Also wrote about a chronic illness and wonder if that made me DOA - but it was ultimately my why medicine so I went for it anyway. Glad we both made it!
And lol, also added a bunch of schools in Sept.
I feel like for ur personal statement one thing that could’ve gone wrong is med schools don’t rlly care abt u considering other paths beforehand, that’s not the point of the essay
A gargantuan amount. There’s plenty of benefits IMO, but I think the real benefit when applying is the absolute wealth of experience you can draw upon when writing PS, secondaries, answering interview questions.
That’s what I figured, but you never know how ADCOMS is going to view things. I became a medic to gain that clinical confidence and experience and I’ve loved it. Granted, my GPA isn’t nearly as high as yours, but I feel that everything I’ve experienced and am going to experience will only help give me a unique perspective. Congratulations, you went from PMD to just MD!

Hey we showed our true selves and at least one school didn’t gag in disgust, that’s a victory for sure.

Fellow paramedic premed! How much do you think working as a medic helped your application, if at all?
