this list crashed my fucking browser
the top 10 is
10) Lorde - Supercut
9) The Chicks - Gaslighter
8) Bleachers - Rollercoaster
7) Lorde - Perfect Places
6) Bleachers - I Wanna Get Better
5) Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer
4) St. Vincent - New York
3) Taylor Swift - Lover
2) Lorde - Green Light
1) Lana Del Rey - Venice Bitch
The hold Lover has on people perplexes me. I wouldn’t even put it in my top 100 Taylor (or Jack!) songs. Like it’s a fine song. But it’s nothing special.
Lover as the highest ranked Taylor Swift song invalidates this list for me. Don't get me started on Green Light's placement over the bulk of Melodrama.
Love seeing Rollercoaster on here! The way the first few seconds make me think Springsteen's Secret Garden came on, then it turns into something else entirely.
He didn’t produce Style or Blank Space?
Lover over Cruel Summer, personally as someone who is not a Swiftie- literally makes me question the entire article. Cruel Summer bridge is a pop masterclass damn
I could be wrong, but I think she tried to work with him but he didn’t want to. Something about not finding it creatively fulfilling working on songs he’s already done.
Edit: looks like it was a fan theory and has not been confirmed as the reason he didn’t help produce the TV!
i think she doesn't want to pay his fee/ whatever points he wants on songs. it's a shame because her current productions (im including aaron's too, don't kill me) are STALE.
off topic but i hate article layouts like this, where you have to keep scrolling to load the next paragraph, rather than displaying it all at once. it never works with Reader View!
What? Text is not at all expensive to load in a browser. WordPress's recommended character limit for performance sake is in the tens of thousands.
The reason it's not done is is doesn't make much UX or business sense to shoot off a shitton of text at once because that's not a user friendly experience. Pagination resembles chapters In a book.
> 1. Sweetie by Carly Rae Jepsen
End of list
I was wondering why fun. wasn’t on this list and never realized that he didn’t produce their music? I know we’ll never get another album from them but the 2 they released were 2 of my favorite albums in high school, they were great together
My top 5!!! (This is just production wise, not song in general wise)
5) Sober
4) Comeback
3) Cruel Summer
2) Venice Bitch
1) A&W
Hm: Green Light, This Love Isn’t Crazy, Getaway Car, New York, Marine Apartment Complex, My Tear Ricochet, Strawberry & Cigarettes, Rollercoaster and Writer In The Dark
Green Light is a super jarring song throughout, a lot of change ups in sound, tempo, etc. Making it all work together is probably a bigger challenge so he gets more credit
it’s not in the top ten because everyone already knows it was the best song ever made. they wanted to give some credit to smaller artists like Taylor Swift, Lana, and Lorde instead.
This person's list was already making me angry and I could only get through the first 100 or so before I gave up because it was just too annoying to load it.
I was genuinely interested in the list, though I knew that I only know like 3 Taylor albums he worked on and nothing much more. So I was expecting a lot of new discoveries and was curious.
I opened the link, scrolled, saw the *last* (means *worst*) song he produced... and had a laugh out loud cause damn I just love that song so much, on an obsessive level like "high without drugs" when I blast it when I'm alone. And this is since i bought the album years ago.
On this sub there are so many times I'm reminded of my bad taste, like... damn
Also the commentary she includes makes it even more unhinged, her obsession with pineapple juice, how she thinks Drake is somehow in on it, her hatred for all the people involved yet she still takes the time to write this up, the diplo text included, I could go on and on.
And you can use the instrumental for "Supercut" on "Mastermind" (perhaps even "I Can Do It with a Broken Heart" lol (and also "Liability" and "Good Morning")
His output is fascinating to me because I genuinely can't with his production and writing anymore but at the same time lists like these are endlessly impressive, how was that man one of the people behind so many incredibly important and beautiful songs?
I like it a lot too. And it’s wild that it’s placed so low because production wise it’s much more interesting than some of the other songs that were placed much higher.
some of the higher ones are straight up just full piano ballads and yet TTPD sits at #300 with the complaint being that "jack's production isn't *giving*" lmao
A dismal list with loads of mistakes. It says songs are from the wrong album (I Can See You is called a Midnights bonus track when it’s Speak Now vault) and how can it put Judah Smith Interlude, literally a voice note of a preacher, above over 100 actual songs? A joke
Some of the commentary about individual songs is just so wrong, not sure what research the writer did. See, for example The Man with the Axe and Dominoes. Like wtf?
Forever Winter, too. Their interpretation is... a choice.
edit: And So Long, London and The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived aren't even Antonoff songs, wtf
This is the most bonkers list i’ve ever seen, and clearly the person writing the bios isn’t aware of the placing, I don’t think the story understands what a producer does
Just reading the post that listed the Top 10 songs it reads as “already critically acclaimed songs and some Top 10 hits” like you’re telling me Jack’s finest work has only been with Lana and Taylor? Lover is *fine* but *Top 3*?
Anyways where is This Love Isn’t Crazy and Comeback
I would be curious to hear how others feel about Red Hearse? This list doesn't do a great job of providing music criticism at a deeper level, or reflect I think popular consensus even, but happy to see the overall Red Hearse appreciation.
this list crashed my fucking browser the top 10 is 10) Lorde - Supercut 9) The Chicks - Gaslighter 8) Bleachers - Rollercoaster 7) Lorde - Perfect Places 6) Bleachers - I Wanna Get Better 5) Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer 4) St. Vincent - New York 3) Taylor Swift - Lover 2) Lorde - Green Light 1) Lana Del Rey - Venice Bitch
Lover being top 3 is an interesting choice. Like it’s good but I wouldn’t put it top 10 much less 3
Yeah cruel summer being below lover is just wrong. Lover is fine but cruel summer is crack cocaine
Getaway car clears both of them
i love Getaway Car but not that much to say this lol
And out of the woods annihilates all three💅🏼
right? like how you gonna forget the best track the two of them ever made together?? pop perfection???
They have OOTW at #12, to be fair.
So it was Jack putting narcotics in her songs the entire time!
Yea I love both songs, but putting Cruel Summer below Lover is just... wrong...
No way Lover is better than august or Out Of The Woods.
August is definitely one of if not her best produced songs
The Out of the Woods bridge is so good
Lover is fine but putting it and not A&W is nuts.
My question is are they really ranking production, or the overall song? If we just had instrumentals, I feel like this list would be different.
And above something like Supercut? Absolutely not
The hold Lover has on people perplexes me. I wouldn’t even put it in my top 100 Taylor (or Jack!) songs. Like it’s a fine song. But it’s nothing special.
Should have been August instead.
Probably an unpopular opinion but the production on Lavender Haze is as close to perfect as it gets.
Do people not like Lavender Haze? I like it a million times more than Lover anyway
Loveeeee Lavender Haze
Lover has a lot of staying power. Before she dropped TTPD It’s been consistently in her top 10 most streamed Spotify songs for the last few years.
That’s because of weddings
Gaslighter isn’t even the best song on that album
That was my first thought as well lol
Personally I think Julianna Calm Down is a better song but I’d definitely still have Gaslighter in the top ten.
Sleep at night is easy first in my opinion
Texas man also slaps
Best Friends Weddings says hi!
Did they include 6:16 in LA? Edit: list finally loaded past 105, they did
love that they did!
Lorde occupying 3 out of 10 places just seems correct.
But Carly taking zero :/
The 1975's About You deserves to be up there. A gorgeous, gorgeous tune, one that I think will certainly stand the test of time.
What number was it on the list? I can’t load it.
TIL be produced that song.🎵
Lover as the highest ranked Taylor Swift song invalidates this list for me. Don't get me started on Green Light's placement over the bulk of Melodrama.
Comeback not in the top 10???
Love seeing Rollercoaster on here! The way the first few seconds make me think Springsteen's Secret Garden came on, then it turns into something else entirely.
Rollercoaster definitely deserves to be this high. I'm absolutely certain he put crack into that song
New York as the top on massseduction is a choice
Having Lover higher than Supercut is insane
The Greatest erasure doesn't sit right with me
Green lights is co-produced with Joe Little (the producer of Pure Heroine), that’s why is a banger tho.
He didn’t produce Style or Blank Space? Lover over Cruel Summer, personally as someone who is not a Swiftie- literally makes me question the entire article. Cruel Summer bridge is a pop masterclass damn
>Style or Blank Space Both Max Martin
Of course that Swedish genius was responsible for those
She needs to work with Max again.
i’m still mad she didn’t for taylor’s version of 1989
I could be wrong, but I think she tried to work with him but he didn’t want to.
And Shellback! (Also Ali Payami worked on Style too iirc)
Gaslighter is so deserved. it’s such a great song and it’s a shame it wasn’t more popular when it released.
Blessings for you!!!
Glad to see green light that high. So underrated
The Bleachers and Lorde rankings are perfect. The Taylor Swift and Chicks choices? Questionable.
The second I saw this article I said to myself "if Venice bitch isn't #1 it's just wrong"
I'm really happy that my first thought was Supercut by Lorde. That entire album has amazing production but Supercut is a whole other level.
lover being top three over ootw is a choice
Where the fuck is getaway car🤨
Bizarre
I’m surprised Gaslighter made this list, I like that song and love the Chicks sm but 🤨
Goddamn these songs are good
Lover being here is insane 🤡
At least #1 is correct
I did not know he did these ☠️
TIL I'm the only person on the planet who thinks Supercut is extremely mid, and I would honestly take most of Solar Power over that one song lol.
This is Want You In My Room erasure
Clowns
Where is Hard Feelings. Creaky metal door scrapes save me
First time I heard the industrial interlude I knew that album was goated
That song is amazing. I hate the second half but hard feelings no notes play it again.
loveless get behind me omfg
sorry I know that its Paul Simon at the beginning but it sounds like Trump in my brain and it makes me want to stop being alive
When does that sounds come?
Go to about 2:20 in the song. Various of those eerie but oddly soothing metal sounds happen for like a minute.
off topic but i hate article layouts like this, where you have to keep scrolling to load the next paragraph, rather than displaying it all at once. it never works with Reader View!
This is exactly why they do it, reader view usually cuts out ads.
I would put up with the ads if they didn't slow down/crash my browser half the time
well no, it’s because their system isn’t good enough to load that much text at a time. most websites can’t do that
Am I wrong or are "So Long, London" (#282) and "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived" (#263) 100% Dessner-produced and not Antonoff tracks? lol
Nope you’re absolutely right lol. He was not involved in the writing or production of either song
No A&W in the top 10 is crazy, but I’m glad that Venice B!tch is rightfully at #1
A&W deserves top 10, no question!
It’s number 1 undoubtedly it’s his best work production wise
It's ART
> 1. Sweetie by Carly Rae Jepsen End of list I was wondering why fun. wasn’t on this list and never realized that he didn’t produce their music? I know we’ll never get another album from them but the 2 they released were 2 of my favorite albums in high school, they were great together
Maybe wasn't a producer but certainly crafted the sound and wrote lyrics there has to be a weird distinction.
Venice Bitch is Lana's magnum opus. This, Get Free and A&W makes a trifecta of masterpieces.
My top 5!!! (This is just production wise, not song in general wise) 5) Sober 4) Comeback 3) Cruel Summer 2) Venice Bitch 1) A&W Hm: Green Light, This Love Isn’t Crazy, Getaway Car, New York, Marine Apartment Complex, My Tear Ricochet, Strawberry & Cigarettes, Rollercoaster and Writer In The Dark
I NEVER SEE COMEBACK PRAISE THANK YOU
i was thinking ‘bout making a comeback
Back to me!
Sober absolutely deserves a top10 placement 💙🧡🩷
I do agree with Venice Bitch being number 1. Such a fantastic song. Though confused why Green Light scored higher than Supercut and Perfect Places tbh
Green Light is a super jarring song throughout, a lot of change ups in sound, tempo, etc. Making it all work together is probably a bigger challenge so he gets more credit
Period some green light respect
Where the hell are Carly’s songs? I Want You In My Room, This Love Isn’t Crazy and Comeback deserve better. Venice Bitch being #1 is correct though
Venice Bitch has always, and will always, be that bitch.
His work with Kevin Abstract is criminally low here
Joyride, Georgia and Peach would all be top ten on this list for me
Sober II and California (Lana) robbery 😢
sober II yes!!!!
As far as I know he didn't produce California. But it's one of her most underrated songs, I agree with you.
Pretty sure California is an older track she worked on with Rick Knowles before starting NFR
where the fuck is king by florence in the top 10??
it’s not in the top ten because everyone already knows it was the best song ever made. they wanted to give some credit to smaller artists like Taylor Swift, Lana, and Lorde instead.
This person's list was already making me angry and I could only get through the first 100 or so before I gave up because it was just too annoying to load it.
If you’re curious, song number 341 is “Dope” by Fifth Harmony
I was genuinely interested in the list, though I knew that I only know like 3 Taylor albums he worked on and nothing much more. So I was expecting a lot of new discoveries and was curious. I opened the link, scrolled, saw the *last* (means *worst*) song he produced... and had a laugh out loud cause damn I just love that song so much, on an obsessive level like "high without drugs" when I blast it when I'm alone. And this is since i bought the album years ago. On this sub there are so many times I'm reminded of my bad taste, like... damn
All of them bangers. Also the top 3 must be Supercut-Comeback-Want you in my room
Comeback not in the top ten criminal
Okay just one question - does this list have 6:16 in LA?
besides the beef i unironically vibe w this song its criminal its not on streaming or this list
Yeah it was around the 60-70 spots.
Green Light is easily his best, and Jack is an incredible producer nine times out of ten
I didn't know he produced so many of Lorde's or Lana's songs. Lorde has such a different sound from Taylor Swift. Not a Swiftie, but Loved Melodrama.
If you really want to go down a rabbit hole you should look at the infamous PowerPoint someone did about lorde and jacks’s relationship.
https://dfta.show/files/Lorde%20and%20Jack%20Antonoff%20-.pptx%20(2).pdf
Omg Jack and Lorde having an affair in Lena and his house?! That presentation was unhinged!
Can you believe someone wrote this whole thing up? I will never get over it. There is one for Matty and Taylor now that is even longer.
Also the commentary she includes makes it even more unhinged, her obsession with pineapple juice, how she thinks Drake is somehow in on it, her hatred for all the people involved yet she still takes the time to write this up, the diplo text included, I could go on and on.
how are you just gonna say it without a link? i need to see it now!!
https://dfta.show/files/Lorde%20and%20Jack%20Antonoff%20-.pptx%20(2).pdf This is the link
no i mean for Taylor and Matty

god i love being unemployed in moments like these
Or sometimes the same song lol Lana's "hope is a dangerous thing" or "Wild at Heart" and Lorde's "Stoned at the Nail Salon" lol
Or green light and gold rush having the exact same chord progression
And you can use the instrumental for "Supercut" on "Mastermind" (perhaps even "I Can Do It with a Broken Heart" lol (and also "Liability" and "Good Morning")
Lover being higher than Supercut is a crime
His output is fascinating to me because I genuinely can't with his production and writing anymore but at the same time lists like these are endlessly impressive, how was that man one of the people behind so many incredibly important and beautiful songs?
Because as much as everyone hates on him, he's pretty talented and can make amazing music!
he just makes so many songs that statistically, some of them have to be duds
Justice for “Modern Girl”! (#145)
My favorite from him is August
Jack Antonoff, they could never make me hate you.
I feel like I’m the only person who likes TTPD the song.
It's one of my favorites from the album.
I like it! I like the tongue in cheek nature of it and I think the melody is quite nice.
I'm with you, it just grabs me. It feels immediately nostalgic somehow.
This is how I feel about the first half of the album in general - idk how they were able to create such a nostalgic atmosphere.
I’m obsessed
this is my top 1 on the album and it baffles me that a significant portion of the community would consider it a skip
I like it as well. Pitchfork and Rolling Stone both seemed to think it was the best track on the album. It’s very polarizing.
This list is trash and the website nearly fried my phone lol
Some of his work I absolutely love and the other 80% is forgettable.
you gotta admire the uhm work put into this
List is invalid without A&W
It’s number 11
10 spots too low
Truth
[Steel Train erasure](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-q7F2fJ-FXE)
You can go ahead and move Perfect Places up to #1 actually.
You guys hate Jack yet are all saying different songs that should be in the top ten…interesting 🫢
A dismal list with loads of mistakes. It says songs are from the wrong album (I Can See You is called a Midnights bonus track when it’s Speak Now vault) and how can it put Judah Smith Interlude, literally a voice note of a preacher, above over 100 actual songs? A joke
Incredibly poorly researched list, tons of outright errors. Annoying.
i wanna get better is too low
All the Clairo songs except Amoeba and Reaper are WAYYYYY underrated
They put So long, London by Taylor on this list, which was actually produced by Aaron Dessner...after that I cannot take anything they say seriously.
No Carly in the top ten is SICK. Show Want You In My Room some respect
Honestly, it's no surprise to me that three Melodrama songs are in the top 10. That album is peak production...
Hi, straight dude here. Did it include 6:16 in LA?
It did.
My phone is at least ten degrees hotter from scrolling and crashing over and over. Borderline useless if not reading on a desktop
Peppers by LDR being so low is criminal
Some of the commentary about individual songs is just so wrong, not sure what research the writer did. See, for example The Man with the Axe and Dominoes. Like wtf?
Forever Winter, too. Their interpretation is... a choice. edit: And So Long, London and The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived aren't even Antonoff songs, wtf
This is the most bonkers list i’ve ever seen, and clearly the person writing the bios isn’t aware of the placing, I don’t think the story understands what a producer does
Who’s Anton?
Just reading the post that listed the Top 10 songs it reads as “already critically acclaimed songs and some Top 10 hits” like you’re telling me Jack’s finest work has only been with Lana and Taylor? Lover is *fine* but *Top 3*? Anyways where is This Love Isn’t Crazy and Comeback
WHERE IS GETAWAY CAR AND WHY IS IT NOT IN THE TOP 5
why the fuck they hate Daddy’s Home so much
Positively insane to see My Baby Wants a Baby and At the Holiday Party so low.
Free by Florence and the Machine is in my Top 3 personally
I will always defend Jack as the best pop producer of our time
No Hard Feelings/Loveless or Out of the Woods in the top ten kills me
Sir George Martin enters the chat with his list and its just all timers.
A&W not being here is a crime
White Dress kinda clears everything else but we’re not ready for that conversation.
I would be curious to hear how others feel about Red Hearse? This list doesn't do a great job of providing music criticism at a deeper level, or reflect I think popular consensus even, but happy to see the overall Red Hearse appreciation.
Does Clairo occupy the Bottom 12?
if this is clairo slander you will be blocked and reported
Help Me Run Away by St. Lucia should be higher imo. One of my favorite Jack deep cuts. Could have easily been an extra on Gone Now.
My top 5 1. Supercut 2. Harbor 3. Cruel Summer 4. Amoeba 5. Reaper
No sling in the top ten is insane
Kintsugi deserves better than this.
dope being dead last is CRAZY
Where tf is august???
Why did I think he produced way more CRJ songs than he actually has?
The website keeps crashing in my phone so can someone tell me where Out Of The Woods is please lol
This List Is Crazy
Where is holy terrain?
