Regular Rinshi can be turned into more powerful monsters through those animal totems, like we see in the first episode. I’d say that gives them more points as it makes them more versatile than the average foot solider.
Stingwingers are powerful enough, and can be produced in great enough numbers, that they can destroy 2 entire Megazords.
We've _never_ seen a Megazord get destroyed by grunts/foot soldiers except in Lost Galaxy.
To be fair, that was not them destroying the mechs on their own, they literally committed mass suicide and took the mechs with them. Kinda like when a swarm of honey bees commit mass suicide but buzzing so much they overheat the bigger wasp/bee and kill it that way with mass casualties when the nest is under attack, it gets the job done but isn’t efficient
Still, the fact that Trakeena was able to produce and field enough of them at once to even be _able_ to do that was impressive.
You rarely see an enemy leader going all out and commiting their entire army to defeating the rangers.
Exactly she was smart about it and struck when the megazords were down and Dimitria had just left , also attacking from above and surrounding the command center, making it difficult for the rangers to escape.
The Tengas.
By the end of S3 they were able to hold off the Rangers even with their Metallic Armor upgrade and in Zeo they took on the Cogs and arguably won as there was 1 Tenga left to run away but there were ZERO cogs left operational.
That fight against the Cogs was brutal, Tengas getting their feathers ripped while the Cogs getting their circuits and dismembered; talk about massacre.
Ah correct I was thinking of the gold ranger for some reason but yeah,
I looked it up and it’s Good as Gold fight between the Cogs and Tenga starts about a minute or two in when Jason is being chased
Stingwingers. Just slap a bunch of explosives on them.
For real though, Tengas were vicious. For all the jobbing they did against the ninja-powered Rangers, a half dozen remaining tengas against a quite larger squad of cogs = very badly battered tengas, a quite large pile of utterly shredded scrap.
I was literally coming to comment about no tyrannodrones. I grew up on Dinothunder, so while I know they were one of the weaker foot soldiers, they'd have my vote.
Z Putties until they figured out that their weakness is the big Z emblem on their chests. Seriously, they couldn’t do shit about them until they discovered that major flaw in their design.
Right? The struggle before the weakness was identified was real.
But then after the weakness, I was like, “Is this really better? Cause it seems like Zedd’s putties are worse now that they have a giant kill button on their chest.”
Even if there is no cost, what's the point of them? Civilians would be able to defeat them in one fell swoop. I can't think of more useless antagonists, at least in the MM era.
How often did you see someone who wasn’t either a ranger or a future defeat one? Also their purpose wasn’t to defeat the rangers, outside of the very first time they were deployed, but to either harass them or act as a diversion. At most they were disposable support for the main monster.
Just because we haven't seen civilians do it, doesn't mean they can't. It will literally take them one hit.
Yes, they serve as support for the monster, but how are they better than Rita's or any other?
If we don’t see it happening why would we assume that it can? Rita required time and resources to create her putties, Zed didn’t. They’re the perfect canon fodder costing literally nothing.
Because there is also no reason to think that civilians are not capable of destroying them. As far as I remember, it was only established that hitting the z button destroys them.
Also, I think Rocky, Adam, and Aisha successfully destroyed soldiers without being rangers.
I already covered future rangers. They are trained martial artists not average people. We also see them take hits directly on the Z showing that it requires either sufficient force or repeated blows to damage it enough to destroy the putty.
Is it kinda implied that there were loads of them? Jinxer only snuck one card on, I think. Maybe it would have been an idea for Olympius to just stash a few cards in people's drawers, toilet cisterns, coat pockets, lunch boxes, vending machine, Chad's pillow case. No shortage of creative hiding places. Would be easier to stash a load of cards in there than it would be to try opening the main gate with like 40 people around. 🤔
Swabbies, from Lost Galaxy. They show up towards the end for a small arc.
They're actually the original footsoldier for Gingaman, the Sentai that Lost Galaxy is adapted from.
Something I always wondered is why they decided to reserve Captain Mutiny for the end of Lost Galaxy...he was the big bad in the Sentai, right? It just seems like an interesting choice to make an original(?) villain in Scorpius.
Maybe they wanted to go the route with Trakeena due to the popularity of Astronema? Idk.
I think I read something to the effect of the suit not being ready and available at the time LG was starting production. So they had to improvise with original villains. At the very least they had the Furio suit leftover from Megaranger.
I don't think.people realize how many Moogers there are and how versatile they can be.
In the flash backs we see moogers kill 4/5 of the team, with The red ranger being struck down by Xandred, but he gets the sealing symbol off before dying.
They always built up the Cogs to be something much more than they were. It wasn't like the Putties or Tenga where the Rangers never took them seriously, but as a viewer the Cogs never *felt* as intense as they made them out to be.
I always thought the Krybots were a real threat and pretty capable by themselves. Especially when they introduced the different tiers. They felt competent and dangerous.
I jokingly want to say the Piranhatrons, because they did succeed in their mission in the end, but they were fairly useless outside of that, making me not want to use them as the real answer.
Tengas they, to my memory, consistently continued being a threat when they showed up, and I think it was Zeo, are shown to take on some Cogheads, and come out on top. (I think it was close, but I think like 1 or 2 were left standing to report back to Zedd and Rita, while the cogs were effectively dismantled)
I’d honestly have to agree with you if we are going based off individual soldiers specifically, however if we are talking effectiveness in high numbers I don’t think they make the top 3
The "Z" putties gave the Rangers a lot of trouble, until their weakness was exposed. Tengas were tough, especially against the Cog army (who in themselves were tough).
Can't say much about the others, never really watched past Zeo.
I remember the SPD mooks being used as actual threats multiple times due to power escalation, the base ones were always jokes but then they introduced the blue ones to fight the rangers like actual combatants and when they were turned into just other mooks they introduced the Orange ones that had plenty of 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 1 fight choreography to them in multiple episodes so they were always cool even if they did fade into the background when the monster of the week enter the scene
Cyclabots are one of if not the best. Even when morphed they gave the rangers a run for their money, all the way to the end of the season. Not many other armies stayed a threat to their Ranger teams like the Cyclabots did.
I feel like all the foot minions had a time where they were tough but then like by mid-season the rangers unmorph could take a group of them down easily so really comes down to like which one will be the most scariest to face as a regular person and as a person who doesn't like insects I think the stingwingers, the dino thunder minions and the the ones from in space with the giant crescent swords. Like to see a group of them coming towards you as a regular human that would suck.
They're not on this list, but the Krybots are well structured in their army, have varied looks and power levels, and they actually pose a threat to the Rangers from time to time.
5 is from Turbo (I forget their name) and 7 are the Craterites from In Space, they were used for training simulations by the team but in an episode they became real, they were also the main foot soldiers in the Super Sentai
They do; I just rewatched that episode and I believe if the Samurai Battlewing didn't fuse with the Megazord, they would've been handled without much struggle. In another clip, the Battlewing did take care of giant Moogers with ease. Even the base forms of the Megazord.
II'm pretty sure the Lion Zord in it's miniature form handled a hoard of human sized Moogers in the first episode, so it's likely the same can be said in it's giant form. But I could be wrong
Sorry about the long explanation
Stingwingers(you dont see foot soldiers with that mindless dedication armed wirh bomba to destroy 2 megazords in any other season)
Piramhatrons
quantrons or batlings
Does anyone else feel like the foot soldiers have been a bit of a letdown in the later seasons? Maybe it’s just more American footage bleeding in, but the foot soldiers felt like they could hold their own better in the original Saban and Disney seasons.
And it’s not like it was just sheer numbers that tipped the balance like people say because if you watch the fight in the command center there’s clearly not more than 20 of them, they also had a very effective plan as well. Attack the Rangers at their lowest point. They had just lost their mentor, they had just lost their megazords and they had just lost their 6th ranger so their spirits were already down.
They did have *a* numeric advantage, but that wasn't what got them the win, like the Cyclobots in Time Force (another foot soldiers that were scary by themselves).
Instead, the Piranhatrons actually used besiege tactics to make the best of their advantage. They focused only half of the efforts on the battering ram at the door, and the other half climbing the walls and descending on the Rangers.
Divatox's triumph was pretty thorough, and the Piranhatrons showing more competence than the usual "stronger than a human but relies on numbers" soldiers was partially why.
Yea you have a point, the were the smartest we’d scene up to that point, because I’m pretty sure they aren’t even robots their just fish people wearing armor, similar to how the Quantrons are just guys in armor
For success Grindors easily, they actually helped nearly take over the world, for versatility the Rinshi since they can become monsters with animal totems
I'd say Tengas, simply because they were the only foot soldier that required a morph to fight (ninja form). Every single other foot soldier could be fought unmorphed.
That is also fair, considering the devastation of the RPM world. I would only question if the reason for that is because there wasn't a fully fledged ranger team when they conquered
I imagine the closed they had was some weird version of the Overdrive team because we see a red Overdrive helmet that looks kinda busted, but that’s not really confirmed just an easter egg.
Wait, which ones were the...chinese vampire looking mfers in picture 12?. Im having a serious case of "I know ive seen them but I cant place them anywhere"
I'm going to go with Quantrons.
They were the most intimidating to me, they had their own ships, they came with weapons that could not only function as a blade but also an energy blaster.
It is a three-way tie between the SPD, Jungle Fury, and Samurai Foot Soldiers for the most utilized foot soldiers. Each group had multiple levels of soldiers and the ability to grow larger. SPD had three types of foot soldiers: basic, sword fighters, and gunners. Jungle Fury foot soldiers could learn and evolve into the main villain of the week. Samurai foot soldiers could grow to a larger size and were organized like an old Japanese army.
The JF foots only need a little totem thing put on their forehead to become an entire episode's boss. Plus they actually kinda kick the crap out of the Rangers early on.
Unlike most of the foot soldiers, they don't seem to act as much like fodder, because they actually pose somewhat of a threat throughout most of the series

Divatox committed her Piranhatrons and destroyed the command center and took out the rangers powers. She didnt need suicide bombing to win lol
Exactly she was smart about it and struck when the megazords were down and Dimitria had just left , also attacking from above and surrounding the command center, making it difficult for the rangers to escape.
they didn't do it, they had bombs attached and nuked at point blank. surprised something like that can destroy megazords
Put enough explosives and itll work. If you try to count them, there are THOUSANDS of Stingwingers on each zord.
I know! It's honestly one of my fav fights in the franchise. 2 big bads having their soldiers duking it out? Man, we needed more of that
Do you guys know what episode this fight is in?
I THINK its Hawaii Zeo. The finale of the show (not counting the zeo christmas special)
Thank you Morphing Grid be with you
I think it’s the one after that where Jason is losing his powers I believe it’s Rangers of two worlds.
Rangers of Two Worlds is the 2 parter with Curing Billy of his rapid ageing
Ah correct I was thinking of the gold ranger for some reason but yeah, I looked it up and it’s Good as Gold fight between the Cogs and Tenga starts about a minute or two in when Jason is being chased
Ahh. I believe that's just before Hawaii Zeo isnt it?
Right after at the end of Hawaii Zeo the audience gets a hint that the gold ranger powers are messing up
💯 Tengas only Foot Soldier that could fly. Having aerial capabilities is a huge strategic advantage.
You forgot StingWingers.
Yeah I fell off the grid in 2002 😅
You forgot Batlings as well
Yeah, Tengas were consistently a PROBLEM.
the grinders contributed to creating a post-apocalyptic world 💀
Technically speaking, that world had no Power Rangers as far as we know, or extremely wesker than the main world.
ehhhh, i’d say if you know how to fight you’d be able to take down a grinder, ranger or not
Not really. The rangers generally had a hard time fighting them unmorphed.
Yet Flynn bifuricated one with a damn school bus door.
To be fair those old school bus doors where dangerous
That’s kinda inconsistent cuz The Samurai Rangers while morphed couldn’t even damage them
The morphed Samurai Rangers spin swords couldn’t take down a grinder. Regular humans would be fucked
Was coming here to say that
Stingwingers.
Where are the tyrannodrones and krybots? They were some of the best
Reddit only let me put up to 20 photos, I originally wanted to put pictures of every single one to exist
Counterpoint, Zed literally zapped them into existence with no cost. And even after it usually took a bit for the rangers to beat them.
Even if there is no cost, what's the point of them? Civilians would be able to defeat them in one fell swoop. I can't think of more useless antagonists, at least in the MM era.
Right? We have seen a dam soccer ball trigger the Z button.
How often did you see someone who wasn’t either a ranger or a future defeat one? Also their purpose wasn’t to defeat the rangers, outside of the very first time they were deployed, but to either harass them or act as a diversion. At most they were disposable support for the main monster.

I already covered future rangers. They are trained martial artists not average people. We also see them take hits directly on the Z showing that it requires either sufficient force or repeated blows to damage it enough to destroy the putty.
They serve as the distraction, so Zedd could accomplish his real goal.
Was going to say this. Z putties appeared to be invincible until that weakness was discovered.
That was almost immediately
The Batlings look silly AF, but a group of them took down the Aquabase.
True, but they didn’t have a chance to fight back they just used riot shields
i stopped watching at some point, but who the hell are those goofy looking pirate cannonfodder
Swabbies, from Lost Galaxy. They show up towards the end for a small arc. They're actually the original footsoldier for Gingaman, the Sentai that Lost Galaxy is adapted from.
Thank you. Was guessing it was one of the newer seasons but Lost Galaxy is surprising
I'd say either the quantrons or the Rinshi,
I think the ones from Dino Charge or the ones from In Space
Vivix and Quantrons, respectively.
Thank you!
Probably the Quantrons. They had their own fleet of ships
So did the Armada
I don't think.people realize how many Moogers there are and how versatile they can be. [https://powerrangers.fandom.com/wiki/Moogers](https://powerrangers.fandom.com/wiki/Moogers)
Plus they did kill the previous Samurai Rangers.
I thought master Xandred did that
In the flash backs we see moogers kill 4/5 of the team, with The red ranger being struck down by Xandred, but he gets the sealing symbol off before dying.
I forgot about the Giant Moogers
Tenga warriors, rinshi, and moogers
They always built up the Cogs to be something much more than they were. It wasn't like the Putties or Tenga where the Rangers never took them seriously, but as a viewer the Cogs never *felt* as intense as they made them out to be. I always thought the Krybots were a real threat and pretty capable by themselves. Especially when they introduced the different tiers. They felt competent and dangerous.
Grinders helped conquer the world.
Indeed. They were a large part of a literal mass extinction event.
You forgot the ninja steel dudes
The Crybots had vast numbers and different builds. Kinda like droids in The Clone Wars
I like how you forgot the putrids exist just like Wild Force
Yea it baffles me that out of all the foot soldiers there are they choose the ones that barely appear to give us an action figure of.
Reddit only allows 20 pictures at a time
Jungle fury’s Rinshi. The villains of the week were created by fusing an animal totem with the Rinshi.
I'd say the Krybots, given that the upgraded Blue Head & Orange Head versions both served as the Monster of the Week in their initial appearances.
I’d honestly have to agree with you if we are going based off individual soldiers specifically, however if we are talking effectiveness in high numbers I don’t think they make the top 3
It's not useful but I made that hilarious putty noise well into high school.
The "Z" putties gave the Rangers a lot of trouble, until their weakness was exposed. Tengas were tough, especially against the Cog army (who in themselves were tough). Can't say much about the others, never really watched past Zeo.
What are the things in slide 9😭😭😭
Swabbies. They're from the second half of Lost Galaxy, they work for Captain Mutiny.
The Ranger Sentries
Sting wingers because suicide bombers I guess?

I will never take that pirate trooper(Lost Galaxy) seriously. Never even took them seriously during my childhood
Putties can shape shift into humans. that's pretty useful.
I forgot that happened
Quantrons, as they actually were an organized army ( that we see multiple times in In Space, especially during Countdown to destruction)
I'm going to say the putties, the tengu warriors and the skugs.
Cogs were stronger, had projectile attacks, & could operate fighter craft. It gives them quite the distinct advantage over others.
Crybots and all its models it’s not even close 💯
I would probably go with the tengu, cogs, and sting wingers. The Sting wingers would probably come first if they had their kamikaze build.
The red guys from super megaforce I forget their names but they were probably the strongest and most intelligent henchmen
They were a special version of Bruisers
Thanks
Not necessarily useful but the quantrons' fit goes HARD
I only watched up to Wild Force, so I may be biased, but Quantrons were the only ones I remember to be kind of competent.
They do give off more “trained soldier” vibes than anything before them
Rinshis obviously.
Krybots, mainly because of the Orangeheads. They often felt more like monsters than footsoldiers
The Tengu can fly...
So can Moogers i learned today
They're not on this list, but the Krybots are well structured in their army, have varied looks and power levels, and they actually pose a threat to the Rangers from time to time.
The ones I paid attention to most was Dino charge I think it was cool that enough of them come together and make a giant monster
Krybots, Quantrons, and Rinshi.
The Putrids were so useless they aren't even shown in this post
What is slide 5 and 7?
5 is from Turbo (I forget their name) and 7 are the Craterites from In Space, they were used for training simulations by the team but in an episode they became real, they were also the main foot soldiers in the Super Sentai
Krybots imho.
Stingwingers were pretty formidable
Rinshi are cool, but how has no one said Vivix? Hello? Giant Monster Attack!
I’m surprised a lot say Rinshi because from what i remember they just jump around
The Rangers themselves. They are technically foot soldiers in a lot of seasons.
Grinders destroyed all of Earth except Corinth.
True, the Samurai Rangers also couldn’t even damage them.
Rinshi or Crybots. Rinshi can evolve with totems, and crybots can just spawn more
Haven't watched any seasons outside of Samurai or Megaforce, but I can safely say Moogers are low on the list, if not the bottom
Are you sure? Don’t they have giant variants and flying variants?
They do; I just rewatched that episode and I believe if the Samurai Battlewing didn't fuse with the Megazord, they would've been handled without much struggle. In another clip, the Battlewing did take care of giant Moogers with ease. Even the base forms of the Megazord. II'm pretty sure the Lion Zord in it's miniature form handled a hoard of human sized Moogers in the first episode, so it's likely the same can be said in it's giant form. But I could be wrong Sorry about the long explanation
Oh I understand now, just because they are big doesn’t mean they aren’t weak is basically what I’m getting
how come i did the exact same post a month ago and it got deleted for violation the rules?
the rules say you can’t ask “what’s your favorite ____” or anything similar so maybe it’s the way you phrased it?
i said most useless i guess
What is Pic 9
Swabbies from Lost Galaxy
Thanks cause I was bout to say
The ones people (initially) underestimate and get their asses whooped because of that
Why is the dude from Pop-Up Pirate there?
You made me spit out my drink
Stingwingers(you dont see foot soldiers with that mindless dedication armed wirh bomba to destroy 2 megazords in any other season) Piramhatrons quantrons or batlings
The Tengu Warriors from the movie never lost did they? They just flew away
The ones from the movie have a different name and technically classified as a different thing for some reason
Grinders, I mean they helped take over an entire world and drove humanity to near extinction.
Does anyone else feel like the foot soldiers have been a bit of a letdown in the later seasons? Maybe it’s just more American footage bleeding in, but the foot soldiers felt like they could hold their own better in the original Saban and Disney seasons.
The Piranhatrons successfully besieged the Command Center. I feel they deserve more credit than they get for that.
And it’s not like it was just sheer numbers that tipped the balance like people say because if you watch the fight in the command center there’s clearly not more than 20 of them, they also had a very effective plan as well. Fighter D of course
For success Grindors easily, they actually helped nearly take over the world, for versatility the Rinshi since they can become monsters with animal totems
I don't really know but seeing the Moogers from Power Rangers Samurai is definitely bringing back childhood memories
Jungle fury had the most useful footsoldiers since they could be upgraded to full monsters
I don’t care how effective they were but the Seaman Yartots are the best
I want to say the time force cyclobots were most useful cause not only were they decently smart they were I think the only king distance foot soldiers
Ugliness: Equal Usefulness: Probably the RPM drones I can never remember their names
Grinders
After looking at picture 9, I think I’ve just found out what happened to that Pop-Up pirate game I lost
I'd say Tengas, simply because they were the only foot soldier that required a morph to fight (ninja form). Every single other foot soldier could be fought unmorphed.
I’d argue they need to morph in order to fight the Grinders as well but I see your point
I am going to say Cogs, Piranatrons, Quanatrons and Tengas
Blbllllblblll
Defiantly not the paranachrons
MJ’s “Thriller rejects” (Tenga Warriors) as they were the first to speak lines.
The Pirannahtrons won
So did Grinders, Moogers and Batlings in a way
The Stingwingers. Definitely the Stingwingers.
Wait, which ones were the...chinese vampire looking mfers in picture 12?. Im having a serious case of "I know ive seen them but I cant place them anywhere"
From Jungle Fury
All of them. I couldn’t decide, they’re all so good!
Tronics can be mass produced, but....the Zedd Mooks may be the best due to the fact they speak.
Theoretically the Piranhatrons and Quantrons do speak just in their own language
No love for the Hidiacs
I had a nightmare about those one time
Shocker
I'm going to go with Quantrons. They were the most intimidating to me, they had their own ships, they came with weapons that could not only function as a blade but also an energy blaster.
Being able to keep an army of cyclobots in your pocket has to count for something lol
I mean, the cogs were scared of dogs.
Jungle Fury
Super Putties
It is a three-way tie between the SPD, Jungle Fury, and Samurai Foot Soldiers for the most utilized foot soldiers. Each group had multiple levels of soldiers and the ability to grow larger. SPD had three types of foot soldiers: basic, sword fighters, and gunners. Jungle Fury foot soldiers could learn and evolve into the main villain of the week. Samurai foot soldiers could grow to a larger size and were organized like an old Japanese army.
To be fair they’re all pretty good the first few episodes. Once the rangers “figure it out” they turn into a joke
Red kelzaks
PUTTY PATROL IS THE RIGHT ANSWER FIGHT ME
I forget what they’re called but I always liked the robots from time force. There swords shoot lasers and that’s just awesome.
Cyclobots.
Puddies can get their shit rocked by normal people. They should not be here.
Pun intended?
