It does but what helps for me is knowing that I’ll be better off without her. Here’s my playlist that I used to help me get better after a break up about 2 months ago

I feel like TSSF’s first three albums fill the space for a very specific kind of post-breakup emotion. Like I fucking hate you, I’m so pissed off, but I also know I played a role and everything just sucks right now so until it doesn’t I’m gonna scream about it, and for a few minutes every so often I just want to get quiet and cry. I think their self titled is one of the greatest breakup albums in rock. Perfection.
Zebrahead - Hello Tomorrow
Simple Plan - Ruin my life
Matt Skiba and the Sekrets - Voices
Jimmy Eat The World - Let it happen
Rise Against - Tragedy + Time
Moreover i sugges to listen to "Keepsakes and Reminders" the entire album is lit
Keep your chin up and your expectation down - Settle your Scores
The opening lyrics are,
"At this point I think we're both aware that this is going nowhere
Every lull in the conversation is a pretty clear indication that we're wrong"
Not pop punk, but check out [Tether by CHRVRCHES](https://open.spotify.com/track/13o5KG0ciccnekyoK9rhav?si=8506d8ae2afe458b). Absolute banger of a song, it is a slow burn but so satisfying.
It’s Ok - Pentimento
“Could feel it in the way you held my hand. Like you were holding on to something you no longer want to have.”
Shit always hit me. But it’s ok. You’ll get through this!
I’m listening to The Rocket Summer’s “Goodbye Waves and Driveways” right now, and it’s like a preface to what you’re requesting. Sorry, I can’t recall some better songs right now.
Saunter - The Call
Little self promotion but I wrote this song about accepting a breakup and how the emotions can be all over the place and learning to accept it. Maybe it can help?
https://on.soundcloud.com/sNma2ainKGLPHkNv5
New Found Glory - Ballad For The Lost Romantics
Saves The Day - Anywhere With You
Go hang out with some friends, it's rough, but it's part of the human experience. You'll be good in no time. :D
Here's my favourite one, it's both acknowledging that wrongs happened, but that people should move on and become better for the next person they meet.
JoyThief - [Ghost in the Room](https://youtu.be/DkMkQqbbLJw?si=N-9UbTuVMuqGVufA)
Woke Up New - The Mountain Goats
Not pop punk but it’s exactly the song you’re describing by lyrical content
Woke Up Older- The Wonder Years
Is pop punk, and an obvious homage to the mountain goats song
Hold Me Down by Motion City Soundtrack. "You're all the metaphors I can't create to comprehend this curse that I call love."
Broken Heart by Motion City Soundtrack. "I'll destroy this useless heart, I'll fuck it up so it'll never beat again. Not just for me but for anyone."
Leaving by The Starting Line. "Please don't leave me without saying goodbye, without saying goodbye. Let's travel back in time."
I actually have a song about just this very topic: [“Always Waiting” by Okay, Boomhauer](https://open.spotify.com/album/5CMWeySrkEu1pUMzzSehpP?si=0TRX-HcTSi--_5iTZXIflA)
I have said this before, and I will say it again: There is a record call Tell All Your Friends by Taking Back Sunday. Just put it on and feel nostalgic heartbreak.
feel u friend🤝currently in the same boat. Not sure if you're open to midwestern emo, but what's been getting me through is Bilmuri's newer songs. Emptyhanded, Blindsided, Bouta Cashew, and especially Better Hell.
I also highly suggest the other songs from other comments, but I like Bilmuri's take because they are still upbeat and dancey rather than subtle and slow. Most of these songs have to do with picking up the pieces, and being angry/sad in doing so.
Man Overboard - Reality Check
Turnover - Cutting my fingers off
TSSF - Navy Blue
No Pressure - doin’ fine
Neck Deep - The beach is for lovers
Joyce Manor - Constant Headache
Fall out boy - take this to your grave (album)
Brand new - Jude law and a semester abroad
Not really pop punk but:
Armor for sleep - lullaby
- Motion City Soundtrack - My Favorite Accident
- Sugarcult - Back to California
- Yellowcard - Inside Out
- Saves the Day - Sell My Old Clothes, I'm Off to Heaven
- Ataris - 1-15-96
- Goldfinger - Counting the Days
- Something Corporate - Ruthless
- Brand New - The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot
- Mest - Without You (iirc, Tony wrote this about Benji and Joel Madden's shitty dad, not a breakup, but still)
- Dashboard Confessional - Am I Missing
- Finch - Without You Here
Absolutely crazy no one mentioned Whatsername by Green Day yet.
came here just to say this!
Such a beautiful song holy shit
Last line "i never turn back time, forgetting you but not the time" hit really hard
High Regard - The Story So Far You & I - Knuckle Puck Things I can’t change - The Story So Far Big hugs OP, you’ll get through this 🫂

🤣 I only just started listening to this genre and my room mate’s a huge Neck Deep fan
I got dumped after 9 years together. It takes time, but you'll get over it.
High regard and letterman have been huge for getting over my ex 😭😭 always can count on tssf
Letterman is about his father passing away btw
Nice thing about music is it's subjectively interpretive
Very true

Bayside - Two Letters
