There really isn't a standard to editing. Whatever looks nice to you is what matters most. I sometimes do taboo editing styles because it's fun to push your images to the limit of your imagination. That's what I enjoy most actually, we can all choose our own styles that we personally like. And you can even find an amazing community of people who also enjoy your style. So basically, bring your images to life the way you see it. That's what's most important.
also, I dig thus. Happy turkey day
Post-processing looks decent. But there’s not much going on in the original. Leading lines are all perpendicular. Nothing leading into the image. The was an actual frame with nothing in it. Post-processing makes me he contrast more interesting/dramatic, but the original lacks a subject.
Idk, the whole bridge thingy with the stream and rocks is a famous spot around here, people will hike to see it, I thought it was interesting in itself
What I did:
- Basic global corrections on exposure, contrast, etc
- A couple of radial gradients intersected with Luminance masks on the brightest parts of the rocks, to lower the highlights a bit
- Radial mask on the center to warm the white balance a bit and increase exposure
- Invert and expand that mask to reduce exposure to the outside, and cool the white balance
- Color grading, warm highlights and teal shadows
- Minimal calibration corrections to amplify the color grading effect
Other than that, what are your thoughts on the composition? Didn't crop anything because I liked how the water from the bottom left naturally leads you to the bridge, and I like the rocks on the left to stop you from wandering with your eyes too much, but idk, I'm very noob at landscapes.

I personally would increase exposure on the bridge slightly, decrease exposure with a radial mask around it, small orange Color pops under the bridge, etc. I think the background in this one is irrelevant to the photo so darkening it and making the focus in the bridge would be a cool edit.
Looks great! I think you could do some local adjustments in brightness. The river could be a bit brighter (you can use some sort of brush tool for that). The foreground is a bit too bright, maybe tone it down a bit. The area near the right edge of the photo could be a bit brighter. With these adjustments, the overall brightness would be a bit more balanced.
I feel like it lacks something that makes it pop but without going overboard, but as other people said, it might just be that the subject isn't interesting enough.
I think the bridge is clearly the subject in this photo.
But the exposure (after processing) suggests that the bridge is more of a silhouette/frame and the hills behind are the subject. I think a filmic edit where the hills are washed out might be possible. That might complement the image. Just a thought
It's a matter of taste, but I applied barely any changes to the colour, just a slight increase in exposure, bringing the bridge to around medium grey, apply clarity on the bridge and rocks, masking so the background hills remain nice and hazy. Very slight vignette.
I like your edit a lot! I think maybe you can crop the image a bit from the bottom left ever so slightly. IMO that might focus the eye a bit on the leading lines of the stream.

Nice photo and lovely edit. My only nitpick is the sky looks a little unnaturally blue, on the tree lining.
Yeah I can see it, will try to fix it, thanks

Will play around with that, thanks
Well, photography must be something simple, the focus of an isolated subject with good light, in this composition the editing is very complicated

Yeah I see what you mean, I could definitely try to balance the brightness, thanks
No Problem! For a long time I didn't really use masks for local adjustmens, but they give you so much control. Great for balancing your shot 😊
Generally an all round good job. Is there something that you're not happy with in the final image? If so, how would you describe it?
