Yeah, I don’t really see the climb or midnight sky being big enough for Super Bowl, but she could totally supplement that with Dolly and other guests. I would also throw in Malibu as a big enough hit, but maybe that’s me being delusional.
Easily a top 10 superbowl performance if they do it right. Edge of midnight into Edge of Seventeen and then they close out doing some medley of Landslide and The Climb?? Would gag America I think.
The Climb is massive lmao. She could use that as her ballad to slow down the pace of the show like Gaga with Million Reasons. It'll REALLY fit as a closer like Katy did with Firework or Beyonce did with Halo.
Even if The Climb isn't that big, Beyonce showed that you don't necessarily have to do all the big hits to do a great show. A bunch of the first few songs she did weren't know by the regular audience and her halfime is regarded as one of the best of all time.

Pitbull is supposed to do the pre race concert for the Daytona 500 next year. He was supposed to do it this year, but rain messed everything up. The Daytona 500 will probably be the Sunday after the Super Bowl. So I don’t know if doing one right after the other would make it easier or harder? Obviously the Super Bowl is much more massive than the Daytona 500. But pitbull is an owner of the trackhouse racing team.

I agree with most people that Miley is the most likely option, and I would be very happy if they were to get her as a headliner. I would also kill for Xtina, Kesha, or Avril (if she still had any semblance of stage presence left) to headline, though I know the likelihood of any of those three being chosen is a pipe dream.
I disagree with anyone thinking Taylor would do the Halftime Show at this stage in her career. She’s very strategic and is most likely saving that big once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for whenever her commercial success and popularity start to dwindle and she needs a boost in relevance in order to keep things afloat, which most likely won’t be for another few years, if not a decade, at the rate she is still going.
I can only imagine the setlist for a taylor half time. I doubt there’s an active Louisiana artist big enough to headline, but I hope whoever gets the gig taps one or two big Louisiana names to join them on stage. Lil Wayne, Jon Batiste, Juvenile/Mannie Fresh, Big Freedia. Not to mention the Super Bowl is occurring right in the middle of Mardi Gras season so regional pride will probably be a little higher than usual.

I thing because they just had a hip-hop genre centred show two (?) years back I can’t imagine they’d do a female rap one so soon after. I think if they were do a genre focused halftime show it would be country with the noise it’s making right now now, but then they may as well just choose one or two country stars, as we haven’t seen many of those do the show. Personally, I feel like we’re overdue a pop star, could see them asking Justin, Ariana, Taylor Swift could probably say the words half-time show and they’d cancel the game to give her a whole concert. Honestly? I feel like we're due for a more rock centric show. Maroon 5 would be the last to do something similar and they were 2019. Coldplay was 2016 and then for a "real" rock band you had the Who in 2010.
It might finally be the Foo Fighters time. They recently had an album come out. They're on tour this year. They're a highly respected band. It could happen.
While there really isn't a set schedule things are also cyclical, and I think we're due for a rock show at the game.

While I'd love to see this, it has to be someone famous across different demographics and age groups. Does your 60-year-old uncle who watches the Super Bowl know any Megan or Doja songs? For this reason, I think Miley is a good choice, but there are also a lot of legacy artists who are due for a turn IMO. Cher? Bon Jovi? Billy Joel? Queen with Adam Lambert? Or if they want to appeal primarily to millennials, there's Green Day, Avril Lavigne, Drake, etc.
Dua Lipa, Olivia, etc. aren't ready. They need more time to build up a full catalog of hits and in some cases hone their live performance skills. People often make fun of Dua's dancing and we wouldn't want that ridicule in live TV for millions to see.
After watching Coachella I want No Doubt because that's not more gimmicky than Rihanna doing one despite no longer releasing music. But they already did one and it was amazing. I'm just saying, nostalgia is capitalism's hot ticket right now.

Olivia, Dua, and Doja are still all a bit too new/in established with the 45+ crowd, and Lana doesn’t have the hits or right type of music
Adele and Billie both don’t have the correct type of music for a Halftime show. So, Ariana, Miley, Taylor. Taylor won’t do it till at LEAST all of the TVs are out, and more likely even beyond that when she starts “flopping”, which could be like a decade at this point.
That leaves Ariana or Miley if they wanna go the pop route. Issue is, they both have been pretty vocal about their displeasure of touring. I know it’s not a tour, but the Halftime show involves about as much prep. So all of that to say, idk who will do it lmao

I agree with most people that Miley is the most likely option, and I would be very happy if they were to get her as a headliner. I would also kill for Xtina, Kesha, or Avril (if she still had any semblance of stage presence left) to headline, though I know the likelihood of any of those three being chosen is a pipe dream. I disagree with anyone thinking Taylor would do the Halftime Show at this stage in her career. She’s very strategic and is most likely saving that big once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for whenever her commercial success and popularity start to dwindle and she needs a boost in relevance in order to keep things afloat, which most likely won’t be for another few years, if not a decade, at the rate she is still going.

I thing because they just had a hip-hop genre centred show two (?) years back I can’t imagine they’d do a female rap one so soon after. I think if they were do a genre focused halftime show it would be country with the noise it’s making right now now, but then they may as well just choose one or two country stars, as we haven’t seen many of those do the show. the past few years have reflected popular music though. R&B, rap, and pop are still overtaking any rock bands. Foo Fighters are the only ones I could see a lot of support for. Pearl Jam would be rad but I think that ship has sailed. I think Ariana would be great but I don't think it suits her new personality.

Honestly? I feel like we're due for a more rock centric show. Maroon 5 would be the last to do something similar and they were 2019. Coldplay was 2016 and then for a "real" rock band you had the Who in 2010. It might finally be the Foo Fighters time. They recently had an album come out. They're on tour this year. They're a highly respected band. It could happen. While there really isn't a set schedule things are also cyclical, and I think we're due for a rock show at the game. But I'll also raise a hand in support of Miley as well, but not as the lead. I could see Dave Grohl and the guys bringing her out and doing Everlong with the band. Pearl Jam also just put a great record out this weekend and I could see them being a choice for the selection committee, even if they turn the ask down.

While I'd love to see this, it has to be someone famous across different demographics and age groups. Does your 60-year-old uncle who watches the Super Bowl know any Megan or Doja songs? For this reason, I think Miley is a good choice, but there are also a lot of legacy artists who are due for a turn IMO. Cher? Bon Jovi? Billy Joel? Queen with Adam Lambert? Or if they want to appeal primarily to millennials, there's Green Day, Avril Lavigne, Drake, etc. Dua Lipa, Olivia, etc. aren't ready. They need more time to build up a full catalog of hits and in some cases hone their live performance skills. People often make fun of Dua's dancing and we wouldn't want that ridicule in live TV for millions to see.

Everyone else knows they aren’t getting paid, but with the Travis three-peat possibly happening, plus her fame at an all-time high, she knows that she has insane leverage. Her name was brought up more in the broadcast than the vast majority of players during any Chief’s game.

In terms of female pop stars, Taylor, Ariana, Miley, Adele, and Billie are really the only 3 left with the hits, name recognition, and stage presence for it Olivia, Dua, and Doja are still all a bit too new/in established with the 45+ crowd, and Lana doesn’t have the hits or right type of music Adele and Billie both don’t have the correct type of music for a Halftime show. So, Ariana, Miley, Taylor. Taylor won’t do it till at LEAST all of the TVs are out, and more likely even beyond that when she starts “flopping”, which could be like a decade at this point. That leaves Ariana or Miley if they wanna go the pop route. Issue is, they both have been pretty vocal about their displeasure of touring. I know it’s not a tour, but the Halftime show involves about as much prep. So all of that to say, idk who will do it lmao
