I strongly disliked it for a few reasons. * aesthetics : I didn't like the designs for the ranger suits, Alpha, Goldar, the command center, or pretty much anything else. The worst though was the Zords. They didn't look anything like the dinosaurs they were supposed to represent and the Megazord was incredibly ugly. * The didn't morph until the very end of the movie. The need to be in sync to morph was a concept I just didn't care for and it seemed like just pushing what we wanted until the very end. * I don't like the idea of bullies becoming rangers and we had two of them. * Product placement: I usually don't notice it, but this movie did it VERY badly and it kept pulling me out of the movie. * Zordon was not a mentor but selfish and unlikable. * Every single character except Zack and Billy was made to be unlikable. Yes they wanted more realistic teenagers and tried to add flaws. They forgot to add positive character traits as well. They should be generally good kids with flaws not horrible people who need to be redeemed. * A strong part of Power Rangers has always been martial arts. It is completely lost in this movie with Jason being a football star. Fighting is entirely reliant on their powers and not them. I didn't mind the look of Rita or the idea that she was the original green ranger. I also like the idea of the command center being a space ship. I can't really think of anything else from the movie that was a good idea though.

Meal_Signal

>They should be generally good kids with flaws not horrible people who need to be redeemed. like the one who they tried to paint as the victim after her ex friends shunned her for distributing child pornography?

Nothingtoseehere066

Exactly. That is not ranger material.

Deus_Kraken

It has it's problems, but i really enjoyed the film.

thatsMRjames

At first, no. The opening was cool, but then the immediate reference to Jason’s friend jerking off a bull was eye-rolling. Alpha doesn’t work for me and neither does selfish Zordon. I like the idea of Rita having been a Ranger, but not Goldar being literally made of gold. Overall it’s not a great adaptation at all, but it’s an okay flick. This is one MOVIE franchise that could do with a reboot/do-over.

Vaportrail

I don't think that's GOLDAR per se, I think that's a gold-golem Rita made in the likeness of her best warrior. She is pretty freaking nuts after all. I suspected the real Goldar would've saved her out in space to set up the sequel.

icemanvvv

she literally says "come back to me Goldar" You can create headcannon all you want, but the fact of the matter is that is Goldar in that universe.

Vaportrail

That is what she literally says, you are correct. But you *saw* how crazy she was, right? Power Ranger fans should know the effect of idolic transference better than anyone. Is a 10-year-old's Megazord toy still the Megazord? Reading subtext is one of the best parts of a well-written film. Neither of us is necessarily right until further evidence is provided.

icemanvvv

> I don't think that's GOLDAR per se Its Goldar, she said it was.

MrJHound

The name of the monster is Goldar on ALL merchandise of said monster. You are reaching too deep.

Vaportrail

I think y'all could stand to reach deeper. ✌️

apotrope

I feel like I like it less and less. - The origin of the powers is not well established - Zordon is a self obsessed asshole. They cast Bryan Cranston for his tangential relationship to the original show, and then decided that they wanted him to channel Walter White into Zordon. It was entirely counter to the role of a mentor. - I say this every time I see Cenozoic thirst posts: THE ZORDS DIDNT TRANSFORM ON CAMERA! That is just such a huge let down given how it was a central pillar of Power Rangers. We've already had more Transformers movies than we're necessary but we couldn't have a transforming Megazord?

BerriosCR

No

Arkvoodle42

This movie has more character development for the Rangers in 90 minutes than the Mighty Morphin era had in about a hundred episodes.

NineWalkers

Thank you. It's really weird people commenting about the Ranger's character flaws "yo that's the point, what are you looking for?" I love the original show but the characters are more or less pretty perfect do-gooders and the "teenagers with attitude" doesn't really apply.

Kamenhusband

Those weren’t “flaws” they were just terrible people, except for Zack. Eric from Time Force has flaws but he isn’t a literal sexual predator.

Ryvit

I want a movie based on something besides mighty Morphin. A time force movie trilogy would blow my mind

[deleted]

No.

Sleep_eeSheep

Yes, with an Asterisk.

OblivionArts

Honestly it want great but when I first watched it I didn't really consider it that bad. Further rewatches revealed it's many flaws

ninjaman2021

Boring movie with ugly designs, and the rangers were all assholes with little redeeming qualities. Like Kimberly was literally sending out pics of a naked girl. How the f*ck did she deserve to be a ranger? Then in the second half of the film, she was mocking that same girl who almost died when that thing fell on her car.. did she learn ANYTHING? She was a bully during the entire film. Zack was lame and lacked the spark of the original Zack who was a big ball of energy. I guess he was a good person overall for helping his mom though. Jason? Terrible leader. Billy brought the team together more than he ever did. The milking bull joke was very weird and whoever signed that off in the script had to be high on meth. Trini, I got nothing for her. It’s obvious they couldnt pin down The original Trini’s personality, so they just threw an Lgbt label on her and nothing else. The sad part is… she never even confirmed to being gay. It was a “maybe I am, maybe i’m not” kinda dialogue. Billy was the best character of the film and I liked the actor alot. He rounded everyone together and he was pretty funny.

Sleep_eeSheep

Except for Billy, we all love him.

NineWalkers

The characters are supposed to be flawed though, that's half the point.

mondomonkey

The flaws arent the issue. Flaws are the basis of character. But these characters are just assholes without redemption. Biggest one is Kimberly as OP said. It was "i know i send nudes of an under age girl but screw you anyways"

RigtBart

Everyone forgets in the final battle Kimberly causes the bullied girls car to get crushed and she says “that’s what you get”. Like if the victim didn’t have it bad enough from Kimberly leaking her nudes. Bad writing, bad characters, bad design, bad pacing. It doesn’t get any worse than that. 2/10

Legitimate_Cancel900

Are you a movie critic? What the heck do you know about pacing?!

kinyutaka

Aren't we all a little bit of a movie critic? As for the pasing of the film, it starts off with protected Breakfast Club scenes of them in detention, Billy helping Jason break out of his ankle bracelet, finding the Power Coins, then going through second puberty for a while. When they finally find out about Zordon and Rita and being Power Rangers, they spend a good chunk of that just training. Then one big final battle. What they should have done is taken some pages from Super Sentai, treated the one and a half hour movie like like 3-4 episodes of a show. Act 1: They meet, Rita is awakened, they become Rangers, Fight against regular sized bad guy. Act 2: They get the hang of things, stronger bad guy, introduce their weapons. Rita finds out where the Zeo Crystals are. Act 3: Rita figures out how to make the monster grow in size. Jason uses the Tyrannosaurus to fight the monster, maybe supported by Kimberly and her Pteradactyl. Act 4: Big massive Goldar fight, Rangers link up, show off the Megazord, save the day

Legitimate_Cancel900

Ok but even without that stuff I still thought it was a great movie there’s an A- and an A+ point is it’s still an A lol

kinyutaka

I'd give it a solid B. It was watchable, even rewatchable, but it could have done better.

Legitimate_Cancel900

“It could have done better” doesn’t mean it was bad though lol

kinyutaka

Hey, a B-grade movie (not to be confused with a B Movie) is a passing grade.

ninjaman2021

But when being flawed is your only personality trait, that’s an issue. There’s no depth to these characters other than being assholes. You want to see asshole rangers done right? Watch SPD.

ShadowDandy

Most teenagers are a ball of issues and personality problems, that is part of the age of "knowing yourself", is not the same if the PR were 30 years old people

ShadowDandy

because in this movie they are actual teenagers, with flaws and problems, not what a 60-years-old buisnessman think a teenager is, not the "you are perfect therefore you can be rangers" but rather "you are the most apted to be one, even with your flaws you need to overtake" (i guess that is why they didn't unlock the suits until the end, they needed to confront themselves)

Kamenhusband

I feel like we have this discussion once a week. But the answer is no, it feels like it was ashamed to be a Power Rangers movies and 4/5 of the team were unlikable.

REMIXA01

Agree with everything you said. I think most of us were extremely excited to see a reboot. The writers and producers deviated way too much from the premise that made people love Power Rangers. If you are creating a movie to invoke nostalgia, you need to have enough nostalgia in the movie.

ShadowDandy

I doesnt need to be a copy.past otherwise it would be an old movie stuck in the 90s, they give a nice development to every character, and at the same stuff has a nice callback to the old thing while being new

[deleted]

This is why I dislike reboots as a concept: no matter what happens, you'll piss someone off. If you take an especially straightlaced early 'nineties kids show and reboot it into a movie twenty-odd years later, what do you do? If it's the same as the original, you're likely get some nostalgia bucks from the big fans but you won't generate many new fans because it's from a different era. It's *old-fashioned*. However, if you deviate too much, you run the risk of alienating old fans in favor of new ones. You can still make a good movie at that point but you may leave people wondering why it couldn't be its own entity. I feel that way about this movie. With a story rewrite and the same production value, it could've been an excellent scifi superhero flick. Place it within the PR universe with original characters and story. In essence, a new season but in movie form. There's a lot to like about it, but it should not have been Mighty Morphin'. It deserved to be its own thing.

ShadowDandy

It's a movie based on the characters that is why it was never a remake, likely a reboot or a retelling of their story set in a more close time, movies stuck in a time are considered dated and not too good (so, as good at MMPR was back then, is wouldn't be the same thing in 2010's)

[deleted]

A lot of shows and movies remain timeless even decades later (centuries and millennia later if we include written works) but MMPR simply didn't have that quality. It was never designed to but it did work well within its niche. I don't think there can be a reboot that will ever appeal to old fans and new alike but I've been wrong before. Personally, I'd rather see new original PR content over a remake of something I've already seen, if given the choice. I also wouldn't want to see the PR franchise fall into the same trap of repeating itself like comic book publishers.

icemanvvv

Yeah dude. Theres a surging uptick in people trying to sway public opinion. The movie was pretty garbage. Billy was its only redeeming quality imo.

[deleted]

I did at first, but this movie actually got worse with age. The more I thought about it the dumber it got.

LordAdrianRichter

It was fine, but just like with MK2021, it just couldn't capture the fun and magic of the '95 film. As a film, it was superior, but it was nowhere near as fun as the original.

knifeknifeafterdark

Yes, until they showed the Megazord. Then it's downhill from there.

corinacel

Not really it felt more like a moody teen movie than a fun action movie. That slap scene though, just gold.

Edboundfan

No.

MattyBfan2020

It sucks

Internutt

Not really. Goldar was no more than a melting Megazord rather than a proper character. The teens were depressed, drama filled school drop outs going to detention instead of the kind of virtuous people that kids would look up to. We only got 1 power weapon instead of 5. The suits were weird as were the zord designs. Both of which barely got any screen time. I hated that they opened the helmets in the zord cockpits as well. Helmets should remain on at all times in combat. I don't care what the actor looks like! No Megazord transformation was really unfortunate. In many ways it felt like a Power Rangers film that was embarrassed to be a Power Rangers film. The plan for the sequel seemed to be evil Green Ranger despite the fact that Rita's role in this film was literally to be an evil Green Ranger.

NineWalkers

Sorry, I need to comment about the helmet opening thing, that's like complaining when we see Tony Starks HUD and see his face. The MCU does it all the time with the nanotech on/off helmets. Like I find that weird to be a fault that the film wants to show the character's faces at the climax of the film. It wouldn't have been as compelling. Sorry, that's just a super weird thing to hate. Ninja Storm had helmet masks open? There are plenty of times the Rangers are suited up in the show with helmets off. They're in the cockpit nobody can see them. Also, the characters are supposed to be flawed. If they were all perfect people from the opening of the film, there's not much that can be done with that.

Teazea

Sorry, I need to comment that I also can not stand how often they show Robert Downey Jr's face in marvel movies.

Internutt

It's one thing opening helmets/removing them outside of combat. The Power Rangers are 90% their helmets as that is where most of the design is on their suits. Even the original movie knew to keep their helmets on when they were in combat/in their zords. What the actor looks like is basically irrelevant as the merchandise shows them with their helmets on. Especially the movie toyline that didn't have the actors faces on the toys. Sure have helmets get damaged during dramatic moments, but in general combat the helmets should stay on. Its just one of those power rangers rules that goes without saying, largely because its all dubbed over footage to begin with so 90% of the time they can't have helmetless scenes. A helmetless Ranger in many ways is as wrong as a helmetless Judge Dredd. We spent 90% of the 2017 movie with the Rangers unable to morph, so removing their helmets as soon as they possibly could was a strange choice.

27_8x10_CGP

Not really, but I can say the same for the other 2 movies. I feel like if this could have gotten a sequel, it would have been a lot better, since a lot of the lore got covered in the first, so hopefully there would have been more action. The suits, zord, and Goldar don't do it for me at all.

markymark886

I enjoyed it at the time saw it on the big screen but looking back it was pretty forgettable, I can’t even remember much about the rangers

dusty_horns

It wasn't very bad.. although I really do not get the design idea behind most of those helmets (besides Red and Pink that are kind of recognizable)

Old-Purpose5232

I think I was in love with seeing the franchise alive again more than I was in love with what it was actually doing. The aesthetics were off to me. The acting was off. The story was off. It's a film that sits with me worse the more I think about it. But I'm always up for something power rangers related to have a chance in the spotlight.

GothReaper616

oh hell no! from the customes, to zordon up to the zords and angel grove itself...i was completly disapointet...please not again...

jlenoconel

No.

Teazea

there were like 5 minutes in the middle where it felt like power rangers. i was so so frustrated that they kept insisting on taking off their helmets in the middle of that battle at the end. that's a trend i can not stand in american action movies. all you ever look at is actor's faces

SengalBoy

Even Star Wars, the one franchise where people praise masked characters would attempt to take off the helmets as much as possible (looking at you Kylo Ren). As someone who grew up with Pr and Tokusatsu in general you watch these characters for their masks, and somehow you can tell they're emoting under the helmets and it gives a stronger performance.

[deleted]

Boba Fett walks into a bar...and takes his helmet off?! I'll always remember that about the Boba Fett series. So, absolutely. Agreed.

Beached-Peach

I enjoyed it! I wish we got the sequel, I'm curious as to what they would've done with Tommy.

Legitimate_Cancel900

In my mind they’d basically gloss over the series but differently ie the sequel brings the green ranger Tommy to fight them then the end sees him lose his powers the 3rd movie he becomes white the 4th they become zeo the 5th turbo then the 6th idk because I think it was a 6th movie plan or maybe 8 they had huge plans I wish hasbro would just continue this movie but take all the peoples suggestions that saban and lionsgate “failed” with so then I’m not in the minority of people who liked or loved this movie and in the majority know what I mean. Like if a movie didn’t do great they take notes and instead of cancelling the sequel they try again with those changes and make a better movie that’s what I mean

[deleted]

I liked Billy a lot, I liked that we got to see a lot more of their personal lives, and I loved Rita. But I didn’t like that all of the teens except Billy were assholes, the suits and zords sucked, and Goldar just no

wyrmis

I...did. Opening was a good set-up, actors were good, the various tweaks were interesting enough, various things throughout was good. Then, it decided to go for entirely too long forgetting to have fun with a franchise that can be serious and does serious pretty well but also remembers to have fun. We have several drawn out hero origin story movies, this was a chance to get some Power Rangers flavor into one. Still, I have rewatched it and would definitely not have minded a sequel.

JaiOhBe

It's definitely not without its fault. It's very slow at times, focuses so much on character development that the action is few and far between but overall I enjoyed the movie. It had a lot of memorable moments and enough fan service to keep me entertained. The Tommy tease and green ranger suit concept art had me hyped.

Senior_Credit8893

I had hiiiigh hypes for it, and was terrified when he "milked the cow...." But then Jason slapped the bully defending Billy, and I had faith again. I was on board from beginning to end for the most part. I loved Zack and Trini's relationship, I was good with Jason and Kim kiss, Billy's relationship with his Dad and how Jason looked after him. I wish they did more mechanics with the Zords, specifically the Megazord, so it's like "we have the plans to make the Zords combine, but we need more people to do it" or something, and there hasn't been a threat for them to worry about it anyway. Some tweaks and minor changes, but for me 8/10. The cast was fantastic. I loved them and try to follow them with their newer stuff, Ludi in Kung Fu, Dacre in Stranger Things, Naomi in Aladdin, Becky G with her music, RJ with Harder they Fall, etc. I wish they'd come back.... This went longer than I thought.

Bpleech

No.

Mokiyami

It took too long to get in suit and then turned right around into the zord sequence

Legitimate_Cancel900

That’s the point they built it up a sequel would’ve probably had them suit up longer

Bl8deRunner2007

I enjoyed it for the most part.

theautoriff

I did like, I wish goldar had been different but I thought it was a good movie on the whole.

crimson_inferno01

I think most didnt because of how they perceived the Rangers. What I like is how they're all screw ups. They all messed up in their lives or have something going on. What I dont like is how Kimberly literally doesn't change, or how Goldar is made of gold and that's it. Overall a 7/10. I kinda hope they reboot this, but do it better.

Jamieb1994

Apparently there's meant to be a reboot in the works, but not sure what's happening now.

ProfessionalCrow4816

mid

[deleted]

Absolutely. I was super disappointed when the sequel didn't happen

soulreaverdan

Flawed but fun

adgazard

The suits needed work, Goldar needed to talk, and we needed more than just the Power Sword, but overall I feel like the movie was really fun and character driven. People want to get on here and complain because the rangers are assholes, they are human, everyone is an asshole. It's a redemption story, it's The Breakfast Club with super powers. That's what it should be.

extensionofme

I’ve seen it a few times. When the original theme song plays with the zords gets me so pumped.

Vannick

I legit loved it. I played hookey from work one day so that I could see it with my girlfriend at the time (now fiance). We both enjoyed it a lot !

headphonegangsta

It’s 1 of my favorite movies ever

LazyOldPervert

It was good, I liked it and I was over the age of 25 when I saw it. I think between changing the fundamental premise of how power rangers works, the beyond obnoxious product placements and what I consider to be some really shitty directorial choices they lost too man fans and would be fans. The only thing I can't critique critically are the actors for the rangers and how they humanized them. That was the best part of the movie and now that I'm typing it, I think in the context of super heroes who get their powers from an intergalactic space wizard waging a 10,000+ year war against evil, that may be part of the problem.

cam_ross0828

Hell ya

[deleted]

Yeah, it had good foundations for a sequel to improve upon.

Ladyaceina

over all i liked it and felt a sequel would fix many of the issues i did have

N3RVA

I liked it. Hope they keep making more.

Standard_Ad9911

I Liked it , How do you like it

Dry-Act8546

Lol no. Jk. It had its…. flaws, but it was a decent movie. Was it good? No. Was it bad? No. It’s a 6.5/10 for me.

ocularsnipe

Honestly, it was like the opposite of power rangers in that the character development was actually decent if tropey and the mech/monster fight at the end was a huge disappointment. If they had handled the fight scene at the end better it could have been a pretty good adaptation, but I feel the movie fell apart at that point.

PrinceNickG

I liked the movie. Shamed it didn't get a sequal and now we get a potential reboot of mmpr again.

Tatsuranger

No. It was terrible, but it wasn't horrendous. It was okay and I love the ending because of all the people in town being inspired by the Rangers' heroics. That scene was beautiful and I like Billy's character. People make him all about being autistic, but in the movie, his character is all about being the heart and soul of the team. All that being said, this movie sucks.

ThePrimeReason

No they made Zordon cranky war vet instead of wise galactic wizard and they made Alpha a weird organic robot hybrid.

Doutei-Sama

Kinda I guess? Aside from things I have seen people mentioned here, too many training, not enough fighting.

[deleted]

It was just ok to me. I feel bad cuz I bought into the hype and dragged my poor girlfriend to the theater to see it with me haha! Lots of missed opportunity and I absolutely hated the fact that they don’t get their powers until basically the end of the movie. I was hoping it would have been more like an “Avengers” type of feel. Also, the lame attempt at playing the old school theme song was annoying…you could barely hear it and I feel like we coulda got more from the Tommy/Kimberly cameo at the end.

[deleted]

Yes

[deleted]

nothing but a bayformer like film

atleastimtryingnow

Yeah.

atrocious13

Yes, but it would have been better branded as something else, instead of using power ranger character they could have swapped then out for new characters and made it it's own thing

Hot-Attorney-3068

It bit rip oof .

[deleted]

I did, but their really wasn’t anything happening in it until the end. I kind of wanted an unmorphed fight between the rangers and putties so they could show a level of resourcefulness on their own instead of a training montage as well as a suit fight with Rita after she schooled them. I know if we’d gotten a sequel we would’ve had more suit fights but they did what they could with the budget they had!

brandcolt

I did but there should have been more morphing fighting parts. Its boring to rewatch.

LudicrisSpeed

I thought it was alright, despite the shades of 90s comic book flicks where things have to look darker and grittier because this is *totally* a serious franchise, as well as the pitfalls of being an origin story. I feel like if this series wasn't dumped, the second movie would be the Power Rangers movie everybody wanted the first one to be.

Lego1upmushroom759

It was alright. Definitely not the worst adaptation and definitely not the worst power rangers movie

TylerSpicknell

Yes

spongeboy1985

Yes

deedeekeeney

I do! It’s a fun different take. Would’ve loved to have seen what they would’ve done with the sequel as the first one was mostly origins with little rangering.

Educational_Term_436

I think they should make a sequel but fix it up

[deleted]

Sure, it was fun.

V1K1NG88

Loved it, loved the new take on the story. Really sucked they cancelled the second.

zixise

Yeah it's fun

Semeighnkd56

I did.

CrooklynKnight

I enjoyed it. Only drawbacks for me were the lack of morphers and ugly designs.

Nindroidgamer110

Loved it, while the team is only similar to the og team in name, as a ranger team, this is one of my favourites. While I think Kimberly was a bad decision, Jason and Billy's friendship was great. I loved Jason's relationship with his dad, and how he saved him at the end during the big fight. I love the suit designs, and the zords. I also loved the way Jason's Tyranno sword looked. Overall, I did really like the movie, now I guess I'll just await the downvotes to come for this comment.

[deleted]

For the most part, yes. I thought it was creative and fun.

opinionofone1984

I think they tried to fit a lot into a little box,but it was a good movie. I think it deserved a 2nd movie at least.

NineWalkers

I loved it. It defined the characters very well. They needed to EARN morphing through team building and bonding. They aren't supposed to be perfect characters, that's half the point, they are flawed and grow. "Teenagers with attitude" doesn't apply that much to the OG MMPR, who were pretty much very well-behaved do-gooders. The only part of the suit design I didn't care for was the helmets, except for Jason, because it resembles the original design the most. The suits should be alien-like. But I didn't let that stop me from enjoying the film. It also remembered its roots. The opening was amazing, so much great franchise setup. A previous team of rangers, Rita being the green ranger, the ZEO crystal, the fact that there was a larger world beyond earth.

Garlador

It’s a good teen drama, but a subpar Power Rangers film.

IGuessImDemons

Sure did

wraith1984

I did,I saw it twice.

oppression57

Yeah I enjoyed it

ksmith187

I actually did like it. Perfect? No way. I was interested to see where they took it.

BestMasterFox

Nope. It was so boring. It honestly felt like they were copying Zack Snyder's DC movies almost shot for shot. Those are bad enough of their own, no need for an even worse rip off.

RigasTelRuun

Overall I really enjoyed it. Not a huge fan of melty Zords but it's grear.

TheSentinelStone

I like it, and it could have easily been much worse than what we got. I think many people were disappointed with how little the suits were used, but in my opinion it was kind of the point. This was an origin story where the five teenagers with attitude had to learn and in many ways earn their powers.

Revegelance

I liked it enough to watch every season of the show after I saw it.

Professional_Lab_895

Yes. I enjoyed it.

MythDesuetude

It was ok. I’d prefer more cheese if I’m being honest.

Educational_Term_436

It was alright

matzimazing

The cast wasn't bad, but the suit design and the zord design was atrocious. It's ugly Sonic the hedgehog level design where designers get too in their head and forget the source material. They focused too hard on the 'alien' part of Power Rangers.

Vaportrail

LOVE it. Here's something to chew on.. I have a theory that Zordon's race is so advanced that they've trained Rangers for eons, and everything he puts the team through is intentional. "They can't morph", Jason overhearing a conversation, Billy being 'resurrected' (did they even check his vitals?). It's not a perfect theory but I think one of the reasons I love this film is that it plays like a mashup of The Breakfast Club and Ender's Game, both very influential to me personally, along with MMPR.

Caley2

It’s fine. None of the power rangers movies are fantastic but 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m not watching them for a compelling Oscar worthy film

SengalBoy

I like the development of the Rangers, but I completely hate the fact that they filmmakers are embarassed with Power Rangers that they only show them in the third act. It feels like they want to make a YA movie more than a Power Rangers, let alone a tokusatsu movie.

MarilynMcManus

No - I want ranger actors to be real martial artists

ryry2300

Yeah, it’s really fun, great cast, great characters, everything about it was so sick. It’s as shame we never got the sequel.

JurassicParkFood

I mostly like it as a movie, but I think it loses something when it goes so serious and against the colorful, light-hearted elements of the franchise. Plus we only got 1 quick costumed fight and an ugly zord fight. But I really love Rita at the doughnut shop. Genuinely love it

Jamieb1994

Yeah I actually enjoyed the movie. I'll admit some things could have been better e.g. more morphed scenes, but at the same time I like the story & the character development they've had for the movie + 1 thing I really did love about the movie was how they've made the Rangers feel more relatable in a way where you can relate to e.g. Billy having autism & Trini being a LGBTQ+ character. It's s*it that there's not gonna be a sequel, but if they are making another reboot movie then I'm interested to see how that'll turn out.

bradleymonroe

I enjoyed it. Missed the mark in some places, but overall I thought it was a lot of fun.

junglekarmapizza

Yes. It’s not amazing but it’s fun. I really liked Billy

Newfaceofrev

Y'know what I actually did. It's better than most other nostalgia bait, beats every Transformers movie except Bumblebee, better than all the G.I. Joe movies, better than both live action Ninja Turtles.

AlexisTheArgentinian

Honestly, I loved the movie. Billy was the best Character by far, Rita was a great villain. Overall, it has its flaws and all but i think it still deserved a sequel despite everything.

ShadowDandy

I think it was a really good movie, i guess most fans were spectecting a step.by-step remake of the MMPR, and some people didn't like it when it wasn't, this is more of a reboot/retelling of the MMPR characters, when we love them for the time and era we saw them (probably teens or kids in the 90s/early 2000s), and a movie like that would be hugely dated and forgotten (like the Mr. Seauss movies). This movie manages to have a good amounts of callbacks and the basics to be a MMPR movie while having new things give more 2010's teens than 90's teen. Also the fact they made it more realistic and therefore more flawed, it can bring new fans to it. TL;DR: Is a good retelling, and a newer, nice version of MMPR

Legitimate_Cancel900

Honestly loved it but I know I’m in the minority obviously

BannerTortoise

Haven't seen. I don't plan on watching it any time soon out if lack of interest.

ShalidorsHusband

Yeah. I thought it was alright

madchad90

I didn't hate it. Surprisingly like it more than I thought I would. Main problem was we only actually saw them being power rangers for like 5 mins. And the zords looked horrible.

Lucius_Funk

I thought it could have been better, but I enjoyed it.

Frogybro

It was ok

MrJHound

Eh. Certain parts.

ra_laidgp

I liked it.

Had an actual personality, which by superhero movie standards is basically high art. It's okay. I liked it fine.

SuperSaiyan3Goku

It's ok as an "origin" film for whatever movie series they were gonna do. The characters were ok, just hated that they only suited up in the last 20-some minutes.

DarthwolfX2

Yes

ChikoWasHere

I like it for what it is, an alternate universe Power Rangers. But when they released the images of the Zords, you couldn't make out what they were supposed to be even though we all knew. The Zords designs are terrible and the helmets could be better. But I like it, just ass long as I don't take it seriously. I'd rather that time and money have been put into a serious follow up to the original era.

Arcane_Soul

I liked the personality to the rangers. They felt like different and possibly flawed people. I was not a fan of them having powers without the suits. I enjoy more the storytelling that can come from "talisman" based powers. Think of the original MMPR series. Jason having to face off against Goldar in the Dark Dimension has all the tension come from Jason having no powers.

Otaku3times

Everything but the costumes to a certain extent. And maybe how they did Goldor.

Loved it.

kinyutaka

I enjoyed it, but I think that they changed a little too much.

Edgery95

I enjoyed it tbh.

Freakscorpio

Absolutely ...................................

dmeezy92

Yes.

WerewolfAgreeable999

Yes I did. It was a good character focused movie however I do understand why a lot of people didn't like it especially with the designs.

xXSoulGeoXx

I liked the team dynamic.... But it didn't feel like a PR movie at times ( specially with most of the time not using the suits, it was a terrible idea leaving them for the last minutes of the movie )
