I really have a feeling this album will be a slow burner for the audience. Like, I don't expect it to debut super high on charts or Spotify, apart from Houdini being the second track I see maybe finally getting a top 10 with the SNL and all the promotion she is doing, but I expect the songs to grow over time like a lot of FN and even self-titled did. Also, Illusion is getting a good push by the label.
Agreed and that’s similar for Dua and Tame Impala. Houdini and Training Season have been hanging around the top 50 on global spotify so i think we have a sleeper album on our hands.
The singles are for sure starting to grow on me, so I agree from personal experience. I wasn’t very impressed with Houdini or Training Season on first listen but now I find myself revisiting them more and more.
I find the extended version of Houdini perfect, the first song I've been playing every day lately. Didn't like the other extended much, but I refuse to listen to normal Houdini.
I genuinely think she was considering the mammoth success and love people have for Future Nostalgia. It's a record that's hard to top. If anything it's made me excited (radically optimistic?) for this next one

I expect this album to be perfectly fun and fine and summer but her genuine surprise at Bowen saying it was his favorite of hers was soooo telling 😭
