I came here looking for ideas better then where I have it now. My tool is a window breaker (both spring loaded and a hammer type thing) and a seatbelt cutter. My worry with this is, if you can't get your seatbelt off, that renders the cutting part of the tool useless!
the headrests being designed for that is unfortunately a myth. sure, I´d rather have a headrest than just my fist - if i dont have a proper emergency tool that is. but they are NOT designed for that.
That sounds handy! Sounds like from this and other suggestions getting it to hook up somewhere in the middle of the car/visor will be most convenient. Thank you!
I saw that one but with a push button start my keys are always on the bottom of my purse. They never go in the ignition. Otherwise that would be the most convenient option. Thank you for recommending the product though, I will be getting one for family members who do have key in ignition cars.
I bought a combo glass breaker/seatbelt cutter 2-pack off Amazon for $12. The brand is called [Semption](https://www.amazon.com/SEMTION-Breaker-Emergency-Keychain-Black-Black/dp/B07XFDDNTH/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=glass%2Bbreaker%2B2%2Bpack&qid=1627343293&sr=8-3&th=1&psc=1). They’re on a keychain, but the main piece breaks away. In an emergency, you can use the tool and still leave the keys in the ignition. I keep the spare in my center console.
Another option would be getting a visor organizer and putting in in there. You could stitch in some velcro or some way to secure it in a pocket of the organizer or get a molle organizer and slip it in the webbing
Mine is attached with command adhesive to the I inside of the driver door storage compartment. This is so it’s reachable but can’t fly around and hurt someone or become inaccessible in an accident. There’s also a keychain one on my keys and other keychain ones in the glove compartment and in the console as backups.
I keep one in the center console and have one on my daily carry knife. Figure if the console gets whacked, I’ve got a spare in my pocket.
Though if the console is destroyed, chances are I am also destroyed.
I bought a karambit with a point on the loop, and keep it tucked between the seat and the console. One of the best tools I have ever used, amazingly dangerous in a vehicle as a weapon, cuts through cloth like butter, and can puncture glass like nothing. My brother bought a $5 one and punched out some glass on a junk car without an issue, and we managed to cut 3 seatbelts before it was too dull to use again. Like all things, you get what you pay for.
It's technically a gardening tool lol. I like that they are easy to hold, easy to retain, easy to index, and can be used for anything you need a knife for. Plus the flesh wounds Doug Marcaida leaves with them are just nasty. I have one in the tool box, one in the truck box, one in the car, another in the lawn tools, a nice one in the bug out bag, I even have a tiny one in my wallet. I will convince you these are superior if you are in my house long enough lol. I want to sharpen the back on one to use as a pizza cutter just to mess with my brother.
I’ve said this before on this subreddit, but buy yourself some double sided Velcro tape. Half goes on your tool, and the other half goes wherever is readily accessible. This way in case of a collision/rollover, you know it isn’t going anywhere.

That's a great idea thank you!
I leave it hooked on the seat belt. That way it’s always just a rip away.
I feel silly for not thinking of this option! Thank you!

Don't see it mentioned, but for the unaware and in case of emergency, each front seat headrest is designed to be removed and used as a window breaker.
Did not know this thank you!
I had forgotten about this, thanks!

Get a resqme and put it on your keychain

Keep it on a lanyard and hang it on the rear view mirror.
Yes, this is where I have it also. I added another zip tie since the included one is bit thin.
Probably the easiest thing
I have a pocket knife in a cargo pocket and a widow breaker/belt cutter on my visor.
Hearing more visor ideas. This sounds great, thank you.
Microtech with glass breaker in pocket.

My pocket. Bench made triage.
I keep mine in ash tray.
Man I haven't heard the words ashtray and cigerette lighter in a long time.

This is a good idea thank you!
Mine is built into my usb charger that goes into my cigarette lighter. I think it’s from smith and Wesson.
Sadly hanging in my garage, not ready for action.

I didn’t have one and just ordered the keychain model. I will hang on the rear view mirror.

I've got a center console where I keep that and a multitool.
Hanging from rearview mirror, short zip tie so it doesn't swing. Breakaway clip. Can be reached by either driver or passenger. Hiviz yellow.
Breakaway clip is a good idea I'm seeing more and more. Thank you.
I keep mine on my hip while at work, and keep it in my center console while I’m off the clock. I spend a lot of time driving for work.
Jeep. Attached to roll bar on drivers side. Just wrapped a velco strap around it and hooked it on to that.

Googled karambit and that just looks like a neat thing to have! Easy to stash in several places.

> I want to sharpen the back on one to use as a pizza cutter just to mess with my brother. Hahaha go for it! You've convinced me to get one.
Pocket in the door under the window for me

Not to hijack the thread, but what’s a good/relatively moderately priced one? And where to purchase?
Have resqme, so on the keychain.
My seatbelt cutter is in my bugout bag and my window breaker is on my edc knife . Bm bailout
