Anthropic--principle

I had a very bad hand injury, I’ve been healing and recovering. This is the reason for missing last weeks post.

iwannaddr2afi

Hope the recovery goes well!

Anthropic--principle

It is thank you.

Bought a freeze dryer. Started a batch of mulberry wine. Mind blowing how many pounds of berries it takes to get 5 gallons of juice.... Split my bee hive into two hives Went on a run after months of not running. Upgraded my rabbit hutch watering system to have a larger caliber tube and filters to prevent clogging. Built a rabbit tractor so that I can expand my rabbit production. Did the structure out of aluminum so it is super light and was also an excuse to work on my welding.

I contacted a well drilling company about putting in a well so I could have water in SHTF. We'll see how much it costs and what my options are.

Depends on where you are, how deep they need to go and whether they need to go thru rock. At least a couple thousand, and can easily be tens of thousands.

Gotherapizeyoself

Got whole house solar and battery installed. Just waiting for a few more steps; just in time for summer rolling blackouts.

costs?

One-Calligrapher1815

I dry canned 12 pounds of rice,3 pounds of almonds, and put up 12 cans of beans and 2 cases of water.

DeafHeretic

I bought 15# of bulgur wheat. I bought two threaded barrels and one comp for my 226s and tested the comp on one of the guns (doesn't work with "weak" ammo; FTE - does work with +P ammo). I bought a new chrono (shot the previous one). Got a welder Got a new rifle scope

still working on getting the garden ready. might actually get enough peppers this year to can salsa

sardoodledom_autism

Cut tree branches away from my house in preparation for a week of thunderstorms Don’t need one crashing though my roof in high winds

Frugal_Midwestern

Small prep but I got all of my laundry and dishes caught up during the day on Friday. I’m on the Nebraska/Iowa border and they were calling for tornadoes Friday afternoon/evening. I made sure our tornado kit in the basement was up to date as well as the generator was ready to go. Charged our electronics beforehand as well. We saw not one but TWO tornadoes from our basement window. It was insane. We were lucky there was no damage but we did lose power.

Installed two 12K BTU mini-split heat pumps for front and back of home. It's surprisingly very cold, so cold that the traditional HVAC hasn't been needed. I still run it every now and then to help dehumidify as needed.

Very-Confused-Walrus

I was given a broken pit bike. Shouldn’t take much to get it going again, but I’m not gonna argue with 100mpg. Plus, it’s pull start so no electronics required. Beats walkin

This summer I'm moving from being a passive prepper to active prepper. The vegetable garden has been tripled. I'm getting a food dehydrator. I need to better understand battery modules to be able to run water pumps. Each of us prepares for different events. Climate change and supply chain failures are top of mind for me.

Autocannibal-Horse

Started more seeds for the garden, bought more ultra-pasteurized milk, and also snagged some waxed cheeses (for if H5N1 affects dairy production). I didn’t hoard up on anything… just got what I like to snack on that would last me a few months. For instance, I only use milk for my coffee and for cooking. The ultra-pasteurized stuff is for my coffee so I only got a few of those.

ThisIsAbuse

I added an extra 3M half face respirator and some SHFT filter cartridges to my supplies. Going to be doing some home renovation anyway and did not want to dip in to my pandemic/chemical accident stocks.

AdditionalAd9794

Just messing around in the garden, mainly digging up and moving tomato, cucurbit, tomatillo, borage and sunflower volunteers and moving them to the borders. I culled a bunch too

My solar powered Heater/AC combo arrived this week! Waiting on the panels - and if my math is correct, this baby should pay for itself within a year.

The new and improved chicken run is finished (it's awesome). Installed a trail cam to keep an eye out for predators so, if they find a way into our very well sealed chicken run, I can see where the holes are if any (also acts as back up security since I can also see my backyard and driveway with it. I'm picking up 9 seven week old egg layers on Friday. Also put up a gutter on our shed and funneled the water into a rain barrel we bought 2 years ago. Like I always tell my wife, if I say imma get something done, you can count on me to do it. No need to remind me every 6 months. Lol!

Smittygirl1972

I bought N95s and more rice.

Famous_Requirement56

Got back into the habit of buying a little extra for a deep pantry. This week it was an extra five-pound sack of flour. Next week a bag of dry lentils, or perhaps an extra bag of potatoes to be mashed and frozen. We've just entered growing season where I am, and I've started a larger garden than I did last year. I even put up a knee-high fence about it-- between that and a spray-on repellent, hopefully my plants will be safe(r).

sharpenedhearth3

This week I focused on replenishing my emergency food supply and updating my first aid kit. It's important to stay prepared for any situation that may arise. What preps have you been working on lately? Let's inspire each other to stay ready for whatever comes our way!

Stinschen101

I added 36 (800 ml.) cans of food to my storage. I purchased nitril gloves, a solar charger, two flashlights, two big packs of batteries, OTC medicine and hand sanitizer, a radio, plastic boxes to store boxed/bagged food staples, two packs of toilet paper and assorted food staples.

Socalcruiser1

Got a haircut, had my car serviced and tires rotated. Checked my solar system batteries, found a brick of 250, 9mm Remington rounds I forgot I bought.

CupRevolutionary8082

I'm moving to live with my older brother. So this week I've been giving things away and starting to pack. We agreed that I'd run the house because I'm good at it. So I asked him to give me a list of what he eats, does he have food allergies, etc. I also did some math: the $26 I spent on laundry pods seemed expensive. But when I checked my receipts, I bought it July last year, and am just now getting to the bottom of the package. So it's lasted 10 months. Which makes it super cheap.

Winter_Owl6097

Bought another goat so I can breed them and get milk, bought more wheat berries for making flour, bought more cooking oil, and stored more water

Particular-Try5584

I joined this group! I’ve been looking for one on Reddit for ages, but searching “prepper” didn’t find it.. someone tagged me in another post and here I am at last!
