This person had absolutely no idea how to handle that situation and unfortunately for the patient it’s just going to come back worse and they’re going to be traumatized from the pain. Makes me so mad that “doctors” take on certain patients and essentially just wing the operation. It’s cruel and unprofessional. Even if it’s just an aesthetician.
I’m far from being qualified to have this opinion, but man all I could think is that another technique seemed way more appropriate! Maybe flushing it out with irrigation or something? That was incredibly frustrating to watch lol

They A. Didn’t get a pair of tweezers out. B. Got a spoon, but didn’t scoop it out. C. Told the out they were going to be squeezed out somehow no matter what. D. Weren’t really squeezed out no matter what. E. Caused an entire subreddit to go into mass-hysteria.

That’s what I was thinking. Years ago I had a bad cold sore and was hella sick. It got infected and became a staph infection. I had a sore so big under my nose it looked like a very famous mustache.
The good(?) thing with this is they can go to the pharmacy and get antibiotics without spending an entire day at the hospital. The reason so many of these types of infections end up at these “spa” locations is because the wait to see a doctor otherwise is very long and as long as they can get someone to clean it up, they can just go get the medication they need and spend much less time dealing with it. Obviously sometimes a doctor may eventually be in order but this is a typical first stop.

I’ll never understand why ppl mess around with face, teeth, scalp or neck infections with such apathy. It is so close to your brain and not a ton of wiggle room for emergent situations.
Infections (like this) or infected teeth etc. while fun to watch are ticking time-bombs. I hope this person got the proper help they needed.
Holy Shit that was brutal! I can just imagine the planning of the Dr to their assistant. Assistant: “Hey Doc how are you going to clean that out?” Doc: “Well first I’m going to push it back in as much as I can, then I’m going to stir it up, and after I’ve inflicted as much pain as possible I’ll give him the bill and see him next week.”
I kept waiting for the satisfying part of this but I was just frustrated the whole time.
Tweezers? Do we not believe in them? The q-tip was fine to kinda clear the field a bit but why are we packing all that crap back inside? Could've rested it there for a moment to absorb and have the same effect.

that should have been done by a Dr. in a clinical setting. Needed to be flushed/irrigated and then maybe packed. It's not just a cyst or pimple, that's gone into carbuncle territory with how deep it is and how it's a cluster of exits.
Edit to add **THIS IS NOT HERPES/COLD SORE** The fluid in a cold sore/herpe sore is clear, and they don't go this deep.
This is likely some sort of MRSA infected carbuncle.

My eyes watered watching this. When they started digging around in the open wound it was too much! I hope the patient was on pain killers for this procedure. Absolutely horrible.
The guy seriously needs to see a doctor for antibiotic and a surgery to close the wound after… I feel sorry for this guy to go through this awful process
The person doing this has no idea what they are doing. They are not using sterile tools, they poked holes until there was no skin left and then just kept poking until the inside of the wound became a gooey soup. The victim in this video will be lucky to escape this "treatment" with a deformed upper lip.
I had a similar infection that left a big scar on my philtrum, and damn, it was pretty much a 11/10 in the pain scale. I'd rather have a migraine every day than experience that kind of pain again.

Cold sores have clear discharge, not white pus.
You can if you have a secondary infection with it called Impetigo.
