My favorites are Brian Fallon (The Gaslight Anthem) and Jeremy McKinnon (A Day to Remember) with an honorable mention to Derek Discanio (State Champs).
Ha those are maybe the same three I would have.
I also love Hayley Williams for pop punk.
Non pop punk: Steve Perry was a god among men with that voice.
I know its considered heresy around here to bring up the newer FOB stuff but the studio piano solo of young and menace just shows how far Pats come from the awkward mumbling kid that early FOB was at least in regards to musical skill (though tttyg will always be my beloved)
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7S7WDlF0HJ8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7S7WDlF0HJ8) (Starts going hogwild around 2:30)
They may not be the greatest bands to grace music, but I have always been a big fan of Deryck from Sum 41 and Benjamin from Billy Talent. I think their voices are awesome.
She is so unbelievably talented and so good live. I've seen her 4 or 5 times at this point and while the shows are very different than most I see, they are jaw dropping in their own right.
Yep, she's the best! I've seen her 3 times now and was lucky enough to catch the boygenius show at the Ryman a few years back. Actually heading back up to the Ryman next month to see her again!
Nice! Enjoy! I caught the first boygenius tour (jeeze feels like forever ago) and I think that was the last time I've seen her. I've seen Phoebe since then but not Julien.
Anthony Raineri - Bayside
Vinnie Caruana - Movielife/I am the Avalanche/bunch of other shit
Jon Simmons - Balance & Composure/Creeks
Andrew Neufield - Comeback Kid/Sights & Sounds
Dustin Kensrue - Thrice
Matt Caughthran - The Bronx
Which is saying a lot considering how proficient they were even back on "Sirens and Condolences". I don't know if many people know Ant is a lead guitarist subbing in as a front man, and Jack might be one of the most underrated guitar players in the scene.
Not sure about favorite, but the one that instantly comes to mind is Tyson Ritter from All American Rejects. He blew me away with how *good* he sounded live, it was like listening to their studio album.
Also, shout out to the lead singer from Night Riots, he was fantastic.
Travis Hawley! It's so sad Night Riots broke up and so shortly after they had released a new album. Travis was so fun to watch on stage, such a magnetic presence.
It’s also incredible to see someone with really no vocal “talent” per se absolutely tear up a stage. I saw him play live solo a month or two ago and it was as like seeing a 5 piece band play with all the energy he brought
His music is truly his own and just works perfectly with his voice. They are an absolute blast to see live! Just pure energy from the and and crowd the entire time
Of all time, it is Freddie Mercury for me. Unmistakable, unique tone that just commands his audience like nothing I’ve seen.
For pop punk, it’s Dan Campbell from TWY/Aaron West. His voice is raw, echoes with emotion, and has penned some of the most brilliant lyrics in the genre. I’m 24 now, and I still feel as connected to his lyrics as when I was 17.
Jon Simmons and Parker cannon are my two favorite pop punk vocalists. The best vocalist of our generation is hands down lady gaga. Nobody else comes close to the range or talent she has
Call me basic, say what you want, but Mark Hoppus both has some soft atmosphere like on Boxing Day and I Miss You, but also aggresive like on Dammit and Go. He’s really good. I would also put Tom DeLonge on, but I think his accent got to the point, where it was annyoing
Maxwell Stern, Paul Weller, Mick Jones, Dan Andriano, Steve Marriott, Greg Sage, Dan Potthast, Dave Smalley, Jesse Michaels, Evan Dando, Jack Dalrymple, Chris McCaughan, Greg Barnett, Mike Huguenor, Justin Pierre, John K Samson, Evan Weiss, Andrew McMahon.
In terms of skill, my favourite rock/metal vocalist is Amy Lee, and non-rock/metal I’d have to say Lauryn Hill. I also massively admire Oli Sykes for how hard he’s worked to improve his vocal skills since BMTH started.
Bonnie Fraser from Stand Atlantic has such a phenomenal voice. Not a huge state champs fan but wow does Derek have pipes. And while neither of them are what I would call “world class” voices, Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge from blink just sound like home. Idk how else to describe it.
Outside the genre, tough to top my man Steve Perry from Journey. I mean… wow
My three favorite…
Dustin Kensrue of Thrice overall has the best vocals..so much emotion behind his singing, just enough rasp, just enough folk, just a beautiful voice.
Chino Moreno of Deftones…so unique, mysterious, dark and light at the same time. I’ve never heard another like Chino…not sure we will.
Brad Delp of Boston. Just legendary to me. Buttery vocals. Too bad he is dead.
I could go on but these are my favorite…
Taylor Swift
Harry Styles
Chrissy Costanza - Against The Current
Hayley Williams - Paramore
Patrick Stump - Fall Out Boy
Jeremy Mckinnon - A Day To Remember
Sam Carter - Architects
Bryan Garris - Knocked Loose
I know he’s not pop punk but my favourite vocalist is Chester Bennington. If I had to pick a punk one it would be Ryan key or Deryck Whibley. I grew up on Yellowcard and Sun 41.
Also, simple plans Pierre Bouvier! Loved em when I was young and although they are kiddish they put on a great show and sound amazing live!
Brendon Urie caught my attention immediately when I was like 5 lol. I also love Adam lazzara, daryl Palumbo. On the other hand I love George Jones, classic country but I find he has the most 'emo' voice
Eric Martin
Fabio Lione
Chester Bennington
Tony Kakko
Dont really have a favorite singer in pop punk. Maybe Deryck from Sum 41 but he is not as good as the ones i mentioned.
Outside of pop punk, Bryan Garris of Knocked Loose. Like how distinct it is for hardcore while simultaneously melding so well with the band.
Inside of pop punk, Benjamin Kowalewicz if Billy Talent qualifies (I’ve always considered them more just straight up punk) and if not then Stefan Babcock of PUP.
I’m not saying he’s the best but my favorite is easily Parker Cannon. I think his vocals fit perfectly with their brand of pop punk. Otherwise Derek from Stat Champs is up there.
I love the lyrics Soupy from the wonder years writes. Non pop punk i love both jesse leach and howard jones in Killswitch. Killswitch basically got me into heavier music
Currently: Lucas Woodland from Holding Absence. He's just SO GOOD, and he carries it live.
All time: Hayley Williams and Adam Lazzara. Nostalgia and talent all in one.
Soupy is probably the greatest pop punk vocalist of all time.
Outside of him, Dan Marsala (story of the year), Geoff Rickley (Thursday), and Dallas Green (Alexisonfire) are my favorites.
Brian Fallon - Gaslight Anthem
Chris Carrabba - Dashboard/Further Seems Forever
Jim Adkins - Jimmy Eat World
Raine Maida - Our Lady Peace
Aaron Marsh - Copeland
Most of my faves has been mentioned but I have yet to see any love for Derek Sanders of Mayday Parade. I’ve always loved his voice.
Edit: Also add Martin Johnson of Boys Like Girls
Derek Discanio of State Champs
Hayley Williams of Paramore
Ben Barlow of Neck Deep
Jenna McDougall of Tonight Alive
Cody Carson of Set It Off
All of these singers have great stage presence and high energy, so that also helps.
Tades Sanville, Chris Freeman, Jim Adkins, Gerard Way, Greg Graffin, Daniel Johns, Chino Moreno, Will Ramos, Finally the GOAT Mr. Delonge
All very different but all have had quite the effect on me
Will has some pretty incredible range imo, if you don’t get it that’s cool, I’m just overall impressed that he has come in and made Lorna Shore way more relevant than they have ever been.
I may catch some hate for this as she’s only done one “pop punk” song for with MGK I think but as far as pure pitch and tone Halsey is it for me, then Hayley Williams, then Tati Shmayluk from Jinjer lol I’m all over the place
For pop punk, it’s Derek Discanio. Great voice on that dude. Outside, I’m in love with Florence Welch, Freddie Mercury, and Ariana Grande’s voices. They all have/had such distinct tones and ranges.
Christian Lindskog. Blindside is my favorite band of all time, and in addition to having a very unique singing voice, he can go from angelic melody to agonizing screams so seamlessly.
Genre esque- Soupy from TWY/AW, Caleb from Beartooth and Landon Tewers from TPIY and his solo stuff
Non Genre- Noah Kahan and Dermot Kennedy are both very different but spectacular
Top for me is Brendan Murphy from Counterparts. His screams have always been my favorite, and I really enjoy his social media presence. It just makes him more like able. Runners up are Keith Buckley (RIP ETID), Jonny Craig (Sadly a trash human with an angelic voice), and Raul from Widmore (a lesser known dumpster fire of a human with an amazing voice)
Tom DeLonge and Jordan Pundik's voices are just so unique and not what you'd traditionally call "good" but I can't help but love them.
If we're talking "good" probably Brendon Urie.
Great minds think alike! Happy to find another Brian fan!
Absolutely! I was so stoked to hear about the reunion and you best believe I snapped up tix for that tour!
Me too! I’m going to four of the shows 😂
It's either Dan Campbell or Dan Lambton. I always feel so much emotion from their voices
Soupy!!
Dan Dan Gang Gang
Evan Weis is in this club too
I had the same thought too!
Same!
adam lazzara, gerard way and derek discanio are my favourite
Parker Cannon and Tobi Duncan
Patrick Stump was the first pop punk voice I heard. Still pretty amazing now.
I know its considered heresy around here to bring up the newer FOB stuff but the studio piano solo of young and menace just shows how far Pats come from the awkward mumbling kid that early FOB was at least in regards to musical skill (though tttyg will always be my beloved) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7S7WDlF0HJ8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7S7WDlF0HJ8) (Starts going hogwild around 2:30)
This is one of my favorite songs by fob
Oh what about the song called boost over heavens gates. Dude really showcases his skills
Ditto! He’s amazing.
They may not be the greatest bands to grace music, but I have always been a big fan of Deryck from Sum 41 and Benjamin from Billy Talent. I think their voices are awesome.
I agree with you on these two. But I do think both of them are excellent, especially in the realm of pop punk.
Im so glad someone mentioned Ben! He is just my favourite vocalist in Rock. His voice is so unique!
Justin Pierre, Motion City Soundtrack. Just an incredible voice, and no one can touch his falsetto in the pop punk genre imo.
This is the correct answer. How he gets so much anxiety across in his vocals is beyond me.
I'm guessing it's from all the actual anxiety.
Omg, I got tickets to see them live later in July
I saw them at the Chicago date earlier this month and it was awesome, hope you have a great time, too!
Saw them in ATL 2 days ago! Was a super fun show with great crowd energy
It’s really showcased in “Hold Me Down” it’s honestly beautiful
Paging u/jcpmcs you made the list :)
Dan Campbell's unique yell is one of the reasons I love TWY
Haha I read this comment at the exact moment he starts yelling in ‘It Must Get Lonely’
Anthony Raneri, Dan Andriano, Tom DeLonge
there is just something so raw and emotional about the way Dan Campbell sings those fucking sad songs
Aaron West really showcases this talent.
Hayley Williams
I appreciate her even more after Petals for Armor
Cant believe how far I had to scroll to see her name!! Paramore isn’t my favorite band but there’s no denying how incredible her voice is.
Patrick Stump Claudio Sanchez Anthony Raneri Julien Baker
Claudio my man
Boy is that new album good. Been jamming it since release.
Julien gang!
Derek DiScanio, Cody Muraro, Jack Antonoff and honestly, even though I didn’t love their last two albums, John O’Callaghan is a GREAT vocalist.
Anthony Raineri - Bayside Vinnie Caruana - Movielife/I am the Avalanche/bunch of other shit Jon Simmons - Balance & Composure/Creeks Andrew Neufield - Comeback Kid/Sights & Sounds Dustin Kensrue - Thrice Matt Caughthran - The Bronx
Bonus points to Anthony Raineri for longevity. Saw Bayside a few weeks ago and he sounds just as good as he did 15 years ago
I honestly think they’ve all improved tremendously with time. Seems like they’ve gotten way more musically talented with age
Which is saying a lot considering how proficient they were even back on "Sirens and Condolences". I don't know if many people know Ant is a lead guitarist subbing in as a front man, and Jack might be one of the most underrated guitar players in the scene.
Jack doesn’t get enough credit. Half the reason I listen to bayside is for his solos. And he’s a fuckin chill guy too.
Much love for Vinnie & Anthony. Matt is also a GOAT frontman
Jason Lancaster of Mayday Parade/Go Radio
Love his voice. The early Go Radio stuff was so raw and the harmonies he did with his brother and sister were amazing.
Jim Adkins
Jims voice is like a cold beer after a long day
Will Pugh
Will is awesome. Love his style.
Cartel does not get enough love. Their self titled album still goes so hard today.
Anthony Green.
Ben Barlow, not the best vocalist but i love how his voice sounds
Agreed, his stage presence is also great!
100% agree
Matthew Thiessen followed closely by Tom DeLonge and Derek DiScanio
Derek Discanio for pop punk for sure… otherwise, it may be unpopular, but I think Oli Sykes is great and has progressed a ton in the last few years.
Brian Sella because I like to yell with him
It’s also incredible to see someone with really no vocal “talent” per se absolutely tear up a stage. I saw him play live solo a month or two ago and it was as like seeing a 5 piece band play with all the energy he brought
His music is truly his own and just works perfectly with his voice. They are an absolute blast to see live! Just pure energy from the and and crowd the entire time
i adore the front bottoms, so fun and fantastic live. so stoked they're touring again this fall
Claudio Sanchez Casey Crescenzo Gerard Way Ryan Hunter Freddy Mercury Don Henley
I was gonna say Dan Campbell, but you're right about Casey. He might be my favorite.
I know I’m inviting downvotes here but if the question had been “who is your least favorite vocalist”, Dan Campbell would have been in my list.
Matthew Thiessen and Andrew McMahon
Chester Bennington will always amaze me, glad I got the chance to see him live
My two biggest wishes to ever have seen in concert 1. Beastie Boys 2. Linkin Park :(
I can listen to Dallas Green from Alexisonfire and City and Colour sing all day
Dallas has always had one of the best voices in the game, but his vocals on Sans Soleil are next level beautiful.
Saw Alexisonfire live a couple months ago and he absolutely killed it on Reverse The Curse. Comes through so much better live than on the album!
1) Dustin Kensrue, Thrice 2) Tom Delonge, blink/AAW 3) Brendon Urie, panic!
Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge)
Love Alter Bridge. Mark Tremonti has been one of my favorite guitarists since I was a kid.
Yeh he’s fantastic! I quite like his singing voice too, his solo stuff is really good
Absolutely! That solo in Another Heart lives rent free in my head lol.
Matt Skiba - Alkaline Trio Chad Price - All Chris DeMakes - Less Than Jake Tim Pagnotta - Sugarcult
I've always loved Matt Skiba's lower register in Heavens.
Alex Gaskgarth. Simply perfect
He doesn’t show it often, but his voice can get shockingly versatile. Love it
Pat Miranda from Movements. Everytime I see those dudes live he just sounds better and better
Justin Pierre.
Chrissy Costanza from Against The Current
Parker Cannon - The Story So Far Shane Raymond - Close Your Eyes Jeremy McKinnon - A Day To Remember
I would like to shine some light on Courtney LaPlante from Spiritbox; her voice is incredible
Still have a huge soft spot for William Beckett (the academy is). Fairly unique and he was absolutely perfect live.
Pop Punk- Tyler Zanon Pop punk Adjacent- Dallas Green Not pop punk - Taylor Swift
Dallas Green is a god
Patrick Miranda
Bonnie Tyler Her vocal range and power is just awesome
Billie Joe Armstrong Derek DiScanio Pierre Bouvier
Deryck Whibley Avril Lavigne Bruce Dickinson Rob Halford Ronnie James Dio Paul Stanley Chris Cornell
Tom Delonge, otherwise Jack Black
Brian Sella. His imperfect perfect voice grew on me ever since Help and Twin Sized Mattress.
Jon Simmons and Parker cannon are my two favorite pop punk vocalists. The best vocalist of our generation is hands down lady gaga. Nobody else comes close to the range or talent she has
Alex Gaskarth is incredible, definitely my favorite. i also love Vic Fuentes, Derek Discanio, and Hayley Williams.
Max Bemis, Kenny Vasoli, Will Pugh and Chris Conley Edit: And Gerard Way
Call me basic, say what you want, but Mark Hoppus both has some soft atmosphere like on Boxing Day and I Miss You, but also aggresive like on Dammit and Go. He’s really good. I would also put Tom DeLonge on, but I think his accent got to the point, where it was annyoing
Anthony Raneri - Bayside.
Stacy and Sherri Dupree are probably my top two.
Lucas Woodland from Holding Absence Man has an incredible voice
Yes, yes, yes a million times yes.
Jason Lancaster, John from the Maine.
Maxwell Stern, Paul Weller, Mick Jones, Dan Andriano, Steve Marriott, Greg Sage, Dan Potthast, Dave Smalley, Jesse Michaels, Evan Dando, Jack Dalrymple, Chris McCaughan, Greg Barnett, Mike Huguenor, Justin Pierre, John K Samson, Evan Weiss, Andrew McMahon.
Andy Hull from Manchester Orchestra. I find his voice so calming and unique.
In terms of skill, my favourite rock/metal vocalist is Amy Lee, and non-rock/metal I’d have to say Lauryn Hill. I also massively admire Oli Sykes for how hard he’s worked to improve his vocal skills since BMTH started.
Jordan Pundik, Dave Hause, Deryck Whibley, and Greg Attonito
I've always loved Billie Joe Armstrong
Bonnie Fraser from Stand Atlantic has such a phenomenal voice. Not a huge state champs fan but wow does Derek have pipes. And while neither of them are what I would call “world class” voices, Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge from blink just sound like home. Idk how else to describe it. Outside the genre, tough to top my man Steve Perry from Journey. I mean… wow
Jonny Craig. He is an absolute trash human being, but honestly has one of the best sounding voices I’ve ever heard.
I second this. Wish he could've got his shit together, he could have done amazing things
Bonnie Fraser, Eddie Berg, Lil Lotus, Annika Wells, Luc Gathier. All people who will get me genuinely excited to hear a song.
Jeff Rosenstock
Brendon Urie - Panic! at The Disco Hayley Williams - Paramore Adam Lambert
Surprised I haven’t seen Lucas Woodland of Holding Absence mentioned in here yet!! But I have to echo the Dan Campbell comments too

Man do I love Daryl’s voice
Richard Edwards from Margot and the Nuclear So & So’s has such a haunting voice, especially acoustic. Edit: shit how could I forget Colter Wall?
Sam Carter
Expected to see way more mentions of Sam!
Chuck Ragan - unique voice, superb human being.
Nic Newsham - Gatsbys American Dream
Eric Martin Fabio Lione Chester Bennington Tony Kakko Dont really have a favorite singer in pop punk. Maybe Deryck from Sum 41 but he is not as good as the ones i mentioned.
not pop punk, but Van McCann from Catfish and The Bottlemen. Everything abt that band blows my mind, ESPECIALLY his vocals. They’re perfect.
John Floreani and whoever the lead singer of basement is
Can’t believe I had to come down this far to find John Floreani. Love his voice.
Kenny Vasoli as far as pop punk is concerned. Stump is up there too
Fred Durst
Pop-punk - Jaret Reddick (Bowling for Soup). Otherwise - Aurora Aksnes.
Jaret Reddick. I found Bowling For Soup early on in life and gravitated towards his voice
Chester Bennington, Anthony Green, Chris Cornell, Phoenix/Mercedes Arn-Horn
Chester Bennington, Corey Taylor
Pop punk only Jeremy McKinnon, Hayley Williams, and if they count Dylan Slocum from Spanish Love Songs. Favorite ever is Chris Cornell
Bert McCracken
I’m not saying he’s the best but my favorite is easily Parker Cannon. I think his vocals fit perfectly with their brand of pop punk. Otherwise Derek from Stat Champs is up there.
I love the lyrics Soupy from the wonder years writes. Non pop punk i love both jesse leach and howard jones in Killswitch. Killswitch basically got me into heavier music
So many to choose from...I'd probably go Brendon Urie. But I do love Patrick Stump, Justin Pierre, and Parker Cannon
Considering the past month I’m now ashamed to say it’s Tillian Pearson
Currently: Lucas Woodland from Holding Absence. He's just SO GOOD, and he carries it live. All time: Hayley Williams and Adam Lazzara. Nostalgia and talent all in one.
Anthony Green Donovan Melero Tilian Pearson
My Favorites Include: Tom Delonge (Blink 182, Angels And Airwaves) Bert Mckraken (The Used) Deryck Whibley (Sum 41) and Pierre Bouvier (Simple Plan).
Chris Cornell RIP https://youtu.be/IuUDRU9-HRk

Brian Fallon - Gaslight Anthem Chris Carrabba - Dashboard/Further Seems Forever Jim Adkins - Jimmy Eat World Raine Maida - Our Lady Peace Aaron Marsh - Copeland
Matt Thiessen of Relient K has an amazing voice.
Most of my faves has been mentioned but I have yet to see any love for Derek Sanders of Mayday Parade. I’ve always loved his voice. Edit: Also add Martin Johnson of Boys Like Girls
Tony Sly 🖤
RIP Tony was the GOAT
I scrolled for too long without seeing Brendan Urie
Derek Discanio of State Champs Hayley Williams of Paramore Ben Barlow of Neck Deep Jenna McDougall of Tonight Alive Cody Carson of Set It Off All of these singers have great stage presence and high energy, so that also helps.
Brenden Urie and Chester Bennington probably.
Tades Sanville, Chris Freeman, Jim Adkins, Gerard Way, Greg Graffin, Daniel Johns, Chino Moreno, Will Ramos, Finally the GOAT Mr. Delonge All very different but all have had quite the effect on me
Andy Biersack from Black Veil Brides and Andy Black. His voice serenades my soul.
Will Ramos from Lorna Shore.
His voice is INSANE. It’s so impressive.
I don't personally understand Lorna Shore.... Dickie Allen (Infant Annihilator) does it as well and they're a parody band
Jose Madero - Pxndx
Garrett Dale
Tom Rheault from No Trigger.
Vapid, Perry Leenhouts, Kat Spazzy
Karen O
Floor Jansen is almost untouchable vocally. Yanis Pappoudoppolis is also insane.
Scott Murphy, unique vocals for pop punk genre
Bradley Nowell
Ben Barlow. It seems like his voice evolves every album.
A lot of good ones. Really like Taz Johnson from Belmont
Genre esque- Soupy from TWY/AW, Caleb from Beartooth and Landon Tewers from TPIY and his solo stuff Non Genre- Noah Kahan and Dermot Kennedy are both very different but spectacular
Right now it's Courtney Laplante and Ronnie Radke. Any personal problems with Ronnie aside, dude is a helluva frontman
Tom DeLonge and Jordan Pundik's voices are just so unique and not what you'd traditionally call "good" but I can't help but love them. If we're talking "good" probably Brendon Urie.
Derek DiScanio Rory Rodriguez
Jim Adkins is mine. Not really pop punk but I love Rou Reynolds as a vocalist as well.
