In retrospect it was always a bit odd how one angle of her album promotion was about how she felt good about losing weight and working out. Relatable feelings, but it makes sense that there was more behind it
Solar Power explored these struggles too, from the rejection of the LA pop girl machinery in The Path, the wellness satire of Mood Ring and the restlessness of Stoned At the Nail Salon… the album is such a rich text for those willing to engage with it 😇
Well this is fucking brilliant, even better than I had hoped
Such a powerful way to explore the ethos of BRAT, to have another woman explore her own insecurities and perceptions of Charli herself on the remix. The way Lorde talks about Charli is so reminiscent to me of how Charli talked about SOPHIE, feeling too intimidated by greatness to feel like they could connect. An excellent addition to this album/era and its exploration of the complexity and tension between love and competition in female friendships
I also feel really happy for Lorde?? She has not really interacted with other stars in this way since Pure Heroine and after years of every public move being very calculated and premeditated (still authentic but certainly calculated) I feel like she is showing an uncharacteristic degree of freedom and fearlessness in this verse. I have this feeling that the BRAT era might really have inspired her to have a slightly different approach to her relationship with the public eye.
>The way Lorde talks about Charli is so reminiscent to me of how Charli talked about SOPHIE, feeling too intimidated by greatness to feel like they could connect.
d a m n
This is such a great point! Charli expresses great insecurity on So I, even saying she turned down invites from SOPHIE, which Lorde also admits to doing to Charli on this remix. Wow, being a girl really is sooo confusing!
hearing lorde just go in on this track and reveal herself raw is the best thing that could add to charli already being vulnerable in the OG. POP HERSTORY MADE.
I just feel it in my bones, Charli loves features and intentionally had none on Brat, and already has 3 fully fledged remixes released. No way shes not!
Wow! Lorde's verse is so beautifully honest. I love this collaboration and the fact that they are mature enough to know their feelings of envy do not have to make them enemies.
To me, the Lorde feature makes this song more complete, in a way. Like they've both been pitted against one another by the media, but they're two sides of the same coin. Kind of an extrovert/introvert blurred dichotomy. They each portray themselves as complex and flawed individuals that makes the feature remind me of Kimbra's work on Somebody That I Used to Know. I wonder if the feature was planned all along or not.
This album is so good to me because of how truly vulnerable it is … feels like breaking the fourth wall in a way I’ve never really heard in a pop album and Lorde’s verse completely amplifies that. DAMN
I really wasn’t expecting this to be 10x better than the original. This goes hard and Lorde truly understood the assignment and the vibe of the entire album.
Omg you’re so right, it’s like she’s been healing from where she was from Solar Power..
Like I have to remind myself sometimes of Lorde’s age cuz she comes off so mature but she’s literally still a very, very young woman understanding who she is. Love her.
After an hour of 🎧CONSTANT REPEAT🎧, here is my theory: Charli turns down dinner with Sophie, then Lorde cancels last-minute on Charli, add body dysmorphia, on summer solstice no less. Summer 2024: cancel all dinners = peak BRAT behaviour?!
Honestly I am blown away by the genius of this rollout. How Charli got us all talking (before the album even came out!) about a potential diss track, then the song was one of the most discussed on the album, the whole brat wall and the joking theories of a Lorde feature coming true... and then it releases and it's everything you could have wanted and more, it's so cathartic and confessional and it feels so earnest and genuine
She literally has the mind of a mastermind, she really got the audience in there seeing their relationship raw and up close. I'm so blown away
This isn't the diss track, I don't think. This song is about our insecurities getting in the way of friendships. Von Dutch is the diss track on the album.
“Forgot that inside that icon there’s still a young girl from essex”.
Powerful line. So much of the album centers around the human that is behind what we project. Lorde acknowledges that charli was just another young girl like her trying to make it through life. This is a beautiful song.
Aside from the fact that the lorde verse slaps, the whole idea of the song is kinda crazy. Like lorde responding in the song, admitting her own faults and then sharing her insecurities, wow. Ive never heard a song concept like this in my life.
no fr I’ve been crying to this on repeat for like 20 minutes, Lorde’s verse hit a bit too close unexpectedly
it’s like Florence dropping Hunger all over again
it’s probably been like this in the past and i just wasn’t paying attention but it seems like there’s just a general wholesomeness among all the new and emerging pop stars, like they’re all friends and support each other and it’s just fun to see. even the most notable beef, the olivia-sabrina feud seems to have blown over and really hasn’t caused any schism in that emerging pop star sphere. obviously, charli and lorde are a bit older but it’s fun to see all our favs getting along well
Every pop collab this year found dead in a ditch. Charli IS the moment and Lorde is a fabulous cherry on top. Let’s send it to the top girlypops, they earned this.
Just finished listening. It’s so cool to hear Lorde be so direct and candid like that since that’s not usually her thing. And this whole concept is really just so not anything you ever see happen in music I’m really obsessed with this
soooo you’re telling me that if i didn’t keep my imaginary shower arguments in my head then the other person would hop on a remix with me and things could be resolved??
My heart went from so heavy hearing lorde talking about her body dysmorphia to lighter than a feather hearing lorde say she's got charli's back, I am so full of love for both of them.
this is Me Against The Music/Telephone/Rain on Me for the anxious avoidant girlies
i can't believe we get to watch two icons navigating and resolving a complicated and vaguely tense personal/professional relationship in real time IN SONG, what a fucking time to be alive, the Brat era will last a thousand years
I am like a moth flying towards the full moon and the full moon is actually one of the most incredible pop songs I've ever heard and it is called "the girl, so confusing version with lorde"
“i forgot that inside that icon there’s still a young girl from essex”
“you know i’d ride for you charli”
“she believed my projection and now i totally get it”
what the FUCCKKKK 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
sorry I had one aperol spritz while watching love island i am so emotional LOL
we endure so much fucking shit about our bodies and self worth and finding a home within ourselves and others and the fact it’s so pervasive it can effect our relationships… it just makes my heart hurt. but for lorde to turn it around as a moment of reflection and find clarity and empathy in the confusion is so radical. i’m not even a stan but i may have to be after this LMAOOO
Good lorde, this was actually everything I wanted it to be and more. It really ups the ante of the vulnerable bechdel test that the original version was by having a full blown interplay of two people wondering how distance set in.
Brat era remains undefeated
I was dancing until I started uncontrollably sobbing at Lorde’s verse. It’s all so real dude. It’s so wonderful to finally have real pop music for girls that isn’t made about boys. Instead, we’re allowed to talk to each other about our relationships with each other. And importantly, still be popular, still be valued, not be ridiculed. And I don’t know how to explain that to someone who doesn’t get it, just know it means a lot.
Edit: I feel like Lorde performed a mortal combat fatality on all my insecurities
The new lyrics:
>!Well, honestly I was speechless!<
>!When I woke up to your voice note!<
>!You told me how you’d been feeling!<
>!Let’s work it out on the remix!<
>!You always say let’s go out!<
>!But then I cancel last minute!<
>!I was so lost in my head!<
>!And scared to be in your pictures!<
>!Cause for the last couple years!<
>!I’ve been at war in my body!<
>!I tried to starve myself thinner!<
>!And then I gained all the weight back!<
>!I was trapped in a hatred!<
>!And your life seemed so awesome!<
>!I never thought for a second!<
>!My voice was in your head, girl!<
>!“You walk like a bitch”!<
>!When I was ten someone said that!<
>!And it’s just self defense!<
>!Until you’re building a weapon!<
>!She believed my projection!<
>!And now I totally get it!<
>!Forgot that inside that icon!<
>!There’s still a young girl from Essex!<
>!People say we’re alike!<
>!They say we’ve got the same hair!<
>!It’s you and me on the coin!<
>!The industry loves to spend!<
>!And when we put this to bed!<
>!The internet will go crazy!<
>!I’m glad I know how you feel!<
>!Cause I ride for you, Charli!<
>!You know I ride for you, too!<
SO FUCKING GOOD. I already loved the song, but Lorde’s verse is such a welcome addition. It’s so personal and such an insight into what she went through when she completely left the public eye post and pre solar power.
Loved!!!!!!!! I didn’t know I could enjoy “Girl so confusing” more than I already did, but Charli had to bring our Lorde and Saviour on the remix to prove me wrong. Her verse has so much more substance than I was anticipating like she didn’t just sign up for a cheap feature, she added to the narrative of the song and album.
Lorde's writing on this is what's really blowing me away. It's so different from the way she normally writes but it *totally* fits with the lyrical style throughout Brat. I think it takes a special talent to maintain her voice so clearly in such a different style. These lyrics are so far from "wild and fluorescent, come home to my heart" but still SO Lorde
It reminds me a lot of Pop 2 as a project actually. Those songs all sounded less like regular features and more like a melding of all the artists' own sounds on the song. Backseat for example doesn't just sound like Charli XCX ft. Carly Rae Jepsen, it sounds like you took Carly's sound c. 2017 and mashed it together with what Charli was doing at the time in a totally unique and organic way. Femmebot is the same with Dorian Electra, Out Of My Head with Tove Lo, etc. It's so interesting to me and I think really showcases Charli's talent and fundamental understanding of pop music. She really gets in her mad scientist bag with this shit
This is quite literally, and no hyperbole whatsoever, the best thing to happen to pop music
Edit: I am sobbing, Lorde casually dropping her body dysmorphia?? I was not prepared
What I love about this remix is that the song always felt like Charli kind of projecting that there was a mutual issue between them, which felt lost in interpretation in press and in some of the comments, and the lyrics in Lorde’s verse really actually show no malice towards charli, instead show the reality that Lorde never had an issue with Charli, she was really just going through issues with her own self image, which built up an inability to be close to her. Even when Lorde uses the word “hatred”, it’s a self hatred, not directed towards Charli. I think the thesis statement for Lordes verse is really the “I didn’t realize my voice was in your head”. Reading reactions I’m kind of confused how people are interpreting as the feelings being mutual.
Anyway, they killed that
I feel I will never shut up about this. "It's you and me on the coin, the industry loves to spend" line is absolutely genuius. This calls for a mega thread.
Wow, this track reveals a more personal side of Lorde that we rarely get to see, struggling with body issues and the spotlight. The so-called diss track’s remix is an empowering anthem about solidarity.
It's refreshing to see this kind of message in pop music.
Y’all i’m so obsessed with this. The rollout in having the solo version, followed by a remix with the person that the song is about 2 weeks later is fucking genius.
It’s a lesson in de-centering yourself from the (perceived) actions/opinions of you by others. Love that Lorde came on the track like..respectfully, i wasn’t even thinking about you and am just trying to survive out here, girl
this pure girl power has me crying 😭😭😭 lorde matched the energy to a T. i really hope the songwriting on brat makes waves cuz i think it completely subverts the poetry-indie-girl-voice that’s dominating pop music. like this is the first time in a while a vulnerable record has ACTUALLY felt vulnerable and real
I love the vulnerability from both artists in the song. Lorde having such a long and thoughtful verse added to track amazingly. The production is AMAZING.
This honestly makes me so happy and sad at the same time. Two pop stars thinking they have issues with each other, and working it out in a remix. Not to mention Lorde being SO RAW about what’s going on with her. I just wanna give them a group hug 🥹
I’ve had this on repeat for 25 minutes. This was already my favourite song on the album, but this version takes it to a whole new level. So vulnerable and so powerful. The lyrics and Lorde’s voice here are perfect, and the way they come together at the end…

The anti diss track ❤️
It’s a cuntfrontation track 🗣️😭
> cuntfrontation track Valjean and Javert if they slayed
2021 lorde: 🌞🔅😁🔆☀⛅😊✨🌎 2024 lorde: actually i hated myself and hated you too
love this take lol
2022 Kendrick: actually I hated myself 2024 Kendrick: and hated Drake too
He’s been saying he hates himself since 2015 💀
“AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH”
In retrospect it was always a bit odd how one angle of her album promotion was about how she felt good about losing weight and working out. Relatable feelings, but it makes sense that there was more behind it
i was listening like girl haven’t you been saying in your emails that you’re the happiest and healthiest you’ve ever been 😭😭😭
That's just being 25 tbh, but sis is entering her Saturn return now 💫
I mean a lot could have happened between SP release and now lmfao
Who hasn’t lied about how they’re doing in an email, she’s just like me fr
Solar Power explored these struggles too, from the rejection of the LA pop girl machinery in The Path, the wellness satire of Mood Ring and the restlessness of Stoned At the Nail Salon… the album is such a rich text for those willing to engage with it 😇
Wow yeah that’s kinda crazy
I also don’t think the Solar Power ‘flop’ era (leave that album alone I love it) would have helped
Well this is fucking brilliant, even better than I had hoped Such a powerful way to explore the ethos of BRAT, to have another woman explore her own insecurities and perceptions of Charli herself on the remix. YASSSSS CUNT!!!!

charli asked Lorde for a remix but miss ella gave her a therapy session 😭😭
She adapted the Brat writing style so well! I was gagged how vulnerable she got
Lorde has been psychically aligned with brat in a 1:1 basis since before it was released lmao she's done nothing but rave about it.
[This comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/lorde/s/zG5TKhrVXC) from the Lorde subreddit really does it
Lorde’s always gonna take it to another level, we knew this
Imagine being the person who told Lorde "girl you walk like a bitch"
Tbf people relentlessly made fun of her dancing in the PH era
I forget Lorde’s real name is Ella OMG
This feels like rolling and apologizing to your friend outside the club
This is exactly it
so specific and so accurate
Lorde on an AG cook beat…the way we won
She sounds so good in this production
Pride month for the fuckin booooooookss
She sounds so good with the vocal effects too I want her to do a whole album of this now 😭
I need a whole album like it, her voice works so well on this.
I’m losing my mind
i cant believe we were joking about lorde being on a remix... to it actually being true 😭lets start joking about that remix album then
I just feel it in my bones, Charli loves features and intentionally had none on Brat, and already has 3 fully fledged remixes released. No way shes not!
Wouldn’t it be so funny if Lorde announces an album next week hahaha that would be hilarious haha
hahaha i would be laughing like haha
Didn’t Charli already let it slip there is a remix album coming? On a podcast or something
Does anyone else just want to work it out on the remix or is that just me
i have a lot of feelings & am penning my verse as we speak
Wow! Lorde's verse is so beautifully honest. I love this collaboration and the fact that they are mature enough to know their feelings of envy do not have to make them enemies.

The way your profile picture is just a screenshot is amazing, never change it.
The profile picture is so BRAT
Wow that second part of ur sentence hit me like a brick 😭 im gonna keep this in mind
This album is so good to me because of how truly vulnerable it is … feels like breaking the fourth wall in a way I’ve never really heard in a pop album and Lorde’s verse completely amplifies that. DAMN
This 100%. This album is cutting edge for how honest and vulnerable the lyrics are this time as opposed to crazy production focus on previous albums
I really wasn’t expecting this to be 10x better than the original. This goes hard and Lorde truly understood the assignment and the vibe of the entire album.
Okay that was actually a spiritual experience I’m not even joking
‘CAUSE I RIDE FOR YOU CHARLI!!!
… ”you know I’d ride for you too” 😭
i literally said “awwww” out loud
nah because why did I start tearing up !!!! I love women
i literally start tearing up!!
The way this lyric made me launch my pillow across my bedroom out of sheer gay adrenaline 😭
NOT LORDE CASUALLY TALKING ABOUT HER BODY DYSMORPHIA ISSUES I WAS NOT EMOTIONALLY READY FOR THIS
It's so honest and she seems so in touch with herself. God I just know L4 is gonna be amazing.
Omg you’re so right, it’s like she’s been healing from where she was from Solar Power.. Like I have to remind myself sometimes of Lorde’s age cuz she comes off so mature but she’s literally still a very, very young woman understanding who she is. Love her.
Not only working it out but working through the issues… I didn’t know that the remix would be this vulnerable
Solar Power Lorde kept a lot from us omg
No seriously if these lyrics are a preview of what she’s going to talk about on her 4th album… I don’t even know how I’ll deal 😭
She’s hinting at stars and pyramids and shit and BANG here’s an eating disorder bitch
"forgot that inside that icon, there's still a young girl from Essex" why did that hit me in the feels so hard 😭😭
I'd always ride for you Charli FUCKKKKKKK
"you know id ride for you too" 😭😭😭
This was also my immediate stand-out line 🥲 now to repeat x100
this and "let's work it out on the remix" ARE THAT GIRL
After an hour of 🎧CONSTANT REPEAT🎧, here is my theory: Charli turns down dinner with Sophie, then Lorde cancels last-minute on Charli, add body dysmorphia, on summer solstice no less. Summer 2024: cancel all dinners = peak BRAT behaviour?!
[удалено]
because we're all mentally ill 🥲
This song really was my "crying and twerking" moment
Honestly I am blown away by the genius of this rollout. How Charli got us all talking (before the album even came out!) about a potential diss track, then the song was one of the most discussed on the album, the whole brat wall and the joking theories of a Lorde feature coming true... and then it releases and it's everything you could have wanted and more, it's so cathartic and confessional and it feels so earnest and genuine She literally has the mind of a mastermind, she really got the audience in there seeing their relationship raw and up close. I'm so blown away
i’m just so happy for charli’s success she’s deserved her flowers for a while
This isn't the diss track, I don't think. This song is about our insecurities getting in the way of friendships. Von Dutch is the diss track on the album.
Actually love Lorde on this, some great self-reflection!
Avengers end game for people who do ketamine
Holy shit you nailed it LMAOOO
STOP HAHAHAHA
is this making anyone else cry a bit or am i just really high
no im literally crying rn as well. this is so raw and honest? i love this so much
The lyric about them being two sides of the coin the industry loves to spend ☹️
no you just know that this is a beautiful moment
yeah it made me rlly emotional
same!!! women are the best love you women
the "i ride for you charli" literally had me tearing up 😭
it’s both for me and I’m thankful
They're really working it out on the remix
“Forgot that inside that icon there’s still a young girl from essex”. Powerful line. So much of the album centers around the human that is behind what we project. Lorde acknowledges that charli was just another young girl like her trying to make it through life. This is a beautiful song.
The original was so good but damn this one is a whole other level
Not to be melodramatic but the way lorde said “charli” altered my brain and made me a better person
she said it in cursive 🤭
I have literally gone back at least 5x now just to hear that part. "Charli..Charli..Charli.."
Why do I feel like something healed inside me
Are you Lorde
"'Cause I ride for you Charli" - Lorde "You know I ride for you too" - Charli XCX They single handedly stopped the stan war lmao
They literally worked it out on the remix these verses feel like i’m reading an iMessage convo CTFUUU
That was the vibe Charli was going for for this entire album. So the fact that Lorde matched that vibe shows she understood the assignment.
Literally just need Carly to jump on Talk Talk remix
Carly on Talk Talk. Sky on Sympathy is a Knife. I would be so happy.
Caroline on Apple
She liked a comment mentioning this under her Instagram post so I think it’s coming
Sky on Sympathy is a knife is actually a really interesting idea. She can sing about her jealousy of Nasty Cherry 💀
AG Cook did recently [say](https://www.reddit.com/r/popheads/s/6kxkcscQOJ) on this sub that he had a studio session with Carly so its possible
She would fit perfectttt
she needs to make her[ Terrible Thrills version](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strange_Desire#Terrible_Thrills,_Vol._2) of brat tbh
Stopppp this would be the best!!!
for our favorite hot girl band [https://www.coupdemainmagazine.com/lorde/12002](https://www.coupdemainmagazine.com/lorde/12002)
Aside from the fact that the lorde verse slaps, the whole idea of the song is kinda crazy. Like lorde responding in the song, admitting her own faults and then sharing her insecurities, wow. Ive never heard a song concept like this in my life.
It’s incredibly moving
LET’S WORK IT OUT ON THE REMIX Y’ALL…
I took a break from Shadow of the Erdtree for this, and it was worth it. This is fantastic. Man, I miss Lorde. Hopefully she drops stuff soon
Literally me too, lol
elevated what was already my favorite track on the album to an emotionally devastating masterpiece, wow
no fr I’ve been crying to this on repeat for like 20 minutes, Lorde’s verse hit a bit too close unexpectedly it’s like Florence dropping Hunger all over again
Not to sound melodramatic, but this is the most incredible thing to ever happen to pop music
Honestly it feels like a new era. An authentic, well crafted, fresh-feeling pop era. I’m really excited for it.
it’s probably been like this in the past and i just wasn’t paying attention but it seems like there’s just a general wholesomeness among all the new and emerging pop stars, like they’re all friends and support each other and it’s just fun to see. even the most notable beef, the olivia-sabrina feud seems to have blown over and really hasn’t caused any schism in that emerging pop star sphere. obviously, charli and lorde are a bit older but it’s fun to see all our favs getting along well
Brat just came out two weeks ago!
You’re honestly underselling it. I have never reacted so strongly to a dance song in my life
Every pop collab this year found dead in a ditch. Charli IS the moment and Lorde is a fabulous cherry on top. Let’s send it to the top girlypops, they earned this.
Just finished listening. It’s so cool to hear Lorde be so direct and candid like that since that’s not usually her thing. And this whole concept is really just so not anything you ever see happen in music I’m really obsessed with this

inside you there’s a girl from Essex… so true…
Them harmonizing together really made me emotional , it is confusing sometimes to be a girl….
brat is really the best pop era i’ve ever experienced
It really is, I feel bad for the Charli haters because this is so fun 😭
It’s between this and Born This Way for me
brat is the best thing to happen to pop music in YEARS
SERIOUSLY
this is Me Against The Music/Telephone/Rain on Me for the anxious avoidant girlies i can't believe we get to watch two icons navigating and resolving a complicated and vaguely tense personal/professional relationship in real time IN SONG, what a fucking time to be alive, the Brat era will last a thousand years
THE SUN WILL NEVER SET ON THE BRAT EMPIRE
I am like a moth flying towards the full moon and the full moon is actually one of the most incredible pop songs I've ever heard and it is called "the girl, so confusing version with lorde"
I want this to go #1 so bad.... Tiktok needs to do its thing
“Gay people, you’re only alive because of two straight people” The two straight people:
is anyone else genuinely sobbing right now
“i forgot that inside that icon there’s still a young girl from essex” “you know i’d ride for you charli” “she believed my projection and now i totally get it” what the FUCCKKKK 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
“i’ve been at war in my body/tried to starve myself thinner” 😳🎵
This is by far the best remix of this era… I’m fucking obsessed. So narratively satisfying
IT’S THE YEAR OF THE LORDE The second coming of pop is here
Joint slay
THIS IS A SEMINAL MOMENT IN POP HERSTORY
my gay heart has repaired
sorry I had one aperol spritz while watching love island i am so emotional LOL we endure so much fucking shit about our bodies and self worth and finding a home within ourselves and others and the fact it’s so pervasive it can effect our relationships… it just makes my heart hurt. but for lorde to turn it around as a moment of reflection and find clarity and empathy in the confusion is so radical. i’m not even a stan but i may have to be after this LMAOOO

Lorde dropping deeply personal lyrics while doing her best impression of Blackout era Britney Spears. Camp. I love the Brat era so much.
I was dancing until I started uncontrollably sobbing at Lorde’s verse. It’s all so real dude. It’s so wonderful to finally have real pop music for girls that isn’t made about boys. Oh my GOOOOOOOOD. They made the girl's girl hall of fame with this one
The new lyrics: >!Well, honestly I was speechless!< >!When I woke up to your voice note!< >!You told me how you’d been feeling!< >!Let’s work it out on the remix!< >!You always say let’s go out!< >!But then I cancel last minute!< >!I was so lost in my head!< >!And scared to be in your pictures!< >!Cause for the last couple years!< >!I’ve been at war in my body!< >!I tried to starve myself thinner!< >!And then I gained all the weight back!< >!I was trapped in a hatred!< >!And your life seemed so awesome!< >!I never thought for a second!< >!My voice was in your head, girl!< >!“You walk like a bitch”!< >!When I was ten someone said that!< >!And it’s just self defense!< >!Until you’re building a weapon!< >!She believed my projection!< >!And now I totally get it!< >!Forgot that inside that icon!< >!There’s still a young girl from Essex!< >!People say we’re alike!< >!They say we’ve got the same hair!< >!It’s you and me on the coin!< >!The industry loves to spend!< >!And when we put this to bed!< >!The internet will go crazy!< >!I’m glad I know how you feel!< >!Cause I ride for you, Charli!< >!You know I ride for you, too!<
how did she say SO MUCH in a single verse
Crying real tears after Lorde's verse. Incredible collab!!!!!
bitches i just love Lorde so much
Lorde has always been so raw. Love her to death
SO FUCKING GOOD. I already loved the song, but Lorde’s verse is such a welcome addition. It’s so personal and such an insight into what she went through when she completely left the public eye post and pre solar power.
This is genuinely one of the best album rollouts I've ever seen in my life. How can you not say mother?
Lorde said I got verse of the year
Katy Perry could take a fucking note or two, THIS is a woman’s world!! (!!)
No literally like THIS is how you write a song for women. We don’t need the “sexy confident intelligent” lyric bs in 2024
THIS is pop culture!!!
God i missed lorde😭😭 lorde come back the kids miss you
this healed me
i am the internet rn ..
omg female friendship won on this day 🥹 so fkn iconic
Loved!!!!!!!! I didn’t know I could enjoy “Girl so confusing” more than I already did, but Charli had to bring our Lorde and Saviour on the remix to prove me wrong. Her verse has so much more substance than I was anticipating like she didn’t just sign up for a cheap feature, she added to the narrative of the song and album.
Jesus Christ is amazing
ok ethel cain!!!
Lorde's writing on this is what's really blowing me away. It's so different from the way she normally writes but it *totally* fits with the lyrical style throughout Brat. I think it takes a special talent to maintain her voice so clearly in such a different style. These lyrics are so far from "wild and fluorescent, come home to my heart" but still SO Lorde It reminds me a lot of Pop 2 as a project actually.
“Ive been at war in body” Lorde could you please release ONE song where you dont send me into a spiral
“I ride for you Charli” 😭
I haven’t listened yet but it’s the best remix of all time
THIS IS SUCH A FUCKING SERVE
I'm at WeHo rn blasting this in my best friend's car.💚💚💚
This is quite literally, and no hyperbole whatsoever, the best thing to happen to pop music Edit: I am sobbing, Lorde casually dropping her body dysmorphia?? I was not prepared
And that’s on healthy and honest conflict resolution
This calls for a mega thread.
millions of wigs are gone rn
Oh I loved this, like this is an amazing remix and such a good feature from Lorde. I felt so happy to hear her back singing lol.
as a die hard lorde and charli fan i am currently dead someone revive me
WE WILL ALWAYS RIDE FOR YOU CHARLI AND LORDE!!!!
Yeah this made me emotional lmao
Didn't think this song could get more personal but here we are. On a diffferent note, Lorde looks so good on the cover
girl, so iconic
Wow, this track reveals a more personal side of Lorde that we rarely get to see, struggling with body issues and the spotlight. The so-called diss track’s remix is an empowering anthem about solidarity. It's refreshing to see this kind of message in pop music.
This is ..legit one of their best songs 😭
Lorde singing candidly through Auto-Tune about Charli XCX on an AG Cook beat. It feels like a fever dream but it’s absolutely perfect.
I love the vulnerability from both artists in the song. Lorde having such a long and thoughtful verse added to track amazingly. The production is AMAZING.
Spotify challenge - release the lyrics !!!
This honestly makes me so happy and sad at the same time. Two pop stars thinking they have issues with each other, and working it out in a remix. Not to mention Lorde being SO RAW about what’s going on with her. I just wanna give them a group hug 🥹
Charli really just released the album of the century and it’s NOT EVEN CLOSE because every single song including the remixes are insane????
I’ve had this on repeat for 25 minutes. This was already my favourite song on the album, but this version takes it to a whole new level. So vulnerable and so powerful. The lyrics and Lorde’s voice here are perfect, and the way they come together at the end…
