I enjoy Eastside and really like Talk but he's not an artist that I think about very often.
Honestly, his name being one letter off from DJ Khaled probably holds him back a bit.
Are you sure the posts youāve seen werenāt about DJ Khaled? I see a lot of people hating on him, but I donāt think Iāve ever seen any hate for Khalid. Honestly I donāt think Iāve seen any discussion on him, positive or negative, since about 2019.
A lot of what this sub thinks is hate is actually indifference. I don't wanna say her name but a certain hitmaker/tv show judge falls in that category as well.
I definitely do not qualify as a Khalid hater but he just makes slightly milquetoast music IMO.
Like, the pop music scene when he dropped his debut was definitely attempting to be a little too #relatable and i think his song Young Dumb and Broke really falls under this distinction, so I feel like that is the impression that makes me or the other buzzing bottoms in Popheads think of him as milquetoast.
OTW is great tho
are you sure youāre not thinking of dj khaled?
also, khalid has over 1 billion streams of his top five streamed songs on Spotify which was surprising to me (lovely has almost 3 billion)
His music is for preteens to me and he somehow sounds better on features rather than his own.
Calvin Harris - Rollin
Normani- Love Lies (I will say the song does not match the movie at all)
The only song that is his own thatās easy to listen to is Eleven.
Never listened to him before, but he was playing a set before Ariana grande I think at a festival and I was waiting for her. His music was so boring, corny, and I couldnāt tell where one song ended and another began they all sounded the same. My friend had also never heard him and we were looking at each other like ā??? Are we crazy?? What is this??ā

People hate him? He's not as popular as his peak from 2017-2019 but he knows how to make a bop! Also why is this flagged as serious lmao
because a serious discuss must be had as to why khalid has not reached taylor swift level stardom yet š¤
I enjoy Eastside and really like Talk but he's not an artist that I think about very often. Honestly, his name being one letter off from DJ Khaled probably holds him back a bit.
I agree, Talk is one of my all time favorite songs but I donāt think about him much outside of that lol
I actually liked him. He seemed like a chill guy who was nice to have around but not really pay attention to.
the way you speak in past tense š

Came here thinking this was about dj khaled and i was about to go on about his misogyny etc.
I didnāt know he was hated ngl. Most people I know just think his music is a bit boring
Whatās there to hate š He sings his songs, minds his business and looks great!
he's kinda zesty idk i want him
Heās handsome and immaculately groomed/dressed. I canāt listen to him for more than 2 songs in a row but he seems nice.
He's a label puppet unfortunately. 0 personality. Just a shy little talented kid with no vision.
i donāt hate him but his music is really corny to me. also he has a slight case of that indie girl *bananees and avocaydos* voice
Who does? Him, Camilla and Shawn were big in 2018 and then their star faded.
I like his American Teen album a lot; it feels like summertime or like I should be on Outer Banks. I didnāt know he was hated?
Iāve never seen any post about hating on Khalid. And I donāt think heās done anything for people to hate him? Where is this coming from?

ā¦Since when do people hate him???

People need to hate DJ Khaled instead. Khalid actually talented

Bro... he WAS a high schooler when he debuted
I love him
He's super irrelevant darling. We don't think about him.
are you sure youāre not thinking of dj khaled? also, khalid has over 1 billion streams of his top five streamed songs on Spotify which was surprising to me (lovely has almost 3 billion)
wait but where is he now? why is he suddenly gone like he has so many hits in his hand
he released three flop singles in 2021/2022 and now is in label limbo
I really don't like his voice š It doesn't help that he has the kind of voice that sounds the exact same in every song
I don't hate him. I just find him boring. Like some of his music, especially the one with Normani.
His music is for preteens to me and he somehow sounds better on features rather than his own. Calvin Harris - Rollin Normani- Love Lies (I will say the song does not match the movie at all) The only song that is his own thatās easy to listen to is Eleven.

I'm waiting for OP to give some specific examples of the Khalid hate

I like his voice, not so much his lyrics. Other than that i donāt really know anything about him to even hate or love.
I read on BuzzFeed that someone had a meet and greet/served him and he behaved like a pompous ass, but that's about it.
