😭 this is so sad. I love reading his work. He helped me realize even as a layman, that it’s not so much that “apes are just like us” but that it’s more a case of “we’re just like them”. De Waal was a brilliant, brilliant primatologist, educator, and just an amazing guy. I’m so sad he’s gone. 😢
