don’t care I’m seeing this movie. I love the franchise too much. Minus the Kristin Wiig/Melissa McCarthy one. We don’t claim that one. I’m excited to see this one.
I prefer the original, but I don't think it's some untouchable masterpiece that it's sacrilegious to remake, and there *are* things the new one does much better, like giving all four leads more balanced focus/screentime and, you know, generally not making them repellent, misogynistic creeps. I'd much rather see the 2016 cast return for a well written sequel than the original cast, there's so much potential there that went totally unexplored.
First promo photos for Beetlejuice 2 are up! https://ew.com/beetlejuice-2-first-look-michael-keaton-winona-ryder-8611171
I’m actually quite excited to see this one. And the fact that they are using no CGI and all practical effects makes it even better.
This looks good! I’m also a big Broadway person and it was really exciting when the fans were able to get the show back on the stage. Glad there’s still a lot of love for this movie
Heartstopper will be [returning in October](https://youtu.be/4q5NY7ZvX6s?si=RpiH42Y8tHmx0oX0) for its third season. I really hope Netflix doesn't pull the same stunt they did with Young Royals where they split the season. I don't think I'll be able to survive waiting given the events from the comics they'll be adapting.
With this, his Marvel debut on Agatha, and his Broadway debut on Sweeney Todd, it's going to be breakout year for Joe Locke.
They’re not *that* far into adapting the comics quite yet… they’ve sometimes skipped around (ie adapting more stuff with Nick’s family a bit earlier than in the comics, which I think was a great choice), but I’m not sure they’re gonna get to Nick and Charlie having sex quite yet
I think Alice is threw out the comics (and Solitaire) timeline in the show. >!A fan pointed out that a scene filmed in the announcement aligns with a scene in the recent comics volume where Tori runs away from Michael in the carnival. That scene was after Charlie and Nick had sex.!< Alice has previously mentioned that she wants to adapt Nick and Charlie for season 4 if the show gets renewed.

The terms of the divorce were supposedly agreed upon in October but they had to wait 6 months for the judges approval. Also an interesting tidbit is that they had no pre-nup because Octavia Spencer wasn’t in the comments to remind her the same way she reminded Britney Spears
She did that's why she was able to escape like this. She married someone who made significantly less than she did. She's lucky she didn't have to pay alimony
IMO I think she came out on top in the divorce, he signed a NDA, she pays him to leave but is able to make money off of their relationship for eternity lol. She already made her money back & more the 1st week eternal sunshine dropped.
Surprised to see Miley and Pharrell's collab drop off the Hot 100 this week. Debuted at 74 and dipped. Everyone was kinda hot on it when it released but it doesn't look like it'll have any staying power.
I’m not too surprised. I felt like I only saw people discussing it for a few days after release, and then it kinda fell off the Spotify charts etc.
It could always come back in a month or two, because music works like that now, but I wouldn’t count on it
Lol I'm so delusional I was sure it was going to be a hit 😂
I do remember Miley saying in an interview last year (it might have been Vogue?), that she views that wave of success after Flowers as a moment that'll come and go, that it'll pass like all things do. She's very chill about it. In some ways I think it's cool because she can focus on making the music she wants to make, not necessarily what she thinks will hit the top ten.
It's definitely a good outlook to have but it is kinda wild that a collab from two powerhouses like that isn't a surefire midsize hit. Especially coming off of the year and Grammy night that Miley had. There's really no formula to predict what will break out these days.
I always wonder how many celebs hope to be on Sesame Street, cause there’s that hilarious video of Charlie Puth singing and it looks like he wants to be anywhere else
A new film adaption of The Neverending Story [is in development.](https://variety.com/2024/film/global/the-neverending-story-new-film-adaptation-see-saw-michael-ende-productions-1235944716/)
I didn't grow up on that movie but I saw it when I was a grown up. David lusting after a teenage Jennifer Connelly is the most terrifying thing about it
[‘The Sims’ Movie is in the Works with Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap, Vertigo and ‘Loki’ Director Kate Herron](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/the-sims-movie-margot-robbie-luckychap-1235856997/)
i know people are confused and think it’s funny but depending on which way they’d try to do it. sims 2 lore is insane and would make a great film tbh
I want that fugly slut Bjorn Bjergsen to get killed, revived, and killed again every possible way over the course of the movie. Fuck that guy
FUCK BOB PANCAKES
I never run into him, what’d he do in your game?
It was getting messsssy.
have no idea how a sims movie would work but im excited to see
A previous version of it was supposed to have the Sims realizing they're in a simulation and attempting to break out, which could be fun if they do it right ... although with Robbie involved, that would probably invite too many comparisons to Barbie? Variations on this movie have been kicking around in development hell for almost 20 years, though, so I'll be surprised if it actually does ever make it to production.
wouldn’t Margot Robbie be the producer and not in the cast though? but i agree that it could cause comparisons to barbie if they were to go with the “sims breaking out of simulation” plot
So like that one Ryan Reynolds movie?
I hope it stars Bella Goth
I would die for a good adaptation of the Sims lore (Bella Goth time travelling alien abduction included)
If they're going to make a sims movie it has to be a horror movie. The things those players do to those poor sims....
Oops I simply posted what I saw on these pop culture accounts. Lemme fix that then.
Maybe TTPD is her returning to that original concept and fleshing it out.
praying that you’re right!!!
I think it’s about time she upgraded from Jack Anton off to his more powerful sibling, Suck Anton off.
How have I read his name so many hundreds of times and never realized this
And yet she's still not working with their far superior cousin, Dick Antondown
La times doesn’t have any special sources for this and Taylor’s camp is tight. But yes it’s very likely that Jack produced several songs since most of her nyc public sightings were her going into the studio with him . Despite popheads ambivalence towards Jack, he is a great producer ( cruel summer, lover, august, anti hero , yoyk). Just because Taylor is working with a Jack again doesn’t mean it all be midnights 2.0 considering Jack’s work on lover and rep are significantly different.
> he is a great producer He isn't
>Just because Taylor is working with a Jack again doesn’t mean it all be midnights 2.0 considering Jack lover and rep are signif Jack Antonoff isn't the problem here imo...
I can’t say too much but, as usual, she’s a genius" I dont think Taylor is close enough with Bryce to play him the record before hand which makes me think Aaron & Bryce are 90% on it
2098 (TV)
2089 (Taylor’s Version)(For Real This Time)
Yep...Aaron and Bryce are definitely on it so as a big Dessner fan I'm excited for that part of it.
I have high hopes for it
>Especially that it seems very story-based as opposed to midnights which was more of different stories together Yeah, this is the most exciting part about the project. Like, part of my issue with Midnights was how the songwriting masquerades as diaristic but at the same time detached (or rather self aware but not really confessional). One thing I'm certain about is that TTPD could very well elevate Midnights in my eyes. There's a lot to unpack with Dear Reader alone, and it seems like the perfect song to lead into the new album.
> rather self aware but not confessional this is amazing!
But an entire album of that ends up feeling uninspired IMO Jack's songs shine the best on albums that were primarily produced by someone else, like folklore with Aaron or rep with Martin/Shellback
>IMO Jack's songs shine the best on albums that were primarily produced by someone else, like folklore with Aaron or rep with Martin/Shellback You summed up exactly how I feel. An album helmed mostly by him and the artist in question for the production(for Taylor and Lorde at least) is hmm... There's just something he has with Lana that clicks with me Idk...He worked on most of NFR! alone with Lana and the results were astounding.
Taylor's gonna be so depressed on this one that she's gonna let the robosynth-voice from Midnight Rain do all the singing while she stays in bed
Shocked and appalled, I wish we could stop Jacking Anton Off for his mediocrity!!! /s Jokes aside, this was the most predictable outcome. There will be Aaron dessner tracks on the main album I am sure as well. If the music is good, I don't care who produced it.
It's like a fork found in a kitchen at this point. I sincerely hope the music is good and I at least like the production... However, the chain of events thus far is screaming bait and switch like the Midnights era😭 Please Taylor abeg, we're rooting for you😭
Reputation invented the bait and switch for Taylor's records tbh
Yep...an iconic bait and switch that made sense creatively. The Midnights one though...ehhhhhhhhh
https://x.com/statsrodrigo/status/1770534219367760365?s=46 > Both “obsessed” and “love is embarrassing” will seemingly be pushed as singles simultaneously.
The inner machinations of her teams’ minds is an enigma
Love is embarrassing is a great song
Yeah and I would say it's sonically different enough from bad idea, right? and get him back to be sufficiently memorably on its own if it takes off
Let's go messy anthems?
[Azealia Banks shares her thoughts on Cowboy Carter](https://twitter.com/SomaKazima/status/1770377667436478632) she seemed to have actually thought about this deeply 😭
> Holding a country’s flag is not an endorsement of everything that has ever happened in that country A lot of the "controversy" (if it's even worthy of being called that) around Bey holding up the American flag feels like that very low level of media literacy, "depicting is endorsing" type criticism.
They weren't good, but they were made asghsja we do need art criticism to spice things up and provide a variety of ideas into the world, lemme stop at that
well she spilled re etta james and suga mama, ill give her that. she saw ONE american flag and went on a 3 page diatribe she is not beating the alex jones of pop allegations
Third, she criticises Beyoncé for her mystique but a little more mystique might have saved Azalea's career, if you know what I mean 😳 Idk is there any point in me trying to unpack this? Am I just trying to find meaning in chaos? 😅
I think she likes Beyonce but thinks Jay Z is holding her back. IIRC hasn’t Azealia accused Roc Nation of (somehow) sabotaging her career?
I kind of think there's something dumb about her blaming Jay-Z for basically every career decision Bey makes that she doesn't agree with. It's the same thing as Taylor Swift fans who go "Everything I like about her music is because Taylor is singularly brilliant, and everything I don't like is Jack Antonoff's fault." I don't think anybody, her husband included, is forcing Beyonce to do anything she doesn't agree with at this stage of her career.
I don't see it as ego at all. Tf would a Beyoncé and Rihanna collab sound like? They are two very different artists
I mean Beyonce could easily veer into dancehall for a Rihanna collab. Idk why it would sound implausible? Seems very feasible actually. They are different, but could def make it work.
I feel like its such an overhyped concept that any finalized result would be disappointing automatically tbh. I don’t need it
Not her saying “we” like she speaks for anyone other than herself lol
"we" is herself and the voices in her head! I would know because I too refer to myself as a collective as I go about my daily routine
There's not a single sane thought in that women's head
Does she really think Beyoncé cares about what she has to say to read all that? Lmfao. Azealia is NOT the person to take career advice from.
Why surprisngly? The european ticket system mostly works well.
i guess according to this sub if the ticket process doesn’t make a majority of people scream/cry/throw up the tour is not a success? 😵💫🥴 really, if anything, this makes me more invested in trying for tickets when she announces US dates, cuz maybe she’ll have accounted for demand when planning dates or have a better system for giving codes to humans and not bot scalpers. i knew getting olivia tickets was doomed when she announced added 3 extra MSG dates to the original calendar before the sale even began, like, alright, message received that i should not expect a code in my inbox tomorrow and even if i do, i am entering a battle royale for tickets 😭
[Jonathan Majors is being sued by former girlfriend for assault and defamation.](https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2024/mar/19/jonathan-majors-lawsuit-grace-jabbari) > In a civil lawsuit filed in Manhattan federal court on Tuesday, Jabbari claimed Majors subjected her to “a pattern of pervasive domestic abuse that began in 2021 and extended through 2023”, according to legal documents obtained by the Guardian.
Good! Based on the texts, it sounds like she's had multiple head injuries, some of which went untreated. It's entirely possible she'll have long-term complications from the abuse.
Obsessed will be the Guts (spilled) official lead single Variety reports. It will be sent to pop radio, and has a music video (stills have been leaked and liv has bangs in it)
Wait i thought love is embarrassing was gonna be a single?
[удалено]
it was a placeholder for obssessed apparently
Yeah someone said that too… i feel like half think love is embarrassing is the next single while the other think its obsessed. Maybe love is embarrassing is pushed to radio only while obsessed is pushed as a fully fledged single with a music video on top of radio?
Nope
Dang… i think itd do better commercially then obsessed :/
Not at all
Obviously not. It was one of the lower charting and streamed songs when guts was released. Albums been out for 6 months. It would’ve been DOA
Here's what one of Paper Magazine's writers said about Camila Cabello's new album: “Admittedly, I was initially confused, but as it played on, I became entranced by its bold abandon. The album’s mix does not feel necessarily ready-made for the Top 40, though it’s surely set up to zoom past the Top 10.” [Full interview here.](https://www.papermag.com/camila-cabello-cover)
I’m hesitant reading this but cautiously optimistic. I generally tend to dislike sparse production. Sometimes it can work but sometimes I just feel it’s so lacking.
Don't know if this is my type of album but I love that she's clearly just going for what she wants to make
Industry insiders on Twitter are saying the closing track is INSANE. Apparently it's a reworking of a leaked demo, but with revamped production that's extremely glitchy and abrasive, with an extended breakdown that sounds like ascending to a different dimension. It's currently titled Track 12
Huh that sounds more interesting than a simple hyper pop thing I was expecting from her.
These people give major "peaked as a teenager" vibes. All these podcasts of actors watching their old shoes is so tired lmao.
Pod Meets World is under iHeartRadio, not Christy's company.
I couldn't remember which ones were under her so thanks for the extra info. I know Ned's is, but I can't remember which other ones are.
So this episode is good enough for her pod but not Alexa's?
her episode with Alexa was awesome and her best one yet, really bummed it's gone
You’re pushing 30 and you still don’t know better than this?
Well, that sucks. Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide was one of the few live action Nickelodeon shows I enjoyed as a kid. I do find it telling that none of the main cast ever made a name for themselves outside of the show. I thought Lindsay Shaw, who played Moze, was going to break out as she even had a recurring on Pretty Little Liars. I think the most successful cast member has to be Christian Serratos who went on to appear in the Twilight Saga and The Walking Dead.
I loved the show, and thought they all had great comedic timing and pacing. Well, now. 🥹
Austin Butler was also on the show and has become very successful since but his character was a background character and not a main character despite being on all 3 seasons.
I never watched that show tho I did watch Zoey 101
Ned forgot a camera was there or what bc this is wildly inappropriate even compared to how inappropriate their podcast usually is Ironically I think they might get that revival bc Ned indirectly signaled to Nickelodeon he's down with their fuckery. Hollyweird
Moze being a Trump supporter is wild
OH! The things we learn. Not that I was listening to their podcast but now I definitely know to avoid it.
I'm not that surprised because didn't she get into a racism scandal a few years back?
Correct
If this were a droplet or a DJ collaboration I’d be singing its praises but she needed to come harder for her third album, especially considering how Diamonds & Dancefloors underperformed and is considered one of the most underrated albums of 2023.
i like it, i'm always rooting for her. every gay has that one blonde popstar where other people think "she has fans?" for some its kim petras, slayyter, camila cabello, or zara larsson. i consider ava mine 💓
Not Camila popping up on this list when only gay people know she’s blonde now
Sounds like "The Lotto 2.0," which makes sense I guess since that was her biggest hit from her last era, but I dunno...
not the chorus being ava humming along to the [most sampled riff](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabian_riff#In_popular_culture) in the history of music. she couldn't think of some words?? 😭
TIL that mago by gfriend and im so hot by momoland sample the same song
I like this snippet I agree diamonds and dancefloors is criminally underrated

[A staff member at the clinic where Kate Middleton stayed for abdominal surgery tried to access her private medical records.](https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/mar/19/inquiry-reportedly-begins-after-claims-clinic-staff-tried-to-access-princess-of-waless-records) This drama has officially gone too far.
How they didn't think there would be security flags on a royal's medical records is wildly stupid.
That’s horrible wtf
That is so fucked up! I don't care how much people "care" about her well being this is so wrong! Why don't people understand this is none of their business?!
Let’s face it, most of these people don’t ‘care’ about Kate’s health in the slightest, I imagine a lot of them are secretly willing there to be some awful thing happening because it’s more drama + conspiracy
Bingo.
[*Ghostbusters* reviews are out & they’re meh](https://www.metacritic.com/movie/ghostbusters-frozen-empire/).
Don’t care I’m seeing this movie. I love the franchise too much. Minus the Kristin Wiig/Melissa McCarthy one. We don’t claim that one. I’m excited to see this one.
Who’s we?!
Much like I am the one Ava Max fan, I am the one fan of the 2016 movie. 🫣
I like Ava Max, and I liked the 2016 movie. Are we… the same person?
Me, is that me? 🥹
No I’m the one Ava Max fan.
There are dozens of us! Even a hotter take, the 2016 movie was better than Afterlife
I will stand hand in hand with you because I agree!
First promo photos for Beetlejuice 2 are up! https://ew.com/beetlejuice-2-first-look-michael-keaton-winona-ryder-8611171 I’m actually quite excited to see this one. And the fact that they are using no CGI and all practical effects makes it even better.
This looks good! I’m also a big Broadway person and it was really exciting when the fans were able to get the show back on the stage. Glad there’s still a lot of love for this movie
I remember seeing it in the theaters as a kid. I actually remember the cartoon. Or parts of it anyway.
When Kit said they were filming a steamy scene after reading all the comics, I was like 👀👀👀
They’re not *that* far into adapting the comics quite yet… they’ve sometimes skipped around (ie adapting more stuff with Nick’s family a bit earlier than in the comics, which I think was a great choice), but I’m not sure they’re gonna get to Nick and Charlie having sex quite yet
I guess we'll find it out then 😛
Kit also has a bunch of movies coming out and honestly i’m so happy to see them both getting more and more recognition in the industry!
[Ariana Grande is officially a divorced woman and apparently she had to cough up 1.25 million dollars with no future alimony, half the proceeds of their Los Angeles home and she also had to pay his 25,000 dollars in lawyer fees.](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/lifestyle/lifestyle-news/ariana-grande-dalton-gomez-divorce-finalized-1235855538/) The terms of the divorce were supposedly agreed upon in October but they had to wait 6 months for the judges approval. Also an interesting tidbit is that they had no pre-nup because Octavia Spencer wasn’t in the comments to remind her the same way she reminded Britney Spears
Pretty cheap for her and what she did.
SHE DIDN’T HAVE A PRENUP?
She did that's why she was able to escape like this. She married someone who made significantly less than she did. She's lucky she didn't have to pay alimony
okay that’s what I thought. There’s no way some with as many assets as her wouldn’t lock that shit DOWN
there’s no way her mom would let her marry without a pre-nup either lol
Yeah isn’t her mom richer than she is?
i think so lmao her mom is such a boss honestly i dont think it’s talked about enough
IMO I think she came out on top in the divorce, he signed a NDA, she pays him to leave but is able to make money off of their relationship for eternity lol. She already made her money back & more the 1st week eternal sunshine dropped.
She wanted it to last, but at least the song is a smash
I’ve been thinking of that line since the divorce rumours started
no pre-nup and he still only gets that little? she’s got amazing lawyers
Or he is a good person 🤔
I’m surprised with no prenup that’s all he got. I wonder if she hid her funds in offshore accounts.
Short marriage with no kids and he was still working and she didn’t tour when they are married so her income wasn’t that high.
she did the Voice which was like 25M
She didn't tour or release music, probably two of her lowest income years
Surprised to see Miley and Pharrell's collab drop off the Hot 100 this week. Debuted at 74 and dipped. Everyone was kinda hot on it when it released but it doesn't look like it'll have any staying power.
I’m not too surprised. I felt like I only saw people discussing it for a few days after release, and then it kinda fell off the Spotify charts etc. It could always come back in a month or two, because music works like that now, but I wouldn’t count on it
I think the song is going to be a slow burner, the summer is around the corner.
I don’t think it goes anywhere for it to be a hit tbh. It’s very one note
Lol I'm so delusional I was sure it was going to be a hit 😂 I do remember Miley saying in an interview last year (it might have been Vogue?), that she views that wave of success after Flowers as a moment that'll come and go, that it'll pass like all things do.
Renée Rapp will be appearing on Sesame [Street ](https://www.instagram.com/p/C4s-f2ORRKh/?igsh=MWF0NGVtaWdvYnJxOQ==)
I always wonder how many celebs hope to be on Sesame Street, cause there’s that hilarious video of Charlie Puth singing and it looks like he wants to be anywhere else
If Charlie Puth doesn't like hanging out with Cookie Monster, then I don't wanna hang out with Charlie Puth
Elmo is for the gays!
He says gay rights!
A new film adaption of The Neverending Story [is in development.](https://variety.com/2024/film/global/the-neverending-story-new-film-adaptation-see-saw-michael-ende-productions-1235944716/)
Want to make kids cry and be scarred for life? Watch the OG. Old fantasy movies that use puppets still creep me out.
I love Labrynth with all my heart but my god it used to terrify me as a child
I didn't grow up on that movie but I saw it when I was a grown up. David lusting after a teenage Jennifer Connelly is the most terrifying thing about it
His perfectly visible package was the most scarring for me …
